    Blueberry cheesecake (a special)

For starters, I've been coming back to this place often and the food has always hit the spot. The latests time, I got the buffalo tender mac and cheese and the blueberry cheesecake, both from their monthly specials menu, and it was delicious. I had to post this so people go and get the mac before the end of the month... The service is always top notch, even when they get busy. Olivia was serving us and she did a really good job staying on top of our drinks and food order. Didn't feel rushed nor too slow either, perfect pace. The vibe inside is nice too with the music and their little arcade game corner. Olivia can make a mean cold brew martini too which I recommend. Some other times when I have visited, I get the pizzas well done making it more crispy, almost burnt which I personally like. I'm a sucker for the chicken bacon caciatore or however you spell it. Lastly, their happy hour is great including some cheap cheese pizzas and some good drinks too.

Generally a fan of Square Peg and have recently been visiting this newer location before movies at AMC and for trivia. Their happy hour menu is a great value and their pizzas are great, especially the brussel and potato and the jackpot. Just tried a sandwich for the first time, the Hot Honey Eggplant, and it was pretty depressing. $16 for 1 super thin slice of eggplant I couldn't even tell it was eggplant. The tomato on the sandwich was thicker. Super disappointed for that price point. Definitely skip their sandwiches and stick with the pies.

My wife treated me to lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant is bright, clean and inviting. Our server, Olivia, was friendly, helpful and attentive. We decided on the Detroit Pepperoni pizza and an order of the boneless BBQ Wings. The pizza is a thick crust pizza and it lived up to its name. We ordered the eight piece Wings but should have ordered the four piece. They were big and some ended up going home with us. The wings were crunchy and tasty. The pizza came out covered in Pepperoni and dripping with cheese. There was just the right amount of tomato sauce and the crust was about an inch and a half deep. It was soft and flavorful and of course very filling. We ended up taking half the pizza home. We will be back. I want to try the other offerings but it will be difficult to pass on the Detroit Pepperoni Pizza. This place is a new gem for the area.

Pizza is a favorite to all and I love Square Peg's coal fired pizza. Fresh out the oven they offer tons of options but what's even cooler is they offer pizza flights so you can try up to 3 different kinds for 35$. What a delicious deal! Another fun fact is if you sign up for their rewards program you can get a free cheese pizza with other great promotions. The fried spaghetti that is salted and comes in the mason jar is so addicting I can eat them all the time. The Plainville location is a hidden gem attached to the hotel and offers an indoor arcade inside the restaurant as well, which I think is awesome. You get to enjoy your food and have some fun!

Food presentation was very good, we went on a slow Sunday night and the bartender was very friendly. I really like the pizza options they have, though I will say the pizza at this location didn't seem to come out as good as their truck stop location in Berlin. This location is pretty big with a lot of seating and has TVs to watch all those football games around the bar.

Had a quick lunch during the week. Curious about the new location. Big space, beautiful Christmas decorations. Loving the game arcade in the back. Big bar in the middle. Felt a little bit cold. We had a cheese pizza and another one with Italian sausage. Very tasty and quick. Sodas this time. The service was lovely. I just wished they fixed the rewards system/points. I've been coming for years now and still can't use the points. I always get the same response. "Not sure why is not working " or " That's another party " .

Olivia is an awesome bartender and took care of everyone expeditiously! Great time just hanging out at the bar vibing to the Christmas music! The pizza was really good. The sauce has a really pungent flavor. They do have live music and karaoke. Nice location and size.

I thought the place was pretty cool, spacious, large tvs that you can watch from different spots and they even had a small band playing some cover songs which was cool. Service was quick, no complaints. The pizza was good, I like my crust thicker but it was very flavorful. I thought that even though rhe pizza wasn't like a 5 stars (3.5/4 sounds about right), I thought all in was worth the visit. Will be back

Ordered a pepperoni pizza. Pizza tasted good and crust was delicious. First time ordering here and I would again. A small side of the pizza was a little burnt but I didn't mind.

It has a pleasant atmosphere and is definitely the best I had in this area for Neapolitan style pizza. I highly recommend.

Don't let the outside of this place fool you because looks are definitely deceiving. We were cautious coming to this place due to the appearance of the outside, but once we were in it was so much fun. Agus, aka rawbartender, was Ah-mazing and truly made the night fun. He was truly such a vibe!! I ordered the SpongeBob, which was Goslings rum, pineapple spice, ginger, lime, angostura bitters. Especially with the show that was put on, my drink tasted even better. It was a Smokey, yet smooth and refreshing drink! We also got the Snow White, on the sweeter side made with Pear vodka, orgeat, pear juice, lemon juice, cinnamon. And of course, we can't forget our schooling in tequila and Mezcal from Agus. He was very informative of what he was serving and we tried a few different shots. He gave us the rundown of how you're actually supposed to taste tequila. And I have to say I've never had an experience like that before. I wish the party didn't stop and I will definitely be coming back specifically for Agus and of course the drinks!

