Circling the drain!! I've been coming here for over 20 years and I've witnessed the prices go up but the amenities go down. They really haven't done much improvement to the sites except basic maintenance. Previously , they had Sunday church services and coffee and donuts on Saturday mornings, and a beautifully maintained crystal clear pond with lots of large trout. It's now a sludge puddle with few fishes and less trees. I came to love this place but it's being run down way too much. The people are great, and I appreciate the trash pickups every day from our site, but it's just not as lovely as it used to be. The ridiculous fire pit by the playground is rarely used by anyone and they've gotten rid of the community events and fun games. It's location is great which is one of the reasons we come here. But since the change to the RMNP entry schedule, the construction everywhere and loss of businesses, it's become tedious. It would be much more attractive if the concentrated beautification they pour into their office area was applied throughout the facility. It's boring and looks old and unloved. Last week I did the worst thing I have ever done: Tried to pick up my kids from Spruce Lake RV Park. I confess, my crime came from ignorance, but that's no excuse. I should not have tried to get my kids for dinner, or at least I should not have done so without studying up on Spruce Lake RV Park's rules. At least then I could have prevented myself from bestowing the absolutely devastating trauma I brought onto the poor owner and staff member of this park. They would not have been forced to yell at me at the top of their lungs, threaten to call the police and insist that I wait, standing, in the middle of their vehicle pathway instead of sitting down on a nearby bench as they went to berate my in-laws for my actions. This RV park, you see, has a very strict rule that all visitors must check in at the office and pay a fee upon entering. This is not, as I assumed, a fee for parking or for bringing in a vehicle -- it is a fee for ENTERING the park, on foot, by parachute, via tunnel or by any other means. If you come into their park, they expect payment for each individual person entering, including young children, and they expect it for each day you come in. My in-laws had stayed at the park for two previous years before this happened, and the first time my wife and I went to visit their trailer at the park we saw the sign and stopped into the office to check in. The clerk seemed surprised that we had actually stopped in and did not charge us anything. We got the impression that this was not something the RV park really cared about, and perhaps the sign was there for legal purposes. So on subsequent visits we simply drove past the sign, visited my wife's parents and left. I am so sorry that I assumed this was ok. Judging by the reaction of the RV park owner and staff member, trying to pick up my children to bring them to dinner makes me absolute scum, a despicable criminal worthy only of contempt. As I tried to clarify to the owner and his employee what I was doing in the park and clarify the rules with them in a very calm manner, they treated me as the disgusting monster I am by yelling over me, refusing to listen to a word I said and telling me over and over again that they didn't care about what I was saying. If they had listened to me, maybe they could have corrected me when I told them I planned on parking my car outside the park and walking in to retrieve my children, which I now know does nothing to erase my obligation to pay the entry fee. It was all deserved. I asked them for their names. Since I was clearly in the wrong and they "don't care about reviews," I wanted to apologize to them publicly by name. But they didn't want to give me their names for some reason, despite telling me that I was the one who broke the rules and therefore nobody would listen to me. All I can say to anybody planning to stay at this RV park is that if you plan on having any guests visit you, DON'T RISK STAYING HERE. By doing so you may be delivering even more trauma onto the owner and staff of the park. You could pay a fee for each person entering the park for any length of time for any reason, but why chance it? read more

We had high expectations, but were very disappointed in this campground. The pool was nice, but Putt Putt was not well- maintained and was only open until 5:00 pm. Most of the staff was very friendly. They had very strict rules, which has pros and cons. Campsites are very small and close together, and no shade. Shade canopies are not allowed. When we arrived they changed our campsite, we didn't get the one we had reserved. The website advertised "other activities", but the activity building was locked and made into a storage room. Campfires were not allowed. My grandkids had a good time because of the pool, but we cancelled our reservation for next month with our other grandkids. Unfortunately your 50% deposit is not refundable. Most campgrounds only charge $20 to cancel. It was a very expensive campground, for the amenities they offer. read more

