Is this really five star skiing? No. Are the ski lifts older than my Aunt Janet? (RIP)... yup. This is our local mountain. We are very possessive of it. The staff is nice, yet disorganized at times. Here's why it gets five stars. The instructors are amazing. Get your little ones signed up for weekly lessons and they will be up and skiing in a few lessons. The mountain is split into two areas: front and back. The front is set up for beginners. Beginners can progress from a short magic carpet to their first mid-hill very green level run. Then up the ante to a light blue run at the top. The backside is for beginners that can handle the front of the mountain and up to midlevel intermediate skiiers. It has its own, mildly terrifying, chair lift and the only low black level run. There is supposed to be a double black run under the chair lift, but in 15 years, I have never seen it open. This is not a ski mountain on any top 10 skiier bucket list. We don't want it there anyway. It our local hill. Inexpensive. Easily accessible. Plenty of beginner fun. read more

Mountain Spring Adventures is a small mom-and-pop mountain. While it's not Blue Mountain or Mountain Creek, it's a good spot to try winter sports with fewer crowds. However, conditions and equipment are not top-notch--you get what you pay for. It's an inexpensive option close to King of Prussia and Philadelphia. Parking Parking can be confusing. Arrive early on weekends for a good spot; otherwise, you may have to park farther away and take a shuttle. Parking is free. Rentals My friend and I rented gear here in early February 2023, shortly after my first private snowboarding lesson at Big SNOW. The boots were lace-up (not BOA), helmets were an extra $10, and there were no instructions. At Big SNOW, helmets were free, and staff helped with BOA boots, making a big difference. Snow & Slopes Being closer to Philly means warmer temps; a hoodie sufficed. Snow was decent but limited, and slopes were small. Great for local fun or beginners. Lessons here, I noticed, were mostly group-based, which I wouldn't recommend for adults. Group lessons are cost-effective but lack the hands-on instruction needed to truly learn. After visiting this mountain, I realized I wasn't going to progress safely on my own. This experience taught me that if I truly wanted to learn snowboarding, it was best to continue at Big SNOW, where I could build skills properly. Some areas were icy, and many kids bombed the slopes without supervision. I blew out my knee because a child cut across my path, and as a beginner, I couldn't dodge in time. His mother didn't intervene, leaving me with two options: crash into him or bail and get injured. I chose the latter and haven't returned. Unfortunately, this lack of etiquette is common at smaller mountains. Price Affordable, but if you want a high-quality experience, Blue Mountain or Mountain Creek are worth the higher price--they're expensive for a reason. Food Edible, but think public school lunches. Overall Though I wouldn't return, I'm grateful for the experience because it taught me valuable lessons about how to progress safely in snowboarding. Everyone should form their own opinion, as some may enjoy this mountain for what it offers. If you're just starting out, it can be a good introduction, but for real improvement, I'd recommend Big SNOW. read more

I don't know why there's so much hate in these comments about the toughness of the trails and staff. My friends and I came here today, with 3 out of the 6 of skiing for the first time, and had an absolute BLAST. Wow. The hills and lifts, although not super long, were just the right size for a crappy skier like myself (almost hit like two people). Was really impressed with their college night discount prices. For just a measly $25, you could get lift passes, and for not even $40 more, they had ski and helmet rentals. Really impressed with their set up, even though I'm pretty sure that a decent amount of the snow on our trip here today wasn't real since it was definitely colder than 32 degrees for a lot of the day. Overall really polite staff at the counter and also at the ski fitting area and also decently accessible and expansive bathroom areas for skiers. Will definitely bring food next time so I can ski for the whole day! read more

There are other hills to the side but I stayed practicing my beginner skills I did sign up for a group lesson but (to me) the description is not clear as it's only for people that never skied. I tried to swap for a personal lesson but the person never showed. I waited for 2 hours and eventually Got a refund and left annoyed. The ski staff we great but can't say the same for customer service. The original person was "too busy" to come from the upstairs to help me. The opening process is a mess as it was two lines that merged then unmerged. Ah who knows. Anyway the food was tasty and not expensive. The hill was great and took me me less then an hour to get here. I had my own skis. I'll be back. read more

