I've been here twice in Durango. The rooms were great as was the breakfast. Management keeps the place consistent.

We booked ahead on the Marriott site and noted that we would have our two small dogs with us. They do charge $55/dog. They put us on the 1st floor, just down the hall from a side door which was convenient for walking the pups at night. The room itself was on the smaller side, it had two queen beds. It was clean and had plenty of towels. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. We all liked the breakfast, there was a variety of hot and cold items. There was plenty of parking in the lot. The drive to the hotel was tricky and required GPS. It is easy to get out of the lot and back to town, but more difficult to get there. read more

The shining star of this place was the wonderful staff - so friendly and accommodating. They took the time to read my requests as a Bonvoy member and did their best to meet them, which is something because many places we've stay it's overtly obvious they pay zero attention to them, despite having Elite status. They even called up to the room once we checked in and settled a bit to make sure everything was ok. It's the little things, you know? Location was fairly convenient with easy access to many main-stream commercial establishments (by car) and about a 5 minute drive to downtown. Downside is the bed is a bit firm and the pillows were horrible. Also, set the fan to low at night, otherwise, if you leave it on Auto, it gets stuffy and warm, and you'll know when the AC kicks on. Stayed here on a work trip and it was an ok hotel but not my favorite. The wifi is terrible, had constant connection issues. I was out on the first floor and unfortunately the carpet smelled of pet urine. I'm a dog lover but and have felt with plenty of pet urine in my day, but it the smell did bother me after a few days in a row. Breakfast is included and is adequate but nothing elaborate. The couches in the room were quite comfy, and there is a small fridge and a microwave. It's affordable which is nice, but next time I would likely pay a bit more to stay elsewhere. read more

Friendly service and thorough check in. Very accommodating. Dog friendly and all the staff was welcoming and even greeted the dog and played with him. Nice room. Tv placement was good for both bedroom area and couch area due to the arm and tilt feature. Bathroom is long and spacious. Desk area for business, small fridge, small microwave and a walk in closet. Location is on the east side of town away from main things. Long walk or short ride to those attractions. The breakfast was delish. Plenty of options - cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, miltiple fruits, bagels, biscuits, english muffins, bacon, eggs, sausage, sliced ham, sliced cheese (to make breakfast sandwiches). Also had an omelette bar. Coffee, tea, milk and juices. Plenty of outlets in room and internet worked fine and charging of devices was normal. read more

Our stay of a week was quite nice. All the staff were quite efficient and friendly. Rooms are well designed with a nice sitting area, a spacious bathroom and closet. Lots of convenient places to charge electronics. Close to Durango and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown yet easy to get to all attractions/restaurants in town and other areas such as Purgatory Resort, Mesa Verde and the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center & Museum, a designated national monument. Breakfast each morning was delicious with many offerings. A big shout out to all the workers attending and working the breakfast service especially Rene. She was great with always a welcoming smile and conversation. Thank you for making us feel very much at home at "our" outdoor patio table on the cooler mornings and your jokingly saying you'd save each day for us. After much searching, my family and I decided to stay at the springhill. We needed a place that had three beds (pretty hard to find so it turns out). Our room was huge! It had two queen beds and a trundle bed couch. I definitely prefer the trundle bed set up to any place that has a pull out couch, it's just way more comfortable and doesn't have those awful bars in the middle of the mattress. The room seemed clean and they had coffee in the lobby. It was overall a nice stay. read more

This was my first time at this hotel brand. Nice location, just minutes away from town. This hotel is following covid guidelines. Staff wears masks. Hand sanitizing stations are placed in public areas. Breakfast service has been modified too. You tell a start member what you want and they get it for you. No hot prepared food available, but you can get a breakfast sandwich and microwave it in your room. We had a pleasant stay here. The rooms were modern and clean. The beds were very comfortable. I really liked the feel of the soft fluffy comforter. Had a great nights sleep. The rooms were spacious and had a mini refrigerator and microwave. Only comment is that the air/heat unit is a bit loud. In the future, I would definitely consider staying at a Springhill suites . read more

If you like to be off the grid, this place is for you. Or you are better off renting an RV since there is little to NO internet service in the rooms. And to make things worse, the outlets are "efficiency outlets" and will not charge your laptops, phones, or ipads. I am in town for work, and could not use the internet nor charge my devices. I was extremely upset and WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! A hotel should at bare minimum provide internet and working outlets. I should've stayed at the Comfort Inn across the street for much less and better service. read more

