Great venue! Right on a large pond. Covered outdoor area to host any type of event that could accommodate large groups of people. I can for a wine tasting first and one of the owners showed me around and gave a quick history of the business. I thought this was a personal touch that not many other wineries do. Everyone there was so warm and welcoming. You can eat lunch (cafe) outside or inside. You can also buy a glass or bottle of wine and walk around. I have heard there is a "train" you can take that will take you on a trip to view the grapes. Overall, this winery is a hidden gem. Great wine and experience every time I come here. read more

My friend specifically brought me here because of their selection of drier wines (my fave) as opposed to the excess of sweeter wines in this area and it did not disappoint! My Bachelorette Party made this our last stop of the day for our wine tours. We had a reservation and they knew we were coming. It was very crowded but everyone had their own place to stay with their groups. We all started at the tasting bar but was moved to a table mid tasting and some of us lost out on finishing our tastings. Also, some of us never got glasses ordered. The view was the best part. It was beautiful and peaceful. To be honest, I want to come back without a large party and try it again. Maybe it will be better. read more

Stylish little winery on the east side of Lockport. Their wines were centered mostly on whites (Rieslings) although they do bring in some California (Mendocino) zinfandel grapes to make a red in the style of the family back home. I bought a glass and walked around their beautiful grounds. Apparently there was going to be a wedding there that weekend as a wedding party showed up and went through their paces. Great entertainment. I liked the zinfandel enough that I bought a second glass, sat on the patio and listened to a 2 piece band had playing for the evening tasting. I loved this winery! It's on the Niagara wine trail and is a must stop. You are able to try 4 wines for $5, not a bad deal. Most of the wines are sweet as most are in the Niagara area. They also have a cafe menu so you are able to have lunch there. The best thing is they have wine ice cream! They use their wine and a ice cream from Syracuse and make their own blend. It was so tasty! A must try if you visit this winery. The winery also sits on a lake and the view is beautiful. A great place to relax with a glass of wine. You can also have birthday parties or large events at this space. It looks like a great place to celebrate. I will be back to this winery! read more

Wow! I've been here before on a hallowine wine bus tour, but never appreciated what an awesome spot this is! My job held a work function for us, we had the outdoor pavilion area, it was gorgeous! Open bar, cheese and crackers, fruit platters followed by sandwich wraps, hummus tray, meatballs and stuffed mushrooms! The food was outstanding! The wine, well....phenomenal. I'm more if a dry red type and the ever so pleasant Cameron steered me towards their red zinfandel. It was heavenly! This is a fabulous spot for an event (they do weddings) or just to drop in for a tasting. This place will not dissapoint. I can't wait to go back! read more

Spring lake winery should not even get 1 star but here it goes.. My friend and I were having a girls outing and were excited to come across this winery and what looked like a nice place to enjoy lunch and a glass from the website turned out to be a big mistake. First off the lady who greeted us was so rude wanting to seat the two of us at a round table that would fit 10 and we looked at each other laughing because that would be awkward to sit at for the two of us. Then the lady asked what was so funny and we were taken back by her rudeness. We sat down eventually and the women rushed us to get our order acting like not wanting to be bothered. We ordered a flight that came in plastic cup and she plops down our wine flight and takes our food order rudely. During our visit we noticed random people coming in from a back room helping themselves to drinks behind the bar, obviously they were not employees by the way they were dressed. While we waited for our food, our server was seen eating at the bar and wiping her nose and not washing her hands once. Spring lake was obviously not following covid safe regulations and need major improvement on how they treat their customers. read more

I've been up and down the Niagara wine trail forward and back over the past couple of years, with multiple groups of people. One thing that is consistent is that Spring Lake is always the absolute best stop on the tour, and usually I get agreement from others when I ask them where they liked after we finish. The winery itself is very nice and the property is beautiful. The wine isn't so bad either and I usually get at least one bottle every time I stop here, Madelyn Minx being my all time favorite. It's an actual shame they don't make MM anymore. I should also mention I've been here for lunch and the food they serve is very good as well. Long story short, don't overthink this. If you're going to do a wine tour, Spring Lake is a must stop!!! read more

