For my main, I ordered the duck with basil and chilli sauce. It was ok overall but the sauce was lacking. My lady ordered the watercress salad to start. The watercress was over fried and dry. The seafood was in a side sauce that I found to be awful. For her main, she ordered the whole red snapper. It looked like they fried it for three days! The fish was so dry it was inedible! I was very disappointed with the taste of the food here. I'm not even sure if you can call it Thai food. We ordered Tomyum soup, papaya salad, sauté watercress, crispy pork and a beef curry. Tomyum didn't taste like Tomyum at all. They put a lot of lime in Tomyum soup and papaya salad. Watercress tasted bland and the beef curry was very sweet. We ordered all the food at medium spicy level and none of it tasted spicy at all. The service was okay and they have a beautiful backyard and inside dine-in area. I've have been here multiple times before COVID and finally got around to dining here again starting 2021 onward. It has been so consistent and on point! The fish soup noodle is ok... it's a little too minty for me. We got it to try but it's not our favorite dish. If The kao soy is my favorite dish. There's a bean noodle that comes with it that is super crispy and complements the soup/noodles in the dish in terms of texture. The beef fried rice is good fresh but can be a little salty. (But then again, it is called fried rice with salty beef.) The prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent. If you haven't been here before then you must try it at least once. Came here for dinner with a large group of 10, and the food was delicious! We ordered around 10 dishes and the amount was perfect (if not a bit too much). My favorite was the pork neck, definitely a must try! I generally don't like curries and coconut, so we primarily ordered non curries, overall was great would come back again with a large group. I really love the environment here, there's a backyard behide the restaurant so there's a outdoor dining session there, which is a really good vibe. Thai food it's OK level, however, the service is not really satisfying. The staff seems not really familiar with the menu, she recommend a curry to us and saying that it's not spicy, however, that dish is pretty spicy. One of the thing I love is the dessert. There are whole bunch of the Thai desserts that I really like, for example, the mango sticky rice. The sticky rice is sweet and salty, and with the whole mango. New to Yelp so my review might be outdated since I went back in 2021, but this is one of my favorite places to get Thai food! I'm outside the city so I've only been twice, but I have recommended this place to friends a lot. I myself was introduced by my Thai friend, so you know it's good~ All the dishes are delicious and packed with flavor and the menu itself is quite long so it's hard to decide what to get, but I haven't been disappointed. Everything is also reasonably priced for the portion size. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere inside with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I haven't been to this restaurant in ages and I was shocked that they're still an all cash business. I guess what do you expect for an Asian restaurant? They still have an extensive menu and the dessert section was impressive too. The place itself is very large too. Since there were four people in the group, we decided to share a few dishes if it was shareable. Got the papaya salad to start off with and it was spicy. In the beginning it wasn't, but towards the end, whoa. I mixed it in with one of the entrees to make it more flavorful. I got the Vermicelli dish with shrimp and pork belly in a casserole. My friends and I did takeout here. There was pretty quick service as well from the time we placed the order to when we could pick it up. It was very busy and a lot of families dining at the restaurant. There's also a selection of prepared Thai snacks and desserts by the register! Their Pad Thai was okay - a ton of noodles and not much other ingredients as I would have liked. The chicken wings were delicious and crunchy, and I'd highly recommend those! Came on a Saturday around 1 PM. No lines and easy to get a seat! It is cash only, and they have an ATM located inside. There is plenty of seating and the restaurant is clean. It was disappointing when our order came back Bone Dry. It basically crumbled as we picked it up from the plate. No meat...just flour. We quietly brought it to the attention of the manager and was offered a whopping $3 discount from a $37 price. I'm not gonna lie, that is an insult. I'm surprised I never wrote a review for this place even though I've been here several times over many many years. This is a good Thai spot that has been here for ages with a massive menu including several pages for desserts and they also have a separate takeaway area for them as well. I remember having a pretty good Khao soi once but not much else as the most recent time before this was prior to the pandemic. They have a massive menu and as most recently I was with someone who knows the good dishes, I was in good hands trying some new food. Crispy Chinese watercress salad with sauce from shrimp, squid and chicken crushed peanut and cashew nuts/Yum pak boong grob This was highly recommended by her and I can see why even if I could I have only a very little bit of the sauce/dip due to the squid in it. Nice fry for the watercress. Fried fish (Seat trout) with chili sauce/Pla rad prik This was good though I expected it to be a little bit less sweet but there was a good amount of heat. The batter was light enough also to taste the fish. Fried pork belly with Chinese broccoli/Phat khana mu krop This was good but I actually prefer the fried pork belly from a place in Gramercy of all places (Malii) as it was a little bit too crispy. 