Before heading out of Albuquerque, NM, back on November 26, 2025, I stopped by the Sprouts Farmers Market in Business Parkway/Academy Acres. Even with the chaos of Thanksgiving quickly approaching I was able to get a decent parking spot, notice the cleanliness and organization of the store, and obtain everything I was searching for. + 2 100% coconut waters = $5 + pumpkin seed kernels (12 oz) = $8.99 + "For Your Liver" shots x 2 = $9 The only setback was my interaction with Nicole at the register. This person was quite the disgruntled little worker that day. They gave me some line about "not my dishes, not my sink." Sprouts Farmers Market is my favorite grocery store right near our home. They have excellent selections of fresh vegetables as well as meat. The best thing I like is that almost everyday there are ready to cook meals (which usually include fresh, crunchy vegetables) that are already very very lightly seasoned and all you have to do is just stir fry on the skilled for usually less than few minutes. Used to come here often for fresh fruits and veggies as well as the meats and seafood. The quality has not been what you would expect even beyond all the Covid related supply issues. Then, to find broccoli by the pound that is more stalk than broccoli makes you wonder if there has been a change in management or if this is our new normal. Let's hope not! This Sprouts is huge! It has everything the SB store does and everyone really nice. What a pleasure to find this on a vacation. This is for this store only (Academy and San Mateo) and it's also an issue with Instacart. We placed an order with Instacart and Sprouts had a pick-up time and day scheduled. A little before we got a notice saying our pick-up time was delayed by an hour. We live an hour south of Albuquerque so it's not a small thing to rearrange for us. But fine, we did our other errands and then waited for the notification that the order was ready. Nothing. We called the store and were put on hold for ten minutes. Hung up and called again. On hold for over five minutes. Finally we went in and were informed no orders were being filled today, no matter what Instant cart said. No apology, and honestly, the manager was really rude to us. I get that it's a stressful time of year, but that's just bad business. Now we have to drive another two hours round trip to get the order tomorrow at a time when time itself is really at a premium and certain things need to be prepared in advance. I was hopeful that ordering like this would be a time saver but it was an awful experience and I definitely won't do it again. Our usual Sprouts store is Lomas and San Mateo and they rock, for the record. Great selection, I know most of the people who work there by name and I always feel at home there. I'm done with Sprouts. I already had noticed quality problems with some of their food. I bought a few packs of frozen fruit the other day on sale to make 8 pudding deserts for family. I unfortunately didn't taste the fruit before putting it in the recipe. When we tried the desert, THE FRUIT WAS COMPLETELY ROTTEN AND RANCID. All these deserts went in the trash, costing me 10x more than the crap fruit. Their open air freezers don't make sense, but this package would have had to be completely thawed and kept at a warm temperature for some time then returned to the bin. I'll never ever go back to this store. It's frighteningly dangerous how they handle foods. I wonder if the health department has been there in a while. read more

I hate that sprouts has good food because they are sooo rude too brown people or people who are not in Yoga pants and have some extra pounds. Everytime I go there the cashiers always look past me and ask the next person in line (usually white) how they were doing and hold a converstation with them when yet I am current customer at the register. But today I think finally drew my line whwre I'll stop coming, so I recently got a new card and havent changed my pin so I am running it as credit, before I could get my full question out the casiher responded in such a rude way. I was asking "this is a new card I dont have my pin I need to run as" which was where I was cut off and told how to run a EBT card. There are so many reasons to love sprouts so let me begin in their oh so decadent bulk section where you can find trail mixes galore and buckets of gummi snacks! I especially enjoy the Abilene gummi bears! An assortment of an orchestra of flavors in these gummies, they blow Haribo out of the water by far!! They have an amazing olive bar and being Italian I can go a little crazy for olives if you know what I mean! In their deli section you can have a made to order sandwich whipped up pretty much any style you can think of! Sprouts is great for the one stop shopping trip too find toiletries and assortments of fine organic household products!! I've been shopping at Sprouts since they opened. I have never come upon such rude, disorganized, disrespectful, lying employees in my life till I started shopping at this particular location. Its ridiculous. They have this attitude problem there. All except for the guy that stocks dairy products and the tall guy with the motorcycle who works the register. All the women who work there are awful. Minus one who has a tattoo of a semicolon on her wrist, shes the only decent woman working there. They constantly have sale signs up, yet when you get rung up at the register, if you dont catch it, you're going to be charged the full cost of the items. I actually had this happen twice. The last time it happened I called the store and asked the woman to please check a price for me, when she confirmed the sale price that they overcharged me for, I let her know that I had a receipt and was overcharged, she said come in and they'll pay me the difference, when I came back the next morning the woman LIED to my face and told me that when I spoke to her on the phone she told me the non sale price! Well, why the hell would I bother to come all the way back? Unbelievable. The other time they also told me to come in and they'll correct the mistake, a woman barely glanced at the item I had from across the room and said that those were not the ones on sale at clearance, yet if it wasn't, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place! With a huge line behind me theres no way I was going to stand there and argue. Another pet peeve about this particular location, is if you buy any of their lotions or creams, aromatherapy oils or perfumes...make sure they havent been sitting on the shelves so long that they're rancid or the oils have lost the majority of their potency and fragrance. This has happened 3 times. Not sure if these people are not putting sale prices into the registers or they just don't and expect the customer to catch their over-charging every single fn time. Oh and if you or someone you know is in a position where they have to rely on food stamps, dont bother shopping here unless you want to have them roll their eyes and give you foul looks when you use it to pay. I honestly hope that one day they might need to use them. My cousin who was in a horrific accident and now suffers from seizures at least 5x out of the week and cannot walk or stand, lift push pull etc without pain, has endured the bs attitude from these old bats at the register and the younger holier than thou twat. This place is hilarious..to see their attitude as if they work at a Channel boutique. These hayseed bitches who somewhere along the line probably have one of those incestuous relationship offspring in their family tree think they're the shit. It may have been six months since I was here last. It's further north in the city and it takes two buses to get there. I decided to go just to pick up a few items not available in the other stores I shop. When I walked in, a manager and an employee walked past me, looked at me, and didn't smile; didn't say good morning; didn't say "Welcome to Sprouts". Nothing. As I shopped, I must have passed at least eight employees. Only two said 'Good morning". The others looked at me and just kept on going. Some of the items on the shelves had no price tags. I was looking at blueberry muffins, and there was no price. I stopped an employee, who said they must be the same price as the nearby bagels, which were 99¢. When I checked out, they were $1.19 each. Just a disappointing experience, and I see no reason to go back. read more

