Boscialo Pizza, Mortadella E Burrata Pizza, Pesto Pasta Salad
    Tiffany Y.

When passing through Eataly, you'll see this pizza place serving Roman style pizzas by the slice and they will look amazing. The line gets pretty long -- we probably waited at least 30 minutes but it seems like there is a slowdown because of limited people working. We tried the boscaiolo slice ($9.90), which had spicy sausage, tomato, mushrooms, and parsley, and it was pretty solid. They reheated the slice for us, so it was warm and the dough was crispy on the bottom. The mortadella e burrata slice ($14.90) was really cold though -- maybe because they didn't want to heat up the burrata too much? Since it was so cold, the dough because super chewy and our jaws became sore from eating it. The meat is pretty salty and the burrata isn't light enough to balance it out, so the flavor wasn't my favorite either. The pesto pasta salad (side is $4.90) was good though and the green beans in it made us feel healthier. Overall, the presentation of the pizza seems to be better than the actual taste. I'd only recommend coming here if the line is short and straying away from the burrata slices.

Wagyu pizza slice: meat was semi chewy, hard, cold, not very flavorful. Overhyped. Would not recommend as the price is twice as the other options. Margarita pizza: solid cheese, ok tomato sauce, yet still cold. :/ these pizza definitely need to be heated up more since they sit out in the cold on display. There's a good selection of seating areas and just hanging out. Don't recommend the food here. On the pricey side for subpar cold pizza :/ Service wise, the staff gets your order heats it. Not much to it. Being that this place is conveniently located in Westfield, it's a quick takeaway meal.

Having stopped by Eataly several times, I've always made a point to walk past the pizza and paninis section. They have a lot of different slices on display and will make you salivate as you decide on which one to get. Slices range from anywhere between ($8-17) depending on the toppings. We ordered the Tricolore and Porchetta slices. The Tricolore had a salty bite with the prosciutto but balanced with the tomatoes on top. I wish there were more tomatoes because at a certain point I ran out, so each bite got progressively saltier. The Porchetta was just alright. I wasn't a fan of the cheese and the toppings were good but not amazing. We did get our slices reheated but I felt that the slices could have been warmer. Plus the dough itself was a bit too chewy and was more work for your teeth than I anticipated. However the flavor of the dough was really good. For the price per slice, it's hard to recommend this place when there are better and more wallet-friendly places. But as an experience and addition to Eataly, it's worth checking out at least once.

*Yelps Pizza alla Pala's other location* Eeeeck, 3 stars?! *Shrugs* Let's do this! I usually ignore bad reviews because you have to try things for yourself and decide. Well, except if it's a meal that's going to make my wallet cry. Pizza alla Pala is a food stall inside the brand new Eataly serving Roman-style pizzas (not pinsa), paninis, and salads. L O C A T I O N Eataly, Valley Fair, 1st level. Use Cheesecake Factory as a landmark and walk towards the courtyard; it's next to Shake Shack. O R D E R I N G Line up (separate line than the entrance to the Eataly market) and when it's your turn, go down the line, choosing your pizza, panini, and/or salad while it's packed up. The person next to me told me the line was so long yesterday that they shut it down. Until the hype dies down, come early. Arrived 30 minutes before opening and was second in line. When it opened, there was about 50 people in line. With the mandate lifted, most staff and customers do not wear masks. M E N U * Roman-style pizzas baked in an electric oven, topped w/ local+seasonal ingredients and served on a wooden paddle (pala): 12 varieties from margherita to a fancy mortadella e burrata. --Available by the slice ($5.90-$14.90) or whole pizzas ($35-$90) --Served room temperature OR they'll heat it up for you. * Paninis: 12 varieties, by the slice ($10.90-$12.90) OR whole ($55-$65). Not all paninis are available whole. * Salads ($4.90-$11.90). 10% OFF during opening weekend! F O O D * Insalata Di Bruxelles: Brussels Sprouts, Red Chili Flakes, Sea Salt, Hazelnut, Raisins, Black Pepper Parsley, Pecorino Romano, Vinaigrette (Side-$4.90) Given the myriad of ingredients, it was boring and bland. * Meatballs (3 for $9) Huge meaty balls in a bright, chunky tomato sauce but they were straight up cold at 11 AM opening time. * Salmone Panini: Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Chives, Red Onions, Arugula on Focaccia al Papavero ($10.90) Best item we tried, the housebaked poppyseed focaccia was thin, soft, and chewy. There's only one layer of smoked salmon but it was delicious with the rich cream cheese and arugula for a peppery bite. * Pizzas *** I was going to request the staff to heat up our slices but I was told the pizzas were "fresh out of the oven" and "warm". They were NOT. They were the same pizzas I saw that had been sitting when I arrived to Eataly 1.5 hours prior so they were cold by opening time. So, def request your pizza to be warmed up! -- Mortadella e Burrata: Ferrarini Mortadella IGP, Di Stefano Burrata, Toasted Pistachios (Slice-$14.90) Initially, I was like dayaaam...$15 for one slice but you get an entire burrata bundle. Sadly, it was meh. The exterior crust was thick and the base was focaccia-like but too tough to chew because it was cold. The milky creaminess of the burrata mellows out the saltiness of the mortadella. But, there was something off with the burrata, it was sour. -- Funghi: Roasted Mushrooms, Ghidetti Provolone Piccante, Housemade Mozzarella, Parsley (Slice-$8.90) Friend said, it was ok. S E R V I C E Friendly. There's only one staff taking orders and one cashier so the line moves slowly. A M B I A N C E Food stall. You can take your food to the outdoor dining area (dog-friendly) to enjoy. Come early and with a friend/fam to secure a table. P A R K I N G Congested. First 2 hours are free; 2-3 hours: $1, 3-4 hours: $2, etc. TIP: Park at The Row across the street, grab a drink at Blue Bottle or Boba Guys, and walk over. Overall, the food was really disappointing and I'm sad that we had to toss about 40% of it. While I'm sure it may be opening kinks, I rather go to sit-down restaurant.

