Scenic course up in the Milpitas hills. Not too difficult to get to despite it being tucked away in the hillside. The course itself is well enough maintained and the views are gorgeous. Had my first experience playing here one weekend in winter and morning tee times were delayed due to frost. The staff were very good about keeping track of and rearranging groups based on who was still there by the time they could start sending groups out. There are a few holes where you can't see the fairway when you're teeing off (due to the hilly terrain) so just be careful that you're not hitting into the group ahead of you. The course is walkable, but seemed to be uphill both ways! The par 5s are long so you're for a trek (or at least a good workout!) if you decide to walk instead of ride.

We've been playing golf around the Bay Area and we just came across this golf course in Milpitas. While driving to this place, we noticed the hills and mountains in front of us. We thought that we will encounter a lot of hillsides and slopes and will make this a challenging course for us We didn't have any problem checking in and we started our tee time on time at 11:37 am. While playing, we found out that this is a flat course. Its fairways are wide open and the greens are well maintained. For par 4 holes, the yardage is not that far and can be reached in 2 even though you're not a long hitter. There are only a couple of par 4 that are more than 400 yards. For par 5, it's also reachable in 3 or 2 and has a better chance for a birdie or par I liked the layout of this course and for a weekend golfer, you'll enjoy every hole. The pace of the game is not bad. Since we played on a weekday, you'll see several players on the course but except for a few delays on Par 3 holes, our group was moving at a regular pace. We finished the 18 holes in 4 hours and we thought that it was an average time to play 18 holes Compared to the other courses we played, we rate this place as an 8 out of 10. The rate is reasonable and the golf shop was professional. Our group enjoyed our play in this course and we decided to include this as one of our regular courses.

Came here with the Fam for a birthday party for one of the Little One's school friends. I swear I haven't been to Golfland in probably 20+ years (maybe even closer to 30. That's how old I am). Glad to see it's still up and running and still a lot of fun. Young children are still a bit too small to really enjoy mini golf, or laser tag, but they had a blast running around and playing the video games. It's great to see that some things about this place haven't changed. The host of the party also purchased game cards for everyone, and each card came loaded with 100 credits. Dang! that's a lot. They were only valid for the video games, and none of the ticket or prize games, which honestly makes sense, as buying in bulk probably comes with a big discount, and no arcade wants you racking up a mountain of prizes off a party package. Still, it worked out fine because the little ones had a blast on the video games, and I even snuck in a round of Space Invaders myself ;) Even for Golfland, I can't write a review without mentioning food. Yes, it was party food, but I'll try to be nice: - Pizza: Cheese, chicken, and Veggie. Choices were great. However, the pizza quality was pretty mediocre. Akin to Little Caesar's. I'd say Chuck E. Cheese, but honestly I've never tried theirs so can't really say. - "Famous Thick Shake": I did go rogue a bit and purchased my own order of this shake that they advertise on the posters. First thing you notice? The size. It's huge! They offer a small and a large, but the "large" is about three times bigger for just $1 more. And that's how they get you to buy the large. At $9 vs. $8, of course you wouldn't order a small! The "shake" is really more like soft serve ice cream in a cup, almost like a McFlurry. I wouldn't try sucking it up through a straw though. That's futile. You get to choose three toppings. I went with two: cookie dough and coconut, which kind of makes a coconut chocolate chip cookie? It was pretty good, though way too much for one person. The Mrs., The Little One, and I together couldn't even finish it. Of note: the receipt labeled it as an "IG Thick Shake," which made me curious. I assumed IG meant instagram. So I hopped onto Instagram and searched "Golfland Thick Shake" to see what the hype was about. Let's just say the search results ended up being NSFW. Not what I was expecting. Overall, Golfland is still a solid spot for birthdays, family fun, and nostalgia. The food isn't why you come, but the golf, games, and sweet treats definitely make it worth the trip.

Such an underrated hang out spot…read more I haven't read the other reviews, and I'm guessing it has to do with expensive food/drink and the kids serving not being up to people's unrealistic expectations. The biggest problem I've ever had in 4 lifetime visits here is one of the kids forgetting to bring my soda 3 times, and even then he was polite, apologetic, and brought it after a few reminders. First, golf: don't worry. Almost everyone sucks. I do. It's a great place to learn and have fun with friends. The food and drink taste great. Yes, the prices for food and non-adult beverages are absurd. That's true. Cocktails are actually very reasonably priced, and even if you're not golfing it's a nice "sports bar" and they have a great looking patio (that I've never actually seen open - I assume warm weekend nights).

I was assured that the setup would work well for us. However, when we arrived, we were assigned two bays with high-top seating that was not appropriate or comfortable for our group. I went to speak with staff about switching bays, but the information kept changing. First, I was told we might need to wait 30 minutes which I was willing to do, then later it became two hours. As a result, our group spent the event feeling cramped and uncomfortable and not able to sit together. We were also told that our bay time would begin when we actually started playing. We didn't begin until much later after our reservation started troubleshooting the Bay's, yet a staff member came by after only 1.5 hours to tell us our time was ending, despite having reserved two hours. They were able to reimburse us $25 for the time we didn't play. So just know the phone lines, people downstairs, and the waiters all give different Information. Overall, this place has a lot of potential, but I wasn't able to relax and enjoy the time unfortunately. If you're visiting with kids, elderly family members, or anyone who would benefit from the lower couch seating, be sure to specifically request it in advance and confirm it again when you arrive. The golf was fun though and wish we were able to actually enjoy it, not sure I'm willing to pay 300-400 to take a chance again.

What's great is you can also use the card to pay for friends, which makes it even more flexible. The course itself is great for learning. There are a couple of holes where you can really open up and drive, and the par 3s are solid and fun to play. The only downside is the water hazard can get a bit smelly, but it's not a dealbreaker. If you're just getting into golf or want a relaxed place to improve your game, I definitely recommend checking it out.

My answer to this is that this is ridiculous. I've lived in San Jose, Ca for over 15 years and this driving range is always dirt! There are no golf courses in Santa Clara county that look like this one. Driving ranges are supposed to be what you might expect on a golf course. Lastly her other statements on the type of soil is present is a poor excuse. Everyone knows that the groundskeeper maintains the golf courses but they need to have the resources to do this. When you look at other golf courses, what do you see? Golf courses maintenance costs money. How do you think other 9 hole golf courses are able to make theirs look nice? Everything being about equal something needs to happen. This golf course needs to improve its driving range. It will need to be closed until these changes are made. If it's really being used for drainage this water needs to get directed to a different location. New soil needs to be brought in from somewhere. Grass has at least basic maintenance that includes water and fertilizers. What does the people that go here to use it want to happen?
