It's in a small strip just past the tofu place with limited parking in the Circle K convenience store. After I parked the manager came out to ask if was going into his store. Apparently people use their parking for the tofu place. I noticed a sign for a new Cajun Chicken Sandwich and ordered that and paid at the counter. It would be about a 10 minute wait and as I was checking out the store, the manager asked if I would like to wait in my car and he would bring my order to me when it was ready. The chicken was nicely breaded with a crunchy outside, tender and moist inside. The seasoning was a little spicy and nowhere near as hot as a place like Dave's. Overall a good sandwich, maybe a better choice for folks that can't handle Dave's. It's repeatable. read more

I've only been here once, but I'm giving them 5 stars bc as far as I'm concerned, this is the fried chicken downtown MV has lacked since the KFC a block east of Castro St on El Camino Real closed. And frankly, KFC has gone so far downhill in the past 5-10 yrs. Doesn't downtown MV already have Bon Chon (excellent, I go semi-regularly) and Clifford's Chicken & Fish (not *quite* downtown, but also excellent, I'm glad they're here!)? Sure, but those are slightly frou-frou places, you go, place your order, and wait a probably reasonable length of time while someone fries up your order, the wait longer (ofc!) when more people would like to eat. At Bon Chon, I've waited almost an hour for a single order! Contrast this with KKC, where the chicken's hot and ready in the case, you tell the cashier what you'd like, and 70 sec later, you're walking out the door with your order. Unless your order is large or complicated, which you can see mine was not. I actually scurried in *minutes* before closing, and took my chicken to eat at home. IT WAS STILL SUPER CRISPY -- er, KRISPY! Doesn't sound like much, but the old KFC was even nearer my home, and the chicken was always soggy by the time I was home. (Did it start out soggy?) And it didn't taste old/dry, despite being what was left in the case at the end of the night! The pieces *are* on the smaller side (I feel this is true everywhere -- chicken has shrunk and prices have increased), but it's good chicken. But the biscuits, OMG, THE BISCUITS!! One bite, and I was sure they had shortening -- super unhealthy, but you can't fake that texture, it's close to but not quite the same as lard, plus lard is savory and frankly more expensive than shortening, and let's call a spade a spade -- this is not a gourmet chicken shop. But the texture on these is really good. And the honey butter adds enough sweetness I personally don't feel a need to add more honey/butter/jam, though I enjoy biscuits sweet but not sticky-sweet. YMMV. Do I want to come back? Yes. What do I want next time? Probably more dark meat chicken and biscuits. What about their shrimp and blueberry biscuits? Maybe, but call me narrow-minded -- the shop was clean and I enjoyed my meal, but I feel this is a place that gives you a quick, delicious meal at a reasonable price. I'm not super sure this is a place I'd go for blueberries and seafood? That seems like asking a lot. But maybe I'm wrong -- I do see very positive reviews for blueberry biscuits, but silence on the shrimp, which might mean their shrimp is not selling that well, which maybe raises freshness concerns. Okay, so next time: dark meat chicken, plain AND blueberry biscuits! This is definitely worth trying. It's not expensive, you probably won't have to wait, so if you end up liking it, this will be a great place for you (just maybe not for your waistline and heart). read more

Tucked away in this very clean Circle K convenience store! My husband and I were always curious to try out krispy krunchy chicken and today is the day! KFC biscuits were always my ol reliable favorites but the honey biscuit here finally topped it. The shape was interesting, not uniform like KFC, but there's purpose to this shape! Its thin and thus crispy on the edge while the center has that soft pudgey biscuit goodness. Perfectly salty and sweet with honey. They apparently also have a blueberry version but it was not available today. The chicken as advertised, deliciously crunchy. & Im not sure how they do it but it falls off pretty clean from the bone. I also got not complaints about the mash and gravy tho kfc is slightly better in this area. Cashier was also friendly! Hands down the best fried chicken ever! I can't believe it took me this long to find out about this place (heard about it through a good friend). They fry on the spot so each order is made fresh. The chicken definitely lives by its name. It's crispy, crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. The biscuits are to die for. I don't mind waiting an extra 10-15 min for the blueberry biscuits. This is such a random hole in the wall... this is a Circle K independently standing with no gas station attached to it as most Circle K's are. The folks working inside fry the chicken fresh to order. They come out with crackly shattering delicious skin but a bit on the saltier side. Only downside is that the white meat is chicken breast tenders and not actually chicken breast with bone like the Colonel's. Blueberry biscuits are fabulous too! Stick with the fried chicken and walk around to check out all the drinks and snacks they also carry! read more

