My wife and I were visiting from the west coast of FL for a friends wedding. We arrived early before our 15 top and had a seat at the bar. The bartenders were full of personality and extremely welcoming. They offers some suggestions and on food and cocktails which we appreciated. After that, our party arrived and they sat us right away. This is when things went downhill. Fast. The older gal they assigned to us was far out of her element. She was completely incompetent of handling the size of the party by herself and that was made clear right up front. She was short and rude with every single one of us. From slamming drinks and food down on the table to exclaiming "OH MY GOD" when my wife asked for a side of ranch. She put the wrong drinks on my tab and coming from the service industry, I knew how to handle it. So I approached her at her station and let her know she had made a mistake but it was ok and to just run it. She then goes back over to the bride and groom, who have already paid their tab, that they owe her another $15 for an orange crush. HOW EMBARRASSING. I then told her AGAIN to keep it on my tab and run it. The atmosphere was great and the food was, well, to be honest, mediocre at best. The views and drinks were amazing and everybody seemed to be enjoying themself. Except for "sparkle" the rude blue haired middle age waitress that doesn't have any idea how to serve tables. The drinks were wrong. The food was wrong. The service was awful. I can see this place being a decent place to grab a bite to eat and drink with some amazing views but this waiters absolutely ruined it for all 15 of us. 10/10 wouldn't recommend going here with a big party. Instead, go to the bar and enjoy some great cocktails and the bartender banter. They were the best part of the experience. The rest totally sucked. read more

Best location here in Sebastian. The service was good. The food was good and fast. I ordered the Maui sandwich blackened with french fries. The food came out within 10 minutes. The french fries were room temperature. A little soggy. The sandwich was warm and the bun that it was on was sticky, after the review of my bill, I noticed there was a service charge when asked what the service charge was for. She stated they put it on ever since Covid and to pay for cleaning and cleaning. She says every few weeks they do a massive clean I thought in the restaurant business you were supposed to clean every day, most places I've been to do not have that charge on there but Squidward still do apparently maybe it's something they need to remove those days are over read more

So I go to Sebastian, FL pretty often to visit family and usually end up at Squid Lips for dinner at some point. I definitely recommend sitting near the water so you can catch some dolphins swimming by. The food is good, but better during happy hour lol. We decided to grab an early dinner which worked out for HH. We ordered the mussels to share as an appetizer and then I got the coconut shrimp for a main to share with my bf as well. My Mom got the mussels as her main. We ordered a beer and waters for the drinks. The mussels appetizer came out perfectly and we dipped some Texas toast bread in the sauce which was to die for! Soon the shrimp entree came out which was really good. The shrimp was crunchy and a little sweet from the coconut. Unfortunately, the chef went a little heavy on the salt for the side veggies and we didn't touch them lol. Also, my Mom's main entree mussels came out super salty too. I think salt bae got a little excited! Unfortunately, she has to return the mussels and didn't want to order anything else. This is a pretty awesome spot even if it's just for the scenery--right on the water, sea breeze blowing in the whole time keeping you cool while the smokey flavors of the oak grill fill the air. Honestly, just come for a drink and you'll be happy. The food is pretty good too. My party got the Aback sandwich, the oak grilled mahi, the stuffed shrimp, and smoked fish dip and mussels as an appetizer. The best of the five? Definitely a tie between the Abaco sandwich and the smoked fish dip. The Abaco has a sweet breading that compliments the mango chutney so well, and the smoked fish dip is a pretty healthy portion and has a truly balanced flavor of smokiness and sweetness. As for the stuffed shrimp, mussels, and oak grilled fish, they were all good. The shrimp are suuuuuper rich and packed with crab in a buttery sauce, the mahi was cajun seasoned and cooked on the oak grill, and the steamed mussels were in a tomato-y, white wine sauce. I wish we had tried the snapper instead of the mahi as I think the mahi was a little on the drier side, but the portion was pretty incredible and the flavor of the smoke was spot on. The saltwater atmosphere and the smoked fish dip will have me coming back--a great experience all around! read more