We love this place! Nice park & people. But the best thing is it's just a little walk over the bridge to 2 excellent restaurants, plus lots of other options nearby without needing a car. Great big convenience store and great clothes store right there too. And the free shuttle that goes downtown stops right outside the store. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE!!! For starters, they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING!! $5 extra per kid per day. So my 2 kids made my already overpriced site ($73) even worse. Even if you opt for not getting a full hookup, the price is still the same. $10 extra per person per day to fish (2max) and it's not catch and release. I don't eat fish and they only want the experience, not the results. But it's a rule here. Need to dump before you leave? That's another $15. I have never stayed at a campground that charges extra for dump station use. $25 to check in early which I really had no choice but to pay because of how they parked us when we got here and even so, the entrance isn't wide enough to turn around with a trailer. This place is nothing more than an expensive dirt lot. The sites are mostly level BUT they are wide open and there is zero privacy. There aren't even individual fire rings and the community fire pit is nothing more than them adding a handful of charcoal briquettes and calling it a fire. The roads are narrow and even on the pull through, you're blocking traffic. There are no dumpsters either and I don't know when they stop picking up trash they advertise as a benefit, but dinner trash is stuck with you until the next morning. This place seems like it's run by the get off my lawn brigade. They yelled at my kid and another boy for catching minnows with a bent, examining them, and putting them back in the pond. I have no idea why as I was informed well after the fact. Seriously, every employee is a retiree or at least that age. The women at the check in seemed nice, but the men driving around in golf carts I found rude. The store is empty. The pool is closed. The views are great but interrupted by neighbors. There is no tranquility here which is exactly why we decided to try camping in Estes Park. Don't stop here. Find read more

I guess 2 stars is about right. It's a nice place in a good location. Stay away from the FHU sites because your picnic table will be 6 feet from your neighbors open sewer. They jam RVs in kinda of a strange parking configuration and it really seems like someone is walking thru your spot all the time. Overpriced, sites are tiny and not level, supposedly heated pool is ice cold. Large rigs placed in sites that are too small make driving hazardous. Yes, you can fish in the tiny pond, but it will cost you $15 per person per day. There are so many better places to stay around here than this. Pick somewhere else, anywhere else! read more

Overall, this was a great spot for our party of two. Spots are very close together, but as we were out hiking most of the time it didn't matter. We just sat at the river when we were at camp! Facilities were clean, staff was friendly. Only complaint is the price, but even that was comparable to other RV parks in the area. read more

A great park right along the Big Thompson River in Estes Park. The sites in the park are dirt and organized with most being back in. There is a small grass area with a picnic table next to each site. There are not many trees in the park, so satellite service will work in most sites. The park had reasonable bathrooms and showers along with a fishing pond and playground area by the pond. The wifi worked fine and they had cable service that worked great. The only downside for us at the park is that they don't accept mail for their visitors. I stayed 3 nights at Spruce Lake. The bathrooms are clean, the sites are level and the staff was helpful. The price was about $70/night. Unfortunately this place wants to nickel and dime you for every little thing. I had to pay $15 extra to park my car that fit in my campsite. My car didn't take up any additional space in the park. You have to pay if you want to wash your RV, use the dump station or fish in the pond (limit 2 fish). This place also has tons of random rules posted everywhere. I get it; rules are important but people want to be able to relax. read more

These guys have horrible customer service. We ended up having to cancel our trip due to some health issues that my mother in law was having. Our reservation has 6 months away, they will easily fill the spot, but refused to refund our initial deposit of over $300. I understand a $10 or $20 cancellation fee, but not refunding any of the 50% deposit is ridiculous. I will never stay here and advise that you not make reservations here simply due to this horrible policy....especially with COVID and all that is going on! read more

We have stayed at the Spruce Lake campground for several years. We usually have a great time and meet wonderful people from around the states. This year was an exception! We had a great stay going when in the middle of our week here, 2 different rigs pulled in and straddled 2 different sites coming within 5' of us, blocking our view and totally ruining our camping experience. We complained to the office and they said it was a "buddy site". Even though per their advertising and Colorado RV Park codes there should be a clearance of 10' between rigs and only 1 RV per site! (I would think this would be due to fire regulations and the comfort of your customers who have been visiting for years), but, NO, they allow it! Beware of this practice at this campground! Even though you may pay $100 a night for this site, you may only have a view of a ugly grey camper...as we did!!!! read more

