Loved it, wish it was closer to bay shore ! Authentic Korean food. Wish they had an option for half orders since we wanted to try so much different things

i was here on a weekday night, it was not crowded at all and we were able to find a seat right away. the place looks really nice still, i know it's been a long time but it's very clean and a good choice for occasions. menu prices are lower in person than online on their website. they also have some happy hour specials available. all the food we got was very good. scallion pajun was very oily but im not sure if that's just the style since it's a lot thicker too. service was good but very slow. they really take their time.

We came here to celebrate my stepdaughter's birthday. It's one of her favorite restaurants. The place is huge. We could choose a barbecue or regular table and we picked the barbecue table. We ordered some chicken wings with Korean spices. Wow, that was good! Since my stepdaughter likes Galbi or Bulgogi, we ordered that. We also had onions and mushrooms to go with that. Of course, I had the most onions, mushrooms, and vegetables on the side like I always had, lol. This time, I had my dish with some wild beans and rice, and that was pretty good. Kimchi wasn't the best here, but other dishes were okay. Good service. Very nice experience.

Lots of parking, lots of seating! The staff is lovely, very helpful, and they cover each other. The food was great, and they grilled for us. We've been to the other big KBBQ places nearby, and I prefer this. The place can be a little noisy, but this isn't the place for a subdued and quiet meal. There's a lot of hustle, the sound of stuff grilling, it's family-friendly, so there will be a buzz.

Glad to have a solid korean BBQ place nearby! I was craving Bibimbap and this hit the spot. The menu is definitely pricey ($48 for BBQ short rib for one, but it does come with a healthy selection of sides.) We tried the wings (pretty good), the bibimbap (delicious and piping hot), and the short rib BBQ (really good). Not sure if we'd do the BBQ again just because it was so pricey and we aren't into all of the sides. The place is huge and bustling with people. Service is great, drink menu is fun! Try the mango korean beer - yum.

The food was good and the service was excellent. The ambiance looked amazing and looks very traditional. Food fresh

Food was great here. We chose to cook our own food. The ambiance was nice, the menu had great selections. The staff and servers were all knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Here's what we ordered: - steamed egg custard: soufflé of egg w/ scallions - bulgogi: thinly sliced prime rib-eye, marinated in soy sauce - assorted banchan and choice of rice - bulgogi ssam/ssambap: bulgogi, seasonal leaf lettuce, dwenjang sauce sauce wrapped in rice spring roll - sam-gyup sal ssam/ssambap: pork belly, seasoned scallion, lettuce, dwenjang sauce wrapped in rice spring roll - kalbi ssam/ssambap: kalbi, season leaf lettuce, dwenjang sauce wrapped in rice spring roll Everything was delicious and I plan on trying other things on their menu

Very mediocre restaurant. This was our first time eating at this restaurant. We ordered Jajangmyeon and tang su yuk. They provided a lot of side dishes for the food which we were pleasantly surprised by. However, the food itself was very mediocre. The jajangmyeon had a sour aftertaste to it and the tangsuyuk also had a weird aftertaste. There was barely any chunks of meat or potatoes in the jajangmyeon, and the food was just alright. The portion sizes were pretty good, but for the prices, they were not amazing. For the quality of food here, its hard to justify the price. The prices are a bit steep here compared to if you get it in the city. TLDR; too pricey for quality of food. Food is mediocre.

Service is great. Can't beat the ban-chan before the meal. Great selection. The kalbi is great on the grill. Well marble. Nicely prepared. We order 2 things regularly - the pork belly stir fried with octopus and the thick cut bacon. Maybe there's a change in chefs , but the octopus is pretty much extra rare to rare. We started eating it and the put some octopus on the grill. For the pork belly. We had 3 slices cut in half. 6 pieces all together. Most of it was lard. I mean, it was a thin rim of meat with a thick fat layer. If you are preparing the plates for service, and younhave fatty end pieces from the side of pork belly, just render it for pork fat and don't serve it. If all you get is poor quality pork belly instead of well marbled meat, then change suppliers. I give 3 stars for those reasons and 2 pictures of the lard that I should not eat .