I'm a Sr on a walker & have shopped there often in spite of relatively poor service compared to other food stores. Today was the last straw. they supposed to wear masks or not? One cashier was pulling hers down to eat and drink while serving customers. I had to to check out with one who had her nose exposed, and I'm struggling to put my bags in my walker bag, and one dropped on the floor. The bagger didn't offer to help until I practically had to yell at him to help me. Sprouts has been remodeled and it is better than ever!!! I've been a fans of sprouts for some time, I find that they tend to be less than Trader Joe's and Whole Foods and. Have a great many things I look for in a grocery store and that seem cleaner and better stocked that Albertsons or Smith's. And since they have remodeled they are even more amazing!!!! Out of the 3 Sprounts I frequent in town, this is my favorite because of their better overall customer service; out of all cashiers, Mr. Larry is my favorite. I think the younger staff of the Sprounts in Four Hills neighborhood should come here and be trained by him to observe "Mr. Miyagi" in action. I really do love Sprouts. I go to two locations - the one over by Cottonwood off Alameda, and the one on San Mateo. The place is kind of quirky, but in a pleasant way if you are able to slow your roll and enjoy it. Other reviews are correct about expiration dates, so be vigilant. Things I love: the bulk foods, rices, oats, grains, lentils, beans, granola, candy candy candy (in moderation, yeah, right!); the produce, the twinkle ding dong herbal stuff that only works if you believe in magic but it smells fabulous so why not use it anyway; so much more. The guys at the meat counter are super helpful and never give me grief for buying such small quantities (one link? only one link? well okay ...). I also love the experience of this market. I like people who are different, and folks who are likely to shop in Sprouts don't walk the beaten path. I see lots of characters in there, and sometimes I have fun with them, like when a song I love came on the speakers and I started singing quietly and an older gentleman encouraged me to belt it out, and I did, and so did he. It was awesome. I like to work out at UFC Gym over there on San Mateo then run into Sprouts after to grab a sushi and coconut water - excellent post workout nutrition, by the way - and the last time I did that I got into a great conversation with an employee about how cool spiders are. Who doesn't love Sprouts. The options in ABQ are fairly limited and a real stand out is Sprouts. They have tons of fresh produce and organic products. Shopping the isles you won't find everything you are looking for but that's probably because it's over processed and really not a great option. Wednesdays the ads overlap so almost ever piece of procure is on sale and your sale options on meat are impressive. Wednesdays and weekends gut busy but thats just about everywhere. This particular Sprouts has pretty good parking and the lines seem smaller than some of the others in the city. They also have green chile roasting this time of year! read more

My previous post was for SUNFLOWER not Sprouts. But...Sprouts is a pretty decent market too. Sometimes they run low on produce, but their excellent meat section more than makes up for it. Great selection and you really save some serious CASH shopping for meat here. I have also picked up a couple sushi box lunches/dinner....and they are actually pretty good for supermarket sushi. I LOVED Sunflower. For years I'd drive out to Coralles to shop for inexpensive, fresh, healthy food. I liked that I could get staples in bulk without paying co-op or Whole Paycheck (Foods) prices. When they opened the location at Lomas & San Mateo, life was good for years. Great beer & wine selection, too. The parking lot can be a bit hectic and they seem much less capable of handling rush-hour traffic than, say, Smiths. However if you just avoid going between 5-7 you should be fine. Recently they've been bought by "Sprouts". I'm waiting to see how this goes, but the conversion has not been pretty. Many of the items I was able to find without thinking have disappeared. Their replacements have seemed more "Walmart" than "Co-op". We'll see how it all pans out, but they've lost a star in my book just for the sloppy conversion. read more
