I believe from past reviews this place must have been updated. My room had two queen size needs, a hard couch, desk, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The beds were super comfortable. The breakfast in the am was decent with hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fruit, oatmeal, juices, coffee, and more. There is an airport shuttle that runs every 30 mins. Be sure to sign up in advance. The cons is the noise I could hear outside of people talking and laughing below while I was trying to sleep. read more

Pubic hair in the bed, pee on the sheets, long black women's hair in the bed! Obviously the bed sheets, blanket was NEVER CHANGED FROM THE PREVIOUS GUEST! DEAD COCKROACH, Pee on the toilet, dirty shower with dirty footprints....THIS ROOM WAS FILTHY! I checked in after 10:00 PM, they couldn't move me to another room... not enough employees on staff. ONLY ONE STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK! DO NOT STAY HERE! IT WAS DISGUSTING! THE VENTS WERE CLOGGED WITH DUST, DIRT, AND FILTH. I had to sleep on the top of the bed in my clothes without a blanket or sheet because it was so filthy! Manager was too busy to talk to me. So, I did get her email and posted pics... Easy hotel to stay at if you are looking for something close to the airport, the breakfast bar was nice. It was a clean room and lobby restrooms overall satisfied. I needed a room overnight in Phoenix. I was attending a play with friends at the Phoenix Theatre. I used a room award to stay. The room was clean and well appointed. Staff was very friendly yet professional. The breakfast was the best of all the Marriott line I had stayed at in the past couple of years. Lots of options, food was refilled constantly. We had a double queen suite for myself and a friend. My only complaint was a tiny sink area, a sink and little counter space. Hard to share with two women. read more

This hotel is located close to the airport so it was only a few minutes away and a cheap Lyft ride to get there. The check-in person was friendly and it was quick and easy to check in. Rooms were big and offered alot for the price. I loved that it had a refrigerator, microwave a desk and a sofa! Room was clean and very comfortable. They offer complimentary breakfast which I did eat and it was your typical continental breakfast. Food was good. I definitely recommend this place and I'd stay here again. read more

Convenient location not too far from the airport, which makes this hotel a practical choice if you have an early flight or short stay. You do hear planes passing occasionally, but it's not disruptive -- after all, this is an airport-area hotel and noise didn't affect sleep. There's also a very nice walking path along the river nearby, which is a great bonus. That said, several details need improvement. The pool gate was unlocked, and the pool area itself wasn't well maintained -- tables were sandy and wobbly. The room had some cleanliness issues as well: stains on the bedside table and hair left in the shower, which gave the impression it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. The shower setup is also a bit inconvenient, as you have to step in and get wet before adjusting the water temperature. There are no restaurants or food options in the immediate area, so you'll have to order food online if you don't have a car. Breakfast was decent, and I appreciated the free hot beverages available by reception, though unfortunately the hot water for tea was only lukewarm. The bed was extremely thin and uncomfortable. When I sat down, it felt like I was sitting directly on the board underneath. The room also had a slight mildew smell, and the popcorn ceilings made the hotel feel very outdated. Overall, this SpringHill Suites feels neglected and is in serious need of a remodel. For a Marriott property, I expected the room to feel cleaner, fresher, and more comfortable. read more

SpringHill Suites is typically my favorite hotel chain to stay at because everything is very modern, it is very spacious and comfortable, and the price point is very reasonable. Every SpringHill Suite looks the same and especially if you're looking to have a place to crash for the night and feel homey, this is it. This SpringHill Suite's room is as great as all the others but there was one thing that did not make my stay as great as it could be. The concierge was quite rude to us. We came early to see if we can check in a bit beforehand and they kind of ignored us and told us to sit down in a kind of rude way. They also didn't care that we were Platinum Mariott members, which hypothetically should call for a better room. Other than that, the stay was as good as any other SpringHill Suites is. I appreciate that it was literally 10 minutes to the airport and at proximity to a lot of nearby food and discovery areas in Phoenix. Definitely would come back but not down for the concierge. read more

Visited Phoenix/Tempe for the innings festival and lodged up here. Room was clean and hotel offers free shuttle service to the airport. The staff is nice (whoever the front desk woman was, she was a pleasure to associate with ). However the hotel has some weird stench to it. Not the room particularly but the hallways smelled funky for some reason. Similar to many other reviews/experiences. Had to hold my breath when stepping outside of the room. Of course I'm only here for sleep anyways so I wasn't in the room much. read more