3.5 stars If you're eager to try out some of the eateries inside the new Eataly at Valley Fair Mall, this is probably the easiest one because it requires no reservation and it's open all day. The downside though right now, a lot of things gets sold out very fast. So my only advice for now is to go early if you want to try the paninis and some other things. Right now, there is a line that forms outside and it moves very slow. They don't have enough workers to take orders, to heat up the pizza slices or ring up your order. So bring your patience if you want to go check it out. I got to try the lamb meatballs, pork and beef meatballs, funghi mushroom pizza, and the mortadella e burrata pizza slices. I enjoyed everything but even though the staff heated it up, waiting for the register can take another extra 10 minutes and then your food is practically cold by then haha. My favorite was actually the funghi mushroom pizza which has an amazing crust. It is pricey so if you are hungry, you might end up paying a lot. The four items I ordered came out to $45 and I was still hungry afterwards. I do plan to come back to try the paninis because they were essentially sold out when I went in the afternoon. Hopefully my next visit, it will be a much smoother experience and I'll get to try much more.

    The cheese is gross

I know it's high-quality pizza, but this is the worst pizza I ever had. And I'm not just pouting because of the wait or price: I simply didn't like it. And not liking pizza is like not liking veterans or firemen or ladybugs. I tried the $9 mushroom slice and $8 salami slice. I liked the rustic crust [it's "crustic"] but the gooey cheese had a weird texture and a flavor I didn't like. I am trying my best not to say gross. By the way, I timed the experience for your benefit. With 20 people ahead of us, we waited 16 minutes in the outside line to get into the door, and then another 16 minutes to order and then another 8 to pay after reheating. So, 24 minutes once you are in the door, plus a minute for every person ahead of you outside. Three complaints: Slices of meat from a neighboring pizza were touching the veggie slices, which are all rewarmed on the same baking tray. It's odd that the pizza is served lukewarm after waiting for it to be heated. They need a higher wattage bulb in whatever they're using. Maybe it's a nanowave instead of a microwave, who knows, but I want my $9 pizza slice to be hot, or is heat extra? The trash cans were overflowing with their unnecessary packaging. There was so much plastic I thought I was watching Darcy & Stacy on Discovery Plus.

Just okay! Pros: - lots of variety and the display looks amazing from the pizza to the sandwiches and side salads - the pizza is fresh (we saw new ones coming out quickly and got a fresh slice of the funghi), and they reheat and slice the large piece in two for you - friendly service and pretty quick (line wasn't too long when we went at opening) - prices aren't too high considering how fresh and large each slice is Cons: - the tricolore was a bit too salty from the prosciutto, and only had 2 pieces of small tomato halves in our entire slice - the crust was a bit chewy and hard to eat even when sliced in half - looked better than it tasted, it wasn't BAD but it wasn't great. I wouldn't come here again if there was a long line Would come here again to try some other flavors (or grab another slice of the funghi), but overall just ok! Also make sure they ring you up correctly, at first they got our slices mixed up with the people behind us. Friendly service and line moves quicker than you'd think!

