Not a long wait around noon on a sunny summer weekend. We were given a table with silverware and filled glasses of water. We were confused because we weren't given any menus to look at. A quick comment about my food preferences, if I am ordering a burger, I don't like big half raw burgers that tend to be what restaurants serve. Pancrepe light and tasty and the Avocado toast on a slice of focaccia with bacon and 2 poached eggs. Focaccia was crispy on the surface yet wonderfully soft on the inside. Prefer this over a piece sourdough toast any day. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. The young lady today especially helpful. Oh and try their 3 hot sauces. I bought two of them. They were still tender and flavorful. No grease from frying. It's a clever way to recreate burnt ends! The smash burger was done classically. Some relish and mustard, good crisp on the meat, and a soft bun. You can't go wrong. Also they offer fries too ways. Shoestring or jojo's. Wowza! This places hit all my needs after a nice beach walk up in Anacortes. The vibes when walking in were spectacular, the music was very indie/chill/pop, there was so much to look at and so much art! It was well seasoned, tender, aioli added such a nice touch. The broccolini was cooked very well. Next visit, I'll ask for more aioli to dip the ribs in. So good! My bf got the Oklahoma fried onion burger. It looked so good with the ooey gooey cheese. The onions were cut quite thick but overall good flavor. Came here from Oak Harbor for ours son's 4th birthday breakfast and it was AMAZING! We've been here a few times before but it's been awhile. Our server was awesome and attentive. We don't often get service like this anymore, full coffee cups and full water cups the entire meal. Another server brought a little toy to keep our son entertained. The food was amazing, so filling and so tasty! The schnitzel was crispy and the potatoes were super crispy which I love! The amount of food for the price is spot on. The server didn't rush us out and we enjoyed our time together as a family for our sons bday. The atmosphere was chill and we loved the window spot. So, I decided to give it a try and was very happy I did so. There is a real diner feel to the atmosphere, complete with counter seating and chalkboard menu. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The pulled pork sandwich was suggested during the conversation about going to Dad's, but after reading the menu I decided on the Cuban sandwich because I really like those sandwiches. This Cuban was a little different because the meat was chopped and mixed with a tasty sauce. I still thought it was very good and didn't have any issues with it. The sandwich included jo-jos (some call the potato logs) that were coated in a rub. I thought they were cooked to perfection and tasted great. I am a fan of spicy food and couldn't resist trying the house hot sauce that they call "Badassco Hot Sauce". I asked the server about the sauce and was told there are two versions. One is hotter than the other. I tried the hottest version that included Scorpion peppers in the ingredients. It was very spicy indeed!! read more

This place has a great vibe, located in downtown Anacortes we stumbled upon it while walking around. The guy who took our order was so friendly. This seems like the type of place where most customers are regulars, lots of people on a first name basis. I had a sandwich made up of flavourful pork belly pieces, sautéed onions and mushrooms served on thick pieces of bread with some sort of spread (maybe an aioli?). This was a knife and fork type of sandwich, hearty and packed full. It was served with thick cut fries. It took forever to finish my plate, but was so worthwhile. I wish I had asked his name- but he was the one whose laugh sounded like Seth Rogen's- anyways, he was genuine, kind, attentive, the right amount of chatty, etc., with literally every table. This place was fab...totally killer vibe...pics of dads all over...globes...retro...art deco stuff...just super cool vibe. But hey...you can't eat that stuff so I'll get to it. The food was amazing as was the staff. I rarely enjoy coffee at any restaurant as I'm snobby that way and like it strong. I was pleasantly surprised from the coffee...to the scratch made biscuits...the gravy...brisket...pancake (big and thin...perfect for rolling up)...all of it.