Came to Phoenix from Orange County to purchase a truck for our son that lives in Durango. This hotel ended up being a pretty good location, though we had to drive about 25 minutes to the different dealerships. It looks very nice from the outside. Plenty of free parking, and a shuttle to the airport. Our check-in process was easy and the young woman was very pleasant.. We were on the 6th floor. The room was very spacious. Unfortunately, my wife found hair around the perimeter of the bathroom when she first entered. Otherwise, very clean. with two queens and a sofa bed. There was also a desk to the right once inside the door. The layout was nice. The bathroom was at the end of the beds, equidistant. Sink on the outside, enough counter space. Shower was large with doors instead of curtain, which I like. Water pressure was adequate. AC was great. It was quiet at night, and we both slept OK, but found the beds not so comfortable. Very few hotels have comfortable beds, IMO. There is a complimentary breakfast which is so common among many hotels these days, and it had all the usual fix-ins. I appreciated it. The desk clerk checking us out, Ingrid I believe her name was, did not ask us about our stay. My wife volunteered that we liked the room except for the hair in the bathroom. Ingrid, unsmiling the whole time, simply said words to the effect that she would let management know. No apology or empathy. Maybe she was having a bad morning. read more

We've not yet slept - but the room is amendable. Certainly not a fancy hotel, but comfortable enough after driving here to fly out tomorrow. The lobby lady was really helpful and efficient. The elevators; meh. The coffee bar near the elevator: 5 stars! Not only caf & decaf coffee - but many types of tea, flavored creams, and honey! The laundry room was super clean (although $2.50/load to both wash AND dry seems steep). A trash can would have been useful. Shower took a while to get hot - but boy-oh-boy did it get hot! We're in an end unit on the second floor, and early evening flights in & out of PHX are certainly audible - we're hoping we'll not hear them once we're asleep. read more

Stayed here for about a week for work. It was a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and there's plenty of room to keep your work and leisure separate. They have large flat screen TV's mounted which can flip to be visible while in bed, working at the desk, or in the couch. The HVAC system blows cold for those hot AZ nights. The breakfast is a hybrid between Marriott's old continental breakfast and their 2.0. But, many options are available every day and it was well stocked. The staff is friendly but not over accommodating. Very convenient location that's close to the airport. It's easy to get around but beware that roads in this area are constantly under construction. Far enough away from the university to be quiet and close enough to have plenty of options to eat within a 5 min drive. I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying again. read more

My experience with this place gets worse every time I stayed here. Last time there was no shower soap, this tume there was no shower soap either. I had two bottles of shampoo. The sunk in my room has no stopper. #1 it's gross to see the inside of the drain. #2 things might fall in there, and it did happened. My lotion cap fell in there and I couldn't get it out. I spoke with Ingrid at the front desk at around 7:30am and she said the maintenance guy is not in yet and she would have him take care of it. I came back from work at 6pm, nothing happened. I called the front desk and another lady picked up and told me there was no log of the issue and the maintenance guy had already left. She said she would send the driver. I left for dinner, came back at 8:30pm. The driver came in and retrieve d my cap and was surprised that there was no stopper for the sink. #3 I checked out today. Ingrid was at the counter. I received no acknowledgement, no eye contact, just silence. She just assumed I was checking out. Took my card. Told me I will get an email. Then back to whatever she was doing. II heard her greeting the next customer warmly. Is it because I am Asian therefore I don't deserve a courteous treatment? read more

Terrible...if you like the smell of sewers and the look of headboards falling apart, then this is the property for you!!! Front desk staff was ok, but management wasn't helpful at all... Maybe you like constantly changing rooms or running toilets....bottom line, this property is really bad. In the words of the General Manager "we are getting a remodel next summer and is long overdue". What hotel manager says this to a guest??? Oh yeah, they also accused me of carving the words "This hotel sucks" on the desk after I reported it...this seemed to be the only thing they actually cared about. I told them: A: it was not a carving...rather written on with a pen B: why would I ever manufacture this and then report it? C: I am a 50 year old business traveler, why would I ever do this??? Physically located at the end of the very busy PHX international airport runway. LOUD Plane noise ALL NIGHT! The single mattress is very thin at 5-7 inches or about the length of an iPhone. When I asked to speak with the manager about a room issue, I was told there wasn't a manager onsite and provided with an email address to resolve my issue. I am a loyal Marriott member with Titanium Elite status. This hotel is a comically bad joke way below Marriott brand standards. I won't be staying here again. read more

