Nice spot to stay near OSU. Check-in was very easy and was asked if there was a floor or room preference. Rooms were spacious and clean. Only thing I didn't really like was the odd split of the bathroom, with the toliet and a small sink on one side and the shower and another sink through another door. Breakfast was decent enough. Just wish they would have had a non-pork meat option. Overall, nice place to stay. read more

Okay hotel. Rooms are a bit dated (for instance the iPod docking stations are not useful today) and the waffle batter was out both days at breakfast. Homewood or Staybridge are significantly better. Shuttle is a plus but is very limited to where it can drop off or pickup. Hence it was not super useful for me. read more

I figured since it was away from the pool and gym it would be fine. WRONG. The noise travels and I could hear everything in the lobby happening in my room. Pillows suck and the walls are paper thin. This is a nice hotel to people who have never stayed at a really nice hotel. The "suite" is set up awkwardly without the privacy that true suites usually offer. The lighting around my bed did not work, and in general, the lighting was terrible, particularly in the part of the bathroom with the vanity. (The bathroom is divided into two sections.) The breakfast options were less than impressive. It was clean, and the staff at check-in was friendly. It's an okay place to stay if you just need a night's stay, but I wouldn't choose it again if I had another option. read more

Solid hotel. They even gave me a discount since I was visiting OSU! There is a train that goes by several times throughout the day and night, so if you stay I'd recommend getting a room facing away from the tracks and you shouldn't have a problem. Only reason why I'm docking a star is because there were some extremely sus looking stains on the massive couch in my suite, no excuse not to have them shampooed out. read more

we booked through Allianz and they sent a confirmation with no hotel name and springhill suites never sent out a confirmation so we got to Columbus for the sonic temple music festival and had no place to stay ,they charged me over 1,500 dollars and I can't reach anyone who can help me resolve the issue and we had to pay 1500 for a hotel to stay in down there!!!worst customer service ever !!I will never use Allianz again or stay at any hotel chain again! read more

My first time staying at a Springhill and loved it. It's a mini suite. Separate walk in shower from toilet. A big sofa and very comfortable working desk. Plenty of ligh fixtures. If I get picky I'd ask for bigger TV and better power outlet distribution. But as I said, extremely pleased with my stay.the whole team was friendly and professional. I was looking for a quick weekend trip to Columbus and wanted something in the area of Olentangy Road where I had stayed before since I love the area so much. I booked through Hotels.com and was excited for my trip. Walking in, the lobby area's clean and well kept. Plenty of sitting room with tables and chairs for you to use and enjoy. The desk staff here was very professional at all times and really took good care of me. during my stay. Check in was easy and quick and after I got to my room I called down to the desk to request extra cups for my stay along with coffee pods since I need more then one cup in the morning. The room itself was spacious and wonderful. Separate couch area with a pull out bed, a TV that swivels to watch either in bed or on the couch, and plenty of lighting. The bathroom is divided into two separate areas with super cool sliding wood and glass doors. The toilet has it's own area with a sink, and the shower has it's own separate area as well with a sink as well. Bed was large and comfy with plenty of pillows and extra blankets in a closet area off to the side. A few things I noticed during my stay that caused me to dock a star. First, there were small LED lights attached to the headboard that allowed you to read in bed if you wished. Only one of them worked, and not on the side of the bed that I sleep on, of course. Mine was not only broken, but I was able to pull it right out of the headboard! I was upset about this as it would have been nice. Also, they only have one lamp on one side of the bed, so one side is dark. Of course it's not on the side that I sleep on. That's why I wished the little reading light would have worked for me to get in and out of bed. Also, the desk area was great, but the lights above that were permanently installed did not have a switch. I looked everywhere. Weird. I guess it's a thing because they put a lamp on the desk so I could see instead. Weird. Ok, fine. I was able to do my computer thing, so that's ok, problem solved. The breakfast that they provide was acceptable, but I didn't eat a whole lot. It's enough to get you where you need to go, but I wouldn't call it filling. Eggs, sausage gravy, muffins, bagels ETC. They do have a great coffee area, so that helps. They have a great pool here but I didn't see a hot tub. Fitness room here that got used a lot by other hotel guests, newer looking equipment and TV's for entertainment in there. Parking can be tough at night, but that's most any hotel you stay at. They have a snack bar area with small ticket items to enjoy including wine and other stuff. Overall a great stay and I really enjoyed my time here. read more

