Ordered a lemon drop martini. They must've put soda water or sprite in it. I can't have carbonation of any kind because of stomach issues. Within an hour of drinking my martini, I was doubled over in incredible pain feeling like my stomach was going to explode from carbonation! It ruined my night. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. When we walked in though, we couldn't sit on one side of the bar because there was a woman on the floor scrubbing the baseboard of the bar. Disappointed. Went there last night for St Patrick's Day. Waited 10 minutes by the door while there were numerous empty tables. Finally asked if we could seat ourselves by the bar. Customer next to us asked for a Shepards Pie and they said they could not do that as their oven was not operable. Then, the breaker in the other room went out and there was no power in two room of the restaurant. They were also playing rock music. Not what I expected for an Irish Pub on St Patrick's Day. Disappointing, I ordered food for delivery. The fried cheese curds were hard not melty. The Deluxe burger with thousand island dressing was lukewarm, dry and bland, with an unpleasant after taste, the fish whaler sandwich was unimpressive and bland tasting but edible. Lastly, the French fries cold, thin sliced bland, unappealing. Overall a sad overpriced experience. I now wish I had ordered from Mickey D's at less than half the cost of this unappetizing fiasco. The Service was great! Madeleine "Maddie" was our Server and she was PHENOMENAL! Her recommendation for the Guinness and Chocolate was quite tasty. Also, she brought us samples of the Frozen Rose' and Frozen Irish Coffee. Both were yummy, but ended our evening with the Frozen Irish Coffee. There are so many items on the menu we want to try, so I know we will be frequently going here. Tonight, we pretty much had appetizers for dinner. I've eaten a number of times at Dublin Pass, and had OK experiences. But my experience there today causes me to resolve that I will never go back. That's a shame, since it is owned by a good operator. Unfortunately, the people he has running Dublin's Pass don't know anything about customer service. Today I went there for lunch. I walked in at 12:30 and the place is about half full. The person at the checkstand tried this year me toward the bar. No thank you I don't want to sit at the bar. Then he tried to get me to sit at a high top table in the bar. No, thank you. I don't want to sit at a high top. "I'll just take a booth, please." He replied " We save the booths for larger parties, so I can't see you there." Really? There are multiple booths open and I'm the only one waiting for a seat, and you can't allow me to sit where I am most comfortable? The young fellow just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. That's terrible customer service, not what I'm used to when I go to Metropolitan Grill, Pat's other restaurant. In this day and age, I would think they would be thrilled to have a customer. But, apparently not. If you get the chance, go somewhere else and give Dublin's Pass a pass. Sorry Pat. read more

This is very much a university area, LOTS of kids around, many just driving through the downtown streets. We ate outside on a nice, cool, early October evening. There's live music inside but they don't pipe it outside which is too bad. We had attentive wait staff who checked on us frequently. We both ordered draft Guinness, mine being the chocolate version. I learned that i don't especially like it so it's regular Guinness from now on. I ordered the Scratch Pub Pie with chicken, mashed potatoes toted with a scrumptious flaky crust. SO good! The only reason this place is getting more than 1 star is because of the bartender Emily. This was our first time here ever, JOSIE greeted us rudely from the first interaction, I asked for a drink menu she pointed to the barcode stand on the bar. I was looking for the drink menu but couldn't quite find it so I asked if there wasn't a drink menu online. She looks at me like I'm stupid, points back at the stand and says "no it's on there" like obviously I can't find it? We ask for the bathroom, she points rudely in the wrong direction. EMILY, pointed us to the right direction and asked if we needed anything, made our drinks and answered our questions with a smile and she was the only NICE thing about this place. Josie lurked around with a sour puss facial expressions seemingly rolling her eyes at us and I can't figure out why. It bothered me so much I came to write a review. I'm a server and a bartender and I work two jobs and I never get to go out so when I do I don't appreciate being treated like s*** by someone I wasn't rude to and was simply looking for some guidance as I've never been here before. We've been to the newly opened location on Battlefield Road twice since they opened. Both times we were treated well and the food was delicious. I recommend the Culcannon! The decor is what you might expect from a pub. The booths are comfortable and there are giant TVs everywhere. If I had one complaint, it would be the noise level. Dublins Pass is a great restaurant. I haven't spent much time here during bar hours but have eaten here several times for lunch. My favorite items are the cottage pie or the chicken pub pie. Both are so good and hearty and perfect for winter days. Their Guinness cheese dip/sauce is delicious too. Service is always good here. I wish I could give 5 stars, but the sole reason I haven't is because the fried fish is awful. It's fried triangles of frozen fish. Everything else on the menu is absolutely fantastic but the fish is just not good. read more
