This used to be one of my families favorite restaurants in Springfield. We could always rely on great food and great service. Well things have changed. We walked in today and they no longer have a hostess station where you are greeted and seated. Now they have QR codes at each table to order. You seat yourself, you get your own water at their water station, you order yourself and you are out of luck if you have any questions about the menu. The menu is smaller so we struggled finding something we wanted to eat. I guess the good news is that since you are doing everything yourself you don't need to tip 20%. We really didn't feel moved to leave a tip at all but ended up tipping like we would on drinks or coffee or counter service places. So disappointed to take this one off my list. Maybe the young people like it this way but I personally love having a server to talk to and for the prices they charge on the menu that service should be provided. read more

I used to get the veggie curry which was delicious, but it is gone. No vegan options anymore. My daughter ordered the Mac and cheese that she used to absolutely love. Order traditional breakfast favorites your way or have one of the SBC "hearty" specialties. Or have their regular food menu (including EXCELLENT Mac-n-Cheese!), salads, burgers and more. Overall i'd rate a solid 4.0 for an enjoyable experience, friendly and attentive staff service, and meals that satisfied the craving! Expect entrees ~$10-15pp plus drinks. Favorites today were the Breakfast Burrito, Brewer's Breakfast Cure and the SBC Mac-n-Cheese with Buffalo Chicken! Burrito was stuffed with Chorizo, bacon, eggs, cheese in grilled tortilla served with cheesy queso sauce, great flavors and plenty filling yum! Breakfast Cure had grilled potatoes, homemade biscuit covered with chunky Sausage gravy, then sunny side (I ordered over EZ) egg with crisp bacon atop the bowl - got my calories in for the day! Finally, the Mac-n-Cheese bowl (large) was enough for two in my opinion, and so worth it! Add a "meat" side option (extra) and it's a food bomb! Don't miss this one if you're a Mac-fan! Their menu very lengthy, we wanted to try so many things! The ambiance is great and very spacious. The bar in the middle of the building just brings everything together. We came here kind of late and were able to order food right before the kitchen closed. We started off with 2 beers: Carrot Gold for me and a Raspeberry Blackberry squeeze for my husband. We were very hungry so we started off with smokehouse nachos with pulled pork on the side. They were very filling and came with pulled pork, pickled jalapeños, fried onion straws, cilantro lime sour cream, cellar bbq sauce and queso over fried tortilla chips. We also ordered burgers: Brewhouse burger with veggie Pattie and a regular Brewhouse burger. They both came on a pretzel bun and a side of fries. Everything tasted absolutely wonderful and flavorful that our plates were sparkling clean by the time we were done. Their service was fast, the staff friendly and attentive. The brewery location is great offering different types of seating arrangements based on different group sizes. It is centrally located so we were able to walk back from our hotel. We went as a group 10, and they were made aware we were coming. We were seated immediately, and our drink and food orders were taken within a reasonable time. After 45 minutes of waiting we inquired as to when the food might be ready. We were told it was on the way. After another 30 minutes we inquired and was told the food was imminent. After another 20 minutes they brought half of the food, with two of the entrees wrong. The balance of the food came 15 minutes later. I asked the server to send a manager to the table. The manager was completely unaware of our situation, which seemed rather odd. I explained the situation to him, and instead of recognizing there was an issue he proceeded to tell me it was a software problem. A software issue was never mentioned by the server. The manager never apologized, and seemed irritated that I would ask to speak to him. It was a terrible evening, only to be further invalidated by the manager which means we will never return. Stopped in for lunch and ordered an SBCobb salad with grilled chicken. When the salad arrived, we noticed the chicken was still pink, so we immediately sent it back. Mistakes happen, so we didn't want it to ruin the meal. We then shared some fries and a sandwich, but noticed the sandwich tasted off. Upon checking, we found the bread was completely black and burnt. Deciding to move on, we figured we'd just eat the fries, but then we found bugs in them. 3.5 to 4 stars. Second time coming here in 6 years and the food was a lot better. The flavors were great. My parents loved the beer flights- they said it was one of the best selections they have seen. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with that. The food took over 40 minutes to get and they forgot a few things on our order so that took a little longer to get. Our waitress did disappear for a little bit so we asked one of the girls up front and she was rude about having to help us when we asked for some condiments, but we can't control her attitude. Server was very sweet, but got our order completely wrong, but worked hard to correct it. Spinach dip came out cold, had to request to warm up. We went after my son's graduation. They were extremely busy and gave us a long wait time estimate. We understood that and decided to wait. About half way through the wait time a lot of the crowd had been served and left and we were the only ones waiting. When asked about an updated wait time it was still the original wait. They said they didn't have a table to accommodate us (party if 6)even tho there were multiple empty tables on the patio they could have easily moved together had they been interested in seating us. My hubby and I have been to this Brewery several times. The food is always great, price is decent and the atmosphere is always nice and laid back. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 out of 5 is due to the slow or limited knowledge of the service staff. My husband had the Bayou Chicken and he always really likes the extra spice the dish has. I had the cod tacos with veggies substituted as a side. Everything was super delicious and cooked to perfection! All in all we keep coming back for the food, price and atmosphere. First visit and we will be back! My daughter had a big pizza from the kids menu. Both, me and my husband found ourselves eating from it! I would order a large to go, if they had it! We tried the Szechuan wings on a limb and were very impressed. I could have eaten it as a main course. They were crispy and the sauce was addictive. I had the Cobb salad with shrimp, portion size was huge and just enough. I think I had about 4-5 large shrimp on top. I appreciated that the blue cheese was on the side, so that I could choose how much or how little I wanted. My husband had the chicken tenders. They were delicious! We had a party of 7 visit this establishment on a Saturday evening. A few minutes after being seated our waitress walked away from us in mid-sentence while we were telling her we were ready to order. A table next to us was seated about 30 minutes after snd the waitress was very attentive to them and they received their order long before we did. They were a group of about 10. After 2 hrs we did finally get our food but during this time the waitress never once asked how we were going or anything. Our food came out Luke warm at best. The chicken tenders (pictured) were crunchy, flat, and dry. The grilled cheese was Luke warm and the cheese had time to harden before being brought to our table. We won't discuss the attitude the manager gave us either. I don't generally leave reviews but this one definitely deserved a review. read more

It was our first time in Springfield, Missouri and our friends showed us some local hospitality by taking us to the large Brewing Company for late night dinner. Who would have thought that a seemingly mainstream spot would end up being so good? First off, this spot is huge. There is a large dining area on both floors and an outdoor patio that features live music. We came on a Sunday evening and were gifted with some great live music and folks dancing and having a great time. Although we had to wait a bit for our server to come greet us in the patio, we nonetheless enjoyed the ambience. Between the few of us, we split some appetizers (21:00 and after is limited to appetizers/pizza) including their Dozen Buffalo Wings ($11) and their BBQ Pork Pie Pizza ($13). The wings were on fire- having been dressed deliciously with tangy and semi-spicy buffalo sauce. Dip them in ranch and you are all set! The BBQ Pork Pie Pizza we ordered was amazing as well. It tasted like grilled meat charred onto a crusty cheese pizza. Both orders were humongous and we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Top that with great atmosphere and company and you've got yourselves a good time. If I come back to Springfield in the future, I'd drop on by to try some of their local beers. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere! My husband and I ordered a beer flight of 6 and let our waiter pick out a variety of the their best beer on tap. It did not disappoint and we enjoyed all 6 of them. Surprisingly, we really liked the strawberry tarte sour! Definitely try it if you get the chance. Some of the food we ordered was not as appetizing as expected. My husband's burger was extremely fatty (double patty, bacon, & beer cheese sauce) and rather bland. It did not come with mustard or pickles to help cut the fat. Suppose he could have asked for those, but it was just weird they were not included. My pulled pork sandwich was good, but a majority of the meat on it was a tough fatty end that was inedible. The fries were nice and crispy and the hot wings were great.