Had a decent stay at this SpringHill Suites for a couple of days visiting family. Got a great AAA rate of $79 on Saturday and Sunday, but it looked like rates shoot up during the week. Definitely need a car if you're staying here and plan to go anywhere in town, but that's standard for Phoenix. The bed was super comfortable and the room was a good size. I was especially pleased they had coffee 24/7 in the lobby, which a lot of hotels aren't doing right now "because of Covid." I believe they did a free breakfast as well, but I didn't make it down to see it. Was originally assigned a handicap accessible room when I checked in, and wasn't pleased I had to lug my stuff back downstairs to get a normal room like I had a booked, especially as a Bonvoy Gold member. They fixed it, but I don't know why the system assigned me the wrong room type in the first place. read more

We stayed in one of the suite just behind of ice machine coming out of the elevator. We didn't hear any noise behind our door, very good sound insulation. The suite was clean for a 3 stars hotel. Continental breakfast is here again with 24 hours coffee. Although the hotel is somewhat packed based on the parked cars on the parking lot, I seldom seen guests packed in the dining area for breakfast for 3 nights I stay. Although it is lovely dining room, buy I bought my breakfast to my room to enjoy. SpringHill Suites Phoenix Tempe/Airport is a good place if you like airplanes. The hotel is directly under the main approach for the busy Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport which makes it pretty convenient for travelers, although they are located in a business park area of Tempe requiring a bit of a journey to access restaurants and nightlife. The airplanes are not super annoying since the hotel has a good amount of soundproofing, but you will hear them zoom by quite often. I did not hear them at night which made sleeping better. The overall hotel is the standard issue with a nice pool and breakfast area. The rooms are good with a nice memory foam mattress and good water pressure. I am not a fan of Marriot's couches and tables which seem to be hard and awkward. This is a decent, but basic option in the area. The airplane noise was a bit too much for me, but I cannot find too much fault in the service and amenities in this price range. Free breakfast and shuttles are very nice and convenient, although its a bit weird to be in my gym shorts eating next to fully dressed business people heading off to conquer the world! read more

Horrible. Let me start by saying Cookie was the one very good thing about our visit. She was friendly and pleasant. But the ROOM - filthy, Clogged sink, burned-out light, the inside window with oily- smudged finger-prints, dirt on the mirror-frame, dirty elevator and desperately in need of a remodel. The "continental" breakfast was a Cisco-type waffle in a bag, a manufactured, hard burrito in a bag or an old muffin in a bag - inedible. P When I said something on my way out, I was told I should have complained earlier, so apparently it was MY fault. I paid about the same money - over $300 for one night - earlier in the week in San Diego at the Marquis overlooking the marina with a fantastic continental breakfast. DON'T waste your money. This hotel is very nice and next to all you need! Great easy access and safe. Fitness center is small but all new and has all you need. I want to give a special shout out to Cookie who was so nice to deal with! She is amazing at what she does and they are so lucky to have her! I would stay here again when I'm in the area. read more

One deduction for the noise due to the location by the airport, but other than that, this hotel was great. I got the King suite and it came with mini kitchenette, study table, a sofa, and of course King size bed. The price listed for $90/night, including tax, was also covered the free breakfast from 7-9am. The breakfast was pretty good too, it has waffles, scrambled eggs, bagels, fruits, oatmeal, cereals, orange juice, and yogurt. Pretty much it has many varieties, I like it. Customer service was also great, although there was only one lady at the front desk, she's very helpful to all guests. Parking was free, wifi was free, and breakfast was free, I'm a happy customer indeed. read more

