Why did I visit this Sprinkles location? Well, if you're super petite, you likely already know. The only Banana Republic and Anthropology locations with petite sections within 90 miles of my residence are right around the corner (one in walkable distance of this cupcakery, which is relevant because parking in this area can be challenging.) Anyways, this review is clearly about cupcakes! I was drawn to revisit Sprinkles due to one of theirs seasonal bakes- the lemon meringue. However, when I arrived, the salty caramel, chocolate marshmallow, and dark chocolate all looked equally tasty, so...I bought them all! I wish I could say that I then parceled them out over the next couple of days, but the reality is, my culinary sweet tooth won, and I tried all but the dark chocolate the day of purchase...I did also share with a few friends, I promise. While I have fond memories of Sprinkles in the past, these cupcakes weren't as I remember. The lemon meringue was tasty apart from the graham cracker crust that felt either old or lacking crisp (the salt was nice though). The chocolate marshmallow was sadly the most expensive Hostess cake I've ever bought, and the sugar topper on the salted caramel, just shouldn't be eaten...maybe I got a bad one?! With almost all of the bakes the flavors seemed right or near right, but the crumb seemed off. On the plus side, when the order tablets are acting up, the customer service is great, the store was super clean, and there's a cupcake vending machine...score! So in the world of cupcakeries, this one is a solid aight, but I'll be visiting the location closer to my home base soon, fingers crossed. read more

Location: Located in Highland Village next to The Apple Store, Sprinkles sits nestled in a shopping center that is visible from the street. Parking: This shopping center is popping, so good luck finding a close spot! Amenities (Vending Machine): This location has a vending machine. Although I have never used it, it is super cute. It sits on the opposite side of the building, almost like it should be a back door to Sprinkles. However, you cannot enter Sprinkles from the same side as the vending machine. If you park back there, you will have to walk around. I asked the worker if I can redeem my birthday treat from the vending machine and they didn't know. I still don't sheeeeesh, but that's okay. Food: I love coming into the storefront. My favorite is looking for what the flavor of the month is. Unfortunately, they didn't have anymore. I guess they only make so many a day and I was too late. I chose the lemon flavor cupcake. My cupcake was delicious. All of them are neatly done and have the cute candy on top. However, the candy is not as good as the cupcake. It is a bit bitter. I had heard great things about Sprinkles online and was exited to try their cupcakes when we were down for the rodeo. I ordered a 6 pack of different flavors to get a good selection with a pick up time 10:30 am. My family was so excited. When I arrived the cupcakes were not ready and there was no curbside service despite what i had marked on my order. The worst part was the cupcakes themselves. All 6 of them were dry and the frostings was hard. Not only were they dry but the cake itself lacked flavor. The visual appearance of the cakes was nice but so disappointed in the product. The company markets it self as fresh baked cupcakes but there were defiantly over a day old. You can get much better cupcakes at Walmart or your local grocer for half the price. I have to say the staff is GREAT! I stopped by the ATM because the store was closed. It took my payment but didn't give me the cupcakes. I drove around front and there was an employee outside off the clock waiting on rode. I told her what happened and she immediately called inside to her manager and asked could they get my cupcakes and bring them upfront. The manager took care of me and I didn't have to wait the next day or anything. This was a big deal because they did this whole closed. I appreciate it. Plus my cupcakes was DELICIOUS! Oh Sprinkles, Your cupcakes have become drier than a boring brick wall. What happened? Within the span of two months I have visited twice. I LOVE SPRINKLES. And I highly recommend it to anyone. I love the red velvet. I love the cookie flavor cupcake. I loved the peanut butter chocolate chip. I love salted caramel. I love the dark chocolate. Don't get my started on the s'mores... I mean, there's hardly a cupcake flavor at Sprinkles I don't like. But there is something that I don't like at Sprinkles - the price. I don't want to be discouraging but please do not waste your hard earned money on these cupcakes. First, the pricing is pretty up there for even one cupcake which usually I wouldn't mind so much if the product I am paying for was of substance. The cupcake itself isn't a size that would be worth five dollars. The taste is definitely nothing to write home about. I purchased a dark chocolate cupcake. The cake was very dry and had almost no flavor. The icing itself is very dense and the only way to describe it is "sweet". There wasn't that dark chocolate taste that one expects would be in a dark chocolate cupcake. Overpriced and underwhelming. Tasting one cupcake was enough to turn me off wanting to come back to try anything else. If you're going to purchase from here, do it with the thought that you are supporting the women who were very nice and had great customer service. Gluten free chocolate chip cookies. Sadly, today is the last day I will purchase these cookies. Why you ask? Well, sprinkles changed the product. It went from a big cookie to 4 smaller ones. The he told us today that they took the same cookie and divided into four and then baked it. Obviously he is mistaken because if he took one cookie and cut it into four pieces, then they would be oddly shaped. each one of these cookies is a tiny round cookie and it is obviously not the same Weight as the one large cookie. Please see the attached cookie. It is also now 3.99 instead of 4.50. This is a very popular cookie because there were numerous times that they were sold out several hours before they closed. So, it's not like they changed the recipe because they weren't selling the cookie. Lower price = less cookie. It was more appetizing as a large cookie and it was thicker. There are less chocolate chip pieces as well. Remember when coke changed the recipe to "new coke?" It didn't go over well. Change it back to the old 4.50 cookie. Went here today with my two girls. They were excited to use the atm but when we tried it only had 4 flavors and wouldn't let us have more than 1 red velvet. This past Wednesday was my husband's birthday. We took a spontaneous day trip to Galveston and found ourselves returning home to the DFW area much later than we originally anticipated. I loved the cinnamon for myself and ate it before we even got home. I'm not even a big cinnamon fan, but this one had the perfect balance where it wasn't overpowering. The combinations in the ATM are different than what you buy in store. What came out of the ATM was several days old, dry, white cake, smothered in crusty flavored icing. I eat cupcakes for the cake and scrape away most of the icing, so not getting a good cupcake with the proper flavors was sad. In short: I threw $10 in the trash can and ate some protein yogurt.