There are some good aspects of Spring Mountain (a.k.a. Spring Hill). It is by far the closest ski resort to the Philadelphia area. It is also far more affordable than any other option. If you are a beginner then this is a terrific option. There is a $75 package that includes equipment rental, lesson, and lift ticket (for beginner area only, which is appropriate if you are a beginner). If you are immediate or advanced then this may not be for you. The runs are very short and there are only a handful of true trails. The crossover trails, which Spring counts as trails, are so narrow it is difficult to pass or get passed by others. There is one bathroom in the resort and it is tight but it was refreshed this year ('22/'23 season) and never has a line/wait. The lodge isn't great. If not skiing then you may rather just sit in your car. The lodge has the feel of an elementary school cafeteria. It is crowded, plastic chairs, no stone fireplace, food is subpar, should I go on? The lifts are old, undersized (doubles), and slow. Finally, Spring has a habit of leaving snow making equipment on the trails or just off the beginner trail. This is a great beginner hill! Our kids learned here and have hit larger mountains as a result. There are not of frills to this mountain in terms of aesthetics but great if you just want to ski/snowboard and is not overwhelming to manage. There is a nice areas in the lodge to grab a drink and a sit down meal- there is a quick service area to grab small bites but it seems the majority pack a lunch. I like the addition of the Fire pits outside and food truck for the non skiers or people taking a break! It's always a great time and a quick trip from the City! read more

Note that I am writing this review of Scream Mountain, which is the fall, seasonal haunted experience at Spring Mountain. I can't actually speak for the winter activities. This year was my second time coming here for Scream Mountain. First time was 4-5 years ago. It's about 50 mins from Philly but an easy drive. Parking is easy and free. Let me preface this by saying if you're looking for a truly terrifying haunted experience this isn't it. However if you're looking for a moderately spooky, fair priced, unique haunted experience, this IS it. Tickets are 30 bucks and include the 'full experience'. They also offer cheaper tickets just for the hay ride, and also a daytime, non scary children's hayride. I don't think this place is as widely known as others so it doesn't sell out and it's never packed. Anyway, let's talk about the visit. This experience is so unique compared to others in the area. You start off by riding the ski lift up to the top of the mountain. The line to get on may seem long but moves pretty quick. Take the ski lift up and hop off at the top. You then walk halfway down the mountain through haunted woods. Half way down, you exit the woods and get on the haunted hay ride which loops back down the mountain. The hay ride is longer than expected. Again, not super terrifying but it's moderately spooky and fun. After you make it down the mountain there is a small selection of food, drinks, live music and places to sit and hang. Overall this is a really fun experience and something different to do during Halloween season! read more

I was told I was driving to Spring Mountain. I had no idea what that was, but figured it was a long drive. Then I found out it was in Schwenksville. Where is the mountain? A nuclear reactor? We arrive to a haunted house ski area with every single middle school student in there area. You wait in a single line to ride up a ski lift. This was really fun to ride up at night. Then you wait in a line at the top of the hill, to go through a trail. It was an interesting journey. At the end of the village is a line for a hayride to complete your journey. This was much better than I thought it would be. I guess the bar was set low, but it was top two 2021 Halloween adventures for me. We found a parking spot, but I could see how bad it can get. Also, every single parent then has to pick up their middle schooler at the same time. read more

Great place for families. I have gone a couple of times with my 5 year old daughter. She has taken two lessons and she is now able to go slowly in the green slopes. We had a great time and food was surprisingly good. We had pizza, French fries, Mac and cheese, etc. and it was delicious. Love this place and people are really friendly here! On a good day, Spring Mountain is suitable for beginners who can ride a chair lift, and that's it. On a bad day, it's a train wreck of mismanagement. For brand-new skiers, stay away! The learning area is tiny and overcrowded. The magic carpet lift is way too short, and the slope is way too shallow, to get any real turns in. When I took my young child in Jan 2021, there was no lift attendant at the magic carpet lift. The lift kept stopping, and occasionally one of the employees would mosey over, restart it, and then vanish. Basically I paid for a lift ticket but still had to drag my kid up the bunny hill. For intermediates and up, the trails are too short and easy to be interesting. Only one side of the resort was open when I was there in Jan 2021. So again, paid full price for a lift ticket for just ONE open trail (an easy green). In past years I've had decent days at Spring with my older kid when they offered Groupon deals for lift tickets, but outside of that narrow cost/benefit window, it's just not worth it. read more

