We had the most wonderful experience in the paint department on Friday evening. We have a large building in need of painting - trim and doors, with some stucco patching & painting thrown in. We had a paint chip from the stucco & wanted to get a sample mixed that we could test before committing to a gallon. Mac stepped in, said he could do it, & to swing back by in 10-15 minutes. We wandered the store, picking up other supplies for our project & then came back to make decisions about rollers. Mac came over & spent 10 minutes sharing his knowledge on paint viscosity, roller thicknesses, paint application & it was all done with kindness & making certain we understood. I call customer service like this the "Nordstrom" approach, where sharing thoughts can be done without arrogance or talking down to the customer. Mac was definitely going above & beyond with us BUT it's obvious that he treats all customers like that. Lowe's - you've got a great employee in the paint department. I've had multiple bad experiences at this Lowe's, but an incident from about two weeks ago finally pushed me to leave a review. A few months ago, there was an employee working self-checkout who seemed completely opposed to the concept of self-checkout. Instead of letting customers scan and pay for their own items, he insisted on doing it himself, argued with customers for no apparent reason, and turned what should have been a two-minute transaction into a frustrating ordeal. Then came the recent trip to the garden center. The only employee around was the cashier. We asked where the flower bulbs were, and her response was essentially, "I'm just a cashier, I don't know." Now, I don't expect every employee to know the exact location of every product in the store, but if you're working in the garden center, flower bulbs are about as basic as it gets. At the very least, I expected an attempt to help. Instead, we got a shrug. It somehow got worse at checkout. We asked whether some bulbs that had already started sprouting qualified for a discount. Rather than checking with a supervisor, calling someone from the department, or making any effort whatsoever to find an answer, she basically said she wanted no part of the conversation and left it at that. She then proceeded to miscount multiple items, turning a simple checkout into an unnecessarily long process. The best part came at the end, when she asked what flower bulbs even were and whether they're basically plants you buy instead of a full plant. After spending the entire interaction working in the garden center, it was honestly surreal. I shop at Lowe's often, which is why this is so disappointing. I don't expect employees to be walking encyclopedias, but I do expect basic competence, basic customer service, and at least a minimal effort to help customers. I have always had a not so great experience when I go to Lowe's. I went recently to the paint department to try and get my paint color matched after having a terrible experience at the local Home Depot and refused to buy paint from them. At Lowe's, I encountered Patrick. He went above and beyond to help me and share what he knew. He was able to perfectly match my paint with the sample I brought in. And he took the time to answer my questions and talk through other things with my home projects I wanted to do and I ended up walking out with the paint I needed and my color matched paint. If everyone gave service like Patrick, the retail world would be in a much better spot. read more

I came out to check the new Christmas decorations. They have a great selection of outside inside decorations, wreaths, garlands, ornaments, Christmas village, inflatables, you name it. The prices are very reasonable. I really like the giant Yeti and the big pinecones. They also have amaryllis and poinsettias. I am very happy that they put labels for different products on each section of the aisle that you can see from far away. The staff are very nice and helpful at checkout. Purchased a microwave online and decided to pick it up here since we were in the area. There was a small wait for the curbside pickup. The staff did help put the microwave in the car. The staff wasn't very gentle though. Drove home, opened the box, installed the heavy microwave, and realized it wasn't secured. Looked in and out the box to find that the two main screws were missing. Then it dawned on us that this was an opened box as the box was taped up when we picked it up. We were furious as we purchased a NEW microwave. Also, we're an hour and a half away, meaning it would take us three hours round trip to go back to the store. Called the store multiple times. They let the phone ring for like 5 minutes before picking it up. Explained the situation, the associate said we can exchange the item for STORE CREDIT and repurchase the item. Asked for a name, they refused to provide one. Asked who would help us at the store, but they again refused to provide a name and said any associate can help. No acknowledgment or apologies about how shitty the situation was. This is the first and last time we're shopping at Lowe's. read more