We've loved Squid Lips for years!! Food and service are great! Our table was on the water so it was nice to watch the full moon rise!!They told us that it would be about a half hour wait, so we found seats and had an enjoyable time with our daughter,who is visiting us at the bar. Parking can be a bit of a challenge - waiting for someone to leave, etc. They're building more parking, so hopefully, that will help. It's worth the wait!! read more

I frequent this restaurant quite often with my group of friends (11-14). The food was good and the waitress was attentive. The problem came at the end when we received our bills. We were each charged $12 for our drink but on the menu they were $7 so I asked to speak to the manager. He came over and informed me it was two drinks, piña colada and a rum runner combined, which is called pain in the ass. I said I knew it was 2 drinks in 1 cup, but the manager argued that it was two full drinks of the piña colada and rum mixture and that's why it was more money. The waitress never said it was more money, just there were two drinks in the cup that we could take home.There were five at our table who who tried this drink. I asked him to please adjust it on everybody's ticket not just mine. But he refused to do change any other ticket but mine. Poor poor, poor management skills and a very bad decision for public relations. We spent over $200-$250 at our table. If he had made an effort or an apology, it wouldn't have been so aggravating. The manager could have offered the other 4 women dessert or a coupon for 20% off or anything. Ignoring the other 4 women was totally WRONG. It's not my favorite restaurant in this area, but went I there at least 2-3 times a month. Now???? It will be a while before we go back to Squid Lips read more

First time here, and we will definitely come again! I had the grilled tuna with apricot ginger sauce which was very tasty. Their coconut bread is amazing. My husband had the lobster Mac n Cheese which was also good. It's a popular place, so be ready for a wait. We amused ourselves on the dock & fed the fish while waiting. My husband and stepdaughter went for lunch today and they both had the girl dolphin sandwich which was in my opinion a disaster since my husband brought home his leftovers. Who in their right mind being a chef would let a fish sandwich leave there kitchen on rye bread unless it was specifically ordered. I'm thinking one that's not really a chef. I'm not really a chef but I'm a cook the only difference is a paycheck I do it for the love and for my family but I damn sure know you do not put a delicious piece of dolphin on a piece of rye bread and it was grilled it wasn't even grilled well if you want to make a good dolphin sandwich listen up use a nice light batter or a breadcrumb crust for your dolphin and deep fry it 2 minutes so it takes make yourself some nice fresh tartar sauce to go with not that bottled crap u get in the grocery store. a nice crusty roll with some lettuce and tomato maybe a wedger pickle on the side and if you don't have that even in a pinch a hamburger bun would work way better than rye bread., not to mention the fact this fish was old. The restaurant sits on a river and is open with fans but no AC that I could tell. It was a beautiful breezy night so was perfect but do wonder what it might be like in the summertime. Menu is mainly seafood, but burgers also available. My husband and I ordered the coconut crusted onion chips for an appetizer. They were good, but thought they would have more flavor. The mango chutney served with them is way too sweet and could use some heat. The mahi teriyaki sandwich, on the other hand, was packed with flavor. It was oak grilled and had a perfect smoky flavor. Went to Squid Lips this past Friday. It came highly recommended as one place to dine while we stayed in Vero Beach. Let's just say I won't be going back. First our waiter greet my wife and me with a "Welcome ladies..." ?!? Clearly the facial hair might give it away who you're speaking with but if you not being attentive I can see where you could make the mistake. Our two meals seemed like the were prepared by two different people in two different kitchens. One kitchen concerned about the customer and took care to prepare the meal. The other didn't give a S$*t about what or how they presented or cooked the meal. My salad was nice mix of greens, cucumbers and grape tomatoes, my wife's salad was chopped iceberg lettuce with a few shredded carrots. Looked like it came from my high school cafeteria. The two were completely different. I order the Key West Baked Red Fish which was tasty my wife Thai Mahi, her was burned, soggy and gross. Needless to say, not recommended. read more

Hubby and I stopped for a light dinner. We shared a wings appetizer, a bacon wrapped scallops appetizer and an order of fries. The scallops were undercooked and not really worth $4 per scallop ($15.99 appetizer price). The wings were very good, and a deal during happy hour. The fries were decent. All in all it wasn't bad. Evidently they send out great specials via email and our very nice waitress informed us and also made Sure I signed up for future emails. I think we would try it again and order some entrees.
