I'm out running errands decide to stop in to get a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I should've known it was an issue when it took 10 minutes before my order was taken. I placed my order, got my coffee and sat down and waited and waited and waited. I know staffing has been hard since Covid so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But 45 minutes later I was still waiting. Slowly people before me were getting their food. But then people behind me started getting their food. So I ask where is my sandwich? Gentleman from the kitchen goes back to the kitchen to check and never comes back out. Another person comes over and I tell them the same thing. She goes to check and comes to tell me the printer in the kitchen ran out of paper or ink and some orders got lost. So I'm tired of waiting and ask for my money back. I am a huge SPoT fan. They have excellent lattes, great atmosphere, and superb music choices. It's usually one of our go-to places for group study since it can be a little loud with all the background noise there. When I found out they opened a location on Transit and Maple, I couldn't wait to go. This location is bigger than the one on Main St. but is smaller than the Elmwood location. Bathrooms are super clean and very chic. They have a great fireplace and couches around it for cozy warm talks with your friends or SO. Lots of tables but I found only a couple of outlets by the mural wall. There also isn't sufficient lighting in some areas so if you're trying to do some reading, I would make sure to find a well lit spot. Drinks and food are great just like at the other locations. I've had the chicken fococia and chicken quesadilla here, and they were on par. Their food menu is always really good even if it can get a little pricey. My favorite latte is always the caramel macchiato and their looseleaf tea selection is also very good (I really enjoy the Moroccan Mint and Earl Grey). Nice location! read more

Spot is a chain, so I can't say this location is better or worse than any other I've been to, but I do like the overall atmosphere of the place. The food is surprisingly good for a coffee shop, and they have a few unique beverages on the menu which change seasonally so you can have a new experience each time you visit. I do really like this location because of the seating options available. They have couches, benches and classic tables so if you want to sit as a group or just hang out solo you can do that. In the winter this is also a great place to read or study, since they have a huge central fireplace. read more

This place definitely has the hipster vibe to it, but it is such a great place to stop for a speciality coffee, fresh cafe breakfast sandwich, or pastry. The lunch and dinner options are just as delicious and filling from the thick bread grilled cheese to the specialty homemade pizzas, and everything in between. On the weekends they have a waffle brunch deal that is well worth the trip and bound to put a smile on your face! You'll have to grab your food and drinks from the counter but then you'll have your choice of traditional tables or comfy couches to choose from to enjoy your meal. Stopped here for a mini study session at night. If I drink caffeine my brain will be so wired I won't be able to sleep, so i just had a hot chocolate and that was the best one I ever had. It wasn't so creamy like how some places would make it. It was subtly creamy and chocolatey; it was a good mixture. I had a great time sitting by the fireplace and chatting for a bit Also a plus, after 8pm, there is 50%off cinnamon rolls, muffins, and scones. AND there is a student discount of 15%! read more

I have found myself hard at work at the Transit Rd (near Maple Rd) location a lot recently. This location has the same great food, drinks, and services as other locations. The staff have been extremely well attentive. My interactions have been with friendly and caring employees who enjoy the service industry. I have witnessed the staff wiping down tables and cleaning up more than just the bins of dirty dishes at this location. This location has less of a crowd during the day. I've found that it only becomes busy after 7pm on week days. There is both inside and outside seating. The environment here is much more relaxed. The only real down side to this more work-conducive environment, is a lack of power outlets. Only two tables near the window, 1 table against the back wall by the ATM, and the couch "fire pit" area have usable outlets that I've found. Each of these areas only has two outlets per table. The front window faces the sun set, and during that time it can get rather warm sitting in the window where most of the power outlets are. This location's driveway is close enough to Maple Rd that it can be difficult to make a left. The driveways are also located directly across from the Transit Rd left hand turning lane, sometimes making it impossible to turn into their lot. I recommend that you do a U-turn at the next light, or head North on Transit with Sheridan behind you. You can also get in through the BJ's lot, if you do not want to make a U-turn. It can get a bit chilly once the sun sets. They seem to really pump their air conditioning. The bathroom feels like a walk in cooler (not freezer). This location has ample parking. Is in walking distance of a lot of businesses, restaurants, and stores along Transit road. They have an ATM. Their bathrooms have always been clean. They accept credit cards and cash. So far this is my favorite location. read more