Not sure we would stay here again. When I called to make the reservation I was told we would have a spot by the river which is just what I wanted! Upon arrival we were put in spots that were right against a hill to the south (for anyone with knowledge, the south angle is a big one for your satellite to work). Plus this row of spots had a bear get into six cars the night before so with all the other spots available you would have thought they would put us in different spots to give the bear some space. Check-in was fine and friendly. They guy that drives you to the spot in his golf cart needs to real people skills training, extremely rude and he alone could be a reason why I would not stay here again. Front office could be more efficient. Spaces are pretty tight and Rvs are big so views out your window can be instructed unless you have a good spot. 90 degrees out yesterday and the pool is closed. Can't go in the pond. Jury is out on the convenience of the location and comparison to other campgrounds and there are plenty around. Store doesn't have supplies... At all except a few chemicals for an rv and a few stuffed animals. There is a store a block away though with pretty much everything you need but they don't sell wine and alcohol. A liquor and wine store next door to that but prices are 2x what you'd pay in lower elevations because, as the guy told me, they have to double the prices to make up for the seasons. We were in a group of 13 coaches for a 4 night stay. Unfortunately the night before we were to leave we discovered our RV wouldn't start. Although the tow truck was supposed to arrive at 9am, they were delayed until after 4. Even though the park was half full, they charged us an extra day. I felt they definitely took advantage of our situation when it was unnecessary. Our group(s) won't be returning. read more

This was our fourth time staying here in the past six years in our fifth wheel. Most noticeable has been a dramatic increase in the fees over the past six years and a lack of improvements to match. The WiFi is nearly nonexistent, cable TV is awful and perhaps the biggest insult was when I called a local RV repair service to come out and make a few minor inside repairs to my trailer, and upon his arrival, he was met by an employee who told him that no outside repair services were allowed unless a fee was paid to the park. Huh? Clearly this place has become only interested in gouging people for money! Too many other options for RV parking in Estes Park ... will not return. read more

I wanted to wait until my second visit here. The first visit was really nice, it was last spot available so I didn't complain because I had waited to reserve. Most spots are roomy enough for any trailer, but a lot of them are back-ins. Their bathrooms are nice and clean, the park is nice and clean with the exception of dog poop in abundance around the lake because people are too lazy to walk to the designated dog runs with bags and trash cans. The park would be REALLY exceptional if it were not for the staff. They can be very friendly and helpful, as long as you do not need anything or cause any issues or complain, even if you are nice. The first time I was there they were sweet as pie and when I left I wanted to come back - so I walked out and they told me of a few good spots to go look at for coming back later in the month. So I literally took an HOUR walking around, driving and checking out all of the cool spots that I could reserve - yes I said they said I could 'reserve' a spot. SO i found the perfect spot and it was open - far in advance. I asked 3 times, okay so I get this spot correct? I asked, because on their fine print it says "reserved spots cannot be guaranteed" - I thought this was strange so I asked - because it was so far in advance - I did not think I had a problem. Fast forward to camp night and I pull in and the office is closed and i get my little packet that says I am in a completely different spot, and mine is occupied by someone else. I was really upset, as this was our last trip out, the weather was nice and I wanted to have a great spot. Nope. Didn't happen and we were shoved next to a cabin. I called them and left them a message that night, asking that they call me back - absolutely no return phone call. The next day they were open but by that time I was upset and did not want to face them. My husband went in and let them know and another lady was in there with the SAME ISSUE! the staff male ignored the both of them. Here is my suggestion to this establishment. IF you want a decent run business, you MUST talk to your customers. Yes, they are customers, they are not kids you tell what to do and then ignore them. I understand you probably deal with a lot of fun people at a camp ground, but the most of us are very kind, nice people who spent a lot of money to camp here (your RV park is 30% higher than any other park up here @ over $70 a night for full hook up). It is very rude not to even reply to people when they are upset. First and foremost, TELL THEM at the time they are calling or IN PERSON like I was, reserving a spot!! TELL them they may not get that spot, as you do not guarantee ANY OF THEM! Don't tell them "it's yours!" on the way out the door. I won't be back because of this - it is sad because I actually liked the location. You are losing customers and it is simply because you do not have the customer service skills necessary to run it. Now I know why there was a spot available on Labor Day weekend! Also, every other RV park we have reserved, you are able to reserve the spot, and it is yours - whether you show or not because you paid for it. You should at minimum give that to your customers - if someone comes in earlier check in than the one who reserved the spot, you don't give them someone else's spot because they had a bigger rig - it is their bad for not reserving in the first place. Very bad. You are trying to make more money on shuffling people around to smaller spots so you can fit the people who want in last minute. poor business. read more