Great food and a great place to dine in. We sat somewhere quiet and away from people. We got pork belly, thin slices of beef, and other types of meat. It was fun cooking the meat and eating it lettuce wrapped style. I love the kimchi and other side dishes that came along with the meal.

It was a unique and wonderful experience! The restaurant was big with two types of seating option. One seating was the BBQ cooked on your table and the other was a regular table. The server was extremely nice and helpful with us. We asked questions about the menu and he was willing to explain the type of food on the menu. We had the bbq chicken as an appetizer and short rib marinated in soy sauce. The food tasted so good and the meat was favorable, tender, and very juicy. The small appetizers also tasted so good. Overall I will be coming back here.

First time here and can't wait to come back! Def not cheap, I think the bill was $90 for 2 people not including tip, but we left stuffed! We asked our server for their opinions since we've never been, and we got the grill option. My husband got pork belly and I got the short rib. We shared them and they were delish! The server cooks and cuts it up for you, and you get to eat it with chopsticks hot off the grill. They also give you 8-10 small sides which they will refill as many times as you want. I personally loved the lettuce and pickled veggies to make little wraps with! Will def be back to keep trying different types of meat!

This barbecue food truck has been on the Stony Brook campus since Fall 2012, and over the past few…read moremonths I've tried several of their sandwich and side items, with mixed results. I'll say 3 stars, but to be honest I'm feeling generous. - Pulled Pork Sandwich + coleslaw side ($6.50): This sandwich is pretty decent: pulled pork with a flavorful barbecue sauce served on a soft potato roll (presumably Martin's). It's basic, but the flavors should speak for themselves. I've always gotten it with the coleslaw on the sandwich, which has been a nice contrast against the pork. - Smoked BBQ brisket sandwich + coleslaw side ($8): As a sandwich, basically inedible. The whole point of barbecue brisket is to convert the tough, collagen-packed connective tissue in the meat into smooth, silky, tender gelatin, which takes hours of slow cooking over low heat. In this case, however, four of five strips of uncooked or par-cooked brisket were browned on the flattop, then placed on a potato roll and drizzled with sauce. Upon biting into the sandwich, my incisors stopped hard at the meat layer, unable to cut through. After a few more attempts from different angles, I gave up and disassembled the sandwich. I was able to tear apart the meat strips with my teeth and chew the muscle fibers with my molars, but it was (literally!) tough going even then. I left behind the 1 1/2 strips that were just unrendered slabs of fat. I guess the flavor was fine, but it was hard to focus on it with all the mechanical problems; my hands did smell smoky for the rest of the afternoon, so that's something. To top it off, the miniscule container of coleslaw I received on the side was only about half-full, containing at most 2 1/2 forkfuls of salad. - Baked Pit Beans with Bacon ($3.50): Had as a side with the Pulled Pork sandwich. Nice, creamy beans in a balanced sauce, but nothing spectacular. I didn't discern any actual bacon pieces, but maybe the sauce is made with the drippings. - Mac-N-Cheese ($4): Although the sauce was sufficiently cheesy and creamy, this suffered from the same problem that all standing pasta dishes have: over time, the pasta absorbs more and more moisture from the sauce and becomes increasingly mushy. The macaroni elbows in this were still solid, but pretty limp by the time I ate them; this is probably better earlier in the day. - Classic Pork Dumplings ($4.25): 5 generic dumplings, microwaved and browned up on the flat top. The browning wasn't extensive enough to add any additional flavor, though, so all I tasted was meatiness from the pork and a lot of saltiness (assisted by the ponzu sauce). I'll probably keep coming back here for lunch occasionally, but I think I'll stick to the pulled pork sandwich, and maybe the beans too if I'm especially hungry.