Spring Mountain is fantastic for what it is - a cheap, local alternative for your ski/snowboarding needs rather than driving up to the Poconos or beyond and spending upwards of $100/person plus travel. The trails are shorter (the 'mountain' is just under 700 ft in altitude) but if you go during the week (weekends are crazy packed), there are little to no lines and you can get numerous runs in over the course of an hour. They also offer student, women and men discounts on certain nights that make it exceptionally affordable. Yeah, the lifts are old school but such should be expected for a smaller ski operation. My wife and I moved to the area 2 years ago and I took an adult ski lesson package. While the size of the group made it a bit difficult for our two instructors to adhere to everyone's needs at all times, the package price was reasonable and I DID learn how to ski! I would also recommend grabbing food upstairs at The Powder Pig Pub. We go there for dinner and drinks on occasion and watch the skiers and boarders on the main slopes. Food is good and prices are totally reasonable. Don't really understand the negative reviews. For a small, local and affordable ski area, it delivers. read more

In terms of facilities, Spring Mountain is not really that nice of a mountain. Moreover, the ski lodge is very old and needs serious renovations. The bathrooms are in terrible shape and there is a smell of "oldness" throughout the whole facility; it harkens back to the 70's-80's. The rental skis we got were also quite beat up and bent. In terms skiing, there is only one ski lift for beginners. It has a very small hill down to the base that takes maybe 15-20 seconds after a 2-3 minute ski lift. Even my kids, who had only been skiing one weekend in their whole lives, were getting bored. I will say that the snow, at least in the morning, was fine--groomed and packed nicely. You have to pay a little more for an all areas pass--the beginner pass will only allow you to take the one 3-person lift. It got very crowded after lunch and kept stopping (presumably because people were falling as they exited the lift at the top). On the plus side, it is very close to Philadelphia and they have some good teaching programs for beginner skiers. I know a lot of people that take advantage of the after-school ski program that includes rentals and lessons in the winter/spring. Something, we may look into... However, if we go skiing again for the day, I would recommend driving an additional 15-20 minutes to Bear Creek. I probably won't come back unless it's for a weekday program or the kids want to try some more difficult ski runs. read more

(There is a magic carpet, but the motor burned out that day. Hard to find a replacement on New-year's, I guess.) I do not recommend this place if you are a black diamond skiier. My family attended a private party of 15 at Spring Mountain and encountered multiple racist interactions. The day started out poorly with Shana Kulp refusing to provide the physical liability waiver for us to sign. We requested it multiple times and in-spite of explaining in detail to her how, and why it was beneficial to have the parents sign in advance, I as to expedite the check in process, she refused. Then her manager who was responsible for processing our party, Beth spoke condescendingly and rudely to us. She rushed our party, when requested to repeat the directions begrudgingly offered the additional direction. Unfortunately, there was a child whose name was missing from the pre-paid list. When we respectfully inquired to ensure that all of the children (age 10) were included, and that no one was left out. Beth aggressively challenged our request and spoke rudely. When we reminding her that we were guests and requested that she calm herself, she elevated her position, yelled at us, completely refused to serve our party,l even though there weee additional children that needed to be processed, packed up her papers, slammed the door and left. Finally, and after the above referenced employees, and I quote "tainted" the owner, Richard Buckman", my attempts to share our negative customer experience with the Richard in hope to alert him, and receive acknowledgment of the improper service and treatment, was futile and dismissed. When I introduced myself he stated, and I quote, "I am tainted and don't want to hear about it". In the 40 plus years that I have worked with, and been exposed to public service, I have never received such deplorable customer service. My conclusion is that based on the low representation of culturally diverse guests that patronize this establishment that this dismissal of me and our guests and our experience as clients is due to our minority background. We chose Spring Mountain, because it was close to us in the Philly burbs. We went tubing. Let's say this first. We had fun no matter what and the kids want to go back asap. Winter 2016/2017 has not been the best for winter sports as it has been warm and not much snow. We went in a warm day so we were not hampered by lots of extra clothes. We immediately liked the charm of the old school style lodge. The one window we found did make for a slow start to our day but that was ok. We went tubing. The sign at the ticket window said "we sell 200 tickets for tubing per session and we are sold out. Expect to wait approx 1 hour in line". We thought there is no way it could take 1 hour to get up the hill for a run but it did. In the end they have 2 tube lanes and we got a total of 4 runs in, in our session. Would we have liked more runs and less lines? Yes but when it's crowded, you make the best of your time and fun. The ski and board slopes looked a lot less crowded and we are planning a day where I teach the kids to ski. Look at some other reviews for slope info. Only major downside I saw was the bathroom facilities are in need of some renewing. read more

