This boating adventure is ABSOLUTELY worth the price. I only rated four out of five stars because I feel the excursion missed the mark on two elements. The catamaran is very large and easily accommodates the 50 guests on board. There are covered areas for people who want to limit their sun exposure and plenty of places to sprawl out and get your tan on! The staff is friendly, lunch is very good and fresh, and the drinks are delicious. The shuttle that picked us up was clean and comfortable. The ride from Plaza Colon in Old San Juan took about 40 -45 minutes and we were among the first to arrive at the marina. The first stop is at a public beach on an island about 40 minutes from Old San Juan. My understanding from the brochure was that it would be a private beach ( I assumed with no other boats around) but this seems to be the same beach all the tours go to. There's nothing wrong with that, and there's more than enough room for everyone on the beach and in the water, but my expectation based on their brochure was that it would be private. After lunch (and enough time to digest) we sailed over near a private island and dropped anchor for snorkeling. I've read that Puerto Rico overall isn't a big snorkeling destination so I didn't expect much. There were fish, turtles and coral to be seen but it wasn't as spectacular as I've seen elsewhere. People who were willing to dive under the water saw quite a bit more but that's outside of my comfort zone. Also, you can't go to the beach of this island because it actually a private island. Also, you have to swim against some current/wind to get near the reef area which made snorkeling more difficult. Novice snorkelers such as myself might have more fun jumping off the deck and floating around/swimming around rather than trying to snorkel in a somewhat tough environment. Either way, if you go to get some sun and play in the water you should have a blast! I absolutely loved the tour and I would do it again if/when I return to Puerto Rico. read more

Celebrated me and my husband's 1-year wedding anniversary on this trip. This sail blew us away! We didn't expect it to be so beautiful. The sail in seemed short and was pretty smooth. We took Dramamine before and didn't even really need it. We sailed to a reef first and they gave plenty of time for us to check out the fish. It was all so laid back too, and the crew were so nice. I had never snorkeled before and it was easy to catch on. They also provide fins and flotation devices. Guys with beards/facial hair - trim your mustache or the goggles won't suction to your face! Lol the guides provided Vaseline for my husband because that's how accommodating they are! After that, we had a delicious lunch. A full on spread of deli meats for sandwiches, yummy plantain chips/pretzels, deviled eggs, fruit and never ending rum punch/iced coladas (they don't put much rum in them at the beginning of the trip so you don't get sloppy). Next we went to Icacos island and my heart just about stopped. The water is so clear it will blow your mind. We spent the majority of the time there and they'll let you go do your own thing! We snorkeled some more and saw crab and sting rays! There were lots of kiddos aboard but they were all well-behaved luckily! Lol. Met such sweet people and bonded too. The crew really cares about your safety and made sure to take care of all of us the entire time. If you're looking for something to do in P.R. this is it! You can't beat this price, and the fact that they pick you up on a shuttle where you're staying is fantastic. Would 100% recommend you do this. I already want to go again. From the second our shuttle bus picked us up until the second it dropped us off, it was simply fantastic!!! We opted for the Shuttle Bus round trip from our Hotel in San Juan. The driver was on time and even provided a bit of a tour on the way to Fajardo. He explained some PR Culture as well as sites to possibly visit another time. The bus was clean and cool, couldn't have asked for more! On to the actual boat ride!!!! Great staff welcomed us aboard this beautiful Catamaran! We set sail for a small island to get used to snorkeling. A great move, especially for those that hadn't done it before. We spent about 1.5hrs anchored at this island where we could snorkel in shallow water, walk the beach, and just relax. While we were having fun the awesome crew prepared a great lunch for us! Assorted deli meats, tuna, fruit, and snacks! During the whole time, delicious drinks were in full flow. We ate, then set sail for another snorkeling spot. This time, deeper water, coral reef and tons of ocean life. They gave us leftover bread from lunch to feed the fish which was a great experience! After that we set sail back to the marina to close off the trip! The crew was just simply awesome, walked laps around the boat all day offering drinks and snacks. If you're looking for a great time, and escape from the busy San Juan area, or simply want to get away for the day, PLEASE CHECK THIS CRUISE OUT!!! My advice: Bring sunblock, cover-up clothes, a hat, and your smile! It will be a great time! read more

I am so glad I booked with Spread Eagle. My brother got married and we wanted an activity that everyone in our 20 person group could participate in. We opted for the sunset catamaran tour because of timing. They picked us up in a 25-pp shuttle and drove us to the dock. Once on the boat they had a great spread of cold cuts, cheese, veggies, and fruits. The crew was so nice and the hostess came to us wherever we were on the boat when we needed a refill without us even having to ask. Everyone had such a wonderful time and it was so relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend them and will definitely be back for the snorkeling tour next time I am in PR. read more

Wonderful crew, nice fresh lunch, lunch meats, cheeses, tuna,Cole slaw, tomatoes,lettuce, pickles,deviled eggs,fruit platter, oreo cookies, oh and a jar of peanut butter and jelly! Which I was glad for as my daughter and i are pescatarian so she was happy with tuna. Cooler full of sodas, bar with all you care for rum coctails, was very pleased with areas we stopped at and amount of time given at both locations. Now for the above and beyond part! I unfortunately swallowed a little sea water while snorkeling and ended up getting sick crew was very understanding and on top it, bartender gave me a cold pack to put on neck and paper towel with alcohol to smell, other crew member washed up back of deck area and me, and immediately handed me paper towels! Probably the better tour I've been on we usually don't go because there usually so boring,or rushed or anoyoing. I made the right choice ! Had a wonderful trip with lovely captain and crew....they made the day terrific...would go again any time!!!!

