    Fresno Fig
    Carmel P.

I love coming here as the ambiance is great, the prices are super reasonable, and food tastes great. I've tried both the Fresno Fig burger, as well as the fish tacos here. Definitely liked the tacos more, but the burger was also great. They have good choices for their kids menu as well. I loved the fact that one of the side options for their kids meal was mixed fruit. Strawberries and pineapple -- the kids loved it plus it was a healthier option over fries. Win-win. Oh and I also tried their dragonfruit cocktail and that was also SO good. Will defs be ordering that again.

    Side Ripped Fingerling Potatoes

I ordered the burger and the Side Ripped Fingerling Potatoes through DoorDash. The burger was fine, but the potatoes were incredibly disappointing. They looked nothing like the menu photo. Instead of crispy fingerling potatoes, it looked like someone scraped the burnt bits stuck to the bottom of the pan into the container. Almost everything was dark, overcooked, and tasted burnt. I couldn't eat them and ended up throwing them away. If this is how the potatoes are normally served, the menu photo is very misleading.

We were in town for a few days to celebrate my daughter's upcoming birthday and decided to try the Smash Burger special... Best decision ever! The hostess was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our server was just as wonderful. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, the peach martini was a pleasant surprise, and the ambiance was lovely. Loved everything about this place!

I've been to Eureka! on Castro Street a few times now, and it has quickly become a go-to. It's always lively thanks to the heavy foot traffic in downtown Mountain View, making it a great spot to hang out, meet people, and people-watch. The bar area is particularly nice, long, with plenty of seating, and a wall of TVs if you're looking to catch a game. * The Food: The Burgers: On my first visit, I tried the Eureka American. It's a thick, juicy burger, and even though I'm usually picky about pickles on my burgers (despite being a fan of pickles generally), theirs provides a perfect balance. It's $18+, which is a bit pricey, especially since the fries portion is a little light, though they are very tasty. The Pro-Tip: I went back on a Wednesday and discovered Smash Burger Wednesday! They do $9 Double Smash Burgers and fries all day! In the Bay Area, finding a full dinner for under $10 is unheard of. The two smashed patties equal the size of a regular burger but at half the price - totally worth it. The Surprise: The absolute standout was the Carrot Cake. The bartender suggested it, and he wasn't lying. It's surprisingly good. As you can tell from my photo, I couldn't even wait to take a picture before diving in. It's officially the thing I look forward to most now. * The Drinks: They have a top-tier collection of whiskeys and a massive rotating beer menu (just look at the taps on the wall!). I had a very healthy portion of an Old Fashioned, but the highlight was the Laughing Monk Belgian. It's crisp, with a hint of citrus, perfectly refreshing as the weather starts to warm up. I liked it so much I had to have a couple. * The Bottom Line: Whether you're there for the craft beer or a solid burger, you can't go wrong. I'll definitely be back on Wednesdays for that $9 double smash, a cold Belgian, and another large slice of that Carrot Cake :)

    Steak Frites

I ordered the steak frites medium and this is how my steak came out... Took a couple bites obviously because I was starving but couldn't even eat it because it was very very undercooked & way too rare for me. The manager came out and gave me a $10 gift card instead of offering to remake my steak... really didn't feel worth it especially because I didn't get to enjoy my food. Wouldn't come back here

Eureka is a fun, lively spot with tons of outdoor seating spilling into the street since the main road is closed to cars. The inside is dimly lit and energetic. It can get a little noisy if you have trouble hearing, but the atmosphere is upbeat and social. We went on a Monday and it stayed pretty full most of the night. Service was very good. Our server checked in often, and the manager even stopped by the table to see how everything was going, which was appreciated. The cocktails are good, and the batch cocktails were a hit at our table. Food was solid across the board. The brussel sprouts were great. The ahi poke stack had very fresh tuna and came with good chips that made it easy to eat. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked really well and super juicy, just not quite as spicy as I expected. One thing to note is that many dishes come with some kind of aioli, so that is worth knowing ahead of time. I also liked that the menu lists calories, even for the drinks.