My family and I wanted to learn to ski together and our first private lesson experience was not as expected. The ski school director, Jim reached out to me and made sure we would give it another try with another instructor. He was professional, prompt, knowledgeable and made sure we had a great ski lesson. Our instructor Mike, was outstanding and we really appreciate Jim's and Mike's efforts to make sure our kids had a great lesson and time on the mountain. Lessons here are terrible and a rip off. I paid for lessons for two kids here that were supposed to be 60-90 minutes according to their signs and was 45min at most. They left 15min late to begin the lessons and all the instructors assured the parents it would be 1 hour and they would bring them back to the same place. But 45 min later they were back there and left unattended because parents were told 1 hour. On top of that, the two kids were ignored because somebody was taking their fourth lesson so the instructor basically only helped them. It also took about 15-20min to get on the lift on a weeknight for a 30sec run down the hill so not worth the money even without lessons. I learned here about 20 years ago so was super disappointed to see how far its fallen. read more

This is a great family-friendly resort! We had such a great day here! Our kids 7 & 9 took group lessons (only their second ever). This resort has their act together, they had a great system to move you through purchasing, equipment rental and ski fitting that minimized crowds in one spot and made it very easy for those who felt clueless about doing this with kids. The kids admittedly did not want to ski (we ski & we want them to learn) but they had a great experience with their instructor and even wanted to ski more! I couldn't ski that day so I sat outside by a warm fire pit and watched their lesson sipping wine while my hubby did a few runs solo. When the lesson was over I treated the kids to hot coco from the food truck and we played video games in the arcade. Hubby took the 9-yr-old on some easy runs while I took our son for a bite in their upstairs restaurant overlooking the slope watching them. I had French onion soup and it was amazing! My husband had wings and was ready for disappointment, but he was happily surprised with how crispy yet tender they were! If you are like us and looking for an easy family-friendly fun skiing experience with your kids, where there aren't a million people to fight for a lesson or the last table at the restaurant, this is your spot! We absolutely loved spring mountain. We are not advanced skiers. However, the beginner mountain area was perfect. Lucky for us, it is very close to Phila. That is a big plus! I gave it only 4 stars, which is really good anyway, because the lines to purchase rental equipment and the actual rental area LINE was horrendous. We went for night skiing and spent over an hour on lines! I get it though, it was the night before MLK day. I don't think this is the case on other days- maybe? I found all staff to be helpful and friendly except for a few teens that did not have any interest in answering questions or helping. One was more interested in eating his fries before helping anyone. But overall, everyone was nice. Just those LINES!!!! The conditions were mainly ice. Not anyone's fault since the "winter" weather has been incredibly mild. I will be going back to spring mountain! I really liked it. I love how they are serious about their rules and regs! Good job!!! Went to the Powdered Pig, the restaurant . They were out of everything and what we did get was not very good at all. The manager was helpful and accommodating. However, the food was not good. It was worse than poor bar food. And I love bar food. Would NOT eat there again. But, the fries were very good!!!!! Not their fault that thEy were out of things- I it was extremeely busy that day. The restsutant was cozy and decorated in ski lodge decor. Really liked that! Spring Mountain really is a nice place to try out. I would just stay away from holidays and holiday eves! Review for the ski hill. It's been since 1987 or so since I last visited Spring as a kid. Things I remember was that it was ridiculously easy, and that we called it "Spring Bump" because it couldn't be classified as a "mountain". And honestly, returning tonight made me remember why I don't remember it. Yet, down