HB Lowe's Location. I ordered four FLEX tools through the Lowe's app for business pickup. Pickup was quick and polite. I counted the boxes and loaded them into my work SUV. The trouble started at the job site the next day. Two of the four boxes had cut factory seals. The other two were sealed. One open box held an angle grinder with scuffs on the battery compartment and grinding dust around the motor housing. That is a used return, not new. The other open box looked like a repacked store demo. The store showed plenty of inventory, at least five more units, so why choose open boxes and why sell used items as new. Lesson learned. I will take my business elsewhere. If I must shop at HB Lowe's again, I will inspect every box on the spot and be very picky. I expect new, not preowned. I visited Lowe's today and was initially assisted by Justin, who was extremely helpful and kind. He went out of his way to help us move some very heavy items to the front so we could check on a possible price match, which we really appreciated. At the front, he greeted who we believe was a manager, possibly named Tassia. At that time, she appeared to be engaged in conversation with another employee and guest. She responded to Justin by saying, "Oh, you actually want me to work?" While this may have been intended as a joke, it felt inappropriate to say in front of customers. Unfortunately, our experience did not improve from there. She did not acknowledge us directly, avoided eye contact, and denied the price match very quickly. The interaction felt dismissive, as though she was uninterested in assisting us. We chose to purchase the item anyway because it was a necessity. However, during checkout, there was another lapse in attention--after scanning the items, she did not communicate the total or prompt us to pay. We stood waiting for about 30 seconds before realizing she was simply not engaged. Overall, while Justin provided excellent customer service, the remainder of the experience was disappointing and did not reflect the level of service we would expect. read more

I ordered some tree lights 20 boxes to be exact one of them only half the string would light. I tried to return the one box and Lowe's stated that sales after Christmas were final. These lights were not for Christmas. They were four my trees in the backyard that I wrapped. I will not return to the store or order anything online again. Everyone was friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. But when it came to their products, they just couldn't deliver....literally. In short, they failed to deliver twice when I had workers all lined up with nothing to do because materials never arrived. So I had placed a sizeable order for a job in the mountains and was told it could only be delivered on Tuesdays or Thursdays. I scheduled delivery for a Thursday over 3 weeks out to allow plenty of scheduling time. I later received a call stating I was undercharged and my total was actually a few hundred dollars more than originally paid. Frustrating, but oh well. A couple days later, I received a call stating one of my items has gone clearance and the only one in stock was missing parts. Another frustration. So finally, my scheduled Thursday delivery is approaching. The Monday prior, I received both an email and text message confirming my Thursday delivery. Then Wednesday, less than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery, I had workers lined up and my wife took two days off of work. I was loading up my truck with both borrowed and my own tools. I received an email out of the blue saying my delivery was rescheduled for two weeks later! I panicked and called the store, only to be told the soonest they could deliver was now Saturday. We were already set for Thursday, so my wife and I were at the job site in the mountains and just had our helpers do menial, unrelated tasks before the now Saturday delivery. Halfway through waiting around Saturday, I started calling Lowe's stores trying to figure out where my materials were. After hours of calling back and forth, I finally got confirmation that my materials were not to be delivered. I cancelled the order. I just went to Home Depot this morning and so far, it is much more promising. Also, they agreed to match Lowe's prices for everything. I should have just started with the Home Depot. read more

