I had a wonderful experience here, and a massive part of that was thanks to our server, McKenzie! She went above and beyond to make sure our table was taken care of. I have an onion and garlic allergy, which can often make dining out stressful or limited, but McKenzie and the entire staff were amazingly friendly, patient, and cooperative. She personally guided me through the menu, checked in on ingredients, and ensured I could enjoy a great meal safely. McKenzie was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and attentive--a true 10/10 server. There seem to be several American style tap houses in the Ashland area. Kreggers is also located in a strip mall and has a small outdoor patio. The inside has TVs all over- my kids loved that a couple even had cartoons on for them. The server was great the entire meal. They have a good lunch special menu- i went with the brisket tacos which were two large tacos loaded with meat and corn salsa plus a pepper sauce. They had a great kick to them. The spicy chips on the side were also great, and much better than the standard fries that seem to come with everything at these types of places. We decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday brunch at Kreggers! They have a nice sized brunch menu, great food concepts, great service and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, they miss big on depth of flavor. We ordered a few different items on the menu and almost all of them feel short when it came to the flavor profile. I stopped here for lunch with my mom after a nearby festival this summer. The restaurant, housed in a strip mall, has plenty of space indoors and a nice patio too. We opted to sit indoors but near the patio, so there was a nice cross breeze. I ordered the popcorn to start and my mom ordered pretzel bites. Both were very good, and I was impressed with the amount of popcorn that arrived. So much! My mom ordered the wake n bacon and I ordered the rancher omelet. My mom raved about her meal, but I could barely stomach the omelet. It was SO bland. I immediately let our server know, and she let me swap for something else. I asked for the muffalletta, but they were out of stock, so instead I ordered the wake n bacon. I wouldn't rave about it like my mom did, but it was much better than the omelet. If I'm in Ashland, I'd consider a return trip sometime to try more of their menu. Prices were reasonable and service was friendly. read more

12/15/23 Friday night 7:50pm I called in an order to go. I ordered fried green tomatoes, fried brussels sprouts, and some crab dip with no spicy chips because they come with spicy chips. It says so on the menu. The young lady that answered the phone was extremely nice and I appreciated the customer service. I was told it would take about 15 minutes. I arrived in about 10 I came in. She said it'll be a few minutes. No problem at all. I waited a few minutes that she brought me a bag and after looking in it, I realized it wasn't my order. She said she was so sorry and would go get my order. Might be a few more minutes. Absolutely not a problem. I understand you're busy things happen no problem. After about 20 - 25 more minutes I started feeling upset and would have walked out at this point. But I couldn't walk out because soon as I initially walked in they took my money and I tipped at 20% because I assumed, based on the phone conversation, that this was going to be a great experience. And I do not mind tipping for good experiences. So around the 20-25 minute mark I requested a manager. The manager is the same person that was helping me the whole time. when she finally came to talk to me, she had my food so now that I have to talk to you my food's gonna sit here and get cold. Well, talking to her and looking at my food I tasted the chips because I totally requested no spicy chips and what did they give me.... Yep! Spicy chips. Anyway, all I got was I'm sorry. Even after giving her tips like you could have said hey, this is taking longer than I expected. Would you like me to get you something to drink? I mean after waiting 40 minutes that just seems like that would've been the right thing to do. Again, all I got was an apology. She pretty much just made excuses that they were busy blah blah blah, but my thing is I called in. I was told 15 minutes and what really happened is y'all never even put in my order because there's no way it took 40 more minutes for fried green tomatoes, fried brussels sprouts, and crab dip. it literally takes a few minutes for the tomatoes and brussels sprout. I expressed that I'm sure the crab dip wasn't made right there on hand she said it was but I doubt it. She said it was made to order. Literally all she kept saying was she sorry. But at this point I'm sorry because that's not good enough. just don't make sense that it took 40 minutes plus the 10 minutes that I had already called it in so a total of 50 minutes for such a simple order. She then started talking about the other people in the restaurant Having to wait for their food too and then tried to switch it around like I'm asking too much, but I was quick to tell her when I called in the order (that y'all did not put in) I was told 15 minutes. I don't expect any special privileges, but I do expect my food to