He helped us with several tricky projects -- painting front porch to appear as wood planks, a fireplace, epoxy garage floor, etc. Simon is super professional, patient and kind. He's a star employee in all ways. I believe he has been with GANAHL for 20+ years. All GANAHL LUMBER staff are amazing. They helped us with several house flip projects. Great selection of doors and windows -- Andersen, LaCantina, WinDor, AG Millworks, Jeld-Wen, TruStile, Therma-Tru, Plastpro, Masonite, and their own GANAHL custom Doors. GANAHL is my go-to for PVC composite products such Azek (my fave), Trex, and Timber Tech. Also our go-to for redwood, cedar and exotic hardwoods. In the 15+ years shopping here, only one time had an issue -- but it was immediately rectified -- with PVC they delivered. The staff are nice and attentive. Wide selection of merchandise. Good amount of parking. Conveniently located at the freeway triangle. Unfortunately, their business may have false advertising. The Custom Millwork section of their website claims "Endless Possibilities" "with a complete range of services" "to work with any dimensions you need" and "can flawlessly replicate and cut any profile". However, I requested a simple cut of a triangular prism, which they could not fulfill. Therefore, their possibilities are not endless, they don't provide a complete range of millwork services, they cannot work with just any dimensions you need, and they cannot cut any profile. I had high hopes. I left the store disappointed. I already knew Lowe's and HomeDepot couldn't do it. Now I know Ganahl Lumber doesn't provide a robust wood-cutting service either. read more

I'm so upset right now. I have gone into this ganahl lumber to purchase molding, lumber, 2 ULTRA MILGARD SLIDING GLASS DOORS in the past. This time I went to look at the windows. As I was looking a sales woman asked if I needed help and I stated no I just wanted to look at the colors and things. I think I have a window company, I'm not sure. Her response to me was, "I'M NOT WELCOME HERE". She told me her manager feels the same way and that I can speak with him. He said had the same response and I am so taken back I needed a nap when I got home. I am 61 and never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect. 5 stars because of in the Door/Window department. Normally I hate coming to Ganahl Lumber and try to avoid it at all costs because, as a woman, I'm always either 1) treated like I'm a complete idiot or 2) completely ignored and not helped However, Rob Adams is AMAZING! He is so nice, so helpful and best of all, he treats me with the same level of respect that he would an experienced General Contractor or Product Manager. I was so impressed with my positive experience and the outstanding customer service I received! Rob was able to find matches to my old hardware that had rusted and needed replaced - which was tricky because my hardware especially the hinges were an odd shape/size and I wanted them to match the old ones. When I had tried to do this about 6 months ago at this same Ganahl lumber another employee (I don't remember his name) told me - "We don't carry those - maybe try Amazon" which wasn't very helpful and hence my 6 months of discouragement before I decided to try back again) but Rob spent a lot of time with me looking online and through product catalogs until he found the shape and finish that I needed. Then he ordered them for me, the were delivered very quickly and were perfect! Gahnal may be good for buying lumber but don't buy doors and windows from them! We made a mistake ordering over $300K worth from them for our new construction. They are not responsive. We often need to call them multiple times to get things done. They made a mistake in ordering and refuse to replace our sliding doors (only offering some credit back). We asked for slight modifications such as replacing a standard lock with a key lock and they would not do it. Our overall experience was very bad. There are many places to buy doors and windows. I callled Ganahl because our window/door provider, Andersen said they were an installation provider and we needed a gliding door panel. I talked to a woman in windows/doors who told me that Danny (the installer) was available to come out regarding the panel and order it -- that was on 7/18/25 and today is 7/25. I gave them a courtesy call because I had not heard from Danny and I ordered a panel from another window/door company. I never heard from Danny despite the fact that I made him a sheet of information regarding the panel. It appeared that Danny did not know anything about Andersen doors/windows from our conversation. Needed quite a bit of cedar for the gates I am building, and was happy they are very accommodating with deliveries. Cost me $95 to deliver 216 linear feet of Cedar 2x6s to Newport Beach which was quite reasonable considering the alternatives. I asked for s4s (surfaced four sides) and that it be clean (minimal knots) and all the 18 pieces looked great. It was delivered the very next day. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and polite. I placed an order for 15 gallons of paint ceiling paint from the Benjamin Moore line, and I tell them that I'm going to need 15 more gallons next week and 45 gallons of wall paint for this project, the girl in the paint department confirmed the cost of paint, I show up the following day, she's trying to charge me 100.00 extra per 5 gallons bucket of paint, I tell her that I have a paint account and I have set prices, she says that is the price and she can't do anything about it, I tell her to call Simon the guy in charge of the paint department, she tells me no she can't call him. I call another Ganahl lumber and ask for prices on my paint account, they confirm the price I'm telling the girl at the paint department, I tell her and she says no, there's nothing I can do about it, so I tell her that I get way cheaper prices at their competitors and she says we'll go to them then, I ask her are you sure?, she says yes go to them, completely smug, I leave and call the competitor put in the paint order