I like this Spot better than many of the other locations. The feeling is homey and comfortable. The staff is friendly. There are upstairs and downstairs outdoor spaces. For as cute as the establishment is, there is serious improvement to be done involving staff. They forgot my water bottle, and my hubby mentioned on 2 separate occasions they've forgotten his pastries. However, as I was able to easily eavesdrop on the conversation between the guy who was behind me in line (who used to work there) and the barista (who is the last remaining crew member from his days), this Spot had been through 3 managers and have finally landed on one who the girl said "was nice." Maybe if a manager sticks around for more than what even a teenager thinks is a short amount of time (am I right, twenty-somethings?!) maybe the staff will get whipped into shape and be a bit more efficient. Once that happens, this could easily become the best Spot in the area! read more

This place can be amazing. Great food and great coffee, all in an amazingly beautiful historic building. The problem is that they don't hire enough soft handed, minimum wage protesting, metro sexual, coffee gurus to run the place at peak hours. So on a weekend morning be prepared to wait an hour for your egg and cheese sandwich. read more

I love that Spot Coffee has come to Orchard Park. During my senior year of high school we had "open" which allowed seniors to leave school and go out for a break. Spot was my hangout during my open and I loved it there. The staff is so friendly, the environment is clean and the food is delicious. I'm not sure what they do back in the kitchen but whenever I order a bagel it takes longer then normal to cook a simple bagel, however they are always delicious and well worth the wait! This spot recently went through a renovation that made it less like a snuggly and warm independent coffee shop, which most SPoT Coffees are like, they made the decor more college campus-like and it's a bit uncomfortable to sit in. The items on the menu are overpriced, but I don't mind it for the drinks as they are well-made. Their sandwiches and whatnot are okay, but they are quite expensive for what you get. The staff is always friendly and helpful! Which is why this spot, overall, gets a high rating. read more

Always great service at this spot. A personal favorite here is the chicken pesto panini, definitely try if you're looking for something new to try.. The bread they use for it is amazing and I'd also recommend the greens instead of the chips if you're looking to go healthy, very simple dressing but actually great. read more

An experience? And an Experience! The industrial charm, the loft, fireplace, and outdoor seating make this a place for all! Yo feel like you've gone back in time driving to this "SpoT"! The town is old world and it's obvious they want to keep it this way. I was from out of town and couldn't have found a better place to enjoy a glass of earl grey iced tea! My only negative....and why it's not 5 stars, was after previous guests leave, the tables are not cleaned. I searched for a place to sit without crums, coffee, water, or some other sticky stuff on tables. It was a bit nasty. Change this and you get 5 stars all day long! Now, for the other experience? I'm not some person who sees things, or imagines things either, but I saw something today, well Sunday! I was with a friend and when leaving to take a walk, we passed the steps heading to the loft. We both heard something, plain as day! A ball bouncing on 2 steps. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a ball with a silver star on it. It was an air filled bouncy ball about 6" in diameter and appeared a dirty blue, maybe green with a red band? It was there and gone so quick, but the details are burned in my mind. I turned to my friend and we both said, at the same time, as we're looking up the EMPTY stairs, did you hear a ball bouncing? Ok, that's it! I'm not crazy and I'm not making this up and lastly, I wasn't looking for anything of this kind. It wasn't scary at all, but felt like a child was playing on steps, but not a living child. First of all, I would like to say that this location is overwhelmingly white and republican. However, the employees are primarily the best part of this dining experience. I have just indulged my oral cavity with a delectable CHICKEN PESTO PANINI with a side of greens, or as my amateur Yelpers may like to call it, salad. The male consumers in particular seem to don themselves in plaid and loose fitting denim pants. It is respectable and modest for a dining area of this caliber. The women, on the other hand... they seem to come in a variety of cloth. The near middle aged women (30s-40s) seem to be stuck in the fashion of the early 2000s, which ergo reflects their political beliefs and respects during the time of George W. Bush. These women are donning the store which, at a time, was a popular belief that gay marriage was immoral, but having homosexual friends was trendy and "in." These consumers, however, not just the ladies, seem to be using "gay" as a SLUR. I don't believe it is my position to put them in their place, but let's not get too personal. Overall, I am disappointed at the stares I received for being a gay man in this facility. I also wish there was an escalator provided instead of a wooden stairwell death trap that leads me to the second level of this building. The architecture seems dangerous and I feel as though I could fall through the rafters at any moment. Also, I would like to add that the water cooler downstairs provided cool, refreshing water that probably will open my pores later, whilst the water "cooler" upstairs dispensed lukewarm and jagged water. A terrible excuse for H2O. AVOID THE UPPER LEVEL AT ALL COSTS! The bottom level is significantly more left winged and safe for the LGBT community. But I guess the republicans deserve to be upstairs so they are "closer to God". Overall, I liked it :) read more