The RV park was very expensive for what you get. $59 for water and electric and what is strange is it was the same price for full service site with sewer. There's hardly any trees and your side-by-side with everyone with no privacy. They have a lot of rules throughout the whole campsite like you're in a Strict camp. Your not allowed to have any campfires and the campfire you can have is on the weekends and in a communal area. The hot tub it is more of a bathtub, it's not hot at all if I were to guess it's probably 90° I'm used to 102 to 104. I would not recommend this place at all to any of my family or friends read more

AVOID THIS PARK. Wish I could give it no stars at all. Very unethical park, the same guy owns elk meadows too so I'm sure it is the same. False advertising on a lot at this park. First, There is NO HOT TUB! it's cold. The owner said he can't afford to heat it above 95. My husband and I tried to get it and it was at 87. That is just cold. When I reserved I specifically asked about the hot tub and was told it was up and running, they just didn't say for what hours and what temp they keep it at. When we tried to leave they said they are keep the money for the entire trip we reserved because they could have otherwise rented our site. There are only 10 other paying customers here! That makes no sense, it is an unethical practice that I have never seen at any other park. Now I get to spend my vacation disputing a claim with my credit card. The sites are small and muddy, weeds, not grass and no trees on 95% of the sites. They had us crammed into a tiny little spot that we shad with electrical boxes and a telephone pole even when the park was mostly empty. Trying to move to another spot took quite an effort. The staff is friendly enough they seemed to genuinely feel bad, but they couldn't help. read more

Our stay date: September 19-21 2014. Not sure all of these bad reviews are fair. We camp with a 25" airstream. Our spot was wide enough to allow for our RV, Ford F150 and enough space to set up comfortably outside. I certainly never noticed my neighbours left to right. The spots are not deep, so, I saw the neighbors behind us all the time. Our spot had a walk way for other campers to pass through on one side. It was slightly annoying. Biggest annoyance is that the "streets" weren't that deep making it hard to park our RV and hitch back up. Pros: - quick drive to town, National park and walking distance to some restaurants. - nice views of mountains - well monitored by staff - allows dogs (see my note in cons) - shower facilities are nice -lots of cable tv channels - provide picnic table at each spot. Cons: - value for the price wasn't there. All of the an entities were closed. - if it's full, hard to park your RV - while they allow dogs, they have breed restrictions and only allow you to bring your pups to one small grass area. We wanted to sit around the lake with our boys but couldn't. - NO paving.sand/small rocks everywhere meaning I was always cleaning the RV - No refunds. I wanted to book surgery on the date we had booked but they wouldn't let us cancel (didn't feel like camping up in Estes after the last day of summer.) that's a shitty policy. Overall, we were fine. It wasn't worth the money. We did think we'd be getting fun amenities like mini golf--- hahaha! Weren't allowed to use other property facilities with our dogs. BUT- it's clean. The spots are wide and we likes the location. Certainly looked nicer than other parka we saw. read more

