The chain selection was a little limited, but honestly I would come back just for the people. I had the sweetest conversation with one of the employees, and you can tell the owner genuinely loves what she does. There's something so nice about being around people who are truly passionate about their work, especially when you're brand new to that world yourself. Jenny was even so kind as to refer me to another place who would carry more chains, which was amazing! I spent about $150 for around 6 feet of chain total (2 sterling silver and 1 gold filled). Being new to the jewelry business, I have absolutely no idea yet if that's a great price or if I got taken to the cleaners but either way, I'll always remember Lost Cities as the first place I bought inventory for my new little business, which makes it pretty special to me. My only little gripe was parking. It was $5 for an hour, which felt a little steep, especially when I was just popping into the store. Such a sweet experience though, and definitely a place I'd stop into again if I'm back in the area.

There is no pressure at all. Yesterday, she showed me a necklace I liked and I told her that I needed to ponder on it. I also left a couple of pieces to be repaired. When I went back to pick up my repaired items, I bought the piece. We've also had Patricia custom make items for us. Our Mom lost one of her her favorite cross earrings. We showed Patricia and she suggested we have two new ones made and and turn the original cross into a necklace. It was a great suggestion and the price was so reasonable. She shipped us everything within a couple of weeks. Mom was so pleased. Patricia has one many ribbons for her jewelry from the Del Mar Fair and we enjoy seeing them when we visit. Every time we come to Julian, this is one of our "go to" places and we always enjoy catching up with Patricia. She is a sweetheart!

I particularly enjoy the baseball (specifically Padres) memorabilia. I really like the old beer signs and such. I'm not well versed in the world of antiques as far as what something's worth or value is. Therefore, I'm not sure if the prices are any better or worse compared to similar inventory at other stores. That said, an old Schaffer beer tin sign for $85 seemed a bit steep. It is fun to walk around and look at all the old stuff. You just might come across that perfect "thing".

I needed some help to find items for a photoshoot. Gail & Angel spent so long with me pulling items from even the depths of storage! I had a very particular set of items I wanted , and they understood my vision, took my measurements, and found exactly what I wanted. Many years later, I could still spend hours looking through the fabulous curation they have worked so hard to procure & maintain. This isn't a thrift store... It is an amazing collection with many fine, rare pieces; that Gail, Jasja & Angel spend a lot of time and effort to keep in amazing shape. They are some of the most welcoming, creative people you could meet -- and as passionate & knowledgeable about their craft as you could be. There's much I could say, they are special people with a special shop. I can't imagine why anyone would feel anything less than mesmerized in this place!
