First time at this location. I've gone to the other one in Klein when I lived up there. I wanted peanut butter cookies and decided to stop on my way home. The staff were kind and friendly. Super helpful about recommendations. Tons of stuff and variations. I got a slice of pecan pie but they had like 4 versions to choose from. I got my peanut butter cookies but the texture wasn't crunchy like I'm used to. The cinnamon roll was great. I got the raisin free one. This review is simply on what I ordered. Other items may be great. While this bakery offered lots of variety this cheesecake cupcake was not tasty whatsoever. I tend to avoid bakeries that have tons of options like this one because I always find that each dessert doesn't taste like it's baked with a lot of care and effort. This cheesecake cupcake was so dry, crumbly and it tasted like the fridge. I don't know if they had any savory pastries in the same fridge but I was getting a faint onion taste from this cupcake. I know this may sound strange but it tasted like how freezer burned items taste but in the fridge instead. The icing didn't taste like cheesecake. There's just a tiny dollop of the puree sitting on top. Idk, maybe I should've tried their best seller which is the gingerbread man but after this visit I won't be returning anytime soon sadly. read more

At the counter, the employees are friendly and immediately ask if you need help with anything. The rows of sweets and savories behind the glass and beautifully decorated and arranged. My personal favorites are the chocolate eclairs and the chocolate cupcakes. I have never tasted an eclair filling as perfectly balanced with sweetness level elsewhere, pairing well with the well baked shell. Also, the chocolate frosting is rich and nuanced. Totally delicious. The widest variety of items is at the original location on Braeswood. The branch locations have a smaller selection. I was disappointed to be told recently that they no longer make pumpernickel or rye bagels. Those were always my favorites. Fortunately, it is still possible to buy a loaf of seeded or unseeded rye bread. And I believe it is still possible to buy a loaf of pumpernickel. Stopped by on Good Friday. Ambiance and service was great. Coming in to buy cookie and small bite cakes for Easter Sunday dessert. Walked out spending $80 with $40 for just the cookie cake. I was happy with that considering the decorations for Easter. Adorable cookie cake, pettifors, and cake balls. The last two were tender and fabulously flavored- melted in the mouth. The cookie cake, however was so tough we couldn't cut it without a very sharp knife and dry throughout. Kind of an embarrassment at the dining table, frankly. Well this was disappointing. I purchased 4 cupcakes and a slice of cake for my daughter's birthday. We were taking it to a restaurant in lieu of ordering dessert. I have been coming to this location since I was little and it has always been one of my favorite places ever. I constantly recommend this place especially for the challah bread. The challah loaves and the rolls are amazing to take home and eat for sandwiches or alone. The price is a little higher than many usually pay for bread but totally worth it. I don't eat that much bread so I typically freeze half of it for later needs. The service is always good and they are always willing to help and give recommendations when asked. They definitely have the place setup like a coffee shop with tables and coffee to order but typically I just buy and go. Definitely recommend the cookies and brownies here also. I mean there isn't much you can buy from here that would steer you in the wrong direction. read more

Never using them before I did not know what to expect. But let me tell you the cake was delicious!! It looked grandiose and the taste was the best, it was so good that he stated that it reminded him of the cakes his mom used to bake for him when he was a child, and that is big!! I've been to the braeswood location twice now. It's hit or miss depending on what we get. Both times we have went we got items that seemed old. Most recently we got a cookie sandwich with cream in the middle. Got home and bite it and it's rock hard and the cream filling has hardened on the outside. Essentially it's like the cookie has been sitting there for a long time and is not fresh. Our pastries like the cheese danish and brownies are good though. read more

Extremely disappointed in Three Brothers Bakery in Memorial. I called around to several bakeries to see if they were able to make 2 cupcakes for a gender reveal with the color in the middle. I verified and reminded the baker on the phone several times the color as well as making sure it was hidden. They assured me they could do it and do it quickly. They were so nice when I picked them up so I will give them that but they did not even put the color in the cupcake. My friend who wanted this kind of reveal specifically, is very disappointed as am I. I will think twice about ever using Three Brothers again. read more