I've stayed at this park 3-4 times over the last 5 years. It does have all the amenities, but having said that it's not what it use to be. Wifi is better, but not spectacular. The dust is problem. They use to com thru with a water wagon once or twice a day to keep the dust at bay. The dirt interior drives is sandy based affair which easily tracks into your RV. Cable TV is good. My drain (sewer) over flowed twice due to previous owners deposits... There is stocked trout pond. Expensive at $8 per day per person. I payed $70/day as mentioned with half up front at time of reservation..*** No refunds.. I too do not like this policy. The park is understafffed an 4 people quit the day before I departed because they refused to clean the few onsite rental cabins.. The staffers were polite for the most part, but I sensed a difficult relationship with management.. All and all its so-so park. P.S. Laundry room small..always one or two washers / dryers in disrepair. Park needs some loving care before I would return. read more

We stayed at Spruce Lake RV Park recently, and while the location is great - it's close to the RMNP entrance - we did not feel that it was not a very good value. The cabins are $168 a night and are very bare bones. They let you know that you need to bring linens, but there were not even pillows and the kitchen was bare - no stove, just a very small refrigerator (although a BBQ was provided). So if you wanted to eat in at all, you would need to travel with plates, cups, silverware, cooking equipment... along with all of your linens, pillows, towels, etc. Just not a great value for the money and especially not realistic if you are not driving to the location so that you could bring everything you would need. Our party also had and RV site and we agree with the other reviews that the price is too high for what you get and that the staff was not overly friendly. Our RV site was particularly muddy, because there is very little grass, and the sites are very close together. We listened to our neighbor's dog bark for hours and could smell cigarette smoke from the next site if we opened our windows. We enjoyed the location, but saw other properties in the area that would have been a better value for the money. That said, we had already planned for another stop on our trip at Dakota Ridge RV Resort in Golden, which is operated by the same company, and that park is much nicer with much friendlier staff. We were very pleased with the Golden location. read more

We just spent 3 days here for our family Father's Day trip. We had a motor home, a pop up camper, and a cabin. My son and his wife were very comfortable in the cabin which was directly across from our 2 rv sites along the river. It was lovely. The staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. Loved the mini golf and pool. It was disappointing that we couldn't have a campfire for s'mores hence not 5 stars. Would definitely recommend and stay again. read more

Currently at Spruce Lake RV Resort, Estes Park, CO. Am disappointed with the way fellow campers disregard the speed limits within the campground. I believe the 5-7 MPH limit is for dust control and the numerous children on site. The dust created by those individuals speeding sometimes just settles on campers enjoying an outside meal. It must be said that the resort staff zip around the facility at speeds approaching 20 MPH in their golf carts and they create just as much, if not more dust than a full size vehicle. Evidently it's more of a do as I say and not as I do. Just 1 star for this issue. read more

If I could give this less stars I would. The staff was great. The owner was the problem. They had concerns about our RV being a conversion. It's not. Just old and its a toterhome so it looks different. We were trying to have a basic discussion with him, he was rude right off the bat. Told us that he didn't allow RV's in his RV park and told us to go find a trailer park. Drove all the way here from Minnesota to stay with my family. He threatened to call the cops on us not even into a minute into our discussion. We were neither heated nor rude. Can't believe this guy even has customer's the way he treats and talks to them. We knew there was a non-refundable fee at time of reservation. However considering the current situation in our country, we believe a refund should have been offered. Instead, there was an offer to spend MORE money to change dates or even more to postpone a year and place $$ in escrow!!!! We arrived at Spruce Lake with a completely open mind after reading all of the negative reviews on Yelp. We thought that we would not encounter any issues, we are two quiet folks, no kids and do not create any issues anywhere. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a lack of enthusiasm that we are usually used to and thought that to be a bit odd since it is early in the season but didn't really give it much thought. We waited for about 10 minutes to get escorted to our site which we could see from the office but as we always follow procedures, just waited until the fellow ready to lead us to our site. All great the first two nights and a wonderful location so close to the NP entrance. Not a wonderful looking place, just needs a little love and it could be cute once more I am sure...and needs someone to care. The issue I ran into and have never in my 30 years of RVing is that I had arranged for a Mobile RV Repair Service to stop by on Friday as I needed an air conditioner replaced. I had read the parks entire website with every rule and did as well the arrival literature after we got setup, nothing about the fact that the did not allow ANY RV Repair done in their park UNLESS it was their own guy. My new A/C set in the repairman's truck as we tried to find a solution but none could be found and they were unwilling to bend any unknown and unpublished rule that stated that they did not allow RV repair done. The only suggestion was to pack up, hook up and go around the corner to a super market and have the new $1,800 air conditioner installed there with no power and in a parking lot owned by the super market...how crazy!! So, after finding no solution I asked if the repairman would refund my money for the A/C and I would have to try and get this all organized again at another RV Park...and that is where we left it. Needless to say, I am leaving tomorrow, one day early with a terrible taste in my mouth and would never recommend anyone to come to Spruce Lake RV Park when in Estes Park.....such a shame really but beware if you come here and make sure you take ALL of these review serious because I now believe they are. read more

