This fast food chain specializes in Korean fried chicken. There are many other Korean dishes available here as well. And where have I been? Never heard of this eatery until Sunday 4/26/26! Our hungry stomachs saw the signage of this store and we were curious. This location is the first on Long Island and they have been here a little over a year. Mark, the gentleman behind the counter was friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions about the chicken seasonings and other Korean dishes on the menu. We ordered Korean wings and drumsticks with soy garlic and Korean BBQ sauce. The meals come with crunchy Coleslaw or Pickled Radish. We opted to get both! We also got an order of seasoned fries on the side. We raced home and sat down to have our meal. This food did not disappoint!! We were throughly satisfied with each fresh, flavorful bite after another. Now that I've been awoken from my slumber...apparently this chain has gone viral, I am looking forward to returning and trying more signature dishes. I love Bonchon Chicken! Somehow my first time at Bonchon Centereach was less than a steller experience. My wife & I walk in during lunch and its not too crowded. After reviewing the menu board, we decided on the Seoul Sampler. The Seoul Sampler comes with 2 drumsticks, 4 wings, Bulgogi Fries, Pork Potstickers, Korean Street Corn and Coleslaw. The restaurant is smaller than most Bonchon restaurants, it's more of a chain restaurant style take out spot. I asked the casher, do you have any plates and utensils? Yes, when your meal is ready it will be with your order. The meal comes out and there are no plates. My wife went to the register and asked for plates. She was told they don't have any?? We were given a to go box and we ate out of the to go boxes. The chicken drumsticks and wings were fantastic. The soy garlic is our favorite. Then, everything else went south. Bulgogi Fries - The Bulgogi was fine on top of the fries. They added a mayo sauce on top, my wife was out. The Korean Street Corn had the same mayo sauce. Good location and good food option for bunching and nice Korean chicken. Service was not bad , just a kiosk to order and a somewhat confused cashier . I ordered the spicy wings which were a bit pricy and did not come equally coated with the sauce but they were mostly crunchy . This was very good! My fiancé told me about bonchon fried chicken months ago and when I found out we were getting a bonchon just 15 minutes away, we had to go! I ordered 6 boneless wings; soy garlic and Korean BBQ. Both were so good! I also ordered seasoned fries. They were good, not great, but still good in flavor and crispy. My fiancé ordered drumsticks and they are HUGE. He also opted for soy garlic and he really enjoyed as well. Service was very friendly! I think we were chatting with the owner, and he mentioned that everything is made fresh and battered the same day. You could really taste that quality in the food. Now, full disclosure: I'm vegetarian, so I'm not exactly the fried chicken expert here, but I still found plenty to enjoy. I tried the Korean-style corn dog (vegetarian version with cheese inside and crispy fried potato cubes on the outside) and wow so good! I dipped it in the spicy mayo and that combo was fireeee. I also had the street corn, which had a great balance of sweetness and spice, and the vegetable potstickers with soy garlic sauce. First time vistor and possibly the last time as well My son stopped in and picked up a 5 piece strip and got a big box filled with tiny pices of fried bread. He was the last customer in the store tonight and i think they just dumped what ever was in the fryer into the box. It also came with pickled radish and the smell was rancid. Ordering was done on a self serve kiosk but there are staff members available for any questions. We ordered a mixed box of boneless wings (half korean bbq and half spicy), bao buns, and seasoned fries. Everything came out hot but the chicken was not as crispy as I would have expected. The spicy sauce was absolutely spicy and the fries are tasty but everything was super salty. The pickled radish was a good palate cleanser in between bites. I was super excited for this restaurant to finally open. We ordered Togo. We got a mix wings and drum in the sou garlic sauce. It was delicious. The chicken had a nice crunch and the sauce was so good not overly salty. The chicken katsu was a little dry but still good. I was disappointed in the pickle radish. It wasn't good at all. We decided to try this newly opened restaurant. I called to place an order, but they do not take orders over the phone (per Corporate rules,) only online. And the online App was not up and running yet. Located in a small storefront, in an extremely small & busy side parking lot. The restaurant was very busy!!! There are approximately 10-12 tables for eating in. The line to order was out the door, and remained that way, with only 1 counter person taking orders, which was frustrating during Grand Opening days. The food orders go through a kitchen window and there is someone expediting the orders out. I don't think it's a great system, fairly chaotic, and once online orders get rolling, and possibly delivery services, I cannot imagine it working efficiently. We ordered a bunch of things to try. The Udon Noodle Soup wasn't great. The broth looked like soy sauce and the noodles didn't have a pleasant flavor. Beef bulgogi was excellent. Great flavor, the meat was tender. Pork belly fried rice was mediocre. Some of the rice was in sticky clumps and still white. The wings (we had soy garlic sauce) were excellent. Delicious crunch and decent sized wings. The Boneless Wings (we had Korean BBQ sauce) were also very good. Again, a nice crunch, and a nice meaty piece of chicken. The sauce was very spicy. Lastly, we had the pork pot stickers. They were excellent, with a nice outside crunch, but tender inside. We thought the portions were small, (between pint and quart sized portions,) and it was quite pricey. Located in the heart of Long Island, New York, Centereach, Bonchon made its grand opening earlier this week and I have to say that I was impressed by their wide selection of Korean fried chicken and the amount of people waiting on line!! This place was jammed packed to the BRIM! Bonchon offers an array of quality Korean fried chicken and not only packing some flavor but quality of food. Since they just opened earlier this week, I would recommend getting there before rush hour, which is 4/5pm. I reached there at 4pm and got done with my food by 5ish. The wait was definitely worth it because I was able to get my hands on some WELL deserved Korean fried chicken. I would highly recommend getting their selection box. I got myself the 6 wings and 2 drums selection box with half Korean BBQ and half spicy sauce! Highly recommend the spicy sauce, it definitely comes with a kick but nothing overpowering. Also got myself their fried chicken bao buns! The coleslaw works very well with the fried chicken inside. A little messy but still flavorful. Then for my final bite I got the Bulgogi fries with EXXTRA cheese and Bulgogi! Bulgogi for those that do not know, is a thinly sliced beef. Often grilled or stir fried, extremely yummy! I was excited to try a local Bon Chon because the last time I ate at one was a few years ago in Flu Shing. Please don't dine in at this location unless you want a quick bite from a small order. I ate with a friend and they are ill-equipped for dining patrons. They brought us the orders in takeout containers, styrofoam plates and lousy plastic utensils. So glad this opened in our area. There were so many things that looked amazing on the menu we didn't know what to get. My husband loved the bulgogi fries and the soy garlic boneless. I really enjoyed the tacos (it was such a big portion I had to take the rest home) and the potstickers. I have 2 very hard to impress toddlers and they absolutely loved the tenders, corn and french fries. Was glad they had a plain chicken option for the kids and the tenders were so big they were almost the size of their forearm. We tried the seasoned fries too and they are very flavorful.