This establishment is one of my two favorite bakeries on the planet for cakes as well as Dessert Gallery not far away. I have always been very pleased with the cakes I have gotten from here off n on for my birthdays since I turned 6 when I first had one from here. The Death By Chocolate Cake and Cherry Pie are my favorites menu items here every single time. I also really like the Cherry Danish ( with no cream cheese ) and Gingerbread Cookie a lot too. I ordered an 8 inch Death By Chocolate Cake for my birthday over the weekend to share with some close family and we all loved it very much. It was really delicious, very rich, not overly sweet, good quality, packed with cake layers, fudge layers and dark chocolate ganache. It was slightly crispy, creamy and starchy all in one. You could even smell the egg yolks used for the cake's prep through the small seem in the box containing it. The service is always welcoming, friendly and efficient and I have always gone to this original location when I do bc it was always the closest of the 3 or 4 total stores. Imo, the Death By Chocolate Cake from Three Bros Bakery is one of the 3 best chocolate layer cakes I ever had along with the Jennifer's Cake from Dessert Gallery and the Midnight Cake from Pappas Bros Steakhouse. read more

My search for king cake lead me to Three Brothers, which was the only bakery that had them available for pickup without any pre-order. Located along a semi-desolate stretch of Braeswood Blvd and overlooking the Brays Bayou, I wouldn't have assumed this would be a worthy bakery. Being that this is one of three locations in the city and with rock solid Yelp ratings, they're clearly doing something right. From Christmas to Valentine's Day, they really do have a good selection of seasonal treats that are perfectly slated for holiday celebrations. Their variety of pies, custom cakes, chocolates, cookies, and all sorts of pastries is nothing short of impressive. Of course, I came for the king cake ($30), which they had in regular cream cheese, cinnamon, and strawberry. The king cake was not exactly close to the ones I've been spoiled by in Louisiana, but it's a pretty good option. The cake was soft, the icing was sweet, and the stuffing was abundant just enough to know that it was there. On the cake alone, I'd give it 3.5 stars and would probably order it again if I needed a fix or to supplement a fun potluck or dessert contribution. I have to say they had some really interesting looking cakes on display, such as the 7 layer mocha cake ($43), a beautiful white homestyle cake ($40), and even a mardi gras cheesecake ($50). The real star is their pumpecapple piecake, which comes in at a cool $250 a pop. Must be a hell of a cake. The service was comprised of some youngins, who look like they are high school or college. Not the most enthusiastic crew and their phone manners could definitely use some improvement. The frosting was sweet and tasty, and paired very well with the white cake. I did not try the cake balls, but was told that they were good. This just might be or go-to bakery for cakes in the future. I can honestly say this is the best bakery in Houston. I saw them on a local entertainment show during the holidays. The spotlight was on their pecan pies and to be honest, I thought that's all they sold, which isn't bad. So, I stopped in to get one, but that's when I discovered it's a bakery; it's a whole bakery with fresh bread, every cookie, donut, and cake you can imagine, and so much more. It's every dessert that you can think of, and it's so pretty inside. It's cozy and has a warm feeling of happiness. I was just amazed, and the staff didn't mind me asking questions about how this bakery started and more questions about the diffrent pastries and breads. She also didn't mine me piling on more items to my ticket after I said I was finished, but something else would catch my eye, and it went on and on. I wasn't sure if it was the sprinkles or the icing but the artificial taste of sugar made it quite hard to finish the cake. Ok. Let me say that this is a pretty solid bakery for cakes and other pastries, but this review is mainly for the king cake. I have to look out for my fellow cajun friends. The bakery claimed on a local show that people from Louisiana come in, and say that their king cake is as good as those made by Louisiana bakeries. No way! I decided to try it because of this, and was very very disappointed. The raspberry cream cheese filling was not good at all. Tasted very artificial with way too much cream cheese. It was also not the freshest. It might be good enough for a Texan, but again if you grew up in Louisiana, don't waste your time. Do love your other cakes though! read more