On a chilly Saturday afternoon I decided stop by Eureka for a beer and catch up with an old buddy. Fortunately, it was too crowded and we were able to get a table immediately. I was craving a beer that was more malty and "Obi" our server offered a sample of the Karl Strauss and Pizza (yup) Port. Both were decent and I went with the KS. Excellent. My buddy went with a grayhound and it was also excellent. A tip of the cap for then using pink grapefruit juice. Nice touch. Eureka is a good place to grab a drink (or bite) and have a good chat with friends. I will definitely be back. Now for the pic.

Orange chile glaze and Eureka! dry rub wings
    Amanda M.

My boyfriend and I were looking to watch some football with a beer and a few snacks, without going to a sports bar or a pub, so we ended up at the Eureka! bar. Overall this was OK, though I know we didn't order enough to fully review. We ordered two hazy IPAs, pretzel bites and split the wings between the orange chile glaze and Eureka! dry rub. The beers were refreshing, but the pretzel bites were sad--the bites themselves were barely bites and there weren't very many. The wings were pretty standard, and we both preferred the orange chile glaze. I liked that these were flavorful without being drenched with dressing. The service at the bar was fine. We were helped quickly by one person, which was good, but I felt like someone different was checking up on us every 5 minutes (a little overkill).

if you like overpriced burgers and fries, sure I guess this spot is for you Food is just okay and it's just a classic American style restaurant, nothing really standout here Vibes here are good and they got a bar, super loud when it's later at night so it's hard to talk

This was my first time at this location. I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. I got a vodka soda splash of cranberry and it was made just like I like it. I had two of these and everytime I leave Eureka I don't feel too drunk which is good but I also don't order their wild child's anymore bc I feel like there's is minimal alcohol in there and more juice. I always love the brussel sprouts and truffle cheese fries! Can't go wrong w those appetizers! This was my first time getting the cheese burger and onion rings. The cheeseburger was good, but I do like the fig burger better. The onion rings were super crunchy and good. The campfire drink is fun, it comes with smoke when in a bottle when the waiter pours it for you and a toasted marshmallow. I do like the Santa Clara location a bit better for the vibes, I like the outside seating/bar there.

    Truffle Cheese Fries - 4/5

What on Earth happened to this place?! I've been here a few times before, just never got around to writing a review... I remember thoroughly enjoying my experience at Eureka when it first opened. I fell like Eureka has steadily had a downhill progression since then. The food took forever to come...simple order, just burger and fries; 20 minutes at least and it wasn't outstanding or great. I had to ask the bartender if the kitchen was backed up. His reply; "Oh yeah. They're backed up." Ummm....at least have the decency to tell me that...common courtesy I would have thought. It's what I would have done. Customer service is now an afterthought. #Burger ~ Double Smash - 2.5/5 This didn't look like a Double Smashburger, barely looked like a Smasedburger actually. Apparently Eureka is fully onboard the shrinkflation wagon. The sizes of the burgers have shrunk and the prices are up, the flavor seems to be missing as well not. The Fries were good. ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 2.5/5 I had this in the past. This time it looked like a former shadow of itself. My buddy was NOT a fan! Pre SHRINKFLATION items I was lucky enough to enjoy... ~ Osso Buco Riblets - 4/5 ~ Truffle Cheese Fries - 4/5 ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 4.5/5 ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 4/5 (2nd time around - Steadily declining quality) ~ Chicken Nachos - 3.5/5 ~ Blues Burger - 4/5 ~ Milk Stout - 3.5/5. A bit Sweet Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon or possibly ever...

bone marrow burger + truffle fries
    Donna T.

Came to Eureka for their bone marrow burger and was satisfied. If you're a bone marrow lover, you will likely be too. It contains bone marrow shiitake butter, grilled onion, horseradish mustard aioli, and roasted roma tomato. I also got a side of truffle fries which were okay; the fries could have been crispier. The meal is obviously decadent, so expect a bit of a food coma after! We sat outside on a nice day. Service was a bit sluggish though, as it took a long time for our server to take our order and retrieve the bill even though it was pretty dead.