I work nearby and this Spot location is great for me to get out of the office and meet with people. As a youth minister, Spot gives me a cool place to grab any hip drink with a teen or young adult. The space is cool and comfy and the staff are always engaging. I'll be coming back more and more, and will almost certainly have people in tow. read more

It took them 25 min to fry an egg and put it on a bagel. Of course I have nothing better to do than wait for a breakfast bagel in a fast food place. Was there a line? Nope. They also added bacon to it which I didn't ask for and don't eat. Great job at losing a customer. read more

6/16/2019: I felt bad giving this place a bad review the first time. I even received a mean message from an anonymous yelper!! So, I gave it another shot. I tried the drive through this time ... it was raining out, so why not? Ugh. Lucky that I wasn't in a hurry. There was one car ahead of me that was already at the window. I ordered a bagel w cream cheese and a bagel sandwich. The person taking the order seemed to understand the order and repeated it back to me clearly. I waited for 15 MINUTES behind the person at the window!! I thought of leaving but, like I said, not in a hurry. I finally get to the window and they only made half the order!! She goes back to check and someone else comes back and says she misunderstood. What??? So I pay for my order and he says I have to pull ahead and they'll bring it out to me. 15 MINUTES later she's out in the parking lot, can't find me and returns to the building. Ugh. So I pull back around to the window to retrieve my bagel. She says she couldn't find me!!! Oh my goodness. How does this place stay in business?? read more

I think this has to be my least favorite spot location. The barista who took my order was super sweet but waited 5-7 minutes for a toasted bagel with just butter for the guy in back to make. Not a wrap or a salad, a bagel with butter. Plus when I finally get to sink my teeth in, it's drenched in butter. Like the bagel is slippery. It's a good bagel but would have been 10xs better if it was faster and a whole lot less butter. read more

Officially my new favorite spot to get work done at. Since the location is a little odd for transit road, I think the customer flow is on the low side at certain times (which is great news for someone looking to cozy up with coffee near an outlet!) The service was great and I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my grande coffee as the worker informed me it was an old brew and that he could whip up a new pot quickly. Impressive service, clean environment, warm fireplace, and free water refill station. I can't wait to be back and maybe try some food! read more

First ....... If you're a coffee shop your coffee should be just about perfect. And, the people behind the counter should understand "coffee lingo". What's so difficult about "grande one pump fat-free sugar-free vanilla latte"? I mean I order it all the time at coffee shops everywhere and no one ever bats an eye. And, I've never had to repeat myself three times. Second..... When you order a hot beverage in a coffee shop it should be HOT. Not tepid.... Not luke-warm..... But HOT. I order latte specifically for that reason. I like my coffee light and I like it hot..... and by ordering latte, which is espresso with steamed milk, I usually get what I want. Not today. This beverage was tasty enough but just a few degrees above room temperature.....blech! Sure the setting is nice and clean and the employees are friendly. And, I love the long table by the fireplace. Perfect for doing some work or hanging with a few friends. But I must say that the whole place just kind of misses something. Maybe it's too clean..... too perfect..... too much of a "Mac-Coffee Shop" trying to be cool in the suburbs. Honestly, it just doesn't work. read more

Even though the Spot chain has commercialized (and this one seems super far from the emo/hipster Spot days in the late 90's), I'm still not the biggest fan. I liked the China Black iced tea I had and the atmosphere is decent. The food though totally fresh and edible was majorly lacking for me. I had a chicken feta wrap, greens on the side. It was okay, but if they're typically that stingy on the chicken, I wouldn't opt to order it again. It cost me $11 for my tea and wrap, which I though was steep. Would have been closer to $12 if it hadn't been "customer appreciation day" which included a 10% discount (hey, every little bit of extra change helps these days). For only small bits of chicken and a whole lot of greens (few peppers too come to think of it!), I can't believe I had to pay that much... I would really like to try a breakfast sandwich here some morning. Will update when I give it another chance... But for several dollars less, I'll opt for Subway next time for lunch and breakfast. read more