deep I root for these old places- like drive in theaters- to survive, as they are important. if not nostalgic. Yet, the $43 weekend lift ticket made me reconsider my reconsideration. Yet, my kids had a good enough day. So...the question that must be answered: would I return to spend another $43? Read on. Don't you dare come here if...you crave vertical drop. If you are a serious skier, I'll assume you know that Spring is tiny, as in 450 vertical drop tiny. Runs last about 40 seconds, and today, there was nothing open beyond intermediates. It was basically a glorified beginner hill. No moguls, but two terrain parks with pretty serious jumps. Dare come here if...you are a beginner, a beginner, have beginner kids, or don't have time to keep driving north. Or, you are a youth group/Boy Scout leader looking for a safe place where your youth won't get hurt by difficult terrain.Or, you like snow tubing, which-judging by the laughter coming down the hill, was pretty fun. Come here frequently if...you live in suburban Philly and need a quick ski fix for a evening. It's closer than anything else. Prepare to be impressed by...the snow pack depth. It was pretty solidly covered! Snow quality was sloshy today, but then again, it was 40 degrees. Prepare to be confused by...lift prices. $43? For this? We skied Montage on Jan. 2 and we paid $36. Yet, Elk is $65 on a weekend. Plus, you save on gas and tolls. But $43 is about $23 too much, for what you get. Unless, of course, they are trying to condition beginner skiers to believe that skiing MUST be expensive! Expect to see...facilities that haven't had much upgrade or maintenance lately. Chairlift chairs are several colors, lift poles are peeling horribly, and the lodge is functional, yet small and oddly laid out. But if this is the cost saved to keep Spring operational, so be it. My kids are already beyond Spring's offerings, but someday, when grandkids come, maybe a trip back to Spring's nostalgic runs will be in order! Here is my experience as of yesterday. I went there with my family of 5 for the day. I have a 9, 6 , around 330pm i went upstairs to the bar with my 7 month old to read a book and hang with baby and have a few beers while my family skied. I asked the bartender if it would be ok to sit at the bar with the baby as i didnt want to take up a table. Also, restaurant was practicality empty. Its a better place to keep the baby from a health perspective. I was there for over an hour when i was approached by some old house frau and her very large male companion. I was told the restaurant would eventually get busy, and i was taking up space. Mind you it was not busy yet and i was ordering drinks. Also, my family had probably spent 300 bucks at their resort at this point. None of that seemed to enter the old hags mind. So, i packed up all my kids crap and went down stairs so they could make another 100 bucks off of a table that when i left was STILL not seated. Go to Bear Creek folks. Better trails, better facilities, and professional management. Not some miserable old lady 2 months from a retirement home that knows how to work in the service industry. read more

I had purchased a LivingSocial voucher for zip lining for my mother for Mother's Day as well as one for myself. We made reservations about 1 1/2 weeks in advance (the day we wanted was originally booked, but they put us on the wait list and then we were notified when a spot we wanted opened up!) We were also sent an email letting us know everything we needed to know about our zip lining tour. I really have to give props to the staff; they were amazing. Andre, Lydia, Miles, and the other guide (his name slips my mind) were awesome. Not only did they belay, zip, and guide us through the course, they also entertained us as well as one another. They really made the whole experience fun and enjoyable as well as challenging. There were 7 zips, a few rope obstacles, and 2 repels altogether resulting in a 2.5-3 hour course (Our group was awesome and completed it in 2 hours!) Another great thing about this tour was souvenir photos! For $7 a person, the guides would take photos of you on the course and email them to you at the end of the tour. This eliminates you risking your own camera/phone and lets you just enjoy the experience. It was definitely a fun day and I can't wait to come again in the future! read more

