Sauces, lettuce, jalapeños, etc... I opted for spicy honey mustard and extra lettuce for my burger. The burger is pretty big, that alone is a good size for lunch. I didn't even need the onion rings on the side. The onion rings were cooked well. Service was friendly and polite. French onion soup burger ($13.5)- Really tasty burger. I loved that they asked how well you want it cooked... That's a sign of a good patty. The French onion dip was pretty unique and gave it a ton of extra flavor tho it makes the patty a little bit. Next time I'll try a burger where I can fully taste the quality of the patty. Piri piri chicken bow ($15)l- Chicken was ok. Got a nice lil grill but could be more tender. I think it's breast tho so prob healthier. The rest of the bowl included purple rice, some greens, tomatoes, pickled veggies. All in all it was a solid bowl. The orange sauce on top looked promising not it was a lil bland. The cool part is that they have a pretty large list of free condiments. I tried the sweet chili aoili, charred jalapeno aioli, and the Meyer lemon aioli. Very consistent restaurant. First tried the San Jose location off Monterey Road and then I found out there's a closer location to me in Cupertino. Greeted immediately upon entering and the staff is great. Very clean restaurant especially the restrooms which I can appreciate. Nice little bar set up with several tvs which is great to watch a game or a ufc fight. My daughter ordered the onion stack with no bacon jam which she loved it. I loved the decor and overall atmosphere. A spacious area with everybody being happy and getting fat. The cashier was extremely nice, and she was very patient as I took a long time to read their GIANT MENU. They have Thai Iced Tea milkshakes, I have never heard of such a thing, and I will definitely try it next time. This time I got a strawberry shake. It was my first day quitting cigarettes cold turkey after 25 years, so I wasn't about to risk my shake experience with a possible dud. The strawberry shake hit the spot, or as the youngins say "It hits." The burger and fries were delicious too, or as the youngsters say "Mad fire bro." My friend and I came in for some food and to watch a game in the bar area. I ordered the Havarti Shroom burger on a gf bun, a large sweet potato fries to share, and a spiced cider cocktail. My friend ordered their southwest chicken sandwich and fountain drink. We sat at one of the many stools to watch a game while our food was being made. Everything came out in about 15 mins since it was slow when we came in. We both enjoyed our sandwich/burger and devour the sweet potato fries. I always love getting the food here as everything is fresh. The drink was good and I got their seasonal special frozen Paloma while we continue to watch the game. IMHO I ordered The Stand burger: "beef patty, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, Stand burger sauce on a brioche bun." My friend ordered the French Onion Soup burger: "beef patty, double parmesan-crusted bun, double gruyere cheese, red wine onions, crispy onion rings, on brioche bun", plus a large side of fries. At the time of order, I was asked how I wanted my burger cooked. "Medium, please!" The burgers arrive snuggly half-wrapped in paper to keep all the goodies intact. In the past, the burgers arrived at the table with a wooden spear pierced through it to hold the burger in place. I was amazed at how hefty my burger felt in my hand. Omigosh, my burger was so juicy, flavorful, and tasty! I could only eat half of my burger (which my husband later happily devoured for dinner). Let's talk fries! These fries are probably the best fries I've eaten in a very long time. These were not limp fries; they had structure for perfect ketchup dipping. They were moist on the inside and crunchy crispy on the outside. My friend also loved her French Onion Soup burger that came with a side bowl of dipping au jus. Drinks are self-serve. I wish the take-out boxes were more easily accessible to me instead of having to go back to the counter and ask for them. However, I suppose if a server were walking by, I could've asked and they would've happily brought them to me. Fortunately, The Stand just opened in a location not far from me. We popped in here for a small bite after visiting someone at Kaiser Hospital. We got the Pirri Pirri Chicken Bowl special which was spicy but very tasty and I loved the wild rice mix. I'm not usually in this area of town so I searched to see if there are more locations close to me. Looks like they are mostly in SoCal but have 2 locations here. Overall Experience 8.9/10 We came here on a Sunday afternoon and the place had a lot of people inside watching the 49ers game. The restaurant had a lot of seating and the service was super nice and offered us samples of their new items. The Food: Both me and my friend got the French Onion Soup burger and a side of fries. The burger was