This might be my favorite restaurant in all of Vero Beach! Every time I am in town, I visit to order the same meal. It used to be on the menu and no longer it but if you ask, they'll make it for you. It is called a honey basil, salmon salad. It comes on a bit of spinach with poppyseed dressing and fruits, like mandarin oranges and sometimes blueberries and red onion, which I know is not a fruit. It's worth noting that it comes with shaved almonds so if you have a nut allergy like myself, make sure to ask for it without those. The salad is filling. The salmon is always cooked wonderfully and is a really great portion for a salad. It's all very fresh. I like to get it with a side of truffle fries. This comes as the appetizer portion for $10 with shaved Parmesan on the top. It's really really good. My husband likes to get the bistro burger, which has bacon jam on it. He thinks the bacon jam is so so good. We both consider this a must visit destination when we're in town. I don't know what I'm gonna do if they ever decide not to make this item since it is truly not on the menu. read more

What a cute little cafe, tucked away between retail shops off A1A. Stopped in for lunch after revisiting our old stomping grounds. Live in Vero nearly 30 years ago and never knew this was here, or maybe it was an addition to the area after we moved away. Glad to have found it though because it is such a cute brunch place. Plenty of outdoor seating and while they had indoor seating with AC, we had a dog with us and wasn't able to be seated inside away from the heat of summer. I would suggest they maybe add some overhead fans to the outdoor seating to make it more comfortable during the brutal summer but no biggie. The service was very attentive and food was delicious with a Parisian, coastal vibe. Highly recommend! read more

The server was amazing. I wish I could pronounce his name, but I can't. He always had a smile and was exceptionally polite. My husband had the bowl of black bean soup with sour cream and tortilla strips and andouille sausage. He gave me a bite and it was delicious. I had the florentine stuffed mushrooms. They were amazing. Five huge mushrooms, with a salad was so fulfilling. The music they were was just instrumental Christmas music which was so calming and beautiful. Today we went to Citron Bistro for brunch. It was our first time there, and we thought it was solid overall. The service was okay--the waiter took a while to get to us, but he offered us free wine to make up for it. I just wish he had been a bit more attentive. We started off with hot tea but were disappointed by the selection. We ordered tea expecting a simple English Breakfast black tea; however, that wasn't available. The food was great. We ordered the Fresh Catch Handheld and the Open-Faced Chicken Caprese, and both were phenomenal. They were generous with the portions, especially the amount of meat. The seating was also great--we sat outside, and there were plenty of umbrellas to keep us shaded from the sun. read more

Came for lunch with a girlfriend as we were on a day shopping outing. The weather was perfect to sit outside. We both had salads with grilled mahi. The salads were very good. My fish looked like grilled on one side and steamed on the other. The "other" side being the one with a large dark bloodline which should always be removed. I left a significant amount in the plate. Citron is tucked away nicely in the Village Shops on A1a, and has plenty outdoor seating, most of it shaded by umbrellas. Not the cheapest but the quality of the food is overall good, and the setting is worth the extra bit. As to their menu: if you are vegan you can get a salad and that's about it. No vegan desserts except the sorbet, which they had run out of. The salad was good but I wouldn't expect some wilted leaves at a place like this, and a bit more creativity would not be misplaced. This is our new favorite restaurant in Vero Beach! It was so quaint and in an unexpected location. It's important to know that they don't have a bar. We went early, thinking we would have a drink at the bar before our dinner reservations. They were so kind and set up a table for us outside to have drinks before our reservations inside. I actually loved sitting outside because they had the trees all lit up and it was just lovely. Our waiter was fantastic! He let me taste a few wines before choosing which one I was going to have and was happy to do it . He also gave perfect pours! There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try and so many unique preparations. I was happy there was four of us so we could all share and Taste each other's food. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits. There were so many different flavors going on in that dish and it was so delicious and comforting. ( and I don't even like grits!) my husband had something similar. He ordered the special of the evening, which was mushroom risotto with garlic, shrimp, and spinach. His was good, but mine was better! My sister-in-law ordered the salmon that was flavored with a bacon, jam and red pepper sauce. This dish was very unique and the salmon was delicious. It was a huge portion. My brother-in-law ordered the fish of the day, which was Mahi . That is one fish that I don't love so I did not try his but he had a nice big portion and it came with steamed vegetables and rice. He said he enjoyed it very much. We started with the crab dip and it was delicious! My husband and I split the pizza salad with citrus and goat cheese and I wish I could eat that every day! That one's a must order. The other couple split the pear salad and loved that one as well. The food here is particularly special. I wanted to compliment. The chef and our waiter told me it was the sous chef cooking that evening. Whoever the sous chef was, he is truly gifted. This is definitely a foodie's restaurant! Excellent, nice decor and friendly staff! Ate dinner here recently and had a very nice experience. As far as food goes, the conch fritters were delicious. I had never had conch before, and they were very fresh and had a nice heat to them. For dinner we got the steak frites and duck with blueberry sauce. A lot of places can cook a steak medium rare, but rarely do they make fries worth really digging into. The Parmesan fries that came with the steak were super crispy and delicious. The duck was great too, though a smidge overdone. For dessert, the blueberry bread pudding was phenomenal. Truly one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Sadly, we had a reservation at this restaurant yesterday at 7:00 PM, and the service was absolutely terrible. I actually had to get up and ask for cutlery for my wife and myself; they placed bread on every other table, but never on ours. The food was cold--a truly unpleasant experience. I do not recommend this place. The waiter noticed our accent and discriminated against us. It is truly disheartening; what was supposed to be a celebration turned into something utterly demoralizing. To travel all this way only to receive such service is simply unacceptable. read more

