Beautiful, flaky, sweet and savory; there are so many delicious options. Gourmet pastries with gourmet coffee equals perfection. Best way to start the morning. I love that. You can actually see them fresh baking pastries while you're sitting. We didn't go overly sweet because it was the morning, but I would love to come back in the afternoon to have a nice sweet treat and a cappuccino. For my family of three we definitely got over excited in order too much, but each bite was delicious. We got a leek quiche, a banana latte, spinach, artichoke danish, mango croissant, almond croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I was trying to increase the protein to not spike my blood sugar. This place is dangerous! The food isn't cheap, but the pastries are truly some of the best things I've ever eaten. I've visited several times for brunch with friends, and my recommendation is to come early as the line can reach out the door and down the sidewalk. At the same time, I give a lot of credit to the staff who are always friendly and helpful with indecisive patrons who are always asking questions and unsure of what to get. Somehow, they keep the lines moving at a good clip. The inside has lots of seating but it fills up fast. And it gets pretty loud. Croissante has become a south bay staple in pastries galore. The pastry ordering window is a little overwhelming because they're so many delicious things, make sure you scope out the entire line of options before you end up ordering way too much. Depending on the time, it can get quite crowded. I came in around 9:30am and by the time I got to checkout, the baristas ran out of dine-in mugs. Which is why I opted for an iced americano. It had a nice creama layer and a well balanced flavor. Not too acidic or bitter. I got the french onion soup, labeled as a popular item/staple of the bakery. It is quite a lot of soup, I wish it came with a side of bread/sourdough as towards the end it was all soup and nothing to contrast it. It was nicely broiled at the top with some small pieces of bread and a healthy layer of cheese that made it so exciting to eat. Even the crust of the bread had some crunch although fully soaked. The bakery has wifi which is really handy since I think reception in that area wasn't the best. Wifi password is displayed at the register. I will come back to try the sandwiches! read more

I first came here at their soft opening last year. At the time I was not too impressed. Their coffee was the best, but the pastries were only good. Since then they have settled down and got things together. This should have been a five-star review, but . . . I am impressed by their unique pastry offerings. Today we ordered a Matcha Chocolat, a Pastrami Suisse (sorry, no photo - my wife devoured it before I could get a picture of it ...), a Burrata Avocado Toast, French Onion Soup (again, no photo), and an Americano. First of all, the coffee was superb! Great espresso flavor and aroma, but not astringently bitter. It really complimented the Matcha Chocolat's sweetness, even though, in my opinion, matcha tea and chocolate really do not go well together - this combination worked! The French Onion Soup was fabulous! Great aroma, and the sweet onion flavor was so delightful. This alone would be satisfying. And it is one of these rare instances where one would not want to have anything else that would ruin the state of bliss. That being stated, it did pair with the Pastrami Suisse, and together they complimented each other so well. What did not work well was the Burrata Avocado Toast. I have to say that this did not impress me at all, except for presentation (it looked nice!). The toast was soggy and the crust ultra hard. There was more mozzarella cheese than avocado (could not even taste the avocado . . .). What shined, however, was not the actually avocado toast, but the accompanying salad. Tasty! Unusual, however, in that I could taste the greens, the tomatoes, and the radishes - the dressing was not overpowering as I find to often with many restaurants. I found this salad to be quite refreshing! Now, if they can work on that toast . . . I am pleased that they have found their footing here. I highly recommend their pastries and coffee. Came by for some dessert the other day and it was a mediocre experience. After spending time in Paris last month, I was surprised that I hadn't run into a Saint Honore at local bakeries. Staff were wearing uniforms matching the bakery colors although the bakery seemed grimey including fog on the mirrors and windows. ...maybe it's cultural? The Saint Honore seems a touch off. The base was a crispy flaky cookie topped with some flavorful whipped cream along with several cream puffs. Pricing was premium at $12.5 for an individual pastry. Let's start with how to find the place- n the Bank of America plaza. Look for the mustard yellow building next to the Bay Spa and Eye Boutique Optometry Crossiante is open during the following days and times listed on their door: M-Th 7:30-5:30 Fri- Sat 7-6 Though we got there on a Sunday and they were open so yay for us. The sign also says No Cash Accepted, No dogs or pets in other. But of course service dogs are welcomed. The open floor plan makes the place look spacious with about ten small circle tables and two long tables with a small counter space right at the entrance for a single quiet breakfast and large groups as well. It is an open first come first seat set up. Menus are located once you come in for drinks and brunch items. Surely will have to take advantage of their array of brunch items at the next visit. Looks promising. Even the fresh squeezed orange juice looked refreshing. This trip only allowed for pastry grab and go before hopping on the plane. I would've liked the pastries to fit into a box but they came in their own paper sleeves and into the paper bag with handles. Missed the mark there for all that effort. There is so much variety and you can taste the quality in their imported ingredients here. FYI the salt bread isn't available until after 10 AM some days and sells out fast. Tried a bunch of stuff at Croissante the other day: Kouign Amann, matcha pain suisse au chocolat, chicken spinach & cheese croissant, mango croissant, white chocolate matcha scone, and the chocolate covered salt bread (yeah we went a