We spent time here with the son of the owner, and grandson of the founder. He was easy-going, knowledgeable, took his time describing the wines, and you could see how much he loves his product and his family, especially his grandma (he offered us some of Nona's homemade biscotti and told us lovely stories about her, as well as his family's history here). The price of tastings is great: $5 for a flight of 4 wines (and/or homemade sangria). The grounds are well-kept, the spring-fed lake is flowery and serene, and Nona's biscotti were great! Wine tour buses come through here and that's fine for a quick sip, but if you can make it here (it's really close to suburban Williamsville) NOT on a bus you will get the same, individualized attention that we got! read more

This one is very picturess and good for weddings. The tasting room is kind of small but you can pack it full of people. They had a delicious sangria that was my favorite. It is very secluded, but if there is a wedding there and you are doing tastings it is right in the same area. This is a must stop on the wine trail. read more

I went to spring garden for lunch. The property was beautiful. We ate outside overlooking the lake. We had a bottle of peach sangria which was nicely chilled. My friends had the ground Turkey bruschetta cheese platter. It had 4 types of cheese and had a good amount of cheese and 6 bruschetta. Easily a nice sharing platter. I had the tomato basil soup which was cold and a bruschetta sandwich which was cold with non melted mozzarella cheese. I would definitely recommend a visit but I would not get the bruschetta sandwich or the soup but would definitely recommend a visit to enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese platter. read more

They serve lunch on Sundays. We went for a wine and food pairing recently. They gave us 3 generous portions of wine for the tastings, basically 3 full glasses. They served us a turkey sandwich with mashed avocado and cherry tomatoes. It was simple yet delicious. Next we ate crackers either pesto and hummus. Pretty sure they just bought their hummus at Wegmans but it was still good. For dessert, they served us a large portion of wine ice cream. The wine ice cream was awesome! We bought a container to bring home with us. We only tried 3 of their wines last time. The Zinfandel ($28 for a bottle) was incredible. They also had 2 Rieslings. They weren't terrible but I've had better. read more

Really fun winery. Wide open, lots of outdoor seating- I didn't try the wine but my friends enjoyed it, as well as some type of punch they made, and the food that was available. We came for the "murder mystery weekend" and they were great hosts! Definitely will return. read more

I loved my time at this winery. The location is beautiful and well cared for. They have a great space for parties and events and their wine is good! My favorite was the White Minx (close enough if that is not the exact name of the wine), which was light, sweet, and mildly fizzy. The other wines were also good, but I will not pretend to know what I am saying about them. If you stop here I suggest taking time to have lunch and sit by the private lake/pond. It is just as well cared for as the rest of the property and the water is so clear you can see the fish swimming though. read more

