    16. Italian Sandwich on sourdough
    Annette T.

I was on the hunt for my new go-to sandwich joint and stumbled across this gem on none other than Yelp, of course! I knew I wanted a big ole sandwich with sourdough bread, good quality cuts of deli meat, filled with vegetables, and all dressed up. I got what I wanted here, my beloved sandwich fix. Spreadz is located inside of a business center. It's a small joint that can accommodate some table seating but there's more seating out front too. There's sandwiches, salads, and even a deli case with some side options! There's many ways you can order here: you can place your order at the main counter, order through their kiosks inside, call-in an order or even order online but they don't accept online orders at this location from 11:00AM-1:00PM (I'm guessing because of the lunch rush hour(s)). The first time I came here, I had ordered an Italian sandwich online which had a nice portion of deli meats and a ton of veggies but I found that it had way too much dressing on it. The second time I went here, I had ordered the two meat sandwich option with roast beef and turkey, vegetables, cajun mayo, and mustard on sourdough bread but I felt that there was way too much mustard this time. Not sure why they're heavy handed with dressing up the sandwiches when I have only one ever ordered the normal portion that comes with it. That aside, their sandwiches are pretty good, although a bit pricey (around $15-$18 each) but they're well worth the size, and they're fairly quick to make these sandwiches to order. The sourdough bread is also very good if you're a bread lover like me! I will definitely be back to try their other sandwiches and bread options (like dutch crunch)!

Stuck at a car service center nearby. Luckily Yelp handily served up this suggestion within walking distance. This sandwich spot is in the middle of a bunch of businesses / offices. Not too hard to find though since there're some large umbrellas at an outdoor seating area right outside. The ordering and pick up was easy. There're 2 touchscreen kiosks inside to order. I waited only about 5 minutes and got my Top Round Pastrami Sandwich and potato salad. The sandwich was delicious. It was quite large and in hindsight, along with the potato salad was really too much food. Definitely seemed like a grab and go place. I didn't see anyone actually sitting down there to eat. Would recommend if in the area.

I stumbled on spreadz on yelp while looking for a quick meal during my lunch break in Santa Clara. I ordered for pick up through grubhub and it was ready by the time I arrived. Always appreciate that. It's nestled in the middle of an industrial plaza. There is no way you would know about it unless you found it on yelp or through word of mouth. They have a nice indoor eating area as well as a beautiful outdoor space. They have a good selection of drinks, chips, and snacks. Super impressed with the peace teas and sugar free Snapple! I ordered the veggie sandwich on sourdough. The bread was so good! Tasted super fresh. I also really loved their chipotle sauce. It has a great kick to it. I just wish the veggie sandwich had a little more substance to it. Maybe more veggies or a meat substitute? Either way, good flavor. I'd return just for the bread alone! Lol

Work brought in Spreadz for a work lunch. They had a variety to select from and chose the Italian sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread. This was a solid sandwich with fresh ingredients. The star of the sandwich was the Cajun Mayo. It was so addicting, that it was hard to pace myself. Spreadz is definitely a great spot to grab a sandwich. They have a good variety and so serve breakfast as well.

Vegetarian/vegan reviewer: I ordered the roasted veggie sandwich with pesto sauce and their homemade cookie. Let me start with the positives- 1. The sandwich is filling. 2. The taste was pretty good and it didn't seem greasy 3. The cookie tasted pretty fresh and wasn't too sweet. Now the reality of lesser stars- even though it says with pesto sauce- there was no pesto sauce and I couldn't taste it either. Also my order was via DoorDash and not sure whose problem is it- but I must mention this here. Even though I selected pepperjack cheese it didn't come with it- why would you even charge extra for cheese in a veggie sandwich. Well, when I selected it the price didn't increase and also the item didn't come in my order- but it well showed up in my order. - Pretty disappointed vegetarian reviewer.

I ordered a grilled chicken pesto sandwich on the Dutch crunch roll and added bacon and French fries and it was oh so very good. The bread was perfect and the sandwich was not soggy or discombobulated. I really enjoyed this quick meal and would definitely order from this place again. I cannot speak to the staff and ambiance of the establishment due to ordering it online but I will definitely try it again.

Best sandwich I've had in a while!!! Service was great. They have a nice outdoor patio also.