This was our 3rd and final hotel stay in the Durango area. I completely disagree with the other reviews. This was my favorite hotel we stayed at. It was clean, no weird odors in hallways or room, room was very clean, fairly priced... it was modern and functional. The bathroom was super nice! The shower was clean with strong water pressure and long lasting hot water. The linens were soft and clean. Keurig with k-cups available in room. There was a bit of road noise being off the highway, but that's not the hotels fault. I have 2 critiques: 1) Placing garbage bags in the garbage cans. I think that's more hygienic... isn't it? I felt weird just throwing trash in the bins with no liner or anything. Differentiating the garbage and recycling was a nice touch, though! 2) One of the elevators (furthest from the lobby) was a bit sketchy. Bad brakes maybe? It scared us each time we used it! I would recommend this hotel. read more

I enjoy staying at Spring Hill suites because of the spacious rooms, amenities, and value/price. We got a 2 queen bed room with a sofa bed. Parking was free, pool was open by reservation during COVID (hot tub was closed though...), and breakfast was still available (modified during to COVID). My only complaint about this hotel was the shower temperature water and pressure as it took a long time for the water to heat up and the water was pretty weak when it came out of the shower head. Breakfast items were granola bar, cereal, yogurt, coffee, breakfast sandwiches that can be heated up in room, and milk/juice. Staff was friendly and prompt. The hotel was pretty empty when I visited on a weekend Saturday night in February. Overall I wouldn't mind staying here again. I definitely enjoyed my stay read more

I bounced around quite a bit while I was in Durango. This was my first stop. Unfortunately the hotel was very loud, I heard a guy in an argument upstairs. I didn't like the shower pressure, towels were not soft, coffee wasn't very good. They have a pretty good breakfast although I didn't eat it because I went to upper east side cafe deli instead. Probably not the worst hotel to be in just not my style. read more

3 generations of my family met in Durango for a long weekend of family time and we stayed at Springhill Suites. Every staff interaction we had was great. Maddisen, Erika, David, Tianna, Missy.... all greeted us with a smile and great attitude no matter how often the 17 of us trekked in and out or how often we needed new keys, more towles, or directions. The rooms were great, with plenty of room for everyone and everything. Being able to take a short walk to the river and walk across the bridge was a great way to end the day. The hotel staff was also able to answer our questions about different attraction and the information they gave us what accurate and clear every time. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. read more

The hotel is new, so any imagined cleanliness comes from having new stuff. But! The rooms smell musty. The breakfast area is filthy, and the breakfast itself is awful! The bagels are so old I could bang them on the counter like a rock. The coffee is bad. The trash is overflowing. I had to pull plates and forks out from the cabinet myself. Spring Hill definitely has the worst breakfast our family has experienced and we travel a lot. Wet eggs, cold sausage and toast basically. They were out of plates, napkins, and bread so not even toast. We just left and got breakfast elsewhere. read more

Stayed at this place this weekend. Terrible CS, Rude owners when I called to report the incident, only saving grace was the nice counter girl when we checked in. Stay somewhere else. Cars were being looted by a man wearing a black beanie. No security and no one cared at all, especially the Owners in Albuquerque. They decided to charge us a extra fee of $250 for clean up. We are Ambassador Elite with Marriott. We stay at a lot of their hotels. This is by far the worst hotel we've stayed at. For starters, when we were making a reservation we picked a Mountain View room. There is no Mountain View rooms! There are hills not mountains. Our view was mainly the building we were staying in and a little bit of a hill view. I asked the front desk about it. They said Marriott doesn't allow refunds to people who want money back because there's no views. Omg! Couldn't believe it! I wasn't asking about a refund. They must get a lot of complaints because they are deceptive. Talk about bait and switch. We stayed two nights. We had a slow drain in the sink in the bathroom. Asked them to fix it. They didn't. Stay away from this hotel. Very deceptive! read more

We are very disappointed to stay this Marriott hotel. We expected Marriot quality and services from this hotel; however, the hotel was the lowest quality and services. Toilet paper holder was broken but no other rooms available per front desk. They told us to give discount to stay at the same room. We noticed the followings after we came back from dinner. Bathroom slide door nob was broken. There were water left in ice box. Previous guest room card holder was left on room desk. No cups in the room at all. The room floor was dirty and many things on carpet. It looks like not vacuumed nor cleaned. Plus it does not look like vacuumed nor cleaned in corridor and elevator inside. Breakfast food and services were terrible. My wife complained front desk again with the photos and then we were able to change to another room. Last of all, we were charged total $ 452.34 instead of $ 439.40 by Hotel.com reserved total amount. We stayed other hotels in this trip charged exact total amount by Hotel.com reserved total amount. Front desk was not able to explain the difference at all. The manager did not contact us for the explanation. Hotel.com should not list this hotel. We experienced terrible time. Marriot management should change the operation immediately. We will not stay any other Marriot hotels if this is Marriot standard. We demand the refund of the difference and credit for inconveniences by room change. read more

