Worst restaurant in Ashland! Stay far away! I've lived here all my life. Everytime I go in there it just reminds me why it's the worst ever. Rude servers. Terrible people skills all around unless you're one of their friends I guess.... Food sucks. Tonight we went in just before 9. Stood there for 7 mins while the girls behind the bar chatted...they saw our party of 7 standing there. Finally someone came over and said ....heyyyyy so our kitchen actually just closed. Fries way too salty. Hamburger was ok, but asked for medium and it was well done. My wife's Rueben sandwich didn't even have thousand island, and only enough meat for half the sandwich, and appeared to be grilled - burnt on one side. You need someone else in the kitchen. My family has been coming here once a month for the past 7 years and it has progressively gotten worse, especially recently. Tonight after a busy day we called in takeout. Arrived at the time they told us to, they entered the order wrong and only gave me 1 burger when I ordered 3 the same way. Proceeded to take an extra 25 minutes with me and my 5 yr old waiting by the bar. No offer of a drink or discount or anything. Got home and the two burgers they made last were literally burnt and dry and had zero toppings when I asked for everything. Worst burger I've ever had. Won't be going back. read more

We had no idea where we were while traveling to our AirBnB. Thank God for Yelp (and Waze)! Great little place - good food for a bar and grill! Since I splurged at breakfast with "SOS," I got a nice healthy salad for an early dinner. It was a Santa Fe, with the usual suspects (I held the tomato and onion) - blackened chicken, beans, cheddar cheese, tortilla strips. The Thousand Island dressing was super good - Im guessing house made? Very, very good! Tender and plentiful chicken and yummy all around. Nice atmosphere and sweet Southern server. I love the "y'all!" The man had a burger and onion rings, that he fancied a lot. (My only turn offs were the semi dirty bathroom and taped up booths). read more

This place has gone down hill. The Mechanicsville location is much better if you're looking for a sports page to frequent. Typical bar food, nachos aren't anything to write home about. The burgers are huge so that's a plus. The jerk wings are incredible. Over all, wouldn't recommend, but do recommend the jerk wings! read more

I've gone here for some sports games and I'll tell ya it's packed on the weekends here. It's definitely locals spot for all things sports. It has a nice townie feel to the place though. We were in town several different weekends for various tournaments. Each time we found ourselves returning to Sportspage for lunch. The portions are wonderful and the prices are good. Burgers are a nice size and you receive a large amount of French fries. The fried pickles were delicious. Steak and Cheese wrap... yum! The restaurant did not appear to be busy as there were lots of available seating options. Waited longer than other customers who were seated after we were and noticed they all got their food and were eating. We flagged down another waitress and asked if she could help us who got our waitress and she didn't understand the delay on a salad and well done hamburger. Decided to leave and pay for our drinks. The waitress understood and was helpful but the young girl bartender scolded us and said the owner and the general manager would not view a 20 minute wait as taking a long time. Really like this place and great way to see any of your favorite sports teams. Food is good and service is great. Just moved to Ashland from Ohio and have been there a few times. Do have one recommendation, maybe open up the music spectrum for different clientele. I don't mind country music but a variety of songs would be really nice and maybe appeal to more guests, it is a college town however. Our server said it was actually a country bar? Well probably should consider a name change to say The Broken Spoke? read more

We stopped in for dinner here after the place we planned to go to was closed. The parking lot was full but we parked across the street. We were seated quickly and got drinks fairly fast. After that, it went a little down hill. It took about 25-30 min to get our order and the waitress only stopped by when I flagged her down. It was crowded due to March madness and Randolph Macon basketball team was planning in a championship game. I had the Chesapeake sandwich which is chicken with crab dip and my wife had a Cuban. Both were typical bar food. Overall, the experience was ok. I would go back but will probably try other places in the area as well read more

