Lovely space in an older craftsman. They've made it feel warm with the deep blue and lovely artwork. Service was excellent. We shared the mushroom fettuccine and had rotating cider. So good! Nothing beats fresh pasta with a light creamy sauce, chunks of fresh mushrooms, and a hint of lemon. We savored every bite. Would highly recommend!

I was on vacation with my friends and we decided to try Tenth House. We were seated immediately and took our seats. We chose a very nice bottle of wine and chatted while we settled in. We started with the Peach and Heirloom Tomato. It was great. Like summertime on a plate. We ordered a bit of flatbread too which was a nice addition. We studied the menu because everything looked so very good. We decided to get four dishes and promised to share, just a bite with each other. Ha. I got the Verde Lasagna which was quite substantial and very tasty. My friends got the Dungeness Crab Alla Chitarra. Fantastic. Lamb Pappardelle Al Ragu that was deeply flavorful and quite rich. I was just a bit envious... My other friend ordered a pizza: The Walla Walla which came out so late we thought they'd forgotten about it altogether. We were all done with our dishes and finally it arrived. I didn't try any but I heard it was good but just a bit underdone. Perhaps because they forgot to make it and rushed. Not a big deal but a small mistake that threw off the rhythm of the meal just a tiny bit. We shared a piece of olive oil cake that was ok. The service was a bit inattentive and we wondered where our server had gone a few times. Atmosphere was nice as it was a perfect summer evening. Upscale but casual. All in all 8/10. We will be back again someday soonish. Thanks!

    Come on over! Welcoming entrance!

First time in San Juan islands for a girls trip over Memorial Day weekend. We grabbed spot at Tenth House and loved every minute of it. Super chill vibe and all the servers are super friendly. We ordered three apps, two entrees and one salad. The pace was great and we enjoyed every bite. We were informed everything is homemade and prep sometimes may take longer than anticipated. Grateful for the heads up but things did not take longer at all. Everything was great and all the plating was beautiful as well. To top it all off enjoying all the good food al fresco was nothing short of amazing! If I'm in the area again, I'll be sure to come again. Next time I hope the pizza oven is fired up. Found out it wasn't pizza night the night we were there.

1st it is not a say to find food options available at 8pm on a Saturday in June. This was a last minute takeout order. Definitely meant for a lovely meal onsite - very expensive for takeout. The are very very kind! The Caesar salad is with kale and the chicken parm is HUGE but spaghetti is an additional $8

This was the best meal we had on our trip. The bread was incredible, the MEATBALLS OMG (it was a special so I apologize if they don't have them but if they do you MUST try), and the lasagna was as good as home, chicken parm was better than home. My only complaint is that I don't live closer to come more often. Such a cute, homey vibe. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 vibes.

SO TASTY! This was such a cute brunch find! It's located a bit off from the main busy strip of Friday Harbor in a standalone house with ample outdoor patio seating. It was three of us and we easily got a table outside around 10AM on a Sunday for brunch. Although it's a short menu, I had the hardest time deciding what to order! Everything sounded so delicious! All their food is sourced from local farms and bakeries on the island and across Skagit Valley. I opted with the BLT with and egg and a hot latte. The BLT was delicious! The perfect savory breakfast item with such fresh ingredients. The place itself has both indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. Service is great and we didn't feel rushed at all to finish our meals! I would definitely come here again to try another one of the entree options!

Food was great and tasted very fresh! The eggs in purgatory was delicious! The patio is dog friendly also which was perfect for us

Tenth House was my favorite restaurant my husband and I tried during our 4 day stay on San Juan Island! The vibe is modern but cozy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We loved the seating outside and had a nice honey hard cider to enjoy in the sun. We ordered the marinated olives, a chicory salad with beets and Bleu cheese, the dungeness crab linguine and the summer squash pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were super fresh and many of them locally sourced. This is a don't miss spot if you're visiting SJI!

Both clams and oysters were still out and we were hoping for more fresh ones and Rockefellers. I guess it's a good indication this is a popular restaurant. We ordered the signature calamari app. This dish is unique with bits of tomatoes, raisins and pine nuts. Very fun to nibble on without ruining our appetite. Recommend. Entrees were great. Hubby was impressed by the taste and good portion size of his veal marsala compared to what he had back in the mainland. The broccolini side was outstanding never seen him so excited over eating veg before. And the fact he didn't offer me any. Must be good. My puttanesca was delish especially if you like olives. Added chicken for protein. Appreciate it's a dish that doesn't have butter or cream. Love the anchovy flavor in the sauce! On day 2, we opted for salad as entree since our salad app on day one was so impressive. Hubs enjoyed his dinner size Caesar salad with 3 prawns and I really enjoyed my dinner house salad with 3 scallops. The little nuggets of dried cherries and blue cheese were amazing. So fresh and scrumptious in every way you can tell it's house made dressing and croutons (for caeser). Typically don't get salads but we crave the ones here. Impressed by the large dessert menu. Enjoyed my refreshing raspberry sorbetto for something light and dairy free. They have a plethora of classic desserts like chocolate torte, lava cake, ice creams etc but also offer gelato, sorbet, banana fosters and dessert cocktails. The tiramisu was decent my hubby had it 2 days in a row. Enjoyed the hot complimentary table bread. So good with their table side evoo and balsamic. What's awesome is for both servers 2 nights in a row, they offered refills on the bread. I was so happy because I don't normally eat bread but being on vacay this was a treat for us to have warm hot crispy yet soft bread! They have non alcoholic beer and beverages as well we were impressed. And watermelon juice!!not expected which makes this place family friendly. Along with their huge menu of wine and cocktails). This place is great for outliers like us who have many dietary restrictions. Dim lighting, table linens. Fine dining vibes with new plates and utensils with every course. Have bigger tables for larger parties. Solid Italian in SJI. Can easily be one of the best on the island. Glad they are open on most days!!

