Due to protests I ended up holding off a few days but made them fully aware I would come up to see the car. I stopped getting replies to my e-mail after that. The day before I was coming up I couldn't get a hold of anyone, I had requested to get additional photos of the front and rear bumpers' because they were blurry online when you zoom in. I got nothing. The car has been listed since March but they didn't seem to caring much to sell it --- I ended up making the trip ( I had a list of cars to see in the LA/OC area) and stopped here first because I was very interested in the vehicle which was listed a reasonable price, I wasn't even going to haggle the price. I walked around the small lot for about 5-8 minutes, inspected the car from the outside but never got approached. Finally walked in to get some attention but I felt like I was in their way instead. The guy gave me the keys willingly to check out (which is why I didn't give one star), he let me just have my time with it. But seemed like he was getting a new car dropped off, he didn't really care much for me and there legit was no other customers there to help out. Made my way off the lot pretty fast after sitting in the car for two minutes . Bad vibes and very disappointed. The other half of this, their website offers getting value for a trade-in. When I let him know of my interest and letting him know I had a trade in, he quickly told me they do not take trade in's at all because they have no money. Maybe take it down from the website as an option? All in all, the guy seemed bugged about something rather than me being there as a customer. He didn't even try and sell to me, he had no interest of talking to me. For someone who claims to not have money, you would think they'd try harder to make a sale. Ended up buying a 2022 BMW 540i from a dealership in Downey, paid a little more than I wanted but at least they tried and got the Gen 2 B58 so at least the day ended good.

It was an easy decision, especially since the Torrance location is only 1.8 miles from my house. Both vehicles were low mileage and in excellent condition. I uploaded all the requested information online and scheduled two appointments, one at 11:30 and the other at noon. When we arrived, I parked both cars and checked in. My wife had driven one of the vehicles over, and within minutes CarMax had arranged a complimentary Lyft to take her home. At 11:30, I was called to meet with a representative who handled the paperwork for both vehicles at the same time. She explained everything clearly, completed the paperwork efficiently, and handed me two checks for the exact amounts they had quoted online. No games, no last-minute negotiations, and no surprises. I was in and out in about 35 to 45 minutes. Before I left, CarMax even arranged a complimentary Lyft to get me home. The entire selling experience was outstanding. I also let him know that I am Deaf and that we could communicate by texting or using the Notes app on my phone. Unfortunately, he did not seem interested in helping me. We walked to another desk, and I typed my questions on my phone. Instead of looking at me while communicating, he kept looking elsewhere. I showed him my iPhone, and he simply opened a browser and told me there were no other cars available. He did not offer any alternatives, suggestions, or discuss other options that might fit my needs. When I asked additional questions, he continued looking away and avoided eye contact. His behavior made me feel like he did not want to help me. As a Deaf customer, this experience left me wondering whether I was being treated differently because of my disability. I felt unwelcome and disappointed. Because of this experience, I would not choose to work with Michael again. On the other hand, Phillip was outstanding. He was friendly, patient, and communicated very well with me. He made me feel respected and took the time to help answer my questions. I truly appreciate Phillip's excellent customer service and professionalism.