I think I'd rather sleep in my car than stay here again. The musty smell of my room when I opened the door let me know it was going to be a long stay. At first glance the room looks spacious and clean, but it's kind of dated and needs a few renovations. I saw 2 bugs in my room- 1 dead and I killed the other. I don't know what kind of bugs they were, but I'm hoping I didn't bring any home in my bags. I took pics of them, so you know it's real. The safety latch on the door wasn't secure, and the walls are so thin. I heard every step over head, toilet flush, and sneeze during my stay. I should have known it was a basic lower end hotel when the bartender wore a t-shirt and the desk reps had on street clothes. They were really friendly and helpful, so no complaints on customer service. The room I stayed in needs some tlc and an exterminator. It's close to campus, but there are other hotels on the same street that are a much better stay! If you're just looking for a place to crash and keep it moving, this place will do. The hotel itself was fine, but after parking my car, the lot stank of weed. It may have been the couple who checked in in front of me, though. My stay was significantly affected by the warning at check-in about the recent car break-ins, especially by guests of the Varsity Inn next door... I guess I appreciate the candor, but I lost some sleep over that... was relieved the windows weren't smashed in the next morning. We heard trains nearby but none overnight, thankfully. The king suite was spacious, and I liked the way the office desk was sectioned off. But the TV was in a weird spot where no one in the room could watch it from a comfortable angle, be it from the couch or from the bed. The hot breakfast buffet was good - the Wakeman waffle maker was still out, and they had sausage and scrambled eggs (plus salsa and cheddar), which wasn't the case at the last hotel I stayed in due to covid precautions. read more

Stayed there 2 nights to be with my husband in the hospital. We stayed the first night to check him into the hospital the next morning. He had a procedure and we were there all day. We returned to the hotel exhausted to take a shower but no clean towels or sheets. No Kleenex and the toilet paper was almost out. Front desk informed me rudely that housekeeping only comes every other day. This was something no one told us at check in and there were no signs in the room informing us. As a Titanium Elite I've stayed in a ton of Marriotts, this was the nicest SpringHill I've ever stayed in. The room is really neat with some nice finishing touches, the breakfast was good and the lobby was fresh and modern. However our Netflix didn't work, played for a minute and then the TV gave us an HDCP error message. Front desk finally answered after instantly putting me on hold twice, should at least ask you to please hold.... but we chose to not have maintenance company after already being in bed for the night. And then the trains and planes came, ugh. It's pretty loud on the back side of the hotel. Thankfully I travel with a fan or it would have been an even rougher night. I might make it back here and will try the front of the hotel. read more

I typically stay in SpringHill Suites- ones with pools- when I travel for work so I booked this one, located 5 miles from my work setting. My room was clean, comfy bed, solid shower. The fridges are never cold, but that is not unusual to this hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, letting me cash in a few dollars for laundry quarters, and mopping up the elevator after soppy kids rode it up from the pool. I was here on Spring Break week, I think, as there were a lot of kids at the hotel and the hotel pool- which is super small- was unusable as it was filled with kids each time I went down to try to have my swim. Kids and parents walked from the pool to the elevator each day, leaving behind a trail of water. But the front desk staff guy mopped it up! FREE breakfast was very appreciated! It was standard SpringHill: waffles, sausage, bagels, yogurt, juices, bread/bagels and packaged muffins. Staff at the buffet were attentive and kind. There was also biscuit/saugage/egg sandwiches and egg/chorizo burritos, too, one day. I really appreciated the basket of peeled boiled eggs each day. That was my fav part of breakfast. Free parking was nice. I'd stay here again, but I definitely won't book over holiday weeks as I do like to take a swim each day and I booked this hotel specifically because it had an indoor pool. read more

The other reviews were accurate. This hotel is situated next to what is in my non-professional opinion a trap-house hotel. No big deal; this is a larger city, and larger cities have crack spots. Our room was clean, the common areas were spacious & well lit, the staff friendly. Breakfast was adequate; average or a half tick above the typical included-with-the-room hotel fare. The split bathrooms in the room (one with a sink & toilet, one with a shower & sink) were so damn convenient. Why wasn't this a thing 30 years ago? Other than the aforementioned eyesore next door, the neighborhood seems safe & the hotel is situated close to all the things we came to Columbus to do. read more

