This place never disappoints, and the Staff are on point, Once you go a second time, the servers remember you (if you tipped well ?) and treat you like they've know you for years.. GREAT Customer service.. Ice Cold Beverages. Shrimp Cocktail / Mexican Style (in a tomato/cucumber/onion etc broth) Very GOOD... it has changed from time to time, the sauce has been fluctuated, but the fresh ingredients, and broth are always still great... Fried Fish - This time it was actually Sea Bass... And was awesome, cooked same like my wife's Filipino style, we loved it.. This place also has Vendors coming in to ask you to buy stuff, breads, gadgets, fidget spinners, etc etc.. If you aren't interested, don't make eye contact.. Say NO, semi sternly, and look away... Been here twice, The first time was a charm, and the second time, not so much. We got seated immediately! We choose to sit outside and soak in the view and the sweat and humidity! Lol Had to get the lemonade, nothing helps to beat the heat like a freshly made lemonade. Next, we got the coconut shrimp, fried octopus chips and guacamole, and a fish dish that I can't remember the name of, which was good. The octopus hit the spot the first time! Service wise is always good but the quality of the food is mediocre. Sometimes it's decent and sometimes it's gross. This time we decided to venture away from the typical fajitas and go with the steaks. The filet was tough but decent. It was however, missing everything listed on the menu description. It was supposed to have mushrooms and a brown sauce & wrapped it bacon. It was very basic flavor wise, had some onion straws thrown on top and vegetables on the side and very little amount of vegetables at that. I had the ribeye, ordered a medium rare came out well done. It was about as tough as a belt. I tried to eat two bites out of it and just gave up. The waiter said the owner would give me half off since I tried to eat it instead of comping the entire meal. I did pay for six other meals so it's not like there was just two meals to eat, but that's the quality of integrity from the owner you can count on when you eat here. Several things wrong with this restaurant. There was a parking space directly in front of their entrance. We got out of the car and the restaurant employee approached with a menu and encouraged us to come in, which is what we planned. I pulled out a 50 peso note (a little under three US dollars) and said I needed change for the meter. He said they would cover the meter if we came in. So we assumed they would. Restaurant was very empty, four of us and only one other couple. It took ten minutes to get menus and then ten minutes later we flagged down a server (there were six visible) to order. Another ten minutes and we asked where our drinks were (three waters and a coke). Food eventually arrived. It was adequate but nothing exceptional. When we asked for our check (we had asked for separate checks), our original server was no where to be seen. Another server showed up with a single combined check. After much explanation (shouldn't be that hard to split four entrees, one side and four drinks) we finally were able to pay. We walked out to our car to find the police had put a boot on the car for not paying the meter. Our original greeter/server was nowhere to be found and the other servers all said it wouldn't have happened if THEY had known it was our car. Mysteriously they didn't seem to have a manager in the restaurant to talk too. So $25 USD later we got the boot removed and we were able to leave. There are too many GOOD restaurants in Puerto Peñasco to waste time on this sorry excuse of a restaurant. Bad service, meh food, and lying employees. Go elsewhere. read more

If I could give no stars, I would (and I never leave bad reviews). We pull up to the first parking spot and ask the waiter (Jose who was standing outside) for change to feed the meter. He says, "You eat here, and it's free. I'll take care of you." LIES, LIES, LIES! PURO MENTIRAS! OUR CAR WAS BOOTED, and Jose (also the manager we learned) was nowhere to be found. The service was definitely lacking (after ordering drinks, we waited 15 minutes to get 2 of 3 ordered), and we were the only customers! I ordered a fish taco w/o pico de gallo (onion allergy), and it was slathered with it. The bottle of water that was brought to us tasted of rust. Upon wiping the bottle, orange stuff/rust was present. I asked to have bottle removed from the tab as my friend was not going to drink it and I was looked at like I had 10 heads (and I was speaking in Spanish so there wasn't a language barrier). I've never ever had such a terrible experience in my 35+ years of coming to Mexico. We had to pay the $25 fine to have the boot removed. That was the most expensive meal for just ok food and downright crappy service we've ever paid for. read more

Javier took amazing care of my family and I. I am vegan and was planning on simply drinking and eating Guac, but he insisted he made me a vegan meal. He made me vegan enchiladas with rice and beans. The sides were great! There was a cucumber and fresh mint cocktail to die for. The Guac wasn't amazing we spiced it up with salt and pepper and my vegan food wasn't amazing either, however the effort was there. The service, drinks, and ambiance was fantastic. We will be back! Especially because of the view and shopping in the area. My non vegan family enjoyed the clams a lot, but the coconut shrimp and their other mains weren't great. Our first visit here in Rocky Point. Our dining experience here at Sr. Amigo was excellent. We had a nice server. His name is David. My son wanted to know if they served Coke from a bottle. My son has never drank Coke from a classic bottle and he wanted to take one home as a souvenir. But the restaurant only served it in cans. However, David went next door and bought a bottle of Coke and surprised our son. My son was happy and brought the bottle home. So should you ever dine here, ask for the server David. We tried this out on the recommendation of a friend. It was dead on a Tuesday night and so we were seated immediately. I ordered the coconut shrimp with the blue Hawaiian drink. The drink came out quickly, but I was not given a straw which seemed strange for a frozen drink? I ended up spilling a quarter of it down my shirt cause the entire drink came sliding at me. Despite being the only people in the restaurant our food took practically a half hour to get out to us, but this is not even the worst part. The shrimp was alright, but the day following my ENTIRE group had THE WORST food poisoning I've ever experienced. All four of us ran a fever, had aches and pains, terrible bloating, and several bouts of vomiting. Needless to say I will NOT be returning as I see no point in paying for food that is going to prevent me from eating for the next 48hrs. read more

I have eaten here for about 30 years and there has only been a few times that it was not great. The great times FAR outweighed the bad so here is my review: Parking is decent and you are greeted by your server as soon as you park. He introduces himself and makes nice talk as he guides you to the best view in the port. You are right on the water with a gorgeous view of the ocean, sandy beach and sunsets at this place are unforgettable. The chips are from a bag of Tostitos. Horrible but they seem to hold up with the humidity here so it is what it is.... the salsa is nice and is a medium heat which seems to work with the people that have wimpy palates. I miss the puffy chips that used to be everywhere and are now non existent. The super cold Sol beer with lime and salt or a pinacolada is the perfect start to your meal. I always get the shrimp cocktail- love it! And the Avocado surprise it great. Fried shrimp with the fresh cocktail sauce is the best! I just love this place! read more

Nice staff, but the food was a little disappointing. I decided to try a cheeseburger in Mexico. Bad choice. It was barely bigger than a McDouble, and hardly any better. The fries it came with were soggy. My wife ordered a true Mexican dish: chicken fajitas. It didn't look as appetizing as they normally do, and she said that it didn't taste any better than it looked. We ate here at night, and with the windows closed and inside reflection on the glass, there wasn't much of a view, although I'm sure it's a nice scenic one during the daytime.
