Though it is helpful to now have comparisons across the options, as someone doing this for the first time I wish I had started at Capital Jewelry & Loan. My items and I were treated respectfully, and a very fair price was offered for what I brought in to sell. Main takeaways: clean, professional environment, simple process, no wait, and most importantly, they have an XRF analyzer. The XRF really helps when you're not exactly sure what you have - just because something acid tests as gold doesn't mean its solid, and just because marks are missing doesn't mean it isn't valuable. Alex tested several pieces I brought in and walked me through the process with simple language, and even worked with me on a piece that I had a few other offers on. The combination of professionalism and the equipment they have available is a key reason why I decided to do business with them, and why I will return.