The staff was awesome and very helpful when I checked in late. However the room smelled and when I woke up to shower I found mold on the ceiling and shower curtain. The room configuration is unusual, the toilet and a sink are in one room while the tub/shower and larger sink are in another room. The seating area is large and comfortable. OMG. Stayed here for 2 nights for a meeting at OSU. Selected because of reviews, nearness to OSU, and price ($400 for 2 nights that is going rate in this neck of the woods). After arriving on Friday afternoon and getting settled, I decided to get a shower before dinner. After running the shower at about 5 PM for many minutes with no hot water - it was cold - not even tepid - I called the front desk. His reply "Well it happens. We just had a bunch of people check in. Run it for 5 minutes or so and you should be OK". Well - 20 minutes of running a cold shower I jumped in. On Saturday early AM, I did get hot water. On Sunday AM, I got warmish water after running it for many minutes. Hotels plumbing systems are designed to handle the number of people staying such that hot water is available almost immediately (recirculating hot water). So this hotel was not designed properly or is in need of repairs. I emailed the hotel manager but 4 days later - no reply. Also - train tracks adjoin the property so if you like some occasional noise.. The property is newish, clean, and well staffed. But if I am paying $100, $200, or whatever a night - I expect hot water. read more

The reservation was made online. Then I was prompted to check in early. This was confirmed when my credit card had the amount of the reservation reserved on it. I called before noon to confirm the reservation the day of my outpatient surgery. I arrived to check in when my card was then declined. I checked the balance and it was available. My cash was refused. My wife bought a prepaid visa to pay with a card as required, when she picked up my prescription. I was still refused the room. Then the manager said I could pay with cash. We left and drove almost two hours home, while I tried to stay face down after retinal surgery. We will never use Marriot again! read more

Nice, clean, laid-back, quiet hotel, in a very convenient location (at least for me). Within walking distance of several dining and drinking establishments, close to OSU and other key businesses. One of the better Spring Hill Suites I've stayed at. However, the door keys still aren't reliable. I have not yet stayed at a Marriott where I haven't had to have the keys re-coded at least every other day (sometimes daily). That's really irritating. I usually get two keys, and I keep one in my wallet, and the other in my backpack - away from other cards and magnetic objects - doesn't matter, they still just 'give out' in 20-40 hours. Also, this particular Spring Hill Suites was always hot and sticky in the front desk / lobby / bar area. I'd go down for morning breakfast/coffee, and would just be sweating by the time I walked out. It was actually cooler outside than inside (July), I'd leave the lobby and go outside to cool down, or back to my room. They need to give the A/C a boost - it's an unpleasant way to start the day, and it makes me not want to hang out at the bar in the evening. read more

After a horrible experience at the hotel next door, SpringHill Suites was an absolutely awesome experience. I have stayed at a number of their locations when travelling around the country for work or pleasure and never had an issue. Their parent company is the Marriott and they do a great job in maintaining and building the companies brand. So I had never stayed at this location and they made me feel like a welcomed guest from the minute I walked in the door. I was greeted by a friendly clerk and offered a rate lower than what they had advertised online. Checking in was an absolute breeze. The rooms are clean and modern. I don't know if every room is a suite, but mine was and it was clean and modern. I had a king size bed with a seperate seating and dining area. The couch is much nicer then a couple of chairs, they have a fridge and microwave in the room, there is a seperate room for a shower and sink as well as a room for a toilet and a sink. The bed was comfortable and I love their shower heads. They had a nice breakfast buffet in the morning in their lobby and also have a bar inside the hotel. When eating breakfast after a great night sleep I heard a couple of other guest talking about their swimming pool. My only knock was I thought the pool water was a little cool for my taste. I did not swim, only stuck my hands in to see if the kids were right that it was like swimming in a glass of ice water. I didn't think ice water, more so room temp bottled water. Of note for future guests, I saw a number of signs throughout the property that stressed their no smoking policy and a potential fine for guests found smoking. There were also signs stating that because of their liquor license that outside alcohol was not alllowed to be consumed on the premisis due to the restrictions of their liquor license. With that said I never said a word about how bad I felt I was treated at their competitor but they showed me how customer service is supposed to be done and that a brand name hotel can offer great value even when you are paying a little more than a discount chain. I dug this hotel. It has a newly remodeled look to it and the service was friendly and quick. I liked the amenities too. The work out room was clean and complete with some treadmills and ellipticals along with a set of free weights and a TV to pass the time. Their lap pool is small but a nice feature to have. Mornings offer a complimentary hot breakfast. My room was off the first floor and it was mostly clean. That said there were some fruit flies in my room that were a nuisance but I'll chalk that up to a fluke. The shower could've been cleaner and the handle to the glass shower door was falling off but all in all a nice place to stay. My room had a desk behind a glass partition with a fold out couch with a couple tables that you could pull up to the bed for laptop use...so for the business traveler I think this place is worth coming back to for what it is. read more