This was our first trip to Spring Mountain, and to do so on the Saturday of a holiday weekend (President's Day 2018) proved to be a bit too risky. We got to the facility at about 11am, and the main lot was already full. There were no signs to explain where to go once we parked in the secondary lot (a running theme of disorganization here), so I hiked up a steep back road with a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old. They were ready to take a nap by the time we got to civilization. Come to find out later, they have a shuttle that is cleverly disguised as a school bus. The irony of us jumping out of the way of this bus, thinking it was a non-stop caravan of field trips is a little funny now, as I look back on it. The first building we came across had signs that say you can buy lift tickets, but everything else needs to be purchased inside for some reason. Once inside, we found a long line of zombie patrons, which moved at a rate of a step every 5 minutes. I gave us about an hour to buy lessons for the boys, and get our rental equipment, which proved to be an underestimation by at least an hour. It probably took close to 40 minutes to traverse the ticket sales line, which was bravely commanded by a couple of teenagers. After 40 minutes of a mind-numbingly boring line, you can imagine what my life was like, dragging along a 6 and a 3-year old. And so we missed the noon lesson, and registered for the 2pm lessons. We were told to bring our slips to the rental counter in order to get the boys their snowboards. By now, I'm hearing the whining of growling bellies and disdain. We had packed a lunch, and now seemed to have some time to kill, so a hiking we went back to our car. With full bellies, we began the trek back to the lodge, when we saw a lineup of skiers and snowboarders. I stopped to ask what this (yet another) line was for, and found out that it was for a shuttle! The day was looking a little brighter. We were magically dropped off in front of the lodge, and after about an hour and a half of time spent at Spring Mountain, the retired school bus shuttle was so far the highlight of our trip. We walked to the snowboard rental building to pick up the boards for the boys. The line was about 20 minutes, and for some reason, they shut down one of the windows as the lines kept growing. When we got to the front of the line, the employee scanned our rental barcode, and told us that we needed to go back inside to the boot rental desk first! Good to know. We then walked inside, and saw a line of people that disappeared well into the cafeteria. So another hike to find the end of this line, and about another 30 minutes to get to the front again. With boots now in hand, I changed the boys' footwear, and headed back to the board rental shack outside. We were now about 15 minutes to the start of their lesson. Somehow we managed to get through the line for a second time in about 15 minutes, and rushed out into the snow to get to the paid lessons. This was again totally disorganized. I was directed twice to wait in the beginner area at the bottom of the hill and look for "signs". There were no signs. I asked an employee where the 2pm group was meeting, and was directed back towards the lodge. I was tempted to leave at this moment, since both boys were completely over the waiting and hiking. We managed to find the meeting place, and everything was running behind. My 3-year-old had a "snow Intro" lesson, and there was a lot of confusion on where he was supposed to go, and who was supposed to be instructing. He ended up joining my 6-year-old in the Intro to Boarding class. Mark, our instructor, was very personable and helpful. Molly joined in to assist, and I think was sort of my 3-year-old's instructor, and sort of not at the same time. The boys had a blast and dove right into the sport. They either really loved snowboarding, or were really grateful to not be waiting around or hiking. The runs were definitely geared to the beginner groups, and the difficult runs appeared to be closed when we went. It was a learning moment for sure, and I think I'll know better how to navigate this place next time. The boys ultimately had fun, and the location is obviously better for us than driving to NY. My advice... bring your own gear and get there early! read more

I really like this place! There are long connector trails through the woods that are lots of fun. Staff is helpful. I can't give it five stars. A bunch of us were stranded on the back side because they shut a lift down without having the other one ready. It matters when you're on a time limit. I will still go back! read more

Very disappointed. Came to this resort for the first time with all new snowboarders. The magic carpet was broken and the kids that were with me weren't ready for getting on a lift. They charged full price for the all access lift even though only one slope was open. The bindings on the snowboard that I got were broken and it cost me 45 minutes to exchange for a new one. Facility was definitely not ready to open for the year. The snow was hard and packed and too thin. Kids at the front desk and the rental desk were friendly and helpful but management was unwilling to be reasonable. We asked for a refund for one of the six lift tickets and a rental only minutes after having gotten there for only one of our kids because they were unable to manage in the only area that was open, and they refused. Food is far too expensive for the crappy elementary school lunch room style and dining room. Place is tired and needs a major overhaul if they are going to charge what they do. The only redeeming value is it's location to the Philadelphia area. All the kids in my party that were able to get on a lift ended up walking up the hill because there was a 15 or 20 minute wait just to get on them; which is absolutely ridiculous. Far too slow. Spend a few (and just a few) more dollars and go to a real resort. read more