I don't usually review hotels as I mostly travel for work and most hotels are pretty avg (usually stay at Marriott & Hilton brands). However, this place definitely exceeded my expectations in an unexpected way. I was placed in a room on the 4th floor RIGHT next to the elevator and pretty much directly across from the ice machine, which immediately drew my ire as I could only imagine the potential for a noisy stay. Add to it the window AC unit and I definitely was ready to request a new room. Yet after 2 (soon to be 3) nights I've gotta say the sound proofing is well above avg. I've not heard the ice machine at all, barely noticed the elevator running, and the AC unit is fairly efficient and quiet as well. Add to that the usual spacious nature of Springhill rooms, the convenience of a sink and fridge, the fast and free wifi, the complimentary bfast, and I'm sold that this is probably the best Springhill I've ever stayed at. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, they've got a fitness center bigger than your standard closet with free weights and a pretty nice machine, something that was rather unexpected but very much welcomed! read more

I'll try to keep this short. The only good thing about this place was the shuttle & the drivers! They were so helpful & kind. You have to call the hotel to make sure they pick you up & set up your drop off time & date in the front desk. I arrived at about 4pm a few days ago for business and my experience was not so good. I did not get the gentleman's name that was working the front desk. I had a few questions for him he was just so rude to me. Customer service is important wether you're on business or not. . . He was a smart ass to say the least. Way to welcome someone to Arizona. My room was pretty basic . . The toilet for some reason had little things floating in it ( I hadn't even used it or anything! No matter how many times I flushed the stuff away they kept coming back. THE SINK! ugh so gross. No one could take the extra time to scrub a little leftover nasty pieces of food , can't tell if someone barfed in there or brushed really hard who knows either way it was gross. TOWELS every single one had stains on them, I had to reorder some before showering and of course no one could bring it up so I had to go down and get them myself. Breakfast sucked I've had plenty of grab and go breakfast but this was horrible. It was very messy. Anyway blah. Won't be staying here again read more

This hotel is in need of a remodel. The breakfast was not acceptable ( bitter Orange colored liquid - NOT ORANGE JUICE - terrible tasting version of coffee ) I stopped there rather than trying the other " breakfast foods ". If you can't get those two right you probably can't get any breakfast foods right. Someone working for the hotel ( the hotel cleaning staff ? ) decided to keep my shirt which I had left on top of the desk directly in front of the entry door. When I called to ask them to retrieve it so that I could pay to have it shipped to me ( it has sentimental value ) the hotel staff said that it was not found by the cleaning crew. Sometimes shirts will walk away if not properly secured right ? Management decided that it couldn't possibly be the cleaning crew because they've been there for years ??? I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone that I like. read more

Overall an A-OK experience! I give it 3.5 stars. Staff was friendly all around. The rates are pretty affordable, I got a room on a Friday for $74+taxes=$84.65 This Hotel isn't the newest (wallpaper about to come off), but its well kept and matched it's price range, I didn't see any hair on the sheets which is indeed a +++++++++ 2 T.V's in the room, which when both turned on its like SURROUND SOUND (hint) The only con I have is their loud toilet! it makes an extremely loud obnoxious noise when flushed! and you can hear your neighbors toilets too!! Their mini fridge is not cold enough, You have to get ICE to ice your beer! I did appreciate their complimentary bfast and open, airy, well lit dining area, the food selection was very basic, you know packaged eggs (I saw the older man bring it out to refill from a clear plastic bag), bagel, toast, waffle (you can add chocolate chips in the batter to make it a chocolate chip waffle!) The older man who I'm assuming is the one who keeps the bfast bar clean was quite accommodating-- I witnessed a guy ask for 4 hardboiled eggs and he came out with them in less than 1 minute! We have stayed in four hotels this trip and I have to say this is the nicest out if all of them! The room is clean, modern and very comfortable! They offer a nice breakfast, it had a good selection and there were three different ladies cleaning and restocking. We used the pool and it was clean and well maintained and the pool towels were very soft! I also used the gym in the morning, I love having that available its always the best way to start the day.! Traveling for work, I opted to stay at this Springhill Suites due to its proximity to our client's office. Even though I knew it was in the flight path of Sky Harbor Airport, it's in the perfect location to get to ASU, the 202 freeway, and all the major Tempe and Scottsdale attractions very quickly. The property is in very good shape considering its consistently high occupancy rate. When ASU starts the new school year, this place gets packed in a hurry. (One great part about booking here is the franchisee's of this Springhill property also run the Fairfield Inn by the airport, so they can usually accommodate you in case of overbooking.) The common areas, both interior and exterior, are clean, brightly lit, and looking well-kept. Parking can be an issue, but the lots are well-lit and there are some overflow areas where you can safely leave your vehicle. The front desk staff at this property is EXCELLENT. Maria was particularly helpful, as I was able to check in early and get settled in prior to an early afternoon meeting, and I had room key in-hand less than 2 minutes after I arrived at Reception. All my requests were met with a smile and a "yes", so I was a pretty happy camper. Unfortunately, after checking in and making my way to the room, there was an odor in the hallway of the 6th floor that smelled of a backed-up sewer line or an unclean grey-water pool. (It could be the ice machine floor drain needs a good cleaning or the trap cleaned out, or that an unused guest room has plumbing issues.) I also received a room that had not been properly run "through the checklist", as the shower wasn't properly cleaned (errant hairs, dried toothpaste on shower walls), the toilet wasn't flushed from last use (um, gross), and the carpet had little bits of white stuff all over. Additionally, the switch knob for the ceiling fan was missing, and the mini-fridge was missing a foot, causing havoc when opening. Maintenance was alerted, and they addressed the repairs right away, but I elected to withhold my housekeeping issues until the hotel GM was in the next day, since they didn't require immediate attention. Meeting the next day with Kim Bresee, hotel General Manager, my concerns and feedback were met with great concern, and an honest appreciation for my impressions as a guest. Her attitude made a very positive impact on my overall view of this hotel, and my stay. Her assurance of addressing my experience directly with her housekeeping staff immediately was appreciated. I sure do appreciate it when someone acts right away to resolve an issue. Checkout was smooth, and the handy Marketplace by the front desk was great for buying last-minute bottled water & tea for the road. They do appear to have replaced carpet, painted walls and new couch. Elevator VERY slow. Overall I would stay here again if travel plans require near airport. read more