I love coffee. I think I mentioned it in my previous review but I'm going to say it anyway. I usually go places with coffee in my hand. Sometimes I wonder if I need to attend CA (coffee anonymous). Lately I've been coming to spot coffee on this location, and so far I like it. It's not as crowded as the other spot coffee (ie. Elmwood or Main st). I don't usually order food, mostly just coffee or dessert, depends on my mood. My latest obsession is their caramel mocha chocolate cake with whipped cream filling which was super moist and tasty. Their cafe mocha tasted good and even the black coffee wasn't taste like water. The seating area is spacious for customers to eat or to pretend busy with the computer. There's a sofa available next to a fire place. This place hasn't disappointed me yet and I hope I don't need to update my review with a lower rating. Maybe with a better one once I try their sandwich or breakfast. As far as the wall outlet for computer, I don't really need it because I don't sit more than 2 hours to do some work. So I'm not sure where the outlet is. Great service, nice sitting area, and the restroom is clean. I will definitely come back again. Parking is easy to come in, hard to get out as Transit road is always busy. So be prepared. read more

I come here quite a bit. Everything I've ever gotten has been delicious! I highly recommend the vegan berry muffin as well as the veggie burger panini. As far as drink selections, they've got mostly anything you'd want. Colin is officially going to be the assistant manager and he does a phenomenal job. Spot coffee has been a longtime favorite of mine. I usually go with my favorite, a chai tea latte. In my opinion, they have the best chai in the area, second only to Cream & Sugar's blend in Lockport. I've been to their locations on Transit, Williamsville and Elmwood and all three have plenty of seating and great service. They move quickly, in my experience, so the wait for your food/beverage is a lot better than it'd usually be at a Starbucks. Another reason I like this mini-chain is because they're unique to Buffalo! I want to give them five stars, but their prices are really steep. I paid $5.06 for a small dirty chai latte (not everything is that expensive) and it's just a bit too much in my opinion. Because of that I treat myself only once in a while - it's always worth it though! Really great place to go alone to study or read. Very cosy atmosphere with a fire place and decor. Great coffee and hot drinks. The food is slightly more processed then I usually eat, I was looking for more of a home made sandwich selection. My chicken pesto sandwich was good, but as I said, the chicken seems to b pre packaged and probably frozen at some point. Not sure if they actually cook here or just warm the food up in a microwave. This place doesn't need a intro but if you live around Amherst or clarence area then this spot location is closer to you. We celebrated our friend's b'day with a dessert deli cake and Spot's coffee and snack with atleast 15 people. I loved the privacy and there is plenty of space around to sit. The staff was very courteous about us bringing cake from outside and those who are not coffee fans got the milk shakes. They have pizzas, sandwiches and snacks too. This is a little bit of an update from a previous review almost 2 years ago: I love Spot Coffee. From the original one (original for me) on Elmwood to the Spot at Main and Union in Williamsville, to my latest fave, Transit and Greiner-- I am a fan! I usually get the same thing at any of the locations and the quality and service are usually consistent. This location though, is very convienent for me. It's not Spot's fault, but it is VERY difficult to try to turn left into the lot from Transit, depending on what time of day you're there. Use caution, or go in through the M&T entrance on Greiner, after bank hours. I usually get a Power Protein shake, strawberry banana flavor. It's made from a mix, so it's pretty consistent, but they had coconut and lime flavors for coffees over the summer and I had someone mix that up for me instead- at Main & Union it was perfect, tasted like a pina colada. Here, it tasted more banana-y but still very good. I love their chamomile tea. This location has become cozier since it opened and it looks like they added more seating. The fireplace was going when I was there last week and it was nice and toasty sitting next to it. read more