The owners of this campground refused to refund my deposit after I was notified that the state of Colorado is asking visitors to stay home due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I am honoring this request by the state. The other 2 campgrounds we were staying at refunded my money, even one called to ask if I would like to cancel (this is when I found out about the states request) with e full refund of my deposit. My Son is in the Army and stationed at Fort Carson, Co. This trip was to visit him and see the state before he deploys in July. Spruce lake offered to move my reservation to another date for a fee. Really???? I would discourage anyone from making a reservation here or the other 2 campgrounds, Elk Meadow or Dakota Ridge. read more

This park got some bad reviews in the past but we stayed here the last week of September 2017 (34 ft Class A motorhome) and had a great experience. The park is clean and well maintained. The sites are staggered so even though they are on the smaller side you still have adequate room out front. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The views are beautiful and if you have dogs the dog walk is right along the river which is pretty neat. We would stay here again but I'm not sure I can talk my fiance into driving the RV up the mountain again haha!! read more

I have camped Spruce Lake RV resort for the past 4 years. It seems each year the thought or need for customer service is lacking. The retirees are very pleasant  and helpful however management was not. We got the "whatever" attitude. If the services paid for are not available during your stay, you will be given the option to pack up and leave, with no consideration for your family and vacation, all while no refund of any deposit or fees. The resort then fills your spot with another customer who will have the same problems while being charged the resort fees. With friends we had 3 sites this last reservation. Each of us paid for full hook up, $218.69 for 3 nights= $72.90 a night a piece. Pretty pricey for camping however that was not our problem. If you pay for a service, you should receive a service, if the service is broken, you should be accommodated and or refunded for the service paid but not received. We were told if we left that night, our last night, we would get that night refunded and nothing else.  I asked what about the last 2 nights/days without the services we paid for? When the problem was presented to the camp office, we were told they already knew about the problem. So why did they have us set up camp in this site? On our 3rd day at the site we were offered to move sites, however, by listening to other campers they had issues with their electricity tripping their breakers too but at least theirs could be reset.  So the hassle of the move would not guarantee us electricity. Also, our friends did not have a tow truck for the day as she was called into work/hospital on emergency and we planned a fun outdoor excursion in the Rocky Mountains and un-hooking, packing up and moving RVs and sites would be time consuming and take away from the purpose of us being in Estes. We planned our meals using devices needing electricity. If we knew we would not have electricity we would have planned our meals accordingly or brought our generator. We decided to make the most of it. We went into town, bought more food items not needing electricity to prepare and decided we were going to enjoy the pool and hot tub after a long day, however, on the pool fence was a "The Pool is Closed For Repair" sign. I can see if we were asking for a full refund. We were not. We were asking for a refund of the services not received, some kind of accommodation and for the owners of the campsite to be accountable for their resort and lack of services. Possible solutions or suggestions that would made customer relations better: refund partial payment, offer free fishing or other electrical options  to our site. Instead we were treated as if we were the ones with the problem. Also for those considering this campground, there are extra fees. If you want to fish the cost is 10.50 a day per person with a 2 fish minimum whether you catch fish or not. If you need to dump there is an extra $15 fee Wifi-I got better service using my provider with wifi turned off. Also beware, you are asked for 50% deposit for your stay. If you need to cancel, no matter how far out or what the emergency, you WILL NOT receive a refund. This campground is not of resort calibur.  On a positive note it is nice to see the pond is stocked, the retirees are pleasant, the grounds are clean and as with any area in Estes, the backdrop is beautiful. Unfortunately, will not return to this campground simply due to bad service and management. Frankly, management and CFO just do not care about their customers. read more

