I am sad to report that this location is closing because it is one of my favorite places to meet up with people for meetings and to work on my computer. It is a great location and I will be sad to see it go. I went over and got an iced chai latte with a Mike breakfast sandwich. Both of those were delicious as always. I added sausage to the sandwich which goes so well with the cream cheese on the sandwich. The latte was great, they added in some vanilla and brown sugar for a little more flavor. I even got in early enough to get my hands on an Oreo dream bar which are usually already sold out when I go in. It was amazing. So creamy and the base is brownie-like with crumbled oreos and the flavors are so sweet but not overly sweet. I will definitely miss this location and now will look for a new SPoT to hang out at. read more

The service is slow, and the baked goods are stale. The coffee is okay, but it is nothing to write home about by any means. This particular SPoT Coffee has a sign saying dogs aren't allowed on either its patio or in its dining room, citing New York Public Health Law 1352-E. While the statute certainly exists and it makes sense that dogs are not allowed in the dining room, the statute does not prohibit dogs on the patio when, as in this case, the patio is accessible directly from the parking lot without accessing the dining room. If SPoT wishes not to be dog friendly, that is certainly fine. Own up to it as a policy. read more

I don't go to coffee shops on a regular basis. I know that coffee shops are a second home for some people. When I am in the mood to take a break and sit for awhile sipping coffee, my neighborhood Spot Coffee is where I like to go. I always order the Granda Decaf Cappuccino and sometimes I'll get something sweet from their dessert case. They have a frequent buyer punch card that once full of punches, you get free stuff. It's taking a while but I'm getting close to filling the card. Also it's great that they have free wifi. read more

I really like this Spot Coffee location. We stopped there in the middle of the afternoon for a cappuccino. Usually I just drink black coffee but sometimes I just have a craving for a cappuccino. When this happens we stop here. There were probably a dozen or so people inside. Quite a mixture of people. Everything from folks at laptops working, a mother and a couple kids, a few older gentlemen, a high-school girl with her mom and coach taking about college options (could hear their conversation), etc etc. And us. We ordered our cappuccino, decaf this time since it was later in the afternoon and grabbed a nice croissant to go along with it. Was not really hungry but who can resist the baked good case. I ordered iced coffee since they don't have cold brew. It was "Japanese style" which turns out is just a fancy way to say pour hot coffee over ice. It was disgusting. Tasted like pouring the left over warm Folgers in a Mr. Coffee over ice. If you're a coffee shop that can't make a decent cup of iced coffee, what are you doing?! My real frustration came when I ordered an egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant which the sign said was a $1.45 upcharge. I thought that was a little steep but love a croissant. When I got my receipt, I learned a croissant is actually a $3.40 UPCHARGE!!! So my egg and cheese sandwich was $12! I can't fathom there is any food vendor charging you anywhere near this to justify this kind of upcharge. When I pointed the difference on the sign vs. the register to less than friendly woman behind the counter she said "oh" and shrugged and then never changed it while I was there so for all I know they just keep doing this. So inconsistent. I came in last week for a spinach and egg omelette and it was beautiful; fluffy and filled to the brim. Today, not only is the omelette tiny, it barely has any cheese, is overcooked and actually crunchy inside. It's bad. Plus you're out of Franks. Also, last time they gave me a beautiful bowl of fruit and this time I got 5 quarter slices of strawberries to replace the bagel the omelette came with. For $20 with a coffee, no thank you! On top of the disappointing food, the young woman you have at the cash register is miserable. Not a smile for anyone. She looks mad to be here. The staff all need re-training!!! read more

This location seems to be hit or miss for a lot of people - fortunately for me, it's usually a hit. I come here once in a while, usually to do a little bit of work and get out of the house. I know I can get a good, thick omelet here with a bagel as my bread on the side, and I typically always get a chai latte which is typically on point every time I order it. I've come here during the week, on mornings and in afternoons, and they never really seem to be busy. I like that about this location, in comparison to the one in Williamsville which is always swamped and takes forever to get your order out. Just recently I ate here around dinnertime for the first time, and I think my panini came out in under five minutes. The food here is pretty good - I wish Spot's menu was a little more extensive in general, but I guess you don't want to make this place a full-blown breakfast or lunch spot. I'll pick it over the Williamsville Spot, but I'll also pick any other local coffee shop over this one. Still, I know it's pretty reliable when it comes to finding something good to eat, and being a place where I can get some work done in peace. read more