little overboard lol). Favorite by far was the white chocolate matcha scone. Not too sweet at all which I liked, and you can actually taste the matcha instead of it just being sugary. Would 100% get that again. Mango croissant was prob my second favorite, kinda refreshing in a way I didn't expect from a pastry? Kouign Amann and the matcha pain suisse were solid, nothing crazy but good. Chocolate covered salt bread was interesting... not bad just not something I'd go out of my way for again. Least favorite was the chicken spinach & cheese croissant. I'm picky when it comes to my pastries, and Croissante is one of two bakeries I would regularly frequent. They use high quality ingredients and simply put, they just get their dough right. It's hard to go wrong with any of their pastries here. My favorite thing to get is their version of kouign amann, which is more like a flattened circular croissant rather than the classic muffin-like shape of kouign amann. I also love to get their little cheese puffs, which is usually displayed on the counter island. I have tried various other pastries, which have also been tasty. Unsurprisingly, Croissante has lines during peak hours, but the lines move relatively quickly. I believe they also let you order online ahead, but there is a minimum to do so. If you're looking for a French-inspired bakery in South Bay, then Croissante is a must-try. read more

I had seen Croissante all over social media and was curious to try it but didn't want to wait in the long line. I went on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes. I only ordered pastries as I had lunch elsewhere, but their food looked delicious. I had their Palmi Carre (cookies and cream), double chocolate pain a chocolat, and their French toast half cube? I forgot the name of that one. The pastries were fresh and had a nice crisp to them. My favorite was the palmi. The French toast pastry was crisp on the outside and had a moist interior that's was lovely, I was hoping it had a maple flavor to it but it didn't. It was my 1st time trying the kouign aman, and OMG, i want more!! I'm so sad that I live in texas and can't get this until my next visit. We almost skipped this place on our san jose food tour, but it ended up being the SO's favorite spot. Cube croissant french toast - i think the name speaks for itself. the crust/edges were so crispy and crunchy, a nice sweet subtle glaze. I loved the savory+sweet of this pastry. It was not super sweet and paired well with the americano. The strawberry shortcake had a velvety whipped cream with fresh strawberries. The cake was airy and soft. Reminded me of cakes in asia / japan. Its not too sweet so you could prob eat 5 of these without feeling sick. Service was fast and friendly! I loved the vibe of this cafe: all the employees wore bright blue shirts with an adorable graphic, and the pastries were beautifully displayed. The employees were super efficient in checking out customers and packing up pastries. I highly recommend the mango croissant - it was filled with fluffy, sweet cream and topped with huge chunks of fresh mango! The normal croissant was quite delicious as well, with flaky, buttery layers. The yuzu lemon cheesecake, although beautiful, was a skip. This was my first time here in the afternoon on the weekend and I was happy to see that most bakery items were still available for purchase! I was extremely overwhelmed but the servers here are great and very patient. They recommended their regular croissant and the mango croissant. I ended up getting several items. My favorite was their salt breads. Their regular and pesto was delicious. It was light and fluffy after reheating it a couple days later. The bread and desserts are all amazing. The coffee is really good, too. However, they almost never have seating and even if you do nab a seat, it is uncomfortable and hard. The feeling is very "leave quickly". It is overcrowded and not an inviting place to stay and enjoy your pastries. The line to get your pastries is also pretty long. Croissante is a really nice bakery and coffee spot in Santa Clara. The place is clean, tidy, and has a great atmosphere with high ceilings that make it feel open and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and the service is impressively fast, even when there's a line. There is almost always a line, but the team manages it efficiently. As you walk along the long counter toward the checkout, the staff start asking what you'd like to order. The only downside to this setup is that it can feel a little rushed. Since the counter is quite long, you don't always get to see all the items they offer before being asked to choose. Because of that, you might end up picking a couple of things you see early on, and by the time you reach the rest of the display your plate is already at the checkout counter, so it's a bit late to add anything else you might have wanted. They offer both dine-in and takeout. There was a small mix-up with my order where I asked for coffee "for here," but it was packed to go. However, the staff handled it really well. The lady at the counter was very kind and immediately offered to make a new drink, though I simply asked if they could pour it into cups so we could dine in. The food itself was great. The croissant, pesto bun, and artichoke danish were all delicious, and the coffee was very good too. It can take a little time to find a seat, but people move fairly quickly since most visitors are grabbing coffee or pastries. Overall, the vibe is great and the presentation of their items and packaging is very well done. This bakery is sooo cute and VERY spacious! It's the perfect space for studying or grabbing coffee with a friend. I walked in around 3 pm and they were still stocked with so many delightful pastries! So many good options to choose from but I ultimately decided to snag one of the last saltbread available since I heard they sell them here. First and foremost the price was $4.50 for a single saltbread. Most of the pastries range from $6-$9 which is more on the pricier end, but I think that there are of higher quality so it can be worth the dime. This was probably one of the better saltbreads I've tried. It's crisp on the outside, fluffy interior and a bed of butter just sitting inside. Truly a delight even if it was cold!!