Decent sandwich place! Not the best but it does the job for a quick sandwich for lunch. It has a nice little seating area outside and is nearby a lot of offices. We ordered: Chicken club: chicken, bacon, and avocado! You can't go wrong with this one! They did not skimp on the bacon and my boyfriend and I agreed this was our favorite. Tri tip: we got this with bbq sauce. It was underwhelming. It was good but nothing to write home about. Small side of potato salad: also not that amazing standard. The small size was pretty small. Overall I'd go back if I was in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way. Definitely get the sandwich on the Dutch crunch bread. Super crispy!

I quite enjoyed the sammiches here. They weren't some of those wildly packed sammies that leave you with heart palpitations, but I think they did a pretty swell job and it was enough to sate my hunger for the rest of the day. Let's talk about quality: it was high. Flavour: full of the good stuff. Service: The ladies were very friendly and brought us our food outside like the lazy bastards we are. Cleanliness: A+. Yeah, I guess that's about it. Oh yeah, I got some Pickle flavoured crisps, and they were pretty good. I mean, they tasted just like a freaking pickle, go figure, and if you like pickles, then you're probably gonna like those, too!! I had never tried anything that was pickle flavoured before, so I figured, what the hell, you only die once, right? So might as well LIVE while we can! GET THOSE WEIRD PICKLE FLAVOURED THINGS THAT YOU NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT!! So yeah, I'll be back, and it's hella close to my work, so it's even more better :D

If you like onions, this is your place. We got this doordashed and it was so organized. Sandwiches all had our names on it. I got the pastrami sandwich. It was good just too onion-y for me.

The last sandwich I purchased had to be thrown away after I took a big bite out of it and pulled out a long strand of hair from inside my mouth . It was fully mixed in with the meat and I didn't realize it was there until I was already chewing on it. Unfortunately I won't be able to go there again for awhile from feeling a bit grossed out from this experience.

I ordered the Godfather, which is supposed to be their specialty, and it was very disappointing. The meats seemed old, extremely fatty, and so chewy that I was unable to swallow them. Every meat on the sandwich was fatty, including the mortadella, which was unusually greasy and unlike anything I've seen before. The texture made the sandwich very unpleasant to eat. It also made me question whether the meats had been stored properly, though I can't say for sure. The bread was average and didn't seem very fresh either. Maybe going later in the day means the ingredients have been sitting too long, but either way, this sandwich was difficult to enjoy and ended up in the trash.

Hence why I stopped here one warm late afternoon despite having lots of food options in this downtown-y area. The Godfather ($15ish/5*) When I first try a deli I will usually try their Italian combo. It's a classic sub I love but honestly I find it hard to find an above average one. I'm not sure if the art of making one has been lost, but within the last decade or so, I strike out more than I get hits. Usually the meat to bread to produce ratio is off. Sometimes the meats are too salty/poor quality. Other times the sauce/dressing flavor is off. I am so stoked that I found a legit one here. They use prosciutto, mortadella and salami here, all my faves. I hate when a place uses American ham/cheese on an Italian sub. And all the meats are of quality, not too salty at all. Provolone was the cheese, textbook. I chose a sourdough roll and even though requires a good amount of teeth strength to bite off a piece and to chew, it was pretty damn satisfying. The interior is soft yet chewy. They definitely use a solid bread company. The bites were what I consider to be classic Italian sub flavors. No curve balls like pesto, red peppers or strong mustard. Just quality meats with great textures, fresh produce dressed in oil n' vinegar so it taste like a good salad. And the kicker that pleasantly surprised me were chunks of marinated artichoke hearts so this made you feel like biting into an antipasto platter just in sandwich form. So Damn Solid. Italian Sausage Sandwich ($15ish/4*). Even though solid I didn't love this as much as the cold sub. They ask what type of sausage mild or hot Italian. Chose hot, no surprise. They said this will take longer to make, like about 10 minutes. I chose a regular sweet French roll for this. Not as chewy as the sourdough roll, much softer but still has body. I liked the flavors of warm marinara with their unique sausage, quite classic once again. But the sausage they use is super thick like twice as thick as a common Italian sausage link. They do split it so it covers the bread but that sausage is one of the firmest textures I've ever had for a sausage. Sausage by nature because of the grind usually bites easily. Not here, I had to bite so hard that the meat couldn't stay in the bread. I think the casing was unusually tough for some reason. I eventually peeled it off. Decent flavors but problematic to eat cleanly. $35+ (after T&T) for 2 sandwiches seems pricey but really it is the new reality. 10 years ago this would have been about $20ish. Welcome to the new world order. Lol