Worst customer service ever. 1 star. Will update soon. I spotted this place when I was a teenager and fell in love with their Chicken Pesto Foccaccia. It's not as good as it was, but it's still tasty. The original Spot Coffee Downtown on Delaware is still the best one. But this location is excellent for Clarence because it has tons of comfortable seating and really lovely decor and very very nice service. They make the same sandwiches as downtown does. The chicken Focaccia with pesto is really good but doesn't taste quite as flavorful as it used to. Maybe the years are playing tricks on me. Also I tried their mocha shake and honestly it didn't really get me going. It was too heavy on the coffee. But my coffee loving friend really enjoyed finishing it off for me. Spot is a kind of place where you can relax and enjoy some good food with friends. I ordered a hummus wrap with cucumber,tomato, and spinach. It was very good, but at times the hummus would overdo the rest of the wrap. You can either pick greens or chips to go with it. I heard the chips are very yummy, but I picked greens instead to try and feel healthier. The customer service people were nice and welcoming as soon as I walked in. The music in the background was nice and I like the decor of the coffee house. I would 10/10 recommend spot to anyone who likes to chill out and enjoy a good meal. read more

I've come a lot more often to this Spots and I wanted to update my review to 4 stars. I think all the other things I like about this Spots remains, but I have since had a lot more positive experiences in terms of their service. Regarding seating, I think it's a seasonal thing as well. There are definitely more customers when UB is in session (a LOT of students are here to study) and when the weather is cold (seems like there are a lot less customers in the summer time). They also have switched our their plastic straws to paper straws, which I think is a good, environmentally-friendly change. :) read more

The patio is great in warm weather, the bar area along the window is a good seating option if you are alone and need an outlet, and there are many seating options if you have a variety of people in your party. Love love LOVE this place. I come frequently and I'm always happy and today was no different. This particular location has a special on Belgian waffles for only $5 on weekends. They have several choices such as the original, which I choose, but also apple cinnamon or banana with chocolate or caramel. It was very good. I was with someone during this visit so we also shared a Mike sandwich with sausage. There were lots of flavors on the sandwich and the cream cheese made it stay moist and delicious. For a drink I got the Mucho Cinco Shake. I think this is the perfect blend of strong coffee and sweetness. Just don't get it if you're counting calories! read more