Being mainly a tourist town, Friday Harbor isn't necessarily the greatest of dining destinations…read more Many of the establishments cater to the 'one and done' tourist crowd, but Van Go's Pizza is a real gem that has the chops to maintain a devoted regular clientele. THE ROSES: Located a block off the main drag in Friday Harbor, VGP is situated in a cozy, peaceful space. On nice days I highly recommend dining in the garden space out back. The salads and pizzas are excellent; they only do a relatively thin crust pizza, but it is done perfectly, and the toppings are of excellent quality. They have a very good selection of pizzas on offer; all the 'usual suspects', and a very creative selection of their own concoctions. For the GF crowd, they also offer a very nice 10" GF crust. Very good selection of wines, ciders, and beers (both bottle and tap). The staff is truly delightful; friendly and very efficient. They really leave you feeling that they appreciate your business. THE THORNS: The menu seems a little limited in that it appears to be just pizza and salads, but I think I'd rather dine in a place that does a few things really well rather than one that has a menu that's 'A jack of all trades but master of none'. THE VERDICT: Van Go's Pizza is a real standout on the Friday Harbor casual dining scene. It definitely worth the short walk up from the ferry landing and away from the tourist traps. Highly recommend!

We have eaten all across Western WA with many disappointing recommendations but this one blew us away. First things first. Make a reservation. There is almost always a wait and cant imagine how long it would be without one. Great small place with an electric vibe as soon as you walk in. It has that homey chaotic feel as it is a smaller place, very busy but still very inviting. We were met by Papa who is hilarious and just sets the tone for the experience here. All of the staff are very engaging and have wonderful personalities as well as are very proficient in their positions. This place is very much dinner and a show. It was great just watching the mechanics of how everyone worked together and interacted with each other as well as customers. We sat at the bar and I ordered a drink while my wife ordered a handmade lemonade. (she does not like the sugary ones from the gun so the bartender made her one from scratch-she loved it). There are 2 menus, the traditional menu and the specials board. We were served homemade bread with oil and balsamic and also ordered a Caesar salad to split for a starter. I ordered the lasagna from the traditional menu and my wife ordered the Pork Belly Cannelloni from the specials board, both were absolutely delicious. You can tell they make their pastas from scratch as the texture was spot on. The flavor combination for the cannelloni was something I had never had and might be my favorite pasta dish I have ever had. We couldn't finish the portions that were given to us and we were excited to get to enjoy them again at home the next day. We did order the Creme Brulé Cheesecake to take as well and that was also delicious. We got the check and had to relook at the bill to make sure they got everything. For the level and quality of food, we expected the bill to be much higher. Overall we cannot recommend this place enough. We live in Renton and would easily make the drive to eat here in Anacortes with no hesitation. This is our current new favorite restaurant and can't wait to come back.

The ambiance is cozy and warm, feeling like you are invited to dinner at your friends home, if your friend also happens to have an exceptional wine cellar, a farm, and is a wonderful chef. The way Duck Soup executes farm to table with such beautiful presentation is really a treat and the combination of textures and flavors was a journey that is worth a trip to San Juan Island alone. We had wonderful service and we were so grateful for recommendations on how to navigate through the menu! We started with the Spiced Carrots - they were incredibly paired with a salad, cracker, and cheese combo - perfection. For the main course we split the scallops and the filet. Scallops were served with fresh fingerling potatoes and this fresh, citrus/herb forward sauce that was so bright and refreshing (we are still talking about it). The filet was cooked great and served with a Demi glacé that was also just so perfect. the pomme puree was also flavorful and had a lot of amazing flavor on its own! Tucked in an isolated, forested area 10 minutes away from the downtown area, the restaurant was a little lodge building you had to drive to on a dark road. Was it worth the trip? Definitely! We were greeted by the servers right away and were seated right next to the wine bottle area. The interior of Duck Soup had a really cozy and warm ambiance to it; it felt like the ideal place for couples and families. We were first served bread with anchovy pate, which, as a bread enthusiast, is something I've never had before. This is something I certainly want to add to my food circle. Our main dishes were pretty good! My girlfriend got the House-Made Tagliatelle Pasta, and I got the Duck Cassoulet. Personally, I like the pasta more than my dish because my duck dish was mostly beans. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the beans, the quality of the roasted duck was really good. Thank you to the Duck Soup staff for having us! This is worth a try if you're planning a Friday Harbor trip.
