Our girls wine group stopped here at the end of trip which happened to be one girl's birthday. They let us eat our birthday pie and provided plates and forks. The cyser and mead was delicious! We liked the shop, too.

Really enjoyed our visit here to try out some local meads - and I'm not a big fan of honey, but my husband is,so I just had to join :) huge grounds with a lovely patio for people to enjoy (doggos allowed, too),great selection of both reasonably priced and varied flavors of mead, along with some food (sandwiches, fries, pizza) available to order from the kitchen. We ordered a flight of different meads,I had honey cider and we had pizza with hot honey sauce, which was lovely. The only downside was that we waited for our food order for nearly an hour, but it was reaaally busy that evening,so we weren't too upset about it. Good selection of merch and bottled meads to go.

Don't let the vibrant menu descriptions deceive you, this place is a must avoid if you're looking for edible food. The pizza dough is seriously lacking any flavor and comes out burnt to a crisp. The Buddah bowls aren't bowls at all, rather reheated frozen protein on mixed lettuce in a paper tray. We were shocked at how busy it was given the quality of the food and the drinks. This place is your typical up north tourist trap money grab.

St Ambrose is perfect for enjoying some ciders or wine while taking on the beautiful scenery they have to offer! There is plenty of activities to keep the entire family entertained. Whether it is the live music, cornhole, or simply chatting at one of the many cozy spots, you will love to pass time here. There are plenty of things to snatch up in the gift shop. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Be sure to make St Ambrose a stop on your up north journey!

As a mead enthusiast, I definitely appreciate St. Ambrose Cellars! It's one of the few places that truly specializes in mead, and they do it exceptionally well. Whether you're into dry, sweet, or fruit-infused meads, they've got something for everyone. They also have live music, and a large yard for disc golf/lawn games, making it the perfect place to hangout with friends in the summer. If you're in the Traverse City area, this place is a must-visit for any true mead lover!

This place has become a favorite spot when we are up north for vacation. They have a large selection of meads, cider, beer, and wine, plus non-alcoholic beverages. We have yet to have a bad bite of food from here as well - my family especially loves the pizza! The staff is helpful and friendly and food service is pretty quick considering there's usually a lot of people there. They've also grown over the years and now have a huge seating area outdoors with tons of picnic tables equipped with umbrellas. This is a family and dog friendly environment offering plenty of games including corn hole, ladder ball, and bocce ball, plus they have live music and other events.

omg why did I not come here sooner. the ambiance with the picnic tables, barn, and the buildings is amazing alfresco. The food was great. truffle fries, strawberry salad, wood fired pizza, and the burger were great. had their signature IPA real good. The syzer is mead and seltzer combined with spot on flavors. This could be my new up north favorite spot. Kid friendly, live music! great service!

Great place to relax and listen to live music. Good basic menu that does not pretend to be more than it is, basic food done well. Good selection of meads and ciders and wines but not much on beer, which is okay. Great in the summertime outside but very cozy in the winter.

Outstanding food, great live music, and delicious meads! Our family of seven enjoys St. Ambrose mead with the margherita pizza, but I tried the cod sandwich and loved it too! Our server was friendly and turned out to be a great cook as well! We always get a couple bears of star thistle honey to drip at home between visits. St. Ambrose -- Great place to bee!

If you love mead this is a good to spot. Amazing variety of both carbonated and stilled meads. I personally love still mead but all in all it's wonderful. I got a Mead type Toddy and my table ordered a couple wood-fired Pizzas. The Angry Bee was everything I wanted in a pizza. The Drunken Goat was tasty but the artichokes were not for me. Over all wonderful experience and delicious stuff. Staff was also very helpful with my friends who had never had mead.

I am a huge fan! We came up here to camp for my birthday weekend, and as luck would have it it was a gray, drizzly weekend. We came here for lunch one of the days and it was excellent! We had our dog with us, and he could sit with us on their heated/covered patio - it was absolutely perfect. Each table had its own overhead heater, which was lovely. We tried a couple of flights of wine/mead and really liked everything. My favorite was the ginger mead. The food was good too, and works on a buzzer system where you just go get it yourself when the buzzer goes off. There were a lot of lawn games/chairs out too, and on a nice day this would be a great place to hang out!

My wife and I were in the Traverse City area for a weeklong getaway. While on our way back from a drive along the Lake Michigan coast, we stopped at St. Ambrose Cellars. We're big fans of craft beer and visited most of the craft breweries in Traverse City, but this stop was hands down one of our favorites of the trip! The grounds and facilities are beautiful -- casual, comfortable and family-friendly. The staff were also welcoming and accommodating. As far as menu, St. Ambrose Cellars makes their own mead, cider, wine and beer. All were available for flights. My wife and I tried most of the meads and one of the ciders. Everything was really fantastic! Standouts were the X. R. Cyser (apple pie in a glass, yum!), Rythm & Blues Black Currant and Blueberry, Shotgun Wedding Strawberry Rhubarb and Bourbon Barrel Aged Royal Reserve. We didn't eat anything, but the pizzas coming out of the brick oven looked and smelled delicious! St. Ambrose Cellars was a standout of our visit to the Traverse City area, and I'd highly recommend making a stop or going out of your way to visit!

I love everything about this place! I've been fortunate to visit this place both in the winter and in the spring. The winter is just a different vibe up north. I loved the snow falling and having some drinks in the igloos. It's a blanket of white with twinkling lights in the night! There is something about winter time that I just find enchanting. The spring time is fresh and new. We found some seats outside and enjoyed spending some time in the warmth of the sun. The property itself is adorable and we just loved the red barn. They have a fantastic selection of wines, ciders and beers. They have many options for food and even have a food truck on the property.I can't wait to come back and visit when we are able to sit indoors and check out the decor of the inside it looks beautiful. You will be pleased to find that they participate in the passport and carry tagabrews. Don't forget to check out the gift shop before you leave.

The place is very family friendly and I really appreciated that they had a changing table in the bathroom and a playground outside (and toys inside like blocks)! The outside is beautiful with a little lake and views of the vineyard. However, we were not impressed with the wine at all. It was sub par. I really wanted a sweet wine and the one we got was not sweet enough. The other wines we tried in the flight, were also meh. And this is just a personal dislike but it was a 90 degree day and it was so hot inside (she offered to turn on the AC and even turned the fans on but she said it would take awhile to cool down. I was surprised the AC wasn't on already and there wasn't that much of a breeze to make outside enjoyable).