First, let me give you the context for which I am reviewing this park. I routinely camp in the National Forests and my definition of a good campground is one where there is beautiful scenery, space between you and your neighbors and no one to pester you while you enjoy the scenery. If this is what you are looking for, this is NOT the campground for you. This campground places each camper right next to their neighbors -- no space in between with trees, etc. This is my biggest complaint about the park. If this doesn't bother you at all, you probably will like this park. When we arrived, someone helped us to our site and helped us back in. This is out of necessity since the sites are next to everyone, you really have to have someone back you in. There are no pull-through sites, they are all back-to-back and side-to-side so you have neighbors on your left, right and back. Once we parked, we had sewer, water, electric, and cable. All were in working order. The sewer is at the rear of the site rather then the side, so most will need a sewer extension unless their sewer is at the rear of the rig. It would also be helpful to have one of the supports that slowly decreases in height. The laundry room has six or so washers and 8 or so dryers. Everything seemed to work -- we used 4/4 of each. One dryer didn't dry real well so after one dry load, we switched to another dryer. The restrooms are clean and well kept. They have shower stalls that looked nice, but we showered in our trailer. We had an issue with noise early in the morning. The night we stayed, someone was hooking up their rig with a diesel at 5AM so we got to listen to 15min of diesel idle at 5AM. With no space between sites, you hear a lot of the campground's activities. Finally, we saw that the price online was $51 for AAA/Good Sam members. What we ended up paying was over $70 a night because we were nickled and dimed for people ($5 for each person), etc. The proximity to RMNP is great. All in all, if you don't mind being right next to your neighbor and you don't care about scenery, this is a great place to be, if not overly priced. If you are expecting to be "camping" in the woods with real scenery and separation from your neighbors, this is not the park for you. read more

Not what it appears from website. May be ok as a base for adventures in the area, but without a car this was not possible. The website indicates there is a shuttle, but apparently not available when we were there. Park is very dusty and somewhat rundown with lots of "Do Not..." Signs. Campfires not permitted. Not a good place to camp, ok as an overnight base. Pricey compared to the excellent state parks in Colorado. read more

ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE customer service! Nothing was as they specified on website or phone. We didn't stay or even unhook camper from truck. Pool was not in service - wood planks holding up inside! No firepit. They wanted our 2 small dogs leashed the entire time and not put in small fence. Several people were driving around 'making sure we were following rules' & we are not difficult people. When we asked for the management's name and/or owner's name, Gloria, at the desk refused to give us anyone's name. My advice - go to Mary's Lake RV! They were amazing! 1.5 miles away! read more

3rd year at this camp ground for Labor Day weekend and it has normally bee a great relaxing place. This time I am told I can't use my Traeger pellet grill/smoker and it's in the rule book. Well, it's not in the rule book. The book says no campfires and no charcoal grills. Then they tell me it's not their rule but that it is a Estes ordnance. Well no, according to the fire department and the Estes information office there is NO problem or current ordnance or restriction for pellet or charcoal anything. When making the personnel at this park aware that they were wrong and the restriction has ended then the y play the this is still private property and we make the rules. This is the last time I will ever come to this park. I even called the campground that backs up to this one, Manor RV, and they even said yes, pellet grills are no issue at all. If you intend to use a smoke I'd suggest you go somewhere else. These people make up the rules as they go with no understanding of what the city's rules are. Fun killer read more