Casual and efficient sports bar and restaurant. Plenty of parking, seating outside by the parking lot and inside which is where I like to be. TVs with lots of sports on, decorated with local sports teams from Randolph Macon to Hanover high schools. On the menu you are going to find all the American food you would want, wings, burgers, nachos and my favorite the club. Fries are tasty and plentiful. This is not fine dining but good food quickly with nice people. It is always busy which is a good sign. Fast on the refills and they have a bar section as well. This is a cool little sports bar with plenty of TVs, a full bar, and an extensive menu. They happily accommodated our party of 5 in the middle of the restaurant and put our games on within a few minutes of our request. Our waitress, Susan, was AMAZING. She had the best attitude and never lost her patience with our annoyingly loud group We ordered nachos to start and then split some boneless wings with Carolina Gold sauce. The wing sauce was delicious. The ONLY reason this isn't a 5-star review is because we were disappointed by the nachos. They were topped with a liquid cheese sauce that made the tortilla chips instantly soggy - to the point that we had to use a fork to eat them. They were tasty - just soggy. We used to love this place. We went there tonight 5/20/24 after checking their website saying they were open until 10pm. It was about 8:50 and they told us they were closing and couldn't serve us. We had watched them take another party's order. We could have given our order in about 30 seconds after the other party. I asked for a manager and the waitress told us there wasn't a manager on duty. Don't advertise that you are open until 10pm and then close before 9pm. We really felt the waitress was on the rude side. Only wish we had gotten her name. I work at a local business and when people ask for a good place to eat I usually recommend Sports Page, but don't worry about me recommending them again. They have just lost my business. This was my 2nd visit here and the service and food is still fantastic. Our server was friendly, very patient, and took great care of us. Their wings are huge and delicious. The Carribean Jerk is delicious. I am not a fan of dry rub, but this rub is amazingly good. I want to like this place. I really do however... the music is way to loud. You can not hear the person next to you. Which is unfortunate because the staff is not attentive so you have a lot of time to wait and talk... but you can't because of the loud music (like so loud my watch though I was at a concert). The staff does not acknowledge you will you wait by the front door for a table. And it in on the honor system for who was here first, so you better be pretty or rich. The food is okay, when it finally arrives. But don't count on it all coming at once. As we're new to #RVA area, this was my first stop into Sportspage. The kids and I opted for a walk-in, order to go and tailgate lunch at the nearby Pufferbelly park. All in all - excellent lunch! COVID precautions were in place and the kids and I safely waited while staff wore masks and other patrons were social distancing. (Hopefully someone will read this review in a year to two and think... glad that's all behind us). I ordered the Rockfish Sandwich, which was probably the best fish sandwich I've had in a LONG time. The carbana bread and ratio to fish per bite was perfect. It'll be hard for me to order something else my next visit. The kids both had mini-burgers (on the online menu, but not the in-restaurant menu). Plenty of real hamburger that came with a thousand island sauce that both kids love (after they initially scoffed away, of course). One had onion rings (authentic, loved them), and the other had French fries. Very filling, and excellent lunch. Kids exercised it away with other kids at the park. The staff was extremely friendly (as I'm finding for most places here in the #RVA area). The outdoor seating area (not very aesthetic, but pet friendly) was open and full to capacity when we left. Overall, 5-star experience for our first visit. Since we visit Pufferbelly park often, we'll definitely be back for more fish and "mini-burgers". read more

Sad to say that this restaurant has changed hands and it's definitely not the same. This used to be a wonderful local place where the great people of Ashland went to eat with friends and family. While you ate you always saw someone else you knew and the food was good and reasonably priced. Now the food quality has gone downhill tremendously and the prices and extra surcharges have gone up. If you have an issue, the management becomes defensive, argumentative and rude. A lot of regular customers refuse to go back because they have been so offended. The building looks nice on the outside and they've added a couple TVs. Remember you can put lipstick on a pig, but in the end the pig is still a pig! read more

Sports Page was good! My husband and I ate here on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is what you'd expect in a sport's bar: busy, a little loud, and games all over the many flat screen TVs. We started off with their crab dip, which was good. The toasted pita bread served with it is exceptionally tasty as well! I was happy with my southwest grilled chicken wrap. The accompanying fries were decent too. Also the servings were large- I was able to take home more than half of my meal for the next day. My husband is a hot wing enthusiast and ordered both the traditional hot wings along with the garlic pepper wings. The hot wings were great! Much better than most restaurant wings! The quality of the meat was good and they were cooked perfectly- allowing for a little crunch and not at all soggy. The garlic wings, however, fell flat. They were still cooked well, but the sauce was extremely bland and flavorless. It was just garlic. We both love garlic, but this was not a sauce- it was like they took cooked wings and dumped a jar of minced garlic on them and served them. They should try to throw in a couple other flavors for some contrast. We would have tried dessert, but had no room. I don't imagine we'll return for a date night, but I can definitely see this as being a good spot to meet a few friends for good food and drinks. read more

We ended up going here after leaving Kong's Dominion. We wanted real food. Luckily they were about 5 miles away and open late. The place was nice and clean. The waitresses were working, doing their jobs and paying attention to us the whole time. My husband got a club sandwich and I got onion rings and chicken tenders. The food was quick and done well. We even had who we were sure was the man in charge (manager or owner maybe?) come to our table and ask how we were doing. We do expect to be back when we come to KD in the future. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because even though my onion rings, chicken tenders and ranch dressing were what I was craving at the moment they were just frozen strait out the bag premade food. read more

This place is NOT GOOD if you want to watch a particular sports event. I was an hour early before the event, I was promised we could watch our game at a tv near by. My family met 1 1/2 hours away from each other. Our game was NOT available on the tv near us. The food was awful. The service was VERY poor!!! Bartender was SLOW. We were told we couldn't order any more food the kitchen was busy BUT the table next To us order was taken. We might have stayed for more food and drinks. Oh well!!! read more

Pretty decent spot for lunch! We came here after a trip to kings dominion and this DEFINITELY seems like a popular local spot. very few people inside seemed to be out-of-towners which we all took to be a good sign. The waitstaff was incredibly efficient, they were super busy and still managed to seat us immediately and we had absolutely no delays in the service. The food also exceeded expectations - the buffalo chicken dip was AMAZING and the cubano I ordered came with smoked brisket, which was an interesting choice, but added a nice southern flare onto a classic sandwich. The fries on the side were AMAZING the seasoning was just so good. The prices are also really really good. We averaged like $10 a person for food which is really great. One star off because it's a bit dirtier inside - the seating is on its last leg, the menus were kinda gross and the lighting is really dim even in broad daylight. But hey it's a sports bar. Overall it's a great spot to go grab lunch in the area and we're happy we made it in! read more
