Came here for Sunday lunch based on Yelpers comments. I'd rate this place a 3 star excursion overall, 2 star if I were rating my reliance on yelpers. Sorry. The place is spacious with immediate seating, lots of bar spots and lots of people drinking brunch bar spot sorts of drinks. 6 TVs showing sports. The good: Parking was easy, staff was very friendly. Drinks brought quickly. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time. Prices were fine, lunch for 2 was $30. No excuse me, $31.60 after what I presume was an undisclosed credit card upcharge. The average: Food was on average fine. Wife's hot pastrami and swiss was 3 star food -- tasty, lots of meat, not sure why french fries are a $1.50 upcharge over free regular sides (excuse me? these ain't truffles, they are french fries.) Was apparently toasted instead of grilled as described by the server. Fine. My reuben was at best 2 star -- so salty as to be marginally uncomfortable, and very stringy meat. Pulling pieces of the meat off, I do not think the salt issue was the meat, so maybe it was the russian dressing, maybe somehow it was the kraut.... one way or the other I was immediately craving fluids and still craving them an hour later. Conversely, the potato salad (no upcharge, lol) was bland as h*** and needed to be salted to taste like anything. Wife thinks it was house made, I am thinking Sysco. Either way, it needs help. I was expecting above average from other reviews, and on that basis I was disappointed. Our meals were very average, and that's fine if you live locally. But unless I am driving by I am in no hurry to return. Certainly not worth even 15 miles each way.

We tried Piggy's on a Sunday afternoon. There were multiple TVs carrying sports. The interior is bright and open which works well as a deli but loses some ambiance for a pub. Business was steady but not busy. My Cuban was very good and my side salad had lots of tomato, cucumber, and cheese. I was happy that the salad was a leafy green lettuce not iceberg. My companion enjoyed his Italian. Sandwiches are served with chips and a pickle spear. The sandwiches are good and deserve an upgraded chip. Piggy's is new and I see potential to hitting a 5 over time. Food: 4 Service: 5 Ambiance: 3

The service we had was fantastic. Extremely friendly, attentive, and what I appreciated most was the lack of urgency to bring my check once we finished our food (but had half of our drinks left). They made sure we took our time and enjoyed ourselves. Service: 5/5 Food was pretty good. Nothing out of this world, but great for the price and filled me up! Food 3.5/5 Ambiance was good, too. There were definitely more older men than anything else and the music matched their vibe (all classic rock), but I still really enjoyed that. Felt sort of like a mix of a dive bar and sports bar. That's very much my style! Ambiance: 3.5/5 Only downside was a table that popped up next to us that kept moving their chairs around and totally flipped the entire layout of their table to basically be directly next to my mom and I. The tables are fairly spaced out to avoid this, but that table either didn't care or didn't notice how close they got to us/how loud they were. They were definitely regulars, so maybe that's their table and they do this often! Oh well, they were having fun! Great experience! 4/5.

Half order sausage gravy, eggs scrambled w/American cheese.

We hit Piggy's for brunch this morning and were very pleased with everything. We were greeted warmly when we walked in and told to sit anywhere we would like; We chose a high top table in the bar area. Hubby ordered the half order of sausage gravy with 2 scrambled eggs with cheese, and I had the sausage Benedict which comes on a grilled biscuit and is topped with sausage patties, poached eggs and sausage gravy. I ordered the Gouda grits as my side. The sausage gravy is pretty good, much better than most in the area. It tastes very close to homemade (not sure if it is). Our server had the BEST personality. So helpful with recommendations, and did a great job staying on top of our drinks. She was the only one there, besides the bartender, on this busy Sunday morning but never had a problem with keeping up with all the tables. They keep it clean in there too. Although there were multiple tables filled in the bar area and dining area, they were quickly cleaned and the floor swept under them too. They offer a variety of specials throughout the week. Happy hour 3-7pm daily Monday-Friday, Monday is a bingo type game, Tuesday is trivia, and Wednesday is $1 wing (their wings are phenomenal!). They also have karaoke on the second and fourth Saturday of every month.

The food is great, and they have big TV's for watching sports at the bar. If you have not been in for brunch on the weekends, you should go!

Unfortunately, they miss big on depth of flavor. We ordered a few different items on the menu and almost all of them feel short when it came to the flavor profile. We opted to sit indoors but near the patio, so there was a nice cross breeze. I ordered the popcorn to start and my mom ordered pretzel bites. Both were very good, and I was impressed with the amount of popcorn that arrived. So much! My mom ordered the wake n bacon and I ordered the rancher omelet. My mom raved about her meal, but I could barely stomach the omelet. It was SO bland. I immediately let our server know, and she let me swap for something else. I asked for the muffalletta, but they were out of stock, so instead I ordered the wake n bacon. I wouldn't rave about it like my mom did, but it was much better than the omelet. If I'm in Ashland, I'd consider a return trip sometime to try more of their menu. Prices were reasonable and service was friendly.

Liverpool was playing and I imagine it's a great space to watch this if that's your speed. Sunday lunch menu had a good mixture of things. I was drawn into the special, which was a pork belly quiche with Irish cheese and green onions. This was ultimately quite fine. Big quiche fan but this wasn't my favorite crust nor my favorite cheese. And if I hadn't been told there was meat in it I'm not sure I would have noticed. The side salad had a nice balsamic dressing. What was most bothersome, though, was the size of the quiche. It was cheap enough but not really a lunch potion. Wish I had gone with a sanwich. Drinks were good-pretty standard. The service was astounding and everyone was so nice. Probably wouldn't come back for the food but if you want to watch some football (soccer) it's a nice option.