Yesterday was my first time visiting here after our first choice (Redwood Grill) was a disaster. I guess it was meant to be to come to this place instead and I'm so happy I did! I ordered a Cobb salad with chicken and dry rub chicken wings. The wings were so tasty and crunchy. Definitely highly recommend! My Cobb salad was delicious as well but my only suggestion is that if they can cut the chicken in slices to make it easier to for people to eat. I only suggest that because when I visited their Roseville location for the first time I did noticed that little difference from that location to this location. I posted two pictures to show the difference in the Cobb salad with sliced chicken and non sliced. Other than that the service was attentive and our waiter was very nice and she kept coming back to our table to ask if we needed anything which I really like. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to eat some great tasty food. I will definitely be coming back!

I came here recently with three girlfriends, and we shared a variety of dishes, all 5/5! * Avocado Dip + Plantain chips: great combo with plantain chips instead of usual tortilla chips * Wood-fired Eggplant + Carrot hummus, Tzatziki: adored the carrot hummus! * Shrimp Salad - absolutely delicious with crispy shrimp, avocado, quinoa, mandarins in a lime-herb vinaigrette. Outstanding. * Disco Fries: not your average French fries! Loved the pork sausage and pickled red onions, wonderfully tart savory flavor. *Sautéed green beans - next level green beans with a creamy vinaigrette and chopped cashews *Grilled Corn: spiced coconut, cotija and tajin. Delicious! *Red Pepper Bread: melts in your mouth I think we finished everything we couldn't help ourselves. It was so delicious! Really didn't have much room for dessert, but we had to splurge and check it out so we decided to share two plates: *Pandan Flan: I love flan, and this was phenomenal! The pandan caramel paired perfectly with the yogurt crème, and the coconut rice crunch and strawberries added texture. And, the plating was fabulous! *Mango Sticky Rice: the presentation alone was incredible. Best I've ever had. Next level! This is a must! To go along with the incredible food is a beautiful atmosphere that you just want to sit and save her. We had exceptional service as well. I honestly cannot wait to go back. Five stars Chef Stephanie!! I've heard so many good things about the sister restaurant in LA, Girl and the Goat. The Cielo Rosa, with mezcal and jalapeño has a lot going on as well. The forager had great mushroom flavor and loved the roasted garlic. I think guests sometimes overlook the novelty of being able to enjoy your time in the establishment you choose to dine at. Folks seem to be in such a rush these days. It's nice to slow down and enjoy the sunshine and hustle/bustle of the world around while enjoying a quality meal and some sunshine or indoors while letting the wind sweep your table top. P.s. if you ever have some issues with your experience--talk to the staff. Don't leave a low quality yelp review. It doesn't help anything besides, perhaps, one's self esteem.

Fun beer garden with a nice outdoor area, a popcorn machine, Happy Hours, and trivia on Wednesdays!…read moreI arrived with my gal pal during happy hour to snack on some bites and have a beer. It was a sunny day and the weather was beautiful (but slightly hot), luckily we got a table as there were reserved seats around us. For happy hour, we got their happy hour sampler which included, 2 spaetzle cheese balls, a pretzel with sweet mustard, pickled veggies, and a cheese sausage/brat wrapped in pastry dough. We also ordered some jager fries (fries with mushroom gravy/jager sauce, cheese, and green onions). The wrapped sausage was the standout! We also ordered two half liter beers - I love the selection of German beers and local beers. This being a biergarten, of course we went German. Overall, a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! I would definitely try non-happy hour menu items and try to make my way down their beer list.

Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. I would highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely be back for more.

Our favorites were the kimchi deviled eggs, the miso linguini pasta, and the yuzu dessert. One thing I did notice was the seating arrangement. I had seen another Yelp review mentioning that they were seated right next to another party despite the restaurant being mostly empty, and we had a similar experience. Even with plenty of open tables, we were seated directly beside another group, making it easy to hear each other's conversations. It wasn't a huge issue, but a little more spacing would have made the dining experience feel more comfortable. Overall, the food and service were great.