This is a brand new hotel and is gorgeous. The rooms are well laid out, spacious, and beautiful. The location is next to the walking trail along the Animas River. The problem is the staff and the amenities. When we arrived, even though there is a sign on the door that says everyone must wear a mask inside in the building, the lady at the desk was not wearing one. My wife asked about the breakfast due to our son's allergy. The lady told my wife that the breakfast was terrible so don't even bother. Our room had no hand soap. When we inquired at the desk, we were told they have no hand soap in the entire hotel. The housekeeping staff member that was asked was also not wearing a mask. The breakfast was terrible. It was muffins. When another guest requested a yogurt that was plainly visible in the cooler behind the staff member, they were told they could not give those out. This hotel is so new that it it not even on Yelp yet...so hiccups are understandable. However, at every turn it appeared to us that no one cared that hiccup was occurring or how it was effecting the people paying to stay here. Hopefully it improves, but our stay was not worth the money. read more

My 13 y/o son, two dogs and myself were kicked out of the hotel at 937pm tonite. Why? Actually I don't really know for certain. The front desk staff told me the "owner wants you to leave." Apparently because I complained about multiple issues such as a dirty mattress with hair, stains and debris and a DEAD BUG, and dried snot on the phone. Oh and the internet wasn't working in the room, the clock was set one hour ahead which confused us after our 9 hour drive from Arizona and the microwave wasn't working and the front desk staff did not know how to work it. I was polite, expressed disappointment and requested to change rooms the next day since we were already settled, I asked for a rag to clean the phone, and a refund of the dog fees as a courtesy for all the drama. We called the Marriott Residence Inn (where I actually had reservations but cancelled because Springhill Suites was cheaper and I figured we would eat out more) and asked if there were any rooms because we were being kicked out. I guess I shouldn't have said that because the night desk guy said he had to call Springhill to see what happened. So I call back after he talked to Aria and he said even though i was given the "green light" (meaning I was not belligerent) I could not stay there because I was arguing with him and "this hotel is considerably more expensive you would be more comfortable at the Fairfield Inn." When I asked his name he said he would not give it to me and then hung up on me. It is interesting because my son and I have stayed at the Residence Inn multiple times in the Spring and wrote stellar reviews -- the staff was great. Moreover I have/had 3 trips planned and booked at the Residence Inn at $174 a night...... Its interesting because in all my years of traveling (over 30) in multiple countries and states I have never been kicked out of a hotel for politely asking to change rooms due to dead bugs and bodily fluids stuck to a phone. I am a medical provider in a large family practice in Phoenix. If we kicked out every patient that complained about something we would not have any patients. In fact -- that's why we have 'customer service'. I don't recommend any marriot properties especially the Springhill Suites -- unless of course you don't mind sleeping in a dirty room with dead bugs. ps it turns out my son taped the checking out interaction with Aria at the front desk and even she was astonished we were being kicked out considering "you were very polite...I don't understand it either." read more

Super great experience! Anna Ray at the front desk went the extra mile to help accommodate our stay when my wife came to Durango to give birth. I was in a situation where I could not dedicate time to adjusting my reservation from a 3rd party and she took the initiative to get me lined out. Very clean rooms! Includes an extra pull out bed and the TV doesn't take over your whole room but it allows for a unique Desk/lounge area. Breakfast is very strong and the group very accommodating. Love the free bottle water for the people. Expected a bit of a better pool area for this type of hotel. But other than that... probably the best experience I've had in Durango. read more

This hotel was extremely clean and bright. Covid restrictions were strictly adhered to. Front office night and day staff (Josh and Sarah) were very courteous and friendly. This hotel is a very good. value for the money. The only negative comment I have is that the toilet paper should be of higher quality. Other than that I have no complaints. I don't know why this hotel has poor reviews. It is a beautiful, new hotel--my teenage daughter says it's the nicest hotel she's stayed in in the US! They are totally following COVID guidelines. We switched over from the La Quinta which was swimming with dogs and people not wearing masks. The beds & pillows are super comfortable AND they let us check in early!! read more
