Loved this little place! Highly recommend the philpot sandwich! Spicy and delicious, they can make any sandwich gluten free by request. The grill is not dedicated gluten free but if you have an intolerance and not an allergy you should be fine, or just get one of their many cold subs that don't need to go on the grill. HORRIBLE SERVICE on Sunday, 9/3/2017 at 3:50pm. Four of us from Hawai'i came to San Juan hoping for some island spirit. We did not get that here at this deli. The girl working was rude, harsh, and obviously irritated that we came in near closing time. She told me to put my paper on the counter when I'm done selecting my sandwich, and when I went to place it, she snatched it out of my hand first. Didn't even say "I can take that!", or anything! She gave us all an extremely bad attitude, and what made it worse, was that the sandwich was actually really tasty. Too bad the worker ruined most of my appetite. read more

Exactly what I would expect from a deli. The price is great for the portion size. It's clean up to date with window seating if there are any left. It gets pretty busy in the summer. This is one of my must stops when I'm on island. read more

I first tried the Spring Street Deli on a visit last July. The delicious sandwiches left me trying to recreate them back home. When my travel plans led me back to the island, I made as many stops into the deli as I could. The sandwiches are that tasty. I have only had the cold deli sandwiches, so I cannot report on the hot sandwiches. The turkey sandwich has a generous amount of turkey. I added some vegetables and cheese, and I almost could not get my mouth around the sandwich. The employees are very nice and helpful. It is my new favorite deli. read more

This is the place to go for an amazing sandwich! We came here by a recommendation from a local on the island and this place did not disappoint! I created my own sandwich and it was amazing; the meat was freshly sliced and stacked high, fresh veggies and everything you could want on fresh made bread. Super staff and sandwiches. We got takeout for three people on two different days. It's an easy walk from the Ferry terminal -- it's very convenient to park your car in line and then pick up sandwiches. The staff were very friendly and made the sandwiches as customer ordered, suggesting a couple of additions that made them even better. For more health conscious eating, they can make anything as a salad instead of sandwich, or can make wraps with lettuce leaves instead of burrito shells. The prices might sound high ($9 for a sandwich) but the sandwiches are large enough to share. Note that there is very limited seating, so expect to take the food away. read more

Amazing sandwiches! We were starving after our whale watching trip and were so happy to stop in to Spring Street Deli. Friendly, fast service and great selection of sandwich options. We were lucky to happen in right before the rush! The girls behind the counter were on top of it and were friendly and movin' fast for the crowd! Definitely a great option considering how expensive most sit-down restaurants are on the island. My boyfriend and I were here for a long weekend and visited the Spring Street Deli to grab a quick bite for lunch. I am going to say that this is the best deli I have been to in all of Washington State! They have an amazing selection of "specialty sandwiches" but also lengthy options to construct your own (including delicious Gluten Free sub rolls!) Each bite was overflowing with meat and toppings like a proper deli sandwich. Additionally, the woman working (the owner?) was so friendly and provided excellent service. We enjoyed so much we visited again the following day to pick up several extra sandwiches for dinner before they closed.
