    Drunken Noodle

Food, it was good, but not $20 a plate good, I stopped to get 2 Thai iced tea, and 2 drunken noodles. The to-go plate, is smaller than my hand. The Thai iced tea, is 50% ice. I had eaten there once before, they charge you so much for "service", which involves just asking "Is everything okay here?" And a little bit of eye rolling. If I wanted to spend money for someone to ask if I was okay, I would visit a therapist. The Ambiance is alright, but it smells like a PetSmart.

I have been going to Sala Thai for years. The space was recently renovated and looks nice. Their service and food is always good and I will continue to patronize this restaurant. Come to think of it, there are not any other Thai restaurants in the Woodmont Triangle. PS they do have a Happy Hour menu which has drinks and small plates.

This is one of the best Thai spots in Montgomery County! They have great portions and lunch prices. I prefer the crab fried Thai rice, and the veggie rolls were thrown in along with the entree. The service was nice and quick. So happy I randomly found this spot - a must visit for sure!

The food here was ok. I liked the dumplings. The red curry with pork wasn't great. The curry itself had a nice flavor but the pork wasn't good quality since it was hard and chewy throughout. If you have the choice of a protein I would recommend either going with the beef or chicken. It wasn't the best Thai food I've had but it's one of the few Thai options in Bethesda. However, the service was good and the waitress was friendly and helpful. There is a lot of seating inside and the place has a casual vibe.

Upon entering the front door, the staff was ready to greet us - all three of them in the front were gracious. The calamari appetizer was serviced with a light panko dusting and a mild sweet vinegary fish sauce. A perfect blend. The fried red snapper went well with the ginger sauce. Dessert was fried banana and coconut ice cream, a delectable Thai treat.

This is a review for takeout, we did not dine in, and so I can't really speak much for the service or the ambience. The food however was pretty delicious. We got the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and the Panang Curry. Overall the food was delicious. My only complaint is they give you a very small rice side for all that curry, and it honestly isn't enough given how much curry sauce comes with it. I loved that the food wasn't overly salty, I've been other places where the Pad See Ew sauce was so salty that I could barely eat the dish, but that wasn't the case here! We would definitely order from here again!

Fantastic food! I came to this place two days in a row! I had drunken noodles to go the first time. Very authentic, healthy portions. The service was super fast and the food comes out hot. Very on the menu is a great price!

I blame gps for not telling me to turn down this lane because my phone kept saying that I have arrived. But it was worth the walk up and down Bethesda Avenue. I got there before the noon rush and ordered the bibimbap which consisted of bulgogi steak and tofu with spicy kimchi, housemade pickles, bean sprout banchan, and veggies atop crispy rice. Topped with gochujang and a fried egg. It was not too spicy as there was just a dab of gochujang which was enough to give the dish a little kick but not overly spicy. The kimchi was also on the spicy side but again, fine for me. All the ingredients were tasty. I especially loved the tofu mixed in with the steak sauce. My first bite of the tofu actually made me think it was the meat. The rice wasn't "crispy" as described. I think if I hadn't taken it as a to-go order, it may have been prepared in a stone pot therefore giving me that crispy rice. I will need to try a dine-in next time to be sure. The egg was perfectly done.

The pork broth is standout, but I absolutely dream about the spider ramen. Named for the fried softshell on the top (which you can ask to swap for more shrimp), has a tom yum-like flavor. Creamy, spicy and slightly acidic, the broth could be poured on cardboard and I would eat it. Noodles are always perfect and the seafood is present, but not a huge portion - so you can focus on the broth. My only complaint? The lobster broth in the spider ramen dish is not listed as an option for the "make your own" bowl...which would allow me to perfectly customize it. I will regularly order the spider bowl in the meantime with no softshell, extra shrimp, and if I'm feeling down additional noodles and broth (allowing me to indulge for multiple meals) . Bubble tea is tasty - especially the rose milk tea. This place has a counter with a handful of seats and two tables for 4-6. After waiting for a table, we decided to mostly do takeout. We can order online. Would be great if they had a spot out front for takeout pickup as parking around the restaurant can be hard at times.

