This hotel is the perfect example of lots of pros but also lots of cons. But I think I will still come back despite the cons because the pros are pretty good. Pros: - Usually hotels have a built-in gym with all the basics, but since this hotel is attached to LA Fitness, that space has become Springhill's gym which is great because there are a lot more and different equipment and facilities. The bad thing is the gym is not the most sanitary. - The location is wonderful! It's next to a lot of eats as well as supermarkets too. - Free breakfast! It's not the best food in the world, but it is free and it will fill you up. Cons - The hotel has some sanitary issues. When we entered the room, we found trash stuffed in one of the corners of the mirror and a hair on the bathroom stall which was really gross. - The shower is actually separated from the toilet which could be good or bad depending on how you like your bathroom to be laid out. - The pillowcase had a pretty awful smell to it. It smelled like it hadn't been washed for a while which was pretty gross.

For a chain that advertises and promotes cleanliness and great hygiene and sanitizing practices. This was the filthiest room we have ever stayed at. And we are long term elite level clients of Marriott, so that's saying a lot. Most disappointed with headquarters pretending to care by sending a generic reply, possibly by a bot that never responds back in human terms. Really evaluating where my future relationship stands with them, since there seems to be a total lapse of actually utilizing good practices, unlike what they run over and over on their video monitor and the actual truth! This room smelled like vomit! Pictures will give you some idea of the multiple issues with this particular location!

This hotel is really bad. First the rooms aren't really suites. More like a larger room but one room not really true suite. Smallest microwave also smallest refrigerator I've ever seen in a hotel. The bed was worn out and uncomfortable. Sunk right in to the bottom. The bathroom was extremely small. Had a separate tiny room for the toilet. TV was tiny. No place affordable to eat nearby, plan on a minimum $25 for the least expensive food on any menu in nearby restaurants. Top it off I've never had worse breakfast food. Absolutely disgusting. $19 a day for parking, no discount given. Last but not least, it rained two nights I was there and you can't really sleep when it's raining, sounds like someone slapping a leather chair over and over so I'd give this hotel zero stars or even a minus...

One of the best hotels in Pittsburgh! The location is ideally located close to the universities, hospitals, and downtown Pittsburgh. The hotel offers a huge variety of services and amenities, my favorites being the complimentary breakfast and complimentary access to LA Fitness which is adjacent to the hotel. The hotel also features a patio that overlooks Bakery Square and is open in the warm weather! Ah

I stayed here one night because I thought the trendy Bloomfield neighborhood would provide a nice change-of-pace from the more established downtown area. I was also planning to drive to upstate New York and thought this would be a convenient location for a faster getaway. Well, a sudden winter snowstorm forced me to cancel the side trip to New York, and I ended up spending very little time exploring Bloomfield because I took a long nap in my room after a sleepless night in the previous hotel. Even though it was bordering on pointless to shift to this hotel, I still enjoyed the studio I reserved for $152. There was a comfortable king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a corner sofa, and a 360-degree swivel flatscreen TV. It was a lot of amenities I didn't need, but hey, it was freezing cold, so the apartment set-up made it feel cozy. One other advantage was a sizable lot to park my rental SUV. Even though they offered a happy hour and continental breakfast, I skipped both. Instead I braved the cold and just strolled on Baum to find a decent greasy spoon for dinner and a quiet gay bar for a drink. Not a bad stay, and I'd consider a return to explore Bloomfield. The lobby area was really pretty and so much larger than it appears from outside. Free breakfast! The pool was nice and heated. We had it to ourselves both times we went in it during our stay. The hotel is located is a great area. Cons: It seems like the furniture was poor quality. Multiple times during the stay there was a panel that kept falling off the table in the kitchen area. The parking is pricey. I absolutely hate paying for parking. I wish this came with the hotel stay as it was also already priced on the higher end. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. I would probably pick a day that didn't fall on a holiday weekend for a less expensive stay.

Here's our experience. 1) Check-In: One unique aspect of this hotel is that the check-in is on the top floor with a beautiful view of Pittsburgh. Take the elevator to the 10th floor and two check in stands are right when the elevator doors open. The entire check-in experience took about five minutes. The woman helping us was efficient, personable, and even gave us a walking map of the area. She also gave us two drink vouchers to use on house beer, wine, or a mocktail at the hotel bar. 2) Rooms: Our larger room was on the 4th floor with two queen sized beds. The room corridor was wide, making it look much larger. There are plenty of outlets everywhere, lights, a TV, a Keurig machine, a fridge, and more. The bathroom was spacious with a toilet room with a closing door inside, a large shower, and Le Labo shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The beds are semi comfy and come with lots of pillows. 3) Amenities: There's no pool, but there is a gym with machines and weights. There's also a small rooftop terrace with a view of the Cathedral of Learning, work areas, and more. There's valet parking and a cheaper parking garage not connected to the hotel across the street. One interesting aspect of the hotel is that it's on the site of the Syrian Mosque, a large music venue. A recording studio, guitar, etc. inside the hotel are all nods to the music venue. 4) Service: The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a day of exploring, our room had a nice card with chocolate, macarons, and raspberries, and nice water for us. My wife forgot her toothbrush and the front desk gave her a free one from behind the desk! 5) Neighborhood: It's next to a number of museums and monuments and the Cathedral of Learning, which is worth a tour to see their Nationality Rooms.

They also explained the amenities including a pool, hot tub, roof top lounge, free pop and popcorn at 4pm, 5:30pm dinner kick back with free drinks, and breakfast. The building was previously a federal reserve bank and still has the original bank vaults in the basement area, which are now meeting rooms. We've had great experiences with other Hotel Indigos and we were willing to stay a bit outside of the city to stay at this trusting brand, but we were very sorry we did. While the hotel appears decent on the exterior the rooms are anything but clean. Our trip started with arriving to what appeared to be an okay room. The room/hall had a vague scent of mold but that as the least of our worries. When I went to put my water bottle in the fridge I noticed there was a McChicken from a previous guest. The fridge also smelled so it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Upon further inspection the room had multiple stains on our bedding as seen below. I travel often and I have never been in a hotel room so dirty. The floor had clearly not been swept in between guests as evidenced from a penny and some crumbs found near the trash can. In addition to the dirty interior the bathroom and shower were not cleaned. The shower had hair from a guest that was neither myself or my traveling partner. There were also cracks in the walls throughout the bathroom. In addition to the disgusting room the hotel also employs one person for the Valet. The lines to get your car were consistently long and for $32 per night it really didn't seem worth it. If this were a cheap hotel I would simply say you get what you pay for but it's not. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. While the area surrounding the hotel is decent, the hotel itself is not worth it. You can pay a similar amount for a hotel in a more central location with better cleanliness. The only reason the review is 2 stars instead of 1 is because the AC worked very well and we were visiting during a heat wave. Overall, we will not be returning to this Hotel Indigo.