Honey Soppressata ($9.90) and Margherita ($7.50)

3.5 stars Pizza alla Pala offers decent options for a quick meal. The pizza is on the pricey side, but that's somewhat expected for Valley Fair. We ordered the Honey Soppressata ($9.90) and Margherita ($7.50). Both were quite tasty when fresh out of the oven. The flavors were enjoyable, and the ingredients seemed of good quality. Once the pizzas cooled down, the crust became very hard to bite into and chew. Overall, I'd be back to try other flavors since it's convenient.

For me, everything I've had here is an absolute win. I live over an hour away and eating here is definitely worth the drive. I was very excited when this location opened up because I was used to going to the Park MGM location in Las Vegas. I'll admit that the pizza slices sandwiches here are a little pricey for the size that they are, but for the most part, it doesn't even cross my mind because there is no shortage in flavor. Most recently, I had the Mortadella e Burrata pizza. The slices have always been heated to a very satisfying crunch. The burrata was super creamy and soft and it's complimented perfectly by the toasted pistachios. The Crudo was amazingly salty in the best way. One of the best sandwiches I've had here. I've also had the Tricolore pizza. The salty prosciutto with the juicy grape tomatoes and peppery arugula was just perfect. There are quite a few options for seating. Personally, I like to sit outside. The weather has been very nice lately and it's nice to relax out in the open air. A bonus is that the ice cream shop, Salt & Straw is located right across the way from the patio. Nice way to add a sweet finish to my meal. For me, Pizza Alla Palla is a must when I come to Westfield Valley Fair, whether I have room to eat in or just order to go. I can't leave without picking up a slice and a sandwich.

I know a few folks who have been to Eataly and love it. My experience yesterday for the service was great. Everyone was kind and prompt. They stay open until 9pm on Fridays even though their sign says 7PM. The pizza on the other hand was another story. This is my first time trying their food and I've been wanting to go for so long since the food looks so good. Once it was ready on the other hand, the pizzas were cold (even though I saw it placed in the mini oven) and the taste itself was meh. For the price of their items, I dont taste the quality. Their $11 Prosseco was also not worth it. I may give them another try... just to confirm. Tip: Don't go to a place with high expectations.

I was super excited to see Eataly finally open as I love Italian food and went to this in New York. I saw a huge line for it, and being a huge pizza lover, I needed to give this place a try. They mentioned that they used fresh ingredients, and this was their version of roman pizza, so I stood in line and ordered myself one as well! The line looked short but it took a while to order, mainly because each order was taken one at a time, reheated a premade slice, put on a plate, and finished the transaction before going to the next person. I ordered a margherita, where one big slice was cut into two to make it easier to eat, which was nice. The crust was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, giving it a sourdough like texture. The sauce was decent, but because it was premade and not heated enough, it left a doughy texture on the crust right underneath the sauce. And I know they reheated the pizza, but it wasn't hot at all. All of these factors degraded the taste of the pizza which I was excited about, and I questioned why people were standing in line and waiting for this long for this. I do think the place was understaffed and more attention to detail would have helped elevate the quality of this slice, but I would much rather get pizza elsewhere if I had to wait for this long. But I guess if you are in the mood for a slice while shopping in valley fair, you have an option right now if you need a long break. Will try this place again sometime later to see if things improve!

Had a chance to try this place, on the first floor of Eataly after seeing so many friends visit. This is located in valley fair mall and can be accessed near the area where Cheesecake Factory is or the mens macys if you're inside. There's a line so prepare to wait. Once in line we were able to see lots of different pizza choices, as well as some salad like items and meatballs. Ended up trying some marinara based ones with mozzarella and salami which were delicious as well as a 5 cheese pizza, which I would skip next time. I wish they heated up the pizza more but overall the food felt fresh and yummy. The beef and pork meatballs were also pretty good! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

This place got some good pizza for the price. That's if you don't get the expensive wagu beef one.. It was like 20 or 30 bucks for a slice! Although, I actually need to try this! The wait here to order can get pretty long during lunch or dinner hours. Expect to wait for a bit if you come during this time because it can get really crowded. I like meat so I tried the Soppressata slice. It wasn't the pizza that had the most meats that I saw but this one was pretty darn good! It's a squared slice which a bit of thickness to it. Just the way I like it! Would I come back here? Hell yes I would! Maybe I'll try the wagu beef or the one that had carmalized onions next time around.

This is some of the worst food I've ever had. Flies sitting on pizza slices. Cold and dry paninis. Expected better from Eataly.