Went here for the adult Easter egg hunt and had a blast! The location is a beautiful serene lake nestled amongst trees and trails and vineyards. It's a dog friendly place and that is rare to find. The event was a lot of fun. Started with a wine tasting and then just like when you were little, a hunt in the beautiful park like setting to find eggs with candy and adult prizes like free glasses of wine! The bar staff ( esp Michael) were very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was very nice. Took home a bottle of muscato.. Delicious. Spring lake has a huge outdoor deck overlooking the lake. Being on a tour they were able to get us all served very quickly & even let us walk around even though they were setting up for a wedding. The view over the little lake is charming. I had my wedding ceremony at Spring Lake Winery on Saturday. I struggled between giving them 2 stars and 3 based on how difficult they became to work with. I will start with the positive. It is BEAUTIFUL and I am sure my wedding photos will reflect that beauty. The natural beauty and simplicity surrounding this as a wedding venue is amazing. If they had been easier to work with and more accommodating I would have not only gave them a better rating but would have regretted not having my reception there. They are VERY OVERPRICED. We would have loved to have given them all of our business however they wanted $109.00 per person and weren't even offering a menu to support that trust me. We decided to do our ceremony there and were charged $29.00 per person for our ceremony and a 1 hour open bar. We began working with a gentlemen named Michael. He gave us a tour and assured us he would take care of everything, offered ceremony package only without open bar for $19 pp but then we decided to do a one hour open bar. Signed a contract with him and that was that. We didn't hear from him again and had to reach out to Spring Lake who informed us that Michael left the company and there would be other folks taking care of us going forward. We were given the name Dominic, then Tamre and finally Julia. As we started to get closer to the event needing to finalize everything there was a lot of confusion on their end. What we were told my Michael didn't seem to be the same as we were being told by Julia. They attempted to email me several times with a new quicken system but I never got emails until they were sent by a different email address. They sent me an itemized bill and attempted to charge me $39.00 per person for my package as their prices had gone up and they didn't know that I signed my contract with Michael for $29.00 pp. Once I sent them photos of what I signed they stated they would honor that. Then we were charged many other "hidden fee's" that were never explained to us when we signed for them, such as the 19% gratuity fee. A lot of back and forth that shouldn't have had to happen. Obviously we had to pay them as it was a week before our wedding, but found it ironic that none of these things came up months before which would have given us time to have our wedding ceremony moved somewhere else. Also, our package included use of their "bridal cabin" so the girls could get ready right on the property. We were shown the cabin and told it was getting a huge face lift before the summer and being repainted and would have air conditioning and all the normal amenities would expect women to use to get dressed and put make up on for a wedding ceremony. When we arrived the cabin was closed up and dirty, dirt and debris all over the floor. The air conditioning didn't work because it blows the fuse apparently. There was no bathroom or private area to get dressed in, just a one room cabin with two little couches. There was a stand up mirror and one small vanity mirror available and the lighting was really poor. They came in while we were there to sweep and bring us fans for the cabin. Not at all what they explained to us when "selling us" the package. If we were told up front there was no air and able to see the cabin during our rehearsal we would not have gone there to get ready at all. To make matters worse, during our rehearsal (now 2 days before ceremony) Julia stated if we still wanted to have our formal toast she believed there would be a charge but would let us know if that was the case. She walked inside and came back out but didn't indicate anything to us at that time. The next morning (now the day before the wedding) I get a voicemail stating there would unfortunately now be an additional charge for our wedding toast and to call her back to let her know if we still wanted it so she could bill me. Mind you, we are paid in full at this point and were told previously we would have a toast, they asked us what we wanted to toast with and we stated moscato etc. So I emailed her and ask why we would be charged if we are having a one hour open bar and were told because they would need more bar wear and additional staff to have 25 glasses of wine ready. We declined and did our own toast during the open bar. When we arrived the chairs were not set up for the wedding, the wine barrels were not set in front of the gazebo yet and they never mowed the grass so it was long for our wedding. Not huge deals but I would think 2 hours before the ceremony they would have had all of this done and the cabin would have been ready for us. Beyond the difficulty working with them, they were nice people. Shawn was our bar tender and was awesome. He was extremely helpful, he actually came to the cabin ahead of time to make sure I liked the placement of the barrels and make sure the cabin was cleaned for us. Overall I am disappointed with the difficulties I had working with them. read more

We had our wedding here last October and were VERY disappointed with them. We were told there would be plenty of heaters if the night was cold and they had only one to heat two large tents, the power was out most of the night (not because of weather, but because the sound system overwhelmed the extension cord they offered) so everyone had to sit in the dark while they brought out a few candles, and the hundreds we spent on rented lighting was a waste because we weren't able to turn them on. We should have called for some sort of refund but didn't want to waste any more time with them. Other than the bar service, which was excellent, it really didn't seem like they had ever hosted a wedding before, and ours was a small one. read more

I recently attended a wedding reception at Spring Lake and was absolutely shocked at the beautiful setting! The lake is crystal clear and looked gorgeous on the clear Summer day -- was the perfect backdrop for photos. Enjoyed the small cabin in the back for additional photo opportunities. The reception area was the perfect size for the wedding party and guests. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I hope to return to this venue for a future wedding. The wine I had during the wedding from the winery was fantastic, no complaints! read more

We took a chance and stopped at this winery. It was beautiful, We were meet by Sean and he was a wealth of knowledge about the wines and grapes. We relaxed outside while we had our tasting. The wine was excellent. I normally do not drink red but the one Sean suggested was great. Bought a bottle to take home. Would definitely recommend this stop on your wine tour. Wow -- this winery is one of our favorite Sunday destinations. in WNY The setting is by far the most scenic of any on the wine trail, with a really nice hike one can take around the lake. The wines we've sampled were quite nice &the staff has always been very cordial. This winery is beautiful! We had my sister's bridal shower here last weekend and everything turned out amazing. The wine was great, the atmosphere was gorgeous, and the employees- especially Michael- who went above and beyond for us- was fantastic! My sister commented on how she wishes she could get married there and all the guests kept coming up to me telling me how beautiful it was. We were outside in the pavilion right by the lake and it turned out to be a great day! The food was amazing ( esp the feta and spinach mushrooms) wine was great, and they even gave us mojitos for those who weren't fond of wine.