Great Place - We thought we found a secret gem because it's sort of off the beaten path and not very big....BUT....the locals ALL know about it and keep it hopping! The outside seating area is so large we had no idea the whole courtyard would fill up with happy people! Lovely staff and good service -but a bit slow and leisurely ( which worked for us). We split everything and we have been here twice. So the two of us have tried 2 salads, one soup, two deserts and three mains o we the past few months and each dish is delicious.the shrimp n grits deserves special mention as does the blueberry bread pudding!!! We have been coming to Vero Beach for over 20 years and we just discovered this place. Before it was just open for breakfast and lunch now they're open for dinner. When we got there we were surprised by how many seats were outside. It was a really nice set up even when it was dark out. I wish we ate outside instead my reservations were for inside. They don't serve cocktails and the wine list was very expensive. The bottle of wine that we got is normally around $12 in the store and it was almost 50 to purchase. The beer menu was limited as well. The waiter didn't rush us, some might say service was slow. Since we placed our appetizer, then waited, ate it and then placed our entrée we missed out on what we wanted to have. We placed our order for the special, but then he came back and said that they were out of it, and we need to order some thing else. The waiter was very apologetic. My mom and Husband wanted the steak Frites and they were lucky enough that they were able to get it. He said that there was only a few left. It seems that it's a limited menu, so I recommend not going too late. The waiter was very nice and was working really hard. The food was good, not great. I really enjoyed the shrimp bruschetta appetizer, but the meals we felt were something we can make it home. read more

The food here is excellent we have dined here a number of times and never been dissatisfied with the food or service. However this last visit our table was outside by the oak tree and was infested by oak moth caterpillars. The restaurant was full but it would not have taken much effort by management to relocate t he table away from the tree. Clearly the management is not able to react to customer needs. We were still removing caterpillars from our clothes when we got home!! A patron came up to us and said we were the 3rd group to complain that evening and still they did not react. read more

We sat outside to eat and it was busy, but were able to get seated fairly quickly. Our service was amazing! I am saying 5 overall for our service, main dishes, salad and Mac and cheese. All were really good. The only place that fell short was the guac and chips. Chips were not homemade by even a local shop and guac was not chunky fresh. I am a guac lover though so I'm a tough sell when it's not authentic or close to it. Swordfish was absolutely amazing, my husband enjoyed his steak, the pear salad was a perfect blend of flavors and the Mac was so good. Outdoor Ambiance is fine except on a cold windy evening. Outdoor heaters were great until two of them ran out of propane within minutes of being turned on. Waiter,Rich, was wonderful. Food was marginal at best. Have eaten here for years but have noticed a steady decline in food. Won't return until I hear talk in the town of improvement. Sad, but truly not worth the money. A wonderful surprise when our family members introduced us to a Citron Bistro. The restaurant is set back away in the Village Shops off A1A. Unfortunately, I had just been out to breakfast and we were just satisfying our family request to dine out for lunch. So I did not dive into some of the restaurant signature such as Ahi Tuna over Asian noodles. Instead, I shared French Toast with my brother. My wife had the Curry Apple Chicken which was fabulous. The restaurant has dining indoors and outdoors; we chose to dine on their outdoor patio. The ambience is a sophisticated upscale flare with well-dressed staff serving their customers. Overall, the dining experience was pleasant, and the food was delicious. We look forward. visiting this restaurant next time with an appetite. read more

What a great gem along A1A in the Village Shops in Vero Beach. In summer it's not very busy as many of the shops close at 5PM, but don't let that deter you. My wife had the cioppino risotto special, and I had the shrimp and scallop linguini - while both dishes were fantastic, the cioppino risotto was the star of the show - large pieces of seafood, loaded with flavor. My wife has a gluten allergy and they had great GF bread for her to enjoy. Our server was friendly, polite, and attentive. Next time we are in Vero, Citron will be a sure stop for a great meal! read more

We enjoyed the ambience outdoors. Our server was sweet but should have asked if we needed anything when the plates were served (we would have said lemon) and if we enjoyed it when we were finished. I would have told her that the pasta on the Citron Farfalle (was that even Farfalle?) was massively overcooked to the point of being mushy. 1st timers, we went with friends after packing food for the needy. Cute place and lil shops around it for next time. They have lots of sandwiches and salads. Our server, Jake was pretty incredible, he was personable, fun and efficient. I had the kale salad, nice and big, tender ribboned kale, delicious, the little cherries and pumpkin seed were a nice addition and all worked with the dressing which was a perfect amount on the salad. My husb had the Cobb which had roast chicken he enjoyed. Another had the pear salad, looked beautiful. Another had the turkey wrap, which was roast turkey. They have umbrella patio seating and inside too. The only thing was there were so many flies inside it was like the omen...don't know why, maybe the in and out of the door, but the flies were so numerous settled on everything, tables,chairs, place mats, everything!! I wish I could give 0 stars. Horrible, horrible service. First, we waited about 15 minutes to get seated. We had a reservation for 7:15 and didn't get seated until 7:30, we were just waiting by the hostess stand with people, including the hostess, walking by and not saying anything or helping us. Once we finally got seated it took them about another 15 minutes to even bring us water. Took forever to get drinks, food, and the bill. Never going back. Less than 90 minutes later, Jarod, the manager asked us repeatedly if we could move things along so he could seat another party. $300 dinner for 4 people mid-week in Vero Beach -- I wouldn't call this quality hospitality.