Shout-out review for Pia & Steve! I had a home project to purchase a plant pot with holes for months to incorporate with my larger decorative planter in my living room; so I went to Lowes near my tire shop. Reason for everything this morning and the delay was perfect on the nail that was on my tire, ugh! Pia came to me to ask me if i needed help as I was browsing. She suggested some items and with the paid receipt, she was able to suggest getting the holes taken out in the bottom of the pot too. Great TIP to check for with their tools department there. She looked for Steve and during her break, they assisted me together. That was priceless. Thank you for the great experience that you both gave me for my solution that I needed for months. I will certainly be back at this location with the value that was given to offer on customer service and the variety of selection to look for pots was appreciated. Customer service is terrible. I requested a return, but they said I need a return authorization from the manufacturer. However, the manufacturer said they only provide it to the dealer. Basically, Lowe's and Whirlpool keep passing me back and forth. This is my first time buying here and it will definitely be my last. We were very pleased with the selection of taps and shower nozzles. The "tp" dispenser selection was also impressive! We quickly made our selections, and headed for the self checkout! While checking out at self-checkout I had my pieces lined up for scanning and carrying, an employee named Michelle approached and started physically moving my items to count them without asking. I politely told her not to touch my items "I need to count them", I responded " you can count without moving them" Her response? "I can touch them if I want, a lot of people touched them before me." I was honestly shocked by how rude and dismissive that was. Poor Customer Service and Delivery Experience I would like to provide feedback regarding the extremely poor customer service and delivery experience I recently encountered. After our refrigerator stopped working after 10 years, we were in urgent need of a replacement due to an upcoming heat wave. During the Labor Day sale, we visited multiple stores but chose to purchase from Lowe's because Allan contacted us and assured us that if we came in before 4:30 PM, we could have the refrigerator delivered the next day. We were pleased and immediately went to the store to make the purchase. While speaking with the salesman, we clearly mentioned that the refrigerator needed to be placed on the second floor and that there was a stairway. He assured us this would be noted for the delivery team. However, the next day, our experience went from 100% satisfaction to total disappointment. The delivery arrived with three people who said they were unaware that the refrigerator needed to go up the stairway to the second floor. They informed us that they would need a team of four people for that task. As a result, they could only leave the refrigerator in our garage and told me to call customer service to reschedule the delivery. I can't blame the delivery team since it seems the salesman might have failed to note the special instructions. It took me 3 hours on hold to finally reschedule for the following Saturday. After waiting six days, I was informed on Saturday morning by the delivery driver that they were unable to complete the delivery again due to not having four people on their team. I explained that this had already happened once, and customer service had confirmed that everything would be arranged for this delivery. In the middle of our conversation, the driver hung up on me. Frustrated, I called customer service again to explain what had happened. They called the delivery team back, and within 10 minutes, they arrived--this time with only two people. After trying to communicate with them, they said they still couldn't deliver the refrigerator due to the lack of manpower, and I would need to reschedule again. I was beyond frustrated at this point and told them to take the refrigerator back. Initially, they refused to take it but after contacting Lowe's, who contracts with a third-party delivery team, they agreed to take it back. Lowe's then offered me a discount if I wanted to reschedule again, but after two failed attempts, I no longer trust the service. This was my first experience with Lowe's, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. My experience went from excitement and happiness to complete disappointment and frustration. If Lowe's aims to continue using this third-party delivery service, I wouldn't be surprised if more customers experience similar issues. I sincerely hope Lowe's improves its customer service and delivery operations in the future. I want to express my frustration and thank you for the poor customer service and delivery experience we received. My mom and child had to endure an entire week without a refrigerator during last week's heat wave, all due to multiple delivery failures. Not only did we suffer from this delay, but we also missed out on several Labor Day sales and discounts at other stores because we trusted Lowe's to deliver on time. I made a list of items that I needed and went to Lowe's. The list included kitchen cleaners and bug spray. The heat in SoCal has brought out the critters, and it is high time I brought that under control. Other items include gorilla adhesive tube and a water filter for the refrigerator. I'm hoping that I got the right model for the filter, and it was the most expensive. At home, it was the first thing I checked. I got two types of bug spray, and the aerosol one did not perform as stated on the can...bugs just keep on scattering when they are supposed to be killed on contact. I will be using the home defense one next to see if that works better. One item we asked for help on was (unfortunately) not on the shelf, but we were pointed in the right direction. That's kind of like the signage on the front of the building. It shows workers still working on a neverending project. One good thing that happened at Lowe's is that we were immediately helped upon checkout. We got most of the necessary stuff. read more

Absolutely the worst! Lowe's has been giving me the run around since October (it's now mid - Jan) regarding the replacement of my Over the range microwave. They have delayed two back order deliveries and now I ordered one in stock and I cannot get ahold of them to install (they should be contacting me).