I'm a big fan of SPoT Coffee, and love this location in particular. This morning I went in for breakfast and was a little nervous there might not be enough seating. The parking lot was packed, but I went in anyway because I braved the weather for a SPoT omelet and I needed to see if there might be one chair for me. Sure enough, plenty of seating. (I think SPoT customers must drive separately and meet up there.) The girl who took my order is the same one who has taken my order the last few times I've been in. I really like her a lot. She's very friendly, extremely accommodating, and was really patient when I was in recently with my 79-year-old mom, who didn't know what she wanted and took a while deciding. I've found all the staff here to be really friendly and laid back, which is the vibe I look for in this kind of place. Usually I go for the omelet, which is HUGE, by the way. You can choose your bread (I usually opt for the sesame bagel). It's plenty for two people to split if they're not huge eaters. My husband won't split with me because he wants to whole omelet to himself, but he can never finish his bagel. One of my favorite coffee drinks is an iced breve latte. They know how to do it right here! It is consistently good, which is more than I can say for the more convenient Starbucks. (If SPoT had a drive-thru, I'd come more often!) A lot of times I'll stop in after my workout for a protein power shake. I don't get their pre-packaged fruit mix, though, because it's too much sugar. If you want a real protein shake (not some dessert that pretends to be healthy), opt for the weigh protein with fresh fruit. I usually get a banana, strawberries and blueberries in mine. But if you do want a dessert-like drink, they have plenty of those to choose from too! That Cinco Shake is dangerously delicious! Ordered a roasted turkey panini and a grande mocha for here, NOT to go. Prices were a bit high, but I figured the food was good the last time I ate here. Was very surprised when my name was called that my dinner was in a take out container. Perhaps they don't have plates for eat in any longer? The utensils are still metal next to the take out utensils. What I will say about the food is that it was edible. Very little turkey, iceberg lettuce, wide sliced tomatoes and I'm not sure what to say about the cheese. Seemed to have a cheese whizz texture to it. The greens were fresh, but required a knife to eat. The container of dressing must be stored in a freezer and was almost thawed. The knife was needed to spread it over the greens and let the room heat thaw it the rest of the way. This place seems better suited to getting a coffee drink, albeit pricey, to chat with friends. Spot sometimes hits the spot. I've always like spot coffee. In college I would study there a lot. This was my first time back in a long time. I remember when spot was first starting out. Now it's a big thing in buffalo with many locations. The transit location is my favorite. There's plenty of seating inside and out. What I like about spot is that you can grab a cup of coffee sit there for hours and not feel rushed. No one will ask you to leave. The staff is always very friendly and you'll get your order usually pretty fast. FOOD: Sunday while I was there I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich (9.95). Pretty solid sandwich. I really liked the cheese they put on it. The chips that came with it weren't great. The sandwich was very filling though and I was satisfied with that. Drinks: I do not care for there coffee. I just don't like the taste. I had one of there specialty teas that I enjoyed very much. Let's break it down: -Atmosphere- This Spot location is very spacious inside. It definitely has that modern bistro vibe, and it's an incredible place to get work done (if you like a little bit of random background conversation to help you focus). There's ample seating available, with a mixture of chairs and more comfortable couches available. The staff is also very friendly and is able to get your order out in around 5-10 minutes. Also, there's outdoor seating under Spot-themed umbrellas, perfect for any day in the summer! -Food- The only thing I was able to try today was their Java shake, and it tasted very good! Not only did the espresso keep me as awake as possible (which was great for productivity), there was a delightfully strong taste of vanilla that wasn't too sweet. I'd definitely come back again to try their food, but if you're just looking for coffee fix, this place is pretty good. -Things to Consider- 1) As far as price is concerned, you'd be looking at around Starbucks prices. Granted, the quality of their coffee is much better than, say, Tim Hortons, but it's something to keep in mind. 2) This next point is probably personal thing, but they've gone green with paper straws. While this is a commendable initiative, the straws tend to break apart very easily. Came here for a visit with a friend for a beverage and to just talk. I got a frozen wild berry drink that was super good and was ready really quickly. They've got lots of tables for studying and free WiFi for customer use. This one was interesting. Phenomenal entrance and appearance. The design and layout are pretty much perfect. Spacious, plenty of parking, decently priced, and a good selection. They have all the bells and whistles, no doubt. The staff was all under 21. Not saying that's good or bad, but they didn't know their stuff. That's not even that important. Now the coffee, it wasn't my favorite. I got a latte and it just didn't do it for me. The absolute worst! I was told this past Saturday, December 17th, 2022, that they were closing in an hour so they didn't have any coffee and we're not going to make any. An hour till closing, with no coffee available in a COFFEE place??? So my friend and I ordered hot chocolate, which was more like water with a touch of chocolate in it. Absolutely disgusting! Counterperson/manager just repeats corporate policies which are definitely not customer friendly! Since the husband and wife team sold Spot Coffee to a corporate entity in 2020, it's gone totally downhill. No longer a Buffalo favorite, it's now just owned by corporate investors who don't know a thing about food or customer service. I'd recommend going anywhere else. We waited 20+ minutes for 2 bagels and butter following up 3 times for the order and being told each time it was coming right up. We were told our ticket disappeared. Visited this coffee shop the other day with a friend of mine. She ordered a regular coffee, not a specialty drink, just a coffee. To her and my surprise, the employee said, "I'm sorry, our coffee machine isn't working". Umm...isn't this supposed to be a coffee shop? It was in the middle of the day, so they weren't getting ready to close, either. This is one of my favorite spots to study! Ha do you see what I did there? Moving on from that incredibly corny joke, Spot coffee is really one of the best coffee shops around. I've been to a number or their other locations as well, but this one is the closest to me. You will pretty much always find students studying here, people coming for meetings or really just to enjoy their amazing coffee and food. I'm a big fan of their ice and hot coffee but they have a number of other beverages as well. Their food is really good and always tastes pretty fresh! I'm a big fan of the Mike's breakfast sandwich and their veggie cream cheese is the best I've ever had! There is plenty of seating, and the staff has always been pretty nice. They've switched over to paper straws which actually don't completely disintegrate like many of the others I've encountered. I'm going to add a few tips as well :) read more

For this review I'm going to be very specific. I came to this Spot on 1/25/2018 at 9:30 pm as my wife was craving one of their Chai Latte's. We saw a sign saying that they now had a drive through so we decided to try it out. I spent the better part of 5 minutes waiting there getting no answer as I called into the microphone, and another minute or two trying to get the attention of the manager and her employee talking at the counter to no avail. So we went inside to get my wife's drink order. When asked why no one answered, I got an answer that was, in my humble opinion, not acceptable. I was told that because they don't typically get customers at the drive through this late they don't keep the head set on.... Ok I have 2 issues with this: 1st, if this is the case turn off the sign so people don't waste their time. 2nd the owner put a lot of money into refurbishing this location to put in this drive through and I'm reasonably certain they would expect their employees to do what they are paid to do, not what they feel like. This put me off pretty badly, in fact the only thing that salvaged this review was the fact they apologized profusely and discounted her order. read more

I'm out running errands decide to stop in to get a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I should've known it was an issue when it took 10 minutes before my order was taken. I placed my order, got my coffee and sat down and waited and waited and waited. I know staffing has been hard since Covid so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But 45 minutes later I was still waiting. Slowly people before me were getting their food. But then people behind me started getting their food. So I ask where is my sandwich? Gentleman from the kitchen goes back to the kitchen to check and never comes back out. Another person comes over and I tell them the same thing. She goes to check and comes to tell me the printer in the kitchen ran out of paper or ink and some orders got lost. So I'm tired of waiting and ask for my money back.
