I visited on 2-7-2026. I like this grocery store because they have more of a choice for chicken. They have baked chicken which I like and I get because it is delicious and moist.. They also have Rotisserie chicken I never tried it so I can't tell you how it is. This was my first time seeing it's available at this location. The baked chicken choice is usually bbq or herb which both taste good. Definitely worth the trip pull up and check them out. A lot of other places I go fried chicken is everywhere. read more

Not sure why there are so many 1 and 2 star reviews. The food is fresh and the employees are great. We have multiple Krogers and Publix around us, but this is the only place I go for fresh produce. They have enough of the aisle-type food as well and a lot of health stuff (supplements and food). Their staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. This is the kind of place where they put down what they're doing to help you find what you're looking for. If they're out of something - ask, and they'll check the back - I've only needed to do this once but it worked! Super kind people. Fresh food. This is the truth. Most of the decent food at Sprouts is in the frozen foods section. If you're a fresh food girlie, this place has rotten food. Mold. Rotten; especially the produce. Also pantry items, I've gotten rotten olives in a jar from the Sprouts on Blackmon Rd in Decatur, GA. Just tonight, my son and I were opening a package of 'specialty corn', guess what, rotten. By far my favorite store to do groceries. I can find everything I need under one roof, organic staples, cosmetics, wellness products, deli, dairy and produce. You can never regret their quality of produce and the brands they carry. The store is always neat and well maintained. The service is great and fast. They also offer sandwiches which is great for a Togo lunch. I'm also very impressed with their take home meals and pizza variety. Paid $30 for 3 small snapper filets. They appeared fresh. They smelled overly fishy when I got home. I fthem immediately upon arriving home within 20 minutes. A couple days later I thawed and sauteed them. The smell was worse after cooking. I used a fork to separate a piece. The meat was dry and coarse. I tasted a small bite and almost gagged. I felt especially compelled to talk about the abundance of gluten free products available at this location. I'll review just a few of my favorite snacks. We'll start with Freedom gluten-free donuts...apple cider, glazed old fashioned and devils. These are the best store bought gluten free donuts I've tasted. They taste like real donuts! Katz gluten free donuts come in at a close second for taste, but are tad bit too sweet. Nairn's gluten-free oat graham's are a perfect snack with peanut butter. They are nut free and resemble regular graham crackers. They come in original, chocolate chip and ginger. This was the first time I'd tried the ginger flavor and I was not disappointed. They are packaged in serving sizes, so they are nice to travel with, too, especially if you don't know when or where your next gluten free meal/snack will be. Jolly Llama mango pops and gluten-free dairy free cones definitely don't lack taste. The mango pops taste just like fresh fruit. The cones have some of the best tasting dairy free ice cream around. The creamy texture is pretty close to regular ice cream. And last, but not least the cotton candy grapes are my favorite grape. Yes, fresh grapes that tast like cotton candy!!!! read more

This was my first visit to a Sprouts Farmers Market and it's pretty much a Whole Foods competitor. I can't say I prefer one brand over the other. They're both good if you're looking for higher quality, all-natural, organic, healthy, and unique groceries. Pricing, to me, between Sprouts and Whole Foods seemed generally comparable. This is Sprouts store number 525 and it opened in March 2017 in North Decatur. It's in a relatively new development with First Watch and Tiff's Treats. Currently, there are about 15 Sprouts stores throughout metro Atlanta. Unlike Whole Foods which has an "upscale" and, in the case of the newer stores, more modern aesthetic, Sprouts' design looks more humble and farm-inspired, from wooden barrels to "rusted" looking tin roofs. Like Whole Foods, they have a salad bar ($7.99/lb), olive bar ($8.99/lb), sandwich and juice bar, fresh-made sushi, butchers, and more. We were just across the street at Walmart and some of the produce selection there, specifically the kale and asparagus, was sad. The kale, and other vegetables in general, looked so much better here. They were much more colorful and vibrant. The organic mustard greens were super green. We picked up some bunches of organic green kale for $0.99 per bunch. Not only was the asparagus here cheaper than Walmart, but it was better quality. We also picked up a box of organic strawberries for $3.98 and a 1/2 pint of blueberries (not organic) for only $1.67. Everything tasted great. Other stuff we got was vanilla honey Greek yogurt ($3.99) and cherry vanilla granola from their bulk section for $8.99 per pound. Their bulk section is cool because they have many foods you can scoop into a bag or container, priced by the pound. They had several different varieties of granola and oatmeal ($0.99-1.29/lb) and even sugar and spices like turbinado sugar ($1.99/lb) and Himalayan sea salt ($3.49/lb). You can ask for free samples. They have a sizable coffee inventory where you can grind and bag your own beans for $9.99 or $10.99/lb. We got a bag of the medium roast Organic Sprouts Blend ($10.99/lb). They have helpful taste/aroma descriptor cards for each house coffee to help you make your decision. You can also sample the brewed coffee in the dispenser. We wanted to get a fresh juice blend at the juice and sandwich counter on our way out, but their juice machine was down. That was disappointing. I think that Spriut's is generally touted as a store that offers a great selection of clean foods for lower prices, but recently as I have shopped here I would say the prices are pretty on par with those at Whole Foods. They're not necessarily "budget friendly"! If I were to recommend somewhere local with better pricing and still with great selection, I might recommend someone to instead shop at Trader Joe's or your Dekalb Farmer's Market. If sprouts is just the option closest to you though, the food does seem to be fresh and the customer service is great. This is the very first Sprouts Farmers Market I've been to. I'm familiar with Earth Fare, and I'd say Sprouts is kinda like Earth Fare. Don't tell anyone, but sometimes I get the two healthy grocery chains confused. Sprouts started in 2002 in Arizona and now has roughly 250 stores in 15 states. This Decatur Sprouts is pretty nice and clean since it opened fairly recently and is in a brand-new standalone building. Unlike most grocery stores, you're greeted by the health and beauty section upon entering, while produce is in the middle back of the store. Regarding pricing, some of the costs aren't too bad if you stick to the Sprouts-branded stuff, look for items on sale, and use coupons. Sprouts has a printed coupon booklet and does some sort of electronic coupon system too. The bulk section featured bins full of intriguing items, but it can get congested and cramped due to its popularity. The yogurt section is truly impressive. So many brands, flavors, and kinds! The produce looks vibrant and appealing. It's nifty how the receipt is printing on both sides and how your purchases are broken down into categories. There's also a tiny credit if you bring your own reusable shopping bag. The employees seemed happy and ready to help out if needed. read more
