During that visit, she was laser focused on replacing my gold crown that I've had in place with no issues for about 20+ years. No pain, no ache, no symptoms. On a follow up cleaning 8 months later, before the hygienist came in, Dr. Choi did another x-ray and began harping again how this tooth was in danger of imminent. When I asked to see both her original x ray and the new x ray, there was no discernable difference in the small shadow on the tooth. When I told her that I could not see a difference, it apparently hit a nerve with her and she said she could see a difference and that she looks at x rays all day long every day. After she left the room, I decided to walk out of the appointment. Once home I called the office manager, told them I didn't plan on returning, and that I mentioned that Dr. Choi needs to not see patients until she learns how to speak appropriately to them. The office manager replied that "was my opinion". Shocking....

I waited for two hours while they supposedly obtained this pre-approval. After paying the copay, I received the procedure. However, I was later sent an invoice stating that my insurance had rejected the claim. When I contacted my insurance company, I learned that the dental office had never actually obtained pre-approval. When I confronted the office about this, they claimed it was a "pre-determination," not a pre-approval. I have all of this documented in emails from them. Please be cautious--my experience suggests they may provide misleading information and engage in questionable billing practices.