4. Green curry/Kaeng hiao wan Good green curry. We got beef and the beef was fine. This was the least spicy of the main dishes. Good though it's hard for me to say much else as there's a lot of other curries I prefer much more heavily. After these dishes, a few people were hungry and ordered dessert. As I am a big fan of coconut pancakes/kanom krok and I know it was good last time, I went with that (though this time they were out of the corn version oddly so scallion it was) and I also got the taro and sticky rice with crispies and brown sugar. The former was good as last time not overly sweet compared to most places and smaller as well. The latter was different being barely sweet and it reminded me more of a dessert I could find at some traditional Japanese spots. I had previously had some other taro based dessert (I believe some type of soup) which was good. Another person got the mango sorbet which was fine. The food here is tasty and pretty reasonable for the price. The place is also quite large and easy to get a big group into. The food was okay. The drunken noodle is close to what I have at harlem, the only difference I asked for mild and my brother-in-law asked for very spicy and there was no spice for both of us. The margarita wasn't the best or the worse. For dessert I had the coconut cakes which was interesting, you have to love coconut to enjoy it. I tasted my sister's red snapper and it tasted bland to me. I like the resturant has so much variety on the menu but it's not worth a trip to queens for me. The servers were attentive but forgot one of my sister's orders (they didn't add it to the bill). Had dinner here with family. Probably not the best of areas to be at during the evening, but the food is amazing here. Cash only so be prepared for that. This shop has a small front that may make you go " so this is just another little Pad Thai joint," but once you are guided to their backyard garden, it will be like "wow, is this an art festival?!" After getting seated, the menu itself was another surprise- I just love it when I have a million things to choose from, so that you can pick something novel and interesting. This place was in my list since forever but everytime we're in the area we end up going for Filipino food. Finally on March 27th Sunday, my husband decided our Thai cravings should be prioritized so off we went post the lunch peak hours. Got seated right away. I liked how clean and bright and spacious the restaurant was. Definitely not a cramped situation. Ordered a lot of things since we came as a group: Tom Yum soup, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Sautéed Pork Belly with veggies, Red Curry Beef, Thai Fried rice in Basil, and Thai Iced Tea. Everything was delicious except for the Pad Thai and the Red Curry Beef. Oh and the iced tea too. I'm a little disappointed in this though because I feel like a good Thai place should always get this right. Overall though, we found it an excellent value for money and only paid around $120 + 20% tip. Came on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. At first glance, it seemed the restaurant was empty, but there is an outdoor dining area in the back and a dining area at another part of the restaurant. I tried the pad Thai, roasted duck green curry, crispy Chinese watercress salad, and got a Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea was on the sweeter side for me. They do offer milk alternatives if you're lactose intolerant. The crispy Chinese watercress salad was my favorite. The watercress is very light. There was a lot of seafood. The squid was tender which was probably the hardest to cook well. The pad Thai had a good noodle consistency. The noodles stuck together, but they had a chewy, springy texture and were easy to pull apart. There weren't a lot of toppings that I'm used to (i.e. a bunch of raw bean sprouts on the side, larger tofu slices). The roasted duck green curry was spicy. I did get a bowl of rice on the side to go with it. There was a lot of duck and vegetables in the curry, but not so much curry itself. The portions are huge. It was a lot of food for two people. The food is outstanding and the menu is extensive with many photos to aid your selection process. The back patio is expansive and wonderfully decorated; I felt pleasantly removed from the noise and chaos of the city. At last, an escape! The food itself was competently prepared, exquisitely plated, and tasted great. My party of four opened with calamari (crispy, fresh) and curry puffs (flaky, savory and sweet). We sipped wine (affordably priced) and chatted about life and the world we live in. Our server diligently filled our water glasses and went above and beyond throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. Main courses: pad kee mao, pad see ew, pork belly with bok choy, and so on. I hadn't expected to share dishes family style but once each of us tried our entrees we just had to let everyone else in on the action. The pad kee mao in particular brought me back to my favorite Thai spot in college where I would get lunch specials and first found my love for this cuisine. Except this pad kee mao was even better. We got the Thai iced tea with bubbles- it was sweet and good but the bubbles were bad. For appetizers, we shared the chicken spring rolls and the fried calamari. Both really good! I got pad see ew with shrimp for my entree. It wasn't bad, but some of the noodles tasted a little burnt- just slightly. Overall had a good experience though. The menu is huge! Having tried many of the popular Thai restaurants in Manhattan, I was excited to explore the Thai food scene in other boroughs. SriPraPhai caught