Let me start with the hotel transportation. It's 18$ per person for a 2 way trip from your hotel to the boat , about an hour ride from San Juan. The price is great considering a one way Uber to the boat would cost more than the 2 way trip ! But with that being said. You get what you pay for. The bus felt like it was going to fall apart! Every seat was loose and shaky . This is definitely not a ride you can relax in! That added for a rough start to the trip literally . Other than that I expected more . If you enjoy snorkeling and want awesome views this is not the place for you. If you are just starting out and learning it's great ! There was one rude woman working she happened to be the only one I had the unfortunate opportunity of dealing with but the others seemed cool. This is one of the cheaper tours and the only one we could book the day before so like I said you get what you pay for but not bad for the price. read more

Difficult to find so leave a little early and don't let the amount of people that will board fool you, the whole set up is perfect. 1st stop is a shallow beach area where you can get some practice a snorkeling in (I can't swim) then over to an official reef where there are fish everywhere. My boyfriend & I booked a day sail on the Spread Eagle based on the recommendation of a friend and it was awesome! There were a few families with children so it wasn't as turnt up as I would have like but it was still pretty relaxing . The girls at the bar kept the Rum Punch flowing and the lunch was pretty good. We went on the boat to celebrate my friends birthday. The crew was really nice. The boat was a nice size. Good size boat. They had two types of drinks. pina colada and Rum Punch. The rum punch was okay. For lunch, they gave us tuna salad, with cold cuts, with some cookies. They had soda as well. We went to to the beach for like an hour and half. And then we went in the middle of the ocean and people were jumping off the boats. I had a good experience. I would do it again. The other boats seem better though. They had their own cups that was able to go in the water, their music was loud. So we just partied with the others lol read more

This was fantastic! The crew was professional, outgoing and helpful to new snorkelers. The price was great for a fun day filled with all the drinks, food and snorkeling you could want. When they say "sandwich bar" that is an understatement. There was lots of delicious food. The catamaran was big enough for all the participants and very clean. We went to two different locations. The first had a beautiful beach and was good to practice your snorkeling before we headed to the next stop. This is a must do in Fajardo. read more

My friends and I went on the 9:30 boat ride while we were here for spring break. Overall, it was a great trip and definitely one of my favorite things we did here. The staff was super friendly, the lunch was really good and fresh, and the snorkeling was good. They advertise unlimited drinks, which they did have, but there was barely any alcohol in them (bring your own alcohol to throw in there if you're trying to get turnt!!). It included two stops, but the captain told us the first stop, Icacos, was more of 'practice' for the second site, which made sense since there weren't that many fish and very little coral. After that we had a make your own sub sandwich bar for lunch and that was delicious. The second stop, Lovos, was great because there was a lot of coral and fish, but they didn't mention beforehand that it's outside of a private island so you can't actually go on the shore there. Still, we were able to jump off the boat and had a lot of fun. The only two complaints I could have about this trip is that they didn't play music consistently/loud enough to hear, but we asked them if we could plug in our phone and they let us DJ so that was good at least. Also, I guess I expected this to be more like a booze cruise with the free drinks, but there weren't really that many young people, and actually quite a few families, so if you're looking for all college kids for your college spring break, this might not be your scene. Overall, a fun day trip that was well worth the price, would recommend. read more

Hello! Wonderful experience overall, but here is general feedback. Plastic cups flew off of the boat all day. That is a LOT of plastic affecting Icacos and surrounding beaches when catamaran tours visit every day. Very sad in a time when we are trying to be more environmentally aware. Hold on to your cup and reuse! Another bit of feedback from everyone I spoke to: More time at Icacos beach. The snorkeling there was amazing and beach fabulous! Once we left there, we were anchored at a reef off shore for two hours. Way too long!!! We all wished we had more time at beach!!! Please rethink! PS: The crew was amazing. read more

Sunning, boating, snorkeling... What more could you want on a vacay trip? We had a party of 4 and everything ran smoothly. The reservation was easy, sign in was easy, and everything else ran like a well oiled machine. The crew was friendly and helpful. They gave us general info, rules, guidelines, etc, at various points of the trip-which was helpful and appreciated. They set up a basic sandwich spread for lunch. Throughout the trip there were 2 pre mixed adult beverages available, that came with the package, as well as water and soda. There were also other adult beverages available for purchase. They had underwater cameras available for purchase on the boat or you can add it on when you set up your reservation. We had one reserved and just dropped the film off yesterday so the quality of the photos is yet to be determined. They played music, which I could leave or take, as it was mostly top 40. It wasn't too loud which was nice because I like to hear the birds and the water even the boat noises are cool. The snorkel was broken up into 2 sessions. The 1st was easy snorkeling to get you used to it and the 2nd was a little more intense but not too bad. If you have your own goggles and snorkel I would recommend bringing them. The ones they provide are possibly fine but could be better. One of our party members had his own and it was a lot easier to deal with so it made snorkeling a little more fun. We saw lots of ocean life including many varieties of fish, urchins, crabs, jelly fish, several varieties of coral, a living sand dollar, and more. We had a blast boating and snorkeling. It rained in the beginning of our trip but it cleared up quickly and the rest of the time was full of sun, blue water, and blue skies. We would most def go again with our own gear in tow. read more