They had a little booklet menu of at least a dozen espresso martini variations with high quality liquor and specialty liqueurs from multiple countries. From my understanding, it is a Christmas "pop-up" called Miracle. Since we just showed up without reservations, we sat at the bar, which was totally fine with us. The bartenders were very nice and offered up some recommendations. It turned out, my friend had gone to a Miracle pop-up at another bar weeks before, but hadn't realized it. The space is cozy and was very nicely decorated. I ordered an espresso martini off of their regular menu and my friend ordered the Candy Cane Lane. We didn't order food since we had dinner plans after. Our bill was $37.00, plus the $6 we left for a tip. For two cocktails that were good, but not fantastic, that is a little steep in my opinion. If we each had a second cocktail, it would have been close to $100. It's a bar in Newtown, not the casino. Would I go back? I would, just not during the holidays, and maybe a special occasion.

I've known about this place for a while, and a friend reminded me that they recently changed locations. We were seated in the bar area at a high table and were given two menus: a happy hour menu that lasted until 6 PM and their regular menu. We figured we'd order a few things off of their happy hour menu while it was still going on, then move on to the regular menu after 6 PM, since we knew we'd be there for at least a couple of hours. We ordered a shrimp appetizer, gnocchi, fries, wine, and a white Cosmo to start. My absolute favorite was the grilled shrimp appetizer, even though the other two were very good as well. My friend's favorite was the gnocchi. From the regular menu, I ordered the ham and cheese croquettes and she ordered the regular cheese croquettes since she is vegetarian. We loved those as well. These four tapas were enough to serve as our dinner and we didn't have to order anything else. The service was fantastic and I thought that everything was priced very well. I liked that there was a parking lot right next-door. A friend met us. Later on for a final drink and mentioned that he liked this new location better than the old location. I would definitely return and try different tapas. Their entrées also looked very good. I really like this location because you can walk around and do other things after dinner in the area.

The Brussels sprout salad was top-notch--packed with flavor and one of my favorite dishes of the night. The pasta was also excellent, with a perfectly balanced creamy sauce that wasn't too heavy. I especially liked how they presented all the dessert options, making it fun to choose. We ended up ordering the pistachio cake, but unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite. It tasted much saltier than expected rather than sweet. I'm not sure if it was due to the cream cheese or the pistachios themselves, but the flavor felt a bit off for a dessert. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

I just missed their live jazz band that they have on weekly Wednesday basis starting at around 7 or 8pm. I wasn't too disappointed because I knew I'd be back. The entrance is setup as a VHS store with VHS movie cases displayed all over the "storefront." Everyone here was polite and welcoming. I was met by a host who showed me the way into the hidden bar, that you enter via a soda machine. If I'm not mistaken, there's a specific button that opens the vending machine door (you'll get a hint as to which one it is.) I was lead to the back to a narrow, elongated bar area that was perfectly dim with cozy decor; incredibly inviting, warm, could make be described as elegant. At the end of the bar, near the exit (at the back of the establishment), is where the band usually sets up. I sat down and asked the bartender to free flow through his cocktail creativity and to please include smoke. He didn't disappoint, I can't recall the name of the cocktail but he included two scotches and delivered the smokiness I was looking for. I love a good spirit despite lacking the knowledge of its production to which Jeremy, the founder, explained to me in a way that helped me understand the distilling processes simpler than I thought possible. On their bar top there were two mini wooden barrels that held their own aged products . One contained Irish whiskey which was referred to as the Irish- the other was as a cherry infused bourbon-- both good but the bourbon? Divine. Tonight I learned that the wood you choose to age your alcohol in heavily impacts the flavor of the liquor, not only through the amount of time the spirit ages in the barrel, but the type of wood used. The example I was given was that of oak and its ability to allow sugar to be drawn from it via a liquor (can't recall which one exactly was used to describe this process). Here they also produce all of their bases/ juices or an additions to the drinks they make. You know exactly what you're drinking here. I had little knowledge of this distilling/infusion/aging components and also of Wallingford, a place that was once referred to as the wettest town in the U.S. It makes sense given that their main strip contains 18 bars in itself. This Gilded Curtain was incredibly immersive, there is no doubt that I'll be back, lots of times, with lots of different people to impress. Love this place, it's a must visit recommendation from here on out. Thank you Gilded Curtain (Jeremy).