Total (not including tip) came out to approximately $49. What's Hot - Menu. Excellent. It's also written in Chinese in addition to English. For those of us familiar with traditional ethnic Chinese food, a menu written in Chinese is a good sign. They have traditional Taiwanese and Chinese food like scallion pancakes, sesame balls, beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, etc... Very good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, possibly with the exception of vegan dishes.. - Quality. Pretty good. Their scallion pancake was soft, not too oily, and not too salty. I prefer the scallion pancake to have been a bit more thick and flaky, but that's my personal preference. To be fair, still delicious. Their chive and pork dumplings definitely had a delicious chive flavor. Substantial and the wrapper was not too thick. Their spicy sesame paste tofu had a good flavor and substantive. The chili oil wontons were not too spicy and had a good flavor. Again, my personal preference would have been for the dumplings to have been more substantive, but still pretty decent. - Service. Pretty good. It appears most, if not all their staffers, speak Chinese (Mandarin), which was also helpful, because I specifically ordered in Chinese. I asked them about the spice level, because I wanted to ensure it would not be too spicy for my friend. - Price. Pretty good value for menu and portions. - Location. It's pretty easy to find. Also within convenient walking distance to the Silver Spring metro. The inside space is pretty good. Tables can seat a minimum of 2, all the way up to 8. What's Not - Quality. The sesame balls are smaller than I expected. They're the rough approximation of a ping pong ball, maybe smaller. I was disappointed, because I like sesame balls that are substantial. - Service. I specifically asked for soup spoons, because we were eating dumplings. Instead, they gave me regular spoons. Not all the dishes come out in the order you hope. For example, main dishes may come out before the appetizers. This is going to be dependent on your personal preference. - Parking. There is parking near the restaurant, but it's going to be dependent on the day and time. Final Answer Worth coming back.

Although my husband and I are omnivores we appreciate good plant based food, and since many had said it was good, we had high hopes. Fortunately, Planta lived up to our expectations. We made reservations, since we'd heard it can be hard to get a table. Even though it was a Friday night, we could have gotten a table. But, it was also raining so that might have contributed to lower traffic. We ended up getting a bunch of food to share: Spinach & artichoke dip Bang Bang Broccoli Thousand layer potatoes Spicy Tuna Roll Volcano Roll Red Dragon Roll Unagi Nigiri (I didn't try this one, but everyone else raved about it) My husband had the Emperor's Old Fashioned, friends had the Lych Please and the Pom and Get It. I, as designated driver, had a Cosmic Colada followed by the House Mint Lemonade (and I had a sip of the Lych Please just to taste it.) My favorites were the Bang Bang Broccoli, the Spicy Tuna Roll, and to my surprise, the Thousand Layer Potatoes. I also loved the House Mint Lemonade. The broccoli managed to not actually taste like broccoli, it tasted like Fried with Peanut Sauce. (No, there is not a missing word there. It tasted like Fried.) I usually don't get excited about potatoes unless they are twice baked or the amazing potato salad from Polka deli, but these potatoes were actually really good. Sliced, layered, not exactly crispy except on the edges, but super tasty much to my surprise. I'd actually order them again. The Spicy Tuna Roll tasted nothing like tuna, nor did it taste like watermelon per se but it was delicious. The notes of coconut probably played a role in my assessment. Folks in general were less enamored of the Volcano roll than the other dishes and I concurred. It wasn't bad, it just was lackluster compared to the others. It tasted kind of like a salad dressed with a lack of oomph. While I personally liked the spinach & artichoke dip, the folks in the party who aren't coconut-o-philes thought it had too much of a coconut taste. I've never met a coconut I didn't like though so this didn't bother me. I would order the Lych Please if I weren't driving, it was good - sweet but not too sweet. The Cosmic Colada wasn't bad but I probably wouldn't order it again either. It had less of the coconut flavor than I hoped for and a lot more just "juice" flavor. If I'm not driving next time I'll just suck down the house mint lemonades instead. All in all, it was good. I'd definitely come back and order some of these items again and hopefully try some others. I absolutely will bring my close vegan friend here next time she's in town!

Their entrees are bursting with flavor and at such a good price point for Bethesda. Their menu is on the walk when you walk in and you order from the person at the counter. I love that the beef came with a side salad and the curry came with a generous portion of rice and garnish on the curry. The seitan beef was cooked so well! It was a great texture and was meaty without being too realistic. The flavor was so savory and seasoned perfectly. I did not want to put my fork down I gobbled my meal up! I did not try the curry but definitely want to order it next time as my friend enjoyed it.