drive to them and purchase my paint from them. I call Ganahl lumber today to speak with Simon to explain what happened and he's not having it, he's more concerned with me still picking up the paint because they're going to lose 1,000.00 in paint, I tell him you're loosing way more than $1,000.00, now I'm not going to buy that paint, the rest of the ceiling paint $1,000.00 , and the 45 gallons of wall paint $2,700.00, Not once did he apologize for his unprofessional girl at the paint counter, a simple "hey I'm sorry you had to deal with her, please come in let's figure out how we can take care of you, let keep doing business together and move forward", nothing like that at all, he hung up on me and that was that. I went to Home Depot before here. Home Depot employees both took a long time to help, and had very little go offer in terms of help. After that disappointment, I was recommended to visit Ganahl. After the visit to Home Depot I was a little skeptical this place would be any better, but decided to stop by in the morning before class. I was pleasantly surprised. In total I was in there for about 20 minutes. Mark listened to me detail what I was looking for, and why, and gave me some great alternatives and advice for my project. Recently while shopping for lumber for a project with my partner I was out in the lumber yard with my partner. We were looking at wood and as we were about an aisle over, we heard someone a man dropping f bombs left and right and complaining about how he had to pick up all the slack there and on one was helping him. The final straw for myself was when he loudly said "Fing F***Ets and then cussed some more. At that point I was upset because I identify as part of the community along with a lot of my friends and family. I was unable to get his name right away other than he was chatting up with some other customers. I mainly am writing this because you never know who is around the corner or what people might be around. I was a bit distracted because my partner was very upset and ready to leave. I convinced them to finish up our purchase. While we were walking out I overheard this man talking about golf and how much he enjoys it. I asked another employee who didn't get their name, but they informed me that his name was Mark. There is a time and a place for colorful language but not in a workplace. Other reviews have said he seemed very unprofessional and interested in helping people. There should be some training on how to work with customers and what conversations shouldn't be had in public but that is common sense. We are not looking for anything beyond putting out word out there and letting Ganahl Lumber know that maybe there needs to be more job coaching with this employee because eventually he is going to cause problems read more

Speed, quality or price? Pick any two? The only place that has all three is In & Out! Ganahl lumber is the perfect balance of all three. Their quality and Service are unmatched, their prices are really competitive and speed is better because of the super convent lumber yard and a best in the business selection's. Super friendly staff that aren't happy unless you are happy. When I go to Home Depot I begin to hate the color orange but I'm always happy to go to Ganahl, from the air conditioned store to the helpful staff. No idea how this place gets such low ratings. Unlike the big box stores the staff here doesn't play hide n seek with you. They acknowledge you and help you if you need it. From paint recommendations to working with specific woods the staff is always helpful and very knowledgeable. Picking up wood? Buy what you want then drive into their warehouse where you'll be helped by a well-staffed lumber team that will cut the wood and even help you load it into your vehicle. Unlike the big box stores the staff will actually cut the wood with near perfect accuracy. I once picked up 3 sheets of 4x5 Baltic birch plywood and needed the plywood to be as close to 2x5 for my project and to fit into my SUV and the person who helped me had it within 2/32 of an inch in accuracy. This is one of those places I'm willing to spend more to avoid the big box stores but funny enough S4S lumber is cheaper here than at the big box stores where your lumber is almost certainly always cupping or twisted and rarely S4S. I have been working with Ganahl lumber for many years and had so many problems with their product and not standing behind it. the regional manager Brandon Ray always trys not to do the right thing by making sure the clients taken care of and make things right. Brandon has informed me that Ganahl lumber make him pay for these cost out of his own pocket which I dont care who pays for it just make it right. issues I have experienced see below interior door order wrong on 4/6 occasions framing lumber damaged DelIberia done with out telling us. over charging our account Jeld Wen door damage from the get go. Interior doors damaged from Tru style 3 times Windsor one molding came damaged and not sanded and after they cut it they didn't sand it. Brandon ray should be fired from his job as he has no knowledge of the product, the team he hires is horrible and the tuen over is all the time. the only person who is great there is Any Hetzler. don't go to Ganahl lumber read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I was looking for a particular design baseboard so I walked in looking for someone to help me and after finding an individual he told me that I needed to go to the other end of the store and I will find them there. He didn't seem to want to go there to help me find it so I figured he might be busy then I headed there myself. There was a counter at that end and there were a few people gathered around talking and laughing and nobody acknowledged my existence. I finally grabbed the attention of one guy and showed him the sample of the baseboard that I was looking for and he didn't seem very happy that I interrupted their little gathering and barley respond to me without looking up and said they are back there pointing to his left. I went there and found a big