From really small items to larger. My favorite part is the huge collection of Barbies. What I missed was dolls from all over the world, not just American but I guess this is not as specialized. I had a great time and found the prices were pretty reasonable and the assorted toys are amazing and not being great childhood memories.

I stopped in when they did a drink pop-up for Comic Con and Tokidoki's 20th anniversary. They had the table at the front with the drink vendor and it was quiet with no line. The shop had exclusive items for Tokidoki's 20th so I bought a tee from them as well. Regarding parking, usually you can rely on street parking or might be able to find a lot where you pay to park.

We had never flown a kite before and when we went, there wasn't much wind, so we weren't sure if we could get a kite up in the air or not. We asked if they offered rentals, and he said that he has loaner kites that we could fly if we wanted at no charge. I thought that was super nice. We were able to get our loaner kite in the air and it was cute to hear families tell their kids to "look at the mermaid in the air!" I was able to make some good memories and spend an idyllic afternoon flying the kite, and I really wanted to support the business so we bought our own kite. It had a duck design and it's super adorable and easy to fly.

Date of visit: July 24, 2024…read more As part of Comic-Con 2024, Now Or Never Comics was participating in the festivities in two ways - by having a raffle for three CGC-rated books with purchase of the most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book... and a free pizza party. AUTOMATIC FIVE-STAR RATING! Okay, besides that, Now or Never is one of the few (if not only) comic book stores in Downtown San Diego. It's actually cleaner and more organized than the ones I frequent, but the relatively small size of the building means they don't have as much in stock as I'd like. Case in point, I wanted to show my appreciation for supporting SDCC by getting a couple of graphic novels of Trese and Usagi Yojimbo, but the ones I wanted weren't in stock. But, given how I was surprised to see a comic book store a few blocks away from the Convention Center, I can see myself probably checking it out again whenever I'm in the area.

There's J-pop and Anisong playing in the store, they hold community events, and there's a wide variety of Gunpla, Gunpla building accessories, other anime figs/goods, blind boxes, etc. Great place to grab a gift for an anime loving fan. I also have to commend the shop for having a really cool custom mural of a Gundam overlooking San Diego. That's how you know that there's some real local love. The only point of comparison that I have with Gunnzo is the older Anime Jungle in LT and that sometimes feels like a TSA line to get in. Great price point comparison. I'm sadly not a huge mecha person and the last fig kits I built were for FGO, but I would definitely stop by again!
