Local Kitchens 1711 W El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94040 Square Pie Guys (SPG) is the latest addition to the menu lineup at Local Kitchens in Mountain View, CA. The current menu features four pizzas and some wings. This review isn't about Square Pie Guys, it's 5-stars for Local Kitchen's ability to duplicate flawlessly another restaurant's food. That's not easy to do. When I saw SPGs on my Local Kitchens (LK) app, I had to order my favorite pizza....The Big Von. I always pickup my own food at Local Kitchens, so my pizza was hot and fresh. Now, I have been to the real SPG in Oakland, and have had The Big Von there. I bet if you put the two pizzas side by side, (SPG vs Local Kitchens @MV) you can't tell which one came from where. FYI for you 1st timers: The Big Von is a small 8 x 10 inch Detroit Style pan pizza that sells for $24.95. Quarter of the pie is a slice, and each slice is over 500 calories. Thick chewy dough. Caramelized crispy edges full of flavor. OMG....white sauce, italian sausage, pepperoni, mike's hot honey....a must try for any pizza lover. 5-Stars from the crew at Local Kitchens @ Mountain View, you got it right! Misc info: - Local Kitchens in Mt View has no dining room or patio. It's pickup or delivery only. Small off street parking.

Inside of Local Kitchens, so it's not a stand alone store. Ordered takeout/delivery and overall had a positive experience. Wish the pepperoni covered the whole pizza, but the taste and crunchy texture was spot on!

I did not dine there but did order a pipickfor pick up. It tasted really good, was ready just in the time for the scheduled pick up, the process was easy as well as the price that was fair. Great service! Next time I'll make sure to dine in and leave another review.

My favorite pizza in the Bay. I'm not Gluten-Free but the Gf crust is better than the regular. Highly recommend switching. Odd....I know.

I made an order through Doordash, and the delivery came just on time! I was very pleased with the chicken. With bones, the chicken weighed about 8 ounces, and they were so delicious. Set my mouth on fire, but not too much, and I ate all of the wings in one sitting. I'm not a sauce person, but there wasn't an option to have no sauce. I ordered Italian mustard on the side but just ended up throwing it away because I don't like sauces. Even so, thanks so much for this delicious food delivery, Aunt Rosella! It was worth the steep delivery price tag.

Amici's has a nice explanation of this on their website. Which makes sense. There are no wingstops or anything like that in the Mountain View area. So after this amazing discovery, we were able to order awesome Amici's pizza and wings from the virtual restaurant. All the items are available on their website under Starters and Sides, with free delivery, pizza restaurant style. On superbowl sunday, we got a bunch of pizzas, and twenty piece of the Flame Roast Lemon Chicken Wings, and another twenty of the BBQ Chicken Wings. Both were good. They were wings and little drumsticks mixed together. One guy here can't eat spicy, so we opted for mild spiciness on both. But they did come with a nice spicy ranch sauce. Definitely bingeworthy wings. Friendly on time delivery.

It's just not my go-to when it comes to fried food and so I don't have it often. That being said, one of the beauties of Local Kitchens is that it's open late and so when I finished work late one weeknight, I decided to come here and try something I had never ordered. I ordered the fried chicken with the goddess and buffalo ranch sauces as well as the garlic Parmesan fries. Despite not enjoying fried chicken, I am foodie enough to know that it's all about the batter. They definitely have a good spiced coating for their chicken that made it delicious. The fries were made with fresh garlic (always a good sign) and were tasty. The dips were also good and rather unique especially the goddess dressing dip. Overall, a decent place if you enjoy fried chicken. Like I said, I'm don't really eat fried chicken so I'm probably not going to rush to this place anytime soon. However, if there's another late night and/or I'm craving fried chicken, then I will definitely keep this place in mind.

Prop Chicken comes in three types: Fried, Flipped, and Fake. Fried is fried chicken. Flipped is roasted chicken. Fake is Tofu. I have ordered food at the real Prop Chicken in Oakland, and this food from Local Kitchens is exactly the same. Same flavor and quality. On a Sunday evening, using the Local Kitchen's App, I ordered the Flipped Chicken Entree. That's roast chicken (leg, thigh, and 1/2 breast), a salad, and a buttermilk biscuit. (Cost: $14). How was the chicken? That chicken was HOT, and the biscuit was soft. No complaints. I picked up my own order at the counter. Service was fast and professional.