People were nice. Chicken tasted like it's been in there for 10+ hours. Meat was dry and skin was nasty. I swear I think my whole household got food poisoning. One of the toddlers was throwing up next day. Sad thing was, we drove very far to get this cause we had the other location in Campbell and it was delicious so we were craving it and decided to give this location a shot. Didn't work out like we planned it too. Chicken tender was the worst by far that I had ever had it in my life. Safeway serves better. No lie. This is an honest post. The absolute worst location~ for multiple reasons, 1.) The chicken really isn't that good, tastes like it's been sitting all day, but never came here for outstanding food, we all know it's a gas station chain so never expected much but still just gross 2.) My husband and I went in today just to stop to fill our water bottles with ice, it states on their website that you can bring your own cup and get free ice. He fills them up and starts to walk out to the car, the worker CHASES him out YELLING that he needs to pay for the ice! So my husband goes back inside and asks where it says that, he shows him a hand written sign, so he pulls up the website and shows the man that it says you need to pay for a cup if used, free refills into a container you bring in are accepted. He continues to fight him on it and say well at this location you need to pay... and proceeds to tell him, "Well now you know how we operate and we know how you are" Like what do you mean by that??? Mind you my husband is a black man, obviously the worker has some kind of underlying (not really underlying if he lets ice boil his blood like that) racism because I (a white woman) have come in MANY times to do the same exact thing and NEVER had a problem. My husband refuses to pay because that's just completely ridiculous. 3.) We take one sip from our cups and it's RANCID!! So completely ridiculous, he fought THAT hard over ICE, that's BAD! How do you mess up ice?? I know...Popeyes might be a little better, but you can't order Popeyes every time. Also, if you have ever been to Texas, chances are you sometimes have a hankering for Church's. Only you don't want to drive to Oakland for it! So, this place is a good second best. It's kind of a like a competitor to Popeyes in the South. It tastes like its name and is also garlicy, so people who like garlic as a spice you will like this chicken. Goes well with watching football on the weekends. So ihad a friend that lived in the burbs of New Orleans that told me about this chain of chicken shops that would be in gas station stores. Apparently they've infiltrated the bay area and I wasnt even paying attention until recently walking by this one in a Circle K, sans gas station. Being late and not wanting to cook we dove in here and ordered up a bunch of pieces. Now the review reflects that they were about to close and we got what was available in the display case. Even then it was pretty darn good. Now some people like cold fried chicken which is not my thing so having it hot out of the fryer would have been a 5. Good seasoning, slight spice and batter that is not too thick or thin. A few wings and a chicken breast hit the spot and the blueberry biscuit on the side was a good starch and slight sweet foil to the chicken. Now for some reason MV has a fried chicken trail within the last couple of years. The KFC has been there for a while but then a Wingstop, Chicken G's and now this are all within a 2 exit stretch up and down the El Camino. 3/4 of these are open until at least 11 so add another late night eats option to the area! read more

We just found out when we got there that this place is a convenient store. We set her on yelp to see if there's any place we could get fried chicken while we were driving home. We asked if they could fry new chicken for us and they did! We waited for 10 mins. Also there's a table right outside the store to sit down and eat. Mostly people order to go and pick it up. Do not treat this as convenient store food it's an actual Krispy Krunchy Chicken place. They were out of everything so I settled for tenders, frites, and Mac n Cheese. They made the fries fresh the tenders were crispy white meat. My only complaint was the Mac was a little watery but still tasted fine. The blueberry biscuits are the main seller here. Grab them while you can, they hit. Hopefully next time I get to try the breasts and the other selections they have. If you're looking for something different then KFC or Popeyes.. This place is one of those places that at first glance, looks like just another chicken place, but that is so far from the truth. This place is soo good. Their chicken is too notch but what puts the cherry on top here is their biscuits. They have the best biscuits I have ever had at any chicken place. It's not even close. They are sooo good. Such a guilty pleasure! It's in an odd location to buy fried chicken bur the chicken was hit, crispy and moist inside! It's take out only so no comments on the service. Location was a 7/11 type store. The other KKC I've been to was in a gas station. You don't go here for the ambiance or how the place looks. You come here to fill a craving. Food was good. Real great! The inside of the location seemed to be like a 7-Eleven with lots of snacks and drinks. The waiters who attended me were very nice and were quick to help me receive my chicken sandwich and wedges. The food was similar to what I usually expect from Chick-Fil-A and Popeye's. Though not at the same quality, I still enjoyed my meal. I still need to try more of the menu to recommend this location for frequent visits, but if you're interested in something different once in a while for your chicken food orders, this is a good spot to try! read more

This is real deal chicken! We got the mixed order with some Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with a side of the honey biscuits (amazing!) Chicken was cooked well and wasn't greasy. Mashed potatoes were great with gravy added. Mac and cheese was good too. And always great service too! Did you realize this is a Circle K? Get some sweet tea and some desert before you leave with your chicken! I'd rather go here than KFC or Popeyes! read more
