This place is a gem. Don't decide strictly based on the printed menu - it's the specials that make you want to come back. Our group all ordered from the specials menu. The lobster, shark, and red snapper were all cooked to perfection. And the drinks were great too. At first we were disappointed because a nearby restaurant was closed but then we beach walked down to Spratnet and boy oh boy were we happy. We watched Calvin make some drinks for loud boys then we all chose the Lime & Coconut frozen drinks, made from scratch. Calvin outs in that wedge of lime, ice and a concoction of different Cruzan Rums along with the coconut and let it spin. Happiness began. Came back later for lunch. I ordered the special whole Red Snapper and wanted to lick my plate of that incredible sauce covering it. Great lightly cooked vegetables and rice on the side. Awesome. My less adventurous friend had a chili dog that she liked too. Lots of beers and drinks available beach side. Recommend getting to know Calvin! read more

Ordered a Lobster for dinner. They charged us $235.00 for the 1 lobster!! The owner argued with us that the lobster was huge, hence the cost. The waitress just kept looking at us and kept repeating "I am so sorry he is doing this" The lobster just as large at the Landing just up the road, was around $70 and tasted so much better. We will never go back to this place, the guy is a crook! read more

Wonderful dinner for our last night on the island. It was a family affair with husband and wife doing the cooking and their son serving drinks. We had the lobster special (local lobster), tacos and cocktails. Delicious. And also we tried their famous spiced rum "Papawanna" - which was a great way to end the night. We arrived late Saturday night after a long day of traveling. This beach bar and restaurant was winding down but welcomed us as their last customers. Everyone was very friendly, including owners Calvin and Connie and Chef Michael. I tried the conch fritters, best I've ever had. Crispy outside, very moist inside, very flavorful. This is a very nice bar and grill that is located right off of Cane Bay Beach. It overlooks the water. When you envision a beach bar, you come up with something like this. It is a small tike style beach bar that has a limited menu that includes wraps, burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. They also also some of the popular tropical drinks. It is run by a local family. The owner, Calvin, was sitting at the bar while I was there. He was the friendliest person that you would ever meet. I even did a shot with him. You can either sit at the bar or you can get your food/drink and sit at one of the colorful picnic tables on the beach, next to the bar. They have their own restroom that they can give you the key to and have a band come in on weekends to jam out. They host Sunday Reggae Brunch there and other special events. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Wrap, which came with fries. It took about 20 minutes or so for me to get my food, which is pretty good on island time. The fries were good. The wrap was good and juicy too, but it had too much of a kick to it for me. It was almost too hot to really enjoy its flavor. The young man working the bar could have probably been a bit more attentive This is a very nice bar and the only one, at least that I saw, that is beachside. It is run by a hardworking and friendly family. Minus being too spicy, they have good food and very savory drinks. read more

My nephew and I visited Sprat Net restaurant today after a swim at Cane Bay. We got there right as they opened at 5:00 PM. We placed our orders immediately and received our food roughly about 30 minutes afterwards. There is no table service seating. You just choose where you want to sit and order your food at the bar. The food comes out to you in a "to go" container. My nephew ordered a bacon chicken sandwich; however, he received just a plain chicken sandwich, and when he asked about the bacon, it appeared that none was available, or it needed to be cooked. I ordered fish and chips. The highlight of both dishes was the chicken and the fish both had the right balance of crunch to it. The fries were plain and not salted or seasoned. The fish and the chicken were very lightly seasoned. The food was just okay; it served its purpose. The atmosphere is what truly brings out this restaurant. We ate lobster, mahi mahi in coconut curry (my favorite) and conch in butter sauce...the food was delicious!! We met the owners who were such great people, we got to try their homemade rum which I enjoyed very much. We will be stopping in again during our trip. read more

Great lobster lunch on the north shore. We chose two small lobsters and waited as we sipped on cool beverages and watched our family swim with turtles. The presentation was impressive as the lobsters came out served on China. The color array of the presentation was beautiful. The fresh coleslaw served inside the lobster shell along side the grilled lobster. The garlic butter had a Caribbean kick. The baked potato was perfect. And the location on the beach was amazing. The only thing that would improve the experience is a table umbrella. And possibly seating options for rain. read more

Worst service we had during our visit in Stx. Online says that they open at 11 am. We got there at 11:29 and found a lady that was sitting on a beach chair watching on her phone so I asked if she worked there and she said "No. Not yet" which definitely confused me. She then says they open at 11:30 and asks me what time it was so I said 11:30 then she says oh well then 12:00 I'm waiting for my boss. I was super nice and said okay we'll just wait across the street then! She agreed and as the owner rolls up, she signaled it was him so I nodded and we all patiently waited for them to get set up. Another group got there and we both sat at the same time. She took their drink orders, then came to us and took ours. Gives our drinks which was just a margarita,coke and a diet coke- nothing complicated, we didn't ask for anything extra whatsoever. We then asked for a menu which we didn't know was right next to the bar since customers are NOT allowed to approach the bar. We all went back to our seats and about 10 mins or so pass by and she was just very chill doing random things so I raised my hand just to let her know we're ready. Nothing aggressive or anything. She took our order and warned us that the food will take time and also complained that people come to the place expecting fast service and I joked that my friend was just getting "hangry" but no rush and we all laughed. We saw the other group order after us later on even gets another round of beers and here we are with our hot drinks at this point (no ice) Without being checked on again if we wanted anything else and we would've gotten a round of drinks, but we're not allowed to approach the bar and she never checked on us.... We watched her just go in the corner of the bar playing on her phone and looking out in the ocean. At this time there were only 2 tables sat for lunch she had all the time in the world to check on us or give us refills. NOTHING. Sure the food takes time, but there's other thngs you can offer. She was friendlier with other groups with guys though. A family came and she was nice to them. Another group of 2 guys and a girl came, also nice and took care of them right away. Here comes the food... When she said the food was going to take awhile we thought, 30 mins or 40. Food comes out around that time for THE OTHER TABLE. As I said earlier, we ordered FIRST. Not complicated orders either. Quesadilla and tacos... we were patient, but watching that was frustrating. The other group already ate their food and left long after we finally got our food. The family that came after us got their food right after us. So, how does that make sense? We got there before they even opened, ordered before the other group, never got checked or anything. None of us were rude or anything, but we definitely had to say something to the owner- who didn't seem to care either. Also, those lobster photos you see here, that's not on the menu and we weren't even told that exists. Go elsewhere for food or better service. Dominos in the mountain serves better shots and MUCH cheaper. read more

It's conveniently located right at the beach at Cane Bay. The water is lapping at the sandy beach just yards from the bar. Not sure why the address shows St Thomas as the bar is located in Cane Bay, St Croix. Anyway, one of my favorite beach bar experiences. The food is plentiful and outstanding. The drinks are cold and perfect. The staff is super friendly. And the location is perfect for watching the sunset past Hams Bluff. read more