It's in a small strip just past the tofu place with limited parking in the Circle K convenience store. After I parked the manager came out to ask if was going into his store. Apparently people use their parking for the tofu place. I noticed a sign for a new Cajun Chicken Sandwich and ordered that and paid at the counter. It would be about a 10 minute wait and as I was checking out the store, the manager asked if I would like to wait in my car and he would bring my order to me when it was ready. The chicken was nicely breaded with a crunchy outside, tender and moist inside. The seasoning was a little spicy and nowhere near as hot as a place like Dave's. Overall a good sandwich, maybe a better choice for folks that can't handle Dave's. It's repeatable.

And frankly, KFC has gone so far downhill in the past 5-10 yrs. Doesn't downtown MV already have Bon Chon (excellent, I go semi-regularly) and Clifford's Chicken & Fish (not *quite* downtown, but also excellent, I'm glad they're here!)? Sure, but those are slightly frou-frou places, you go, place your order, and wait a probably reasonable length of time while someone fries up your order, the wait longer (ofc!) when more people would like to eat. At Bon Chon, I've waited almost an hour for a single order! Contrast this with KKC, where the chicken's hot and ready in the case, you tell the cashier what you'd like, and 70 sec later, you're walking out the door with your order. Unless your order is large or complicated, which you can see mine was not. I actually scurried in *minutes* before closing, and took my chicken to eat at home. IT WAS STILL SUPER CRISPY -- er, KRISPY! Doesn't sound like much, but the old KFC was even nearer my home, and the chicken was always soggy by the time I was home. (Did it start out soggy?) And it didn't taste old/dry, despite being what was left in the case at the end of the night! The pieces *are* on the smaller side (I feel this is true everywhere -- chicken has shrunk and prices have increased), but it's good chicken. But the biscuits, OMG, THE BISCUITS!! One bite, and I was sure they had shortening -- super unhealthy, but you can't fake that texture, it's close to but not quite the same as lard, plus lard is savory and frankly more expensive than shortening, and let's call a spade a spade -- this is not a gourmet chicken shop. But the texture on these is really good. And the honey butter adds enough sweetness I personally don't feel a need to add more honey/butter/jam, though I enjoy biscuits sweet but not sticky-sweet. YMMV. Do I want to come back? Yes. What do I want next time? Probably more dark meat chicken and biscuits. What about their shrimp and blueberry biscuits? Maybe, but call me narrow-minded -- the shop was clean and I enjoyed my meal, but I feel this is a place that gives you a quick, delicious meal at a reasonable price. I'm not super sure this is a place I'd go for blueberries and seafood? That seems like asking a lot. But maybe I'm wrong -- I do see very positive reviews for blueberry biscuits, but silence on the shrimp, which might mean their shrimp is not selling that well, which maybe raises freshness concerns. Okay, so next time: dark meat chicken, plain AND blueberry biscuits! This is definitely worth trying. It's not expensive, you probably won't have to wait, so if you end up liking it, this will be a great place for you (just maybe not for your waistline and heart).

There's one in Fremont, but also on in Mountain View, which isn't too far from me. So on a different night, I decided to give this place a try. Short answer: it's REALLY good! Long answer: It's a very very small place. It's got that 80's vibe to it... it's like Falafel Drive-In but with chicken! The staff was nice... although it seemed like there was only 1 front-of-the-house ( I couldn't see in the back). And he was doing EVERYTHING... preparing the food, packaging it up, taking orders.... And it wasn't like the place was super busy at 7:30p on a Thursday. In fact, no one was in front of me, but I still had to wait 5 minutes or so for him to take my order. But finally the order was fired up, and he immediately told me it will take about 15 minutes, because everything is made fresh. Nice! I kinda lost track doom-scrolling, so I peeked my head up every once in a while. I guess he thought I was being impatient, but he assured me, 5 more minutes... Eventually, he called me over, and I took the thing home. Keep in mind, with traffic... it took about 30 min to get home. So the food was getting a little cool. But it was still VERY crunchy, and tasty. My wife immediately took a bite and said it was SO GOOD. She had the 2 tenders and a side (french fries), while I had the chicken burger. The burger was HUUUUGE. I yielded and got a knife to cut the thing in half so I could eat it properly. Even though it was 30 min... the chicken was still super crispy and had a nice satisfying crunch. It blew CFA out of the water, tbh. Tho I still love CFA! Anyway, this place is really really good. It does 1 thing and does it super well. I'd like to try it again, but eat it there fresh and see if that makes a difference. As it stands, I'm struggling to think of a place better than this.