huge wall with probably hundreds of baseboard designs up on the wall all the way to the ceiling. It took me a good 20 minutes to finally find the design I was looking for and even then I was not one hundred percent sure that i've got the right design. After matching the number of the baseboard that you were looking for there were samples that were underneath and you could take them to the counter to order the ones you want. I took the sample to the same guy and I asked him if this is the correct baseboard that I chose. Again, he briefly looked at the choice I picked did not lift his head looked down and mentioned "close enough". This was his response close enough, which is absolutely ridiculous. I told him how much of the material I wanted he started typing stuff into his computer again without looking up and with no interest whatsoever that wanting to help me and Said, how are you paying? I mentioned that I will be paying with a credit card. He moved to a different computer and said insert your credit card. This is when I got very upset and I told him his customer care is very very, very poor and now I am, not surprised why their store has such poor reviews. I mentioned to him that I have no experience in this field and I needed his help. He never moved from his chair to help me after 20 minutes when I came back with the sample he still wouldn't help me and he seemed like he didn't even care this is when he started and saying oh I care in a very condescending manner. He ran my credit card gave me a piece of paper and I asked him. What do I need to do with this he mentioned that I need to go to their warehouse and pick it up. I would never ever ever ever support such businesses that treat people the way this guy did. I will never be back at this store even if it is the last store that would carry the item I'm looking for. I have been working with Randy for the last few months on getting my stacking slider doors ordered. I had to wait for my contractor to cut the rough opening, so I was delayed about 2 months to finalize the order, but Randy still honored my pricing and was such a gem to work with. She placed the wrong order for us for a very expensive folding exterior door. Our door was supposed to be hinged on the opposite side than what was delivered. We reiterated we wanted the door to open and close to the right when standing inside our home multiple times during our 2 hour+ meeting and she put the order as opening to the right when standing outside and had our contractor sign documents that everything is correct and make payment. After our installers came out and we realized the issue we called and talked to Flora that transfers us to the manager Vince who tells us that whatever is in writing is what matters and we are lucky our other two orders came out correctly (since all of our descriptions with Flora were from doors and windows opening inside the home). Ultimately blaming our contractor and us for not reviewing the documentation instead of accepting responsibility for the error on their side. Stated that the documents always show from outside looking in, but the document images were never reviewed with us before we confirmed the order. Vince explains there is tiny print that notes "images from outside." I'm a health care professional and read charts all day, so I am used to assessing important documentation, but these documents are not easy to decipher without someone properly explaining them to you and Flora did not do that. That is a failure in communication. Unfortunately instead of working with us towards a feasible resolution Vince kept referring to their legal documents, demonstrating the kind of customer service you will get after your purchase is complete. We didn't read the reviews on yelp before making this expensive purchase, blindly trusting Ganahl lumber to be the best place for sliding and folding doors because of the size of the company. Just avoid at all costs. You will have regrets. Best to work with reps directly from the manufacturer not Ganahl per our installers who noted this is not the first time they've had this experience. So far our resolution per Ganahl is to pay several thousands for a brand new folding door on our dime with a 10% discount. I came to Ganahl Lumber to get some information for a deck project I am working on. I stepped to the lumber counter and spoke to a Rick Dwelly, specifically asking about prices of deck boards so I can make an informed decision. Not only was Rick completely unhelpful, but his attitude was toxic. He offered zero options or ideas, told me he can't help me until I pick the board I want, and then talked down to me for coming in thinking they have a list of prices available for the customer. How dumb of me to think that Ganahl lumber would have deckboard prices available for customers! I'm not sure if Rick was having a bad day, or Ganahl lumber just doesn't care about projects that are only a few thousand dollars. To whom it may concern: I am a DIY and Ganahl lumber is my go to Hardware store. As we all know when we do our own projects, frustration is part of the formula. At Ganahl lumber they decrease the frustration by being very helpful with not only finding what you need but also with expert advice. Occasions, I've gone in frustrated looking for a specific nut or bolt and literally they guide me to the spot and pick it out for me. In the paint section is Simon who is an absolute genius When it comes to paint as well as repairing concrete. Many times I've gone in Thinking I had to project well thought out, and Simon has steered me in the right direction. On one occasion (good product but poor customer service), he literally called the company up and persisted in getting me the tools I needed i,at one point, I had to tell Simon to stop banging his head on the wall and forget about the project-product,but two weeks later he comes back and says come and pick it up. He had fought with the company to get me what I needed.The man is a pit bull when he sinks his teeth in he won't let go until your project is finished.In summary the place is Heaven sent!