This isn't the best mountain in the area but if you live in Philadelphia it's the closest and cheapest with lift tickets around $48 compared most of the other places (~$60-70). This is the mountain you use to warm up for a big trip up north or west. I spent quite a lot of time here learning how to snowboard when I converted from skiing and it was a nice chill area which I could get in multiple runs and drive home to Philly in a reasonable time. So take it for what it's worth, if you want a nicer ski experience then drive a little further to the Poconos otherwise this is a great alternative to get you in and out. read more

Growing up in Colorado, I skied World Class Mountains every outing. Living in PA now, I am thrilled that my kids have the opportunity to ski and snowboard at Spring Mountain. We are incredibly lucky to have this GEM right in our backyard. The after school program, $190 for 4 lift tickets, 4 lessons, and rental equipment, is a great deal that would easily cost well over $1,200 back home in Colorado. From check-in to turning in your boots at the end of the night, this program runs like a well-oiled machine. The instructors are not only skilled teachers but make sure the kids have fun. The groups are small and as my kids have told me, "We leave no kid behind." Thank you Spring Mountain for providing families with a close, convenient, and amazing opportunity to enjoy this fantastic winter sport. Overcrowded and run down. Horrible wait times. Terrible customer service. We had the worst experience with group ski lessons for our daughter. Save your time and money. Find somewhere else to go or a new hobby. Not even worth it if this place were free. read more

This place is not a mountain. Its a small icy hill with patches of grass peaking through the snow. When I arrived, I was told the conditions were great and that the rest of the trails (which apparently you can only access by bus) would be opened later. The conditions were terrible-- frozen tractor trails leaving dangerous grooves and bumps in the thin layer of snow. The rest of the park never opened. Definitely the worst ski resort I've ever been to. The low price might be tempting but seriously, don't waste your time. read more

We had an awful experience here. We booked their Intro to Snow lesson for my 4 year old. They had completely overbooked in advance with one instructor for 11 small children. I basically paid to watch my daughter stand alone for an hour holding her skis on the side of the bunny slope. Staff members were rude and unfriendly when asked by several parents why there was no additional help for such a large class the instructor's response was "we do this all the time." One male staff member even said to me "I don't know what to tell you sweetheart." Complete waste of money and time. I would never go back and I would advise anyone thinking about a lesson for their child to go elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend this business. We purchased tickets before the pandemic hit. I recently emailed and asked if they would honor the passes and they refused. They said they had a full season so we should have used them. I suppose their ignorance of CDC regulations and recommendations is the culprit of their poor customer service. "If you didn't know, now you know" should be their motto. My 10 and 8 yr olds had never been skiing before and we thought Spring Mount would be a great place to get them started. Initially we did a week day beginner lesson here, the lesson itself went well. The line to check in takes forever because they will process season passes in the same line for people that just need to scan their pre-purchased tickets/equipment. Then it's another line to get rental boots. Then another line to get the skis. We were late for the lesson, which usually they'll bump you to the next lesson - an hour and a half later. But the instructor kindly took them and they enjoyed their lesson. So we booked another lesson, on a Saturday. Huge mistake. They over book lift tickets for their parking capacity and have insufficient help with parking. You need to arrive early in the morning, regardless to when your lesson is, or you risk not being able to park. The beginner lesson is taught based on the lowest level person in your group. So if your experience is above knowing nothing about skiing, you're likely to stand doing nothing for the hour. My kids left the lesson to find me part way through because they weren't doing anything. It was a complete waste of money. I didn't ask for a refund, but asked that our payment go towards a useful lesson - likely needing to be a private lesson. This was quickly shot down and it was explained the onus on us to know they don't make the beginner lessons helpful for different levels of beginner. So if you didn't know, now you know. A second lesson here is a waste of money. A lot of people waiting for lessons were left to wait 20+ minutes for their lesson to start. Also if you come on weekend for lessons, you need to go to the lesson booth to get checked in, instead of the place you go to during the week to get checked in - you don't find this out until you waste your time on the wrong line. read more

This is the closest mountain to us in the Philly area. We've been here many times and have sent out kids for Ski school. We do love the proximity but unfortunately, not much else. It is a very small mountain and the condition are often not good. I wish it were! If you just want to just get on the mountain quick and do a few runs this place is good for that! read more