Having never been to this type of restaurant before, we came with seasoned veterans so as to not be confused and/or overwhelmed. It's a lot IF you have no idea how this place works. Here's the gist of it: There's BBQ and/or Hot Pot. You can do one or both. There's a set price for adults and children. It's all you can eat for your 60-90 minute time slot. For a slight up charge, you can get both BBQ and hot pot. Since this was our first time, our party focused on just the BBQ. You are told when it's last call for having the raw items brought out from the kitchen to cook. Appetizers and sides are prepared in the kitchen and brought out upon your request. We tried quite a few: sweet fried mini buns, fried shrimp shuami, fried pork goyza, and fried spring rolls. All were yummy! Each person can request up to five items at one time. That's harder to do that you realize. And they will keep rolling it out as you request. However, it's important to note that wasting food is frowned upon so you are expected to order responsibility to avoid unnecessarily just throwing food away. Stars of the night for us were the skirt steak, short ribs and pork belly with enoki mushrooms. The zucchini and large mushrooms were standout fresh veggies. Everything brought to the table was very fresh and flavorful because of all the available sauces offered including a make-your-own-sauce bar. Again, adding personalized FUN to this dining experience. Service was quick and our table area was clean. Because the restaurant was so busy we sometimes had to trouble catching our server to order more items and get beverage refills. But it was never overly long. The evening ends with a Hershey's personal-sized cup of ice cream or sherbet. Just one per person. You'll be so full so one is more than enough! With our big group of seven people , our dining outing was a really fun experience. We'll be back and be sure to come hungry!

I opened them up the next day to grill and they are grayish brown, old looking and smelling patties. You know when you buy ground beef patties from the supermarket and leave them in the fridge for a couple days too long and they get brownish grey? That's how Merceps patties were, only worse, and they weren't even in the fridge for a day. Certainly didn't expect that from supposedly "fresh" patties that I spent nearly 3x as much as I would've on grocery store burgers. Brought the patties in the next Monday to return. The owner gave me an attitude right off the bat and argued with me that there was nothing wrong with the brown, gray overpriced patties they sold me. I said, "I don't know what to tell you. I guess we disagree. I'd just like to return them." He continued to argue, gave me an attitude and finally only gave me half of my money back. Fast forward to this year, 2025. Family members had a party and got nearly $75 worth of chicken from Merceps to barbecue. (Keep in mind this would've been maybe $30, at most, worth of chicken at any supermarket.) The $75 worth of Merceps chicken was only in the fridge for a day. When it came time to prepare and unpack the chicken we were met with a horrible surprise. Rancid chicken. Not just past its prime... but literally rancid chicken. Chicken that smelled like rotten fish. Family member called up Merceps and they agreed to give them a store credit and said not even to bring the rancid chicken back to return. Now fast forward to the most recent disappointment . For another BBQ, about a month later, family decide to get from Merceps once again, using the store credit from the rancid chicken. For part of the newest order, we got another dozen beef patties. What do you know? Same thing that happened last year. More brown, gray, sour smelling, un fresh patties. 3 strikes you are out. Stay far, far away from this overpriced butcher with their rancid, stinking meats and rude attitudes. BJs, Costco, Stop and Shop all literally have better quality meat than Merceps.. for half the price. Like what is the point of paying this egregious markup for a local butcher if the quality is so horrendous? Honestly?

I walked into the store and asked if they sell Oxtails, some guy that worked there said yes and pointed to the refrigerator. Well I didn't want precut oxtail I wanted the butcher to cut the tail for me the way I wanted it cut. The man behind the counter stated he Only sell it precut for $8.99 a pound. I said fine give me 2 lbs. after I paid the man I realized it was frozen. I didn't want frozen precut oxtail. So I asked for a refund. The man behind the counter said do you know that the tail is frozen when it arrives at the butcher. I said sir I honestly just want the oxtail to not be frozen because I wanted to cook it for dinner right away. Then all of a suddenly he says. We do sell the tail but that cost $10.99 a pound. Then he says "Do you know the price of oxtail went up because it's high in demand" That's when I started to think maybe this is a race issue, no one asked for the price of oxtail. I asked if you sold them by the tail. So I said I don't care about the price I just want Oxtail by the tail because I like to get my tail cut up no more then an 1inch in width. How dare you judge me by not telling me what you sell, but yet giving me the cheapest you have. I was very offended. Then he goes to say well if that's what you want you need to call me Monday and I will have it for you Tuesday. I believe that should have been said as soon as I asked if you sell oxtail by the tail and not precut. Why did it take you so long to mention that you sell the tail for 10.99 a pound. That should have been said in the same sentence as precut frozen oxtail is $8.99 per pound. I felt I was not welcome here and that's fine because I will not return. I'm truly disappointed because all the reviews on here was great so I thought what could go wrong