I've gone to school for 4 years, here in Buffalo and have studied at every Spot Coffee in town, because that's just what I do, apparently. As a result, I've also dined and drank at each one of these locations and up until recently, my favorite location was Spot on Main St. in Williamsville. No more, now. Spot on Transit is HANDS DOWN the BEST Spot location there is in WNY and - dare I say - of ALL Spot Locations (I've even been to the one in Toronto). The Staff are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I spent upwards of about 10 hours a day here and constantly see them providing the absolute best customer service they possibly can. They're constantly tending to the tables, bringing food and drink out to customers, cleaning and polishing, and giving birth to the best atmosphere anyone can ask for. Business meetings, study groups, and social outings are all had here and no one has ever left without a large smile or a delicious beverage in their hands made LOVINGLY by the staff. They've made me feel welcome and at home every single time I've come in here and THEY'RE the reason why I've been passing all my exams, recently. I LOVE this SPOT and I LOVE this STAFF!!!!!! Truly honest, good, wholesome, welcoming, and hospitable people. Love this place! Classic Spot Coffee with my favorite Coffee, Great food. The muffins are amazing. May be the best thing about this place is the very hip vibe. This Spot Coffee does not see a lot of traffic, which is nice if you want a quite place to sit down and study, read, or meet with someone. It's doesn't have the hip trendy vibe that the Spot Coffee's on Elmwood or Downtown have, but it's a little classier and cleaner. One cool thing that they do have is a fireplace, which is kind of cool to look at and enjoy. read more

Their iced caramel macchiatos are heavenly and they have signs on the tables to flip once you leave to make sure that it stays clean. Ive given this location numerous chances...it's the EJ Mannuel of cafés, it has potential but can never seem to rise to the occasion and provide great results. Took them 30 minutes for 2 Mikes Sandwiches on this visit. Mind you other people who arrived after me were getting their orders. Previous visits provided the same results, it always takes forever to fry 2 eggs and slap it on a bagel. It wasnt all that busy either. Its pretty much the only thing I come here for, Im not a huge fan of their coffee. If you are in a hurry, go elsewhere. If you are meeting someone, order early and expect to wait. read more

I visited this location for the first time last week. I've been to most of the other locations throughout the years, including those outside of Buffalo. Compared to the others, this is my least favorite location. While the location is accessible and well-located with plenty of parking, it simply lacks the eclectic, community vibe that other locations feature. Outlets for my laptop were hard to claim. There was a cozy lounge area, complete with big couches and a fireplace, which was a plus. The primary issue I encountered was with the employee interactions. When I arrived, the barista taking my order was friendly and upbeat. After I requested the chicken pesto sandwich, he asked if I wanted white or wheat bread. I replied with the wheat selection. A few moments later, another employee (perhaps his manager?) burst out of the kitchen and said "How many times do I have to tell you that there is no such a thing as wheat focaccia bread?" My barista was incredibly apologetic both to him and to me. I tried to lighten the situation with humor, but I felt bad for the employee and slightly awkward myself. I've been a retail manager in the past and disciplining employees in front of customers is demeaning and a killer of morale. About an hour later, I witnessed a similar situation crop up again. The same manager yelled at the barista for taking too long of a break in front of other customers. Again, the barista hung his head in shame and apologized profusely, saying that he had accidentally lost track of time and that it wouldn't happen again. And, like the last time, I felt bad for the friendly young man. I know the frustrations that managing others can bring, but, as a patron, it was an uncomfortable situation to watch. On a positive note, my (white) focaccia sandwich with pesto chicken was yummy and my Cocomoca was on par with ones I've had from other locations. WiFi was pretty decent and, despite frigid weather outside, the dining area was kept at a comfortable temperature. I was able to work there for several hours without issue. read more

This has been our #1 coffee shop for over a year. We are in the Williamsville location almost every day and the baristas know our order when we walk in. They are very friendly and welcoming, especially Chole and Paige. They are fantastic with customers and also make an incredible caramel macchiato. We feel like we have a close connection with the people there and they make the experience so much better. Their food and coffee is always amazing, we never have any complaints. It has consistently been our favorite spot to hang out and we will continue to go there for our coffee because of the inviting atmosphere and stellar baristas. read more

Update on SPoT....it is still the same bunch of meh-ness, maybe even worse. I had a really strange experience here recently. I ordered an iced coffee, paid and had a seat while I waited for them to get my drink. The barista then called for me, saying they were out of iced coffee and asked if I would want something else instead. Okay, out of iced coffee at a coffee shop? What a bummer, but I understand things happen so I asked if I could have an iced chai instead. I remained in my seat and soon the barista called me over. So she says I need to pay the difference between the iced coffee and iced chai. Are you kidding me?? You're out of something and offer me something else and want me to pay the difference that's what like 0.75 cents or something? I got slightly upset at this and said I wanted my money back. I am never a difficult customer but yikes....oh and they got rid of the student discount. Boo. read more