Had a great stay here. Came to town for a half marathon and this location is so close to the airport not to mention so close to our start line. They has shuttle service to and from the airport and any place with in 2 miles. So they took us to our start line. Rooms were nice, clean, and comfy. They also have complementary breakfast which is always nice. We didnt get to eat but at least it was a option. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool & Spa area is nice. ***This Springhill Suites is an average hotel, but it is clean and comfortable; room rates are also very reasonable though hotels throughout the Phoenix area tend to offer very competitive room rates compared to other big cities*** Springhill Suites hotels have a similar style as Marriott's Fairfield Inn brand (even some former Fairfield Inn & Suites properties have been re-done as Springhill Suites). This puts Springhill Suites a notch below Marriott's Courtyard brand in terms of the quality and room comfort. Because of this, I tend to prefer Courtyard to Springhill Suites. I have been to a few good Springhill Suites though like the locations in Waco, Napa and Manhattan (Midtown). This Springhill Suites in Tempe, Arizona is more in the just okay to decent range. This property, like many hotels in the Phoenix area, offers very reasonable room rates. The hotel has a good mix of quality, comfort and a variety of amenities. All Springhill Suites rooms are suites. The suites here at this Tempe property are not that big, but there is a decent living room area as well as a mini fridge and a kitchen sink. The room was clean and the shower worked fairly well. The room temperature unit was okay. The bed was fine though it was definitely on the soft side. Wi-Fi was free and I did not experience any issues with it. Other amenities included free parking and a free breakfast. The breakfast included a lot of breakfast breads, pastries and cold items (cereal). The breakfast also offered a few hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes though these hot items were definitely very below average in terms of quality. The orange juice was also very watery (like the orange juice at other Springhill Suites). I stayed during New Year's Eve and given the proximity to Arizona State University, there was definitely a lot of partying going on in the rooms. This type of loudness and disruption is to be expected though I think there probably should have been more monitoring by the hotel staff like I have seen at Marriott hotels during this time of year. Service was fine though probably not quite up to the very high standards that most Marriott brand hotels set. Marriott Rewards Platinum members receive a choice of arrival gift--bonus points or two items from their market (a good variety of snacks, candy, drinks, and ice cream). This is an okay Springhill Suites. The room was not great, but it was a good value for the price. If you need to stay in this area and it is a short stay (and you are loyal to the Marriott brand), this hotel is a good option. Parking is complimentary and it is very easy finding an open space. read more