be ready when you tell me it's gonna be ready or close to it. Not 40 minutes later. But let's talk about the food that I threw away. So the brussels sprouts were OK. Thank God I had some balsamic glaze at home because I don't know what the white sauce was that they gave me for it but yeah that's not it. I did eat half the order. The fried green tomatoes were disappointing no flavor I don't know where the sauce was for the tomatoes. And as far as the crab dip with pimento cheese. That was pretty much pimento cheese. I tasted no crab. It was a pimento cheese dip. I threw the whole thing away. It was very thick and definitely not creamy. Mind you this is the first time eating at Kreggers. And I will never come back. I won't come back because of the ending Customer Service that I did not get and I will not come back because the food was not up to par. I got the Pork belly tacos and Mac n cheese. Mac n cheese sauce was very watery and didn't have to much flavor to it. The tacos were pretty good for the most part. Half the pork was cooked perfectly to where it was super crispy. The other half was cooked but wasn't super cooked to the point of being super crispy, I wished they were all cooked to a super crispiness. I loved the pickled onions and jalapeños on the taco. I am actually blown away by how good this place was. Ordered a mix drink that was on their specials and I got the chicken Klub I believe and it was amazing. I got a side of Gouda Mac that was also super yummy and my toddler ended up destroying that. The staff was friendly and our server was very attentive. After clearing up the misnomer, I asked what beers were on tap, and was guided to a QR code on the menu that was clear as mud to navigate. To say it was frustrating is accurate, but the first beer item was a PBR tall boy. So I had two. The burger, although of good quality, was drenched in their "secret sauce" whereas you couldn't grab it without making a damn mess. Finally, at half capacity, trying to communicate with the waitress was close to flagging down Helen Keller. Poor service at the opening is not a good sign. Literally, if I was recommending this place, it would rank below Applebee's and TGI Friday's (closed locations). read more

They've got a solid happy hour with daily specials. The draft list is decent but the internet inside was not allowing me to see the active menu so I kind of left it up to my server to "pick out" and IPA for me. My burger and fries were solid. The atmosphere was laid back and chill and everyone even the other patrons were very friendly (Southern Hospitality at its best). The food was so good and each of us got the mimosa flight. After we were done, they told us that they couldn't bring the Ahi tuna because they only had one working fryer. The Ahi tuna isn't fried. They brought our entrees, and just as we were finishing, a different waitress brought the tuna and asked if we got our pretzel bites. We told her that we did, and that we were told that they couldn't make the tuna because their fryer was down. She scowled at us like we did something wrong -- really nasty, prolonged look. The woman who welcomed us was our server and did a great job. We ordered the Buffalo oysters (mild) as an appetizer and then enjoyed the Monday night special, strip steaks (with two sides). Place was crowded and, I have to say, understaffed, but our server knew and prepped us for possible delay. I had high hopes when we visited this Kreggers as we had been to their other location already, but sadly this was not even close to good. The staff are pretty awful. We were seated pretty quickly but then we had no server for about 30 minutes. Mind you the place was empty. There were three other groups seated prior to our arrival who each had food. After we finally got a waitress we got one cup of water and coffee for the entire time we were at the restaurant like refills I guess aren't a thing even when you ask repeatedly. The food was salty, the fried potatoes were undercooked, and just overall mediocre at best. We got three of the brunch breakfast bowl and a green tomato eggs Benedict. It was just overall really disappointing and honestly a very uncomfortable vibe there. Compared to other spots my coworkers and I ventured off to earlier in the week, Kregger's was a step more towards what I believed was LOCAL-local. And I got to sample some bits from other states, like Louisiana and, wait, Texas? Man, I don't leave Texas to eat Texas BBQ. Bruh, come on. But I DO declare, that was a mighty fine beer and burger I had! Bonus points, I even got to check in my beer at Untapped: A Peanut Butter Porter which tasted like a melted PBCup! I was super impressed by the burger, though. The chips were not my favorite, but my burger came with a thick fried green tomato slice which kind of acted as a second patty! It was perfectly breaded and seasoned, too. I got through half the burger and took the rest home. My leftovers didn't last very long, though. We took our daughter and grandson here for lunch. Despite seats inside they put us outside in the "enclosed" seating area. The flaps did not close securely so the wind whipped through the area and it was quite cold. Seating is not comfortable. Our server was somewhat rude and seemed to be bothered.