This room was listed as "sleeps four." Only had bedding for three. After asking twice, we were told they are out of pillows. That is after we we were told to come down stairs and get what we need. They refused to deliver. Gym was filthy. Out of towels, food and ceiling debris on the floor for days, and equipment not wiped down. No cups for water in gym and bathroom had no paper towels on multiple days. Housekeeping is prioritized for new check-ins. We left the room for more than six hours and requested the room be cleaned. It was not. When I inquired, I was told they can't guarantee a time, but it would be done the same day. We had already been in it for 3 days with no housekeeping. When it was done, it was very nice. There is a sign on the lobby tv that reads, housekeeping will only be provided for guests staying more than seven days. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. Pool was closed the first day. Then too much chlorine to swim. Dryers were awful. After two cycles clothes were still wet. Breakfast is the same every day. Positives - room was cheap, clean, and close to OSU. Three nights left, Lol. Usually not counting down for vacation to be over. Can't believe this is part or Marriott. read more

The a/c unit in my room was louder than I would have liked -- it woke me up multiple times throughout the night -- but I assume it's an older building with some older fixtures. They have cheap window units that are loud and go on and off all night. Even when taken out of "auto" and set to "high." Bring earplugs or turn it off like me and have your room get to 80 degrees while you try and sleep. I am a Marriott Platinum Rewards member, but definitely avoiding this property again until if/when they do something about that. read more

This hotel was brand new and everything was perfectly clean. We had a room with two queen beds. Love the queens instead of doubles! There were two bathroom areas, one with a toilet and sink, and another with a bathtub/shower and sink. The mini fridge was actually....wait for it....cold!! Been a long time since a mini fridge in a hotel room actually did it's job well. The location was very close to OSU (hence the name) but was also within 5-10 minutes of downtown which was really nice. The lobby was nice and there was always water available. There was supposed to be a bar open nightly but I never once saw it open and we came through there all through the afternoon and evening. The service leaves something to be desired. Both mornings when I went down to breakfast there was practically nothing available. The eggs and sausage were almost empty with just bits that look like everyone had their hands on them left over. The oatmeal was empty and cleaned out with 45 minutes left to spare during breakfast. The batter was removed from the waffle machine...again with 45 minutes to spare. Our room was barely made up. The bed would have the sheets and comforter put back to the top of the bed but not smoothed out and the decorative blanket was never put back. The bathroom would have new towels but nothing got wiped down. The plastic cups were never replaced. Simply put....it was subpar at best. Finally, no receipt under our door the morning of check out so I went to the desk to get the receipt and was handed a blank one. They said they didn't know how to print another one so I never got a detailed bill. The hotel could be great if they could get the service items figured out. read more

I stayed here while interviewing at OSU, and it was very conveniently located close to OSU and the airport. The room was quiet, clean and spacious, with a nice set-up including desk, sitting area, fridge and microwave. The furnishings were quite modern and the bed was comfy. The fitness center is sparse but sufficient if you only need it for a couple days. Breakfast is served early enough (starts at 6:30), with waffles, eggs, sausages, yogurt, fresh fruit, and other regular continental stuff. There is also a Wendy's about a block away. The only issue I had was that my room was close to the parking lot, which had very bright floodlights that came through and around the drapes. I used some eyemasks that I brought along for my flight which made it bearable, so I would recommend bringing some along if you're like me and need your room to be dark when you sleep. read more

