Wentz came highly recommended by another contractor who did our upstairs ceilings. The estimate was very reasonable for what we wanted done--all of the hardwood in 3 rooms, an upstairs hall and the steps to the second level. On an early Monday morning Tom showed and we went over the final request, agreeing on some additional work. Since I pulled up the carpet and tack strips and yanked the tacks (took about 7 hours of my time) Tom agreed to do the additional work with no additional charge (he originally was going to deduct my time from his estimate. After our agreement, my wife and I left for a week in the Poconos (too much dust would appear from the sanding; the floor coverings had their associated odor; and we wouldn't have been able to navigate around the home). When we came home we were awe-struck--it was like Ty Pennington's "Extreme Home Makeover"; however, unfortunately for Tom, he wasn't here on the Sunday of our return to experience our excitement and pleasure with the looks of the "new" floors; they are gorgeous and the additional work that Tom completed made them all the better.