a good hefty burger, nicely seasoned with grilled onions, fried onions, and cheese on it. I liked how they toasted. The patty was pretty juicy, but I do wish there was a little bit more salt on the burger. The onions on the burger was great, and had an amazing balance to the burger. The fries that were ordered had an amazing crisp, and was fluffy on the inside. They also have a large selection of sauces that are complementary that you can try with the fries, and I loved trying them out. The gripe I have about them is I wished they have seasoned them a bit more, it needed salt on them. Overall: I would definitely come back to try different burgers and sauces. I've been to The Stand twice now, and even though their menu is full of delicious sounding dishes, both times I've been left a little wanting. Their Seared Ahi Tuna Salad was well presented, but the Tuna itself was overcooked rather than truly seared, leaving many of the pieces looking gray and offputting. The flavor was decent, but it was a little overdressed for my preference. The Short Rib Fries on the other hand were excellent and definitely worthy of another order. I told myself that maybe my disappointing first experience was the result of ordering a salad in an establishment clearly built around the classic American staples of burgers and sandwiches so for my second go around I ordered the Grand Stand Turkey, a turkey sandwich with a number of tasty toppings including bacon & avocado. Sadly this too left me disappointed as the turkey was basically just lackluster deli meat and the toppings were so thin that the sandwich barely had any substance to it at all. Despite my mediocre experiences so far, I still have some hope for this chain given its strong reputation and excellent looking menu items so I will definitely be back, hopefully though the third time will be the charm. read more

Also, the "acting manager" Roxy showed real interest in how we enjoyed our experience, and some of the initial concerns I'd shared before already had gotten addressed. The location is perfect for most people living and working in the valley and there is quite a lot of parking available. As for service ordering is at the order counter with table service and ordering from the bartender when seated at the bar. Drinks are mostly self service unless alcohol is ordered. The food is quite good in terms of taste and quality and there is a good variety of options on the menu. I have here quite a few times and the quality is quite consistent. Big menu, decent food, and relaxed ambiance. This is my first time since The Stand took over this place. I bought a bunch of food to go for our school fundraiser. I'm just happy to find a chili dog. Also tried their salmon bowl and burger. Everything has decent taste and reasonably priced. They have a lot of food choices, from staples --- burgers, to more healthy bowls. They also have shakes and sides. I think this is a good option for family to eat with kids. At night they do have adults on the bar, having drinks and watching sports, but they have a good number or tables on the other side and outside on their patio. You order your food in line at the counter and then you wait on your table. Service time was standard. I think it depends on what and how much you ordered. Parking can be a challenge during peak hours. But you'll find one. read more

The Stand: 3.8 stars! I've been here several times with my friend and used to come often specifically for Grub Burger! Ever since the switch, it hasn't been the same. My friend and I typically order the ultimate egg burger, large fries with their burger sauce, and ceviche. The staff is usually friendly, but during one of our visits, I asked for our burger to be cut in half like we always do, and the server said no -- which was a first for us. We were also disappointed to hear they no longer serve the ceviche, which was one of our go-to items. We tried the guac and chips instead, but it didn't hit the same! Service was great everyone was friendly and very helpful. I ordered the shortrib grilled cheese, and it was perfect. No notes. We ate here recently and while the food was good and register staff were friendly, the service toward the end of the night was unpleasant. Around 8:30 PM--a full half-hour before the posted 9:00 PM closing time--an employee started flipping the chairs onto all of the available tables. This ruined the vibe of our dinner: - Not only was it loud and disruptive while we were trying to eat, - It also sends the wrong message to current diners that they need to hurry up and leave. - Worse, it makes the restaurant look closed, essentially turning away any potential customers who might want to get a bite to eat there. We understand staff wanting to get a head start on closing duties, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the guest experience, especially a full 30+ minutes before the doors actually close.