Overall, I found Springhill Suites to be a pleasant stay. Clean and quiet room, no fuss no muss. Would I stay here again? No. Just little things, I guess. Hotel bar did not have any food, they were out of everything. Although a small issue, when you have travelled all day, the last thing you want to do is head out in single digits in search of food. There is nothing nearby as in walking distance, that I would eat. Maybe I am picky. The vacant inn next door was also a little off putting. I obliged to the front desk staff solution and ordered out. I never ever do this. I don't because I do not enjoy eating in my room. Nor do I enjoy delivery food. Don't order from Wings. I was chilly last night and went for the extra blanket in the closet. (Hey, where is the extra pillow? No, I'm not calling the front desk because it is late and I have my nightclothes on.) The extra blanket was rough and pilled. Not the fluffy velour blanket that you get at other places. Gross. Breakfast was ok. The eggs were reconstituted and you could tell. Business traveller here. The hotel *just* opened. Everything is brand new and super modern. I've found there are two types of SpringHill Suites -- 1) the old boring kind with stale decor from the late 80s/early 90s or 2) the new chic-styled hotels. This one falls in the latter. I had a king-sized room. The toilet is split from the bathroom so it has another sink. Flat screen TVs and a L-shaped couch making it pretty nice. There's an open desk area between the couch and bed area. The only downside was that 1) though it offers a ton of TV stations, it doesn't carry Bravo and 2) there was no tub (only shower) for a king-sized bedroom. This might not be the case for all room types, but ... The exercise room is pretty good, especially for a "budget" hotel. There are free weights and a coupe elliptical machines with their own entertainment systems, though they don't offer the same amount of TV stations as that in the room. There is a "dip pool," but I didn't try it. The hotel offers an open seating plan for breakfast and there is a bar area. Nice sitting area/lobby, too. Its location is great for OSU, but it's also pretty convenient to downtown. read more

Free lollipops on check-in. Free wifi. Friendly service. Free breakfast (not bad... cereal, oatmeal, eggs, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, etc.). Bar in the lobby. The room had a small seating area with a desk and sofa-bed. There's a microwave and small coffeemaker. The walls are pretty thin so you can hear the neighbors but it's not that bad unless you get a room full of 10 year olds next to you (like we did). The bathroom is pretty tiny but not too bad - the shower was fine. I thought the towels and soap seemed like motel-quality and felt out of place, but it wasn't a huge deal. Considering the convenient location (near OSU) and free perks (parking, wifi, breakfast, lollipops), this is a place I would definitely use again. Recommended. read more

Pretty much everything you want in a hotel at an affordable price. This is a cute, modern hotel, with friendly staff, probably a lot of whom are either students or recent grads from near by OSU. We stayed here for one night on our way over to Indiana, and had one of the best nights of sleep in a long time. Crazy comfortable beds and pillows! Plus, free hot breakfast is always awesome. Room was big, great if you or your travel partner need to get work done, with a divider set up between the desk area and the bed area. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars was the thin bathroom doors (hopefully you're comfortable with the person your traveling with!) and almost 50% of the TV stations being dedicated to ESPN stations. I know it's a college town, hell I'm on my way to a Purdue game right now, but I don't need to see last night's score on 10 different channels. read more

First time in Columbus, OH and found this hotel to be a lovely surprise! Easy distance to walk to campus/tailgates/football stadium! Free parking which is always nice. The room is spacious and has a separate sitting/living room space (has a couch, coffee tables) from the bed. The bathroom is also separated - one part toilet and sink, next area shower and vanity area - very nice as two people can get ready at the same time and in different areas :) Great comfy bed, clean - very clean. After the OSU game, their bar area stayed open then woke up the next morning to a free breakfast inclusive of eggs, sausage, juices, breakfast pastries, etc... For what we paid, we were very pleased with our accommodations and how friendly the staff was! read more

The staff is extremely nice and friendly and helpful. Overall the place is nice but the "suites" are tiny and the walls or half walls inside the suite are paper thin. They have a full bar open until midnight and a mini store inside the lobby which is quite convenient. Complimentary breakfast is very nice. WARNING! This place is not for you if you have small children. Free breakfast, parking, free internet drew me to this place. Normally, we have our small child sleep in a crib placed in the bathroom. In most hotels the doors are normally so thick that a child can sleep soundly without being bothered. This allows us to watch TV or a movie and have a light on. In this place, they have sliding glass doors that let in both light and noise. Let's just say, none of us got any sleep. The other problem was the bed. It creaked really loud getting in and out of bed. REALLY, REALLY loud. Our girl heard us get up every time. If you don't have kids with you, you'll probably love this place. Clean too. Poorly designed for young children. It was hard to pay $159 a night plus junk state taxes to get a bad night sleep every night. read more