I like supporting local businesses but next time I'm visiting Orchard Park, I'll drive to Panera. The two times I've come to this Spot, I've found the staff to be pretty incompetent. Today, my Mike sandwich came on the wrong bread and was full of turkey (which is not even supposed to be on this sandwich)--problematic since I'm a vegetarian. I was so thrilled when they finally opened a Spot Coffee in the Southtowns. I always order peppermint white mochas (even in July!) and they make them so much better than anywhere else in the area. The staff are always friendly and efficient. I'll start with the good. Same great Spot Coffee food, same great drinks. Beautiful historic building. You can definitely find a place upstairs for some serenity. The lighting isn't the best...a little too bright-fluorescent-commercial. Think Panera. But still, it works. Some nice leather chairs and couches. Spacious. Workers are pleasant. Why is it disappointing? It's clearly meant for your typical residents of Orchard Park. The mural (there's one at every Spot featuring the surrounding area/town) literally made me laugh. In addition to the overall lack of artistic direction the young people in the painting are dressed like Ralph Lauren-wearing, upper-middle-class folk. Maybe I'm being judgmental. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 3...because this pretty much comes down to personal taste. My biggest peeve about this place (been here many times) is that they always give me my drink to go. They never ask if it's for here or to go, but since I'm eco-conscious, at first I was always saying "for here, please." Almost never got it for here. But I never complained...one because they're still new and trying to figure things out, and two because it's not an issue that can be fixed...the cup is already wasted. Why bother the workers? So more recently I started saying "In a mug, please." Now I'd say that works the majority of the time (but not always - argh!). A lot of the music is absolutely terrible 90s pop. But then sometimes it's really great jazz. It depends. I'm still insanely grateful for this spot though, because if you live in OP (or West Seneca, like me), where else are you going to go?? My girlfriend and I went in to get a coffee for myself and a Chi Latte for herself. When my girlfriend received the Chi Latte she took a sip and said it tastes like Pumpkin. I could smell the pumpkin myself from a couple feet away. We went back in to see if they had made a mistake. One girl Behind the counter opened up the drink and smelled it, then not knowing asked the person who made it. He didn't even look up before he said it was a Chi Latte. The girl then put the cap back on the drink and handed it back to my girlfriend saying "i guess that's how our Chi Latte tastes." Absolutely Despicable. Never going back EVER again. read more

SPoT is the best coffee place in Buffalo/Rochester. They have around 4 locations and this one is very neat in a restored building in Orchatd Park village. For a coffee shop the food is also way above average with fresh paninis, wraps, and even pizza not to mention the delicious Belgian waffles for breakfast. read more

Great location, and OP definitely needs a good coffeehouse. But this one is failing. I frequented this Spot for months after it opened. But the ventilation must be horrible because the kitchen has stunk the whole place up. The last couple of times I went there, I left with my clothes smelling like rancid grease. Can't even step in there anymore, it smells so bad. Blech! read more