my attention because of its extensive menu and popularity among other Yelpers! I arrived to the restaurant on a Friday night and was seated right away. The inside of the restaurant had a casual ambiance and there was a garden out back for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Overall, the service was excellent and very fast- our food arrived within 15 minutes! Out of the three entrees we ordered, my favorite was the green curry, which was fresh, flavorful, and had a nice kick. The basil fried rice and drunken noodles were also good but didn't stand out to me as much. I had the Cripsy pork belly stir fry and couldn't understand why that's $18 with NO RICE, in a pint size container. I love ordering crispy pork belly whenever I'm at a Thai restaurant, and honestly other places make it so much better; this one is lack of flavor and the pork isn't any crispy, it feels like they over cooked the pork multiple times and still use it for this dish. SriPraPhai has become one of our favorites in the last year or so. I've now been at least 4 times and the quality of the food each time is generally consistent. This was our first time trying takeout and even their takeout was pretty solid! When ordering, we have some staples but always like to try out new items as well. This time we ordered fried chicken and crab roll (new for us), fried calamari, shrimp pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, chicken Pad See Ew, basil fried rice with ground pork, Massaman curry (not pictured) and Thai iced tea with milk. The fried calamari is very crispy and is one of our repeat orders. The size of the calamari pieces is bigger than the size you typically see in Italian restaurants and the squid itself is not tough or overcooked. It comes with a sweet chili dipping sauce which complements it well. Each fried chicken and crab roll is a fairly large puff and the meat inside is more of a ground consistency. This reminded us of a fried shu mai type of dumpling and tasted good as well! For one family member, it was his favorite out of everything we ordered. The Pad See Ew and Pad Thai were flavored the same way that you would expect. However, the quality of these commonly ordered Thai dishes is still better than other places. For seasoning, it's not overly salty and the dishes are very flavorful and savory. For these noodles dishes, there is a hint of underlying sweetness as well. We were introducing some family members to Thai food and wanted them to try a spread. Their basil fried rice is one of my favorites and I've ordered this dish every time I go (sometimes I'll take it to go ). I love it especially because they allow you to have it with ground pork and most places don't have this as an option. With a kick of spice and the fragrant basil, the herb flavor comes together with the pork in such a lovely way. We ordered mild this time and unfortunately it wasn't spicy at all (last time mild had a hint of spice) so the only thing I'd say is that the spiciness may not always be consistent. We've also tried medium in the past and one time it was just right and the second time is a bit much. The Massaman curry had massive pieces of chicken and while it was a little dry, the curry tasted very authentic. Note that curries don't come with rice automatically so you'll need to order a side of rice separately. The pineapple friend rice was made well and had pretty standard flavors as well. The texture of the pineapples and cashews is always a good mix and the slight sweetness works well with the rice if you want a change from the savory. Lastly, the Thai iced tea with milk hit a home run. It's usually a bit concentrated which is typical for Thai iced tea but definitely great if you have a sweet tooth and want something refreshing with your meal. If it's too sweet you can always dilute it with a little water. Overall, even though every dish may not always be perfect, we're always satisfied with our experience at SriPraPhai and love the food there. We will definitely be coming back. We recommend this place to everyone and if you love Thai food or want to try it out, you won't be disappointed. Their menu is quite extensive so we plan to try and eat our way through it slowly but come one, come all! read more

Years back, my husband was leaving for an extended overseas trip. The main thing he wanted to indulge in before his trip was a comforting, flavorful bowl of khao soi. Naturally, it became my quest to find the perfect bowl of this noodle-y, crispy Thai dish in NYC. A few food blogs directed me to SriPraPhai, and let me tell you: the khao soi here was so delicious that we preferred it over the restaurant where we first tried it. Wow! WOW! This place RULES! Went here on a date night with the lady friend, and it was amazing. Highly recommend sitting outside in the backyard, as it was perfect for an early summer day. Also note that this joint is cash only, so be sure to hit that ATM. The menu is quite extensive (intimidating?) as it is 38 pages long. I highly suggest picking out a few things and not looking over the menu again as you may change your mind! We settled on the hor mok, roasted duck, khao soi, and the papaya salad, and it was all very delightful! (I ate the hor mok and the lady friend had the roasted duck). The khao soi was delicious, filled with tender tofu and broc, and a generous helping of noodles, all swimming in a luxurious and flavorful coconut curry sauce. I especially like the condiments that go along with it! I really enjoy food you have to assemble! The service is quick and at times frantic, but it seems like a very busy kitchen. We even caught a fun birthday, so this would be a great place to celebrate! The service is EXCELLENT. After we had dined, I forgot my favorite hat.
