Great place for a vehicle. Sam Provenzano was great to work with. I've had service done on my trucks and they are great.

My service advisor was Daniel Ferencak, and the technician was Nick Leduc. When I was driving home, I noticed a burning smell coming through the vents. By the time I got home, smoke was coming from under the hood. When I opened it, I found oil spilled all over the area around the filter and across the skid plate, creating a strong, foul‑smelling mess. This wasn't a small oversight -- it was a safety issue. I called the service department right away and, as usual, was put on hold for a long time. I opted for a call‑back, but instead of anyone from service, I got their outsourced call‑back service. When I asked to be transferred, I was put on hold again. The only person who actually helped was George in Parts, who physically walked over to service and told them to call me. (I only spoke to George because I chose Parts in the department options on the main line. He answered right away, something that never happens in the service department.) When service finally called me, I got the standard script: "That is completely unacceptable! Customer satisfaction is our top priority!" While on the phone, I walked around my vehicle and discovered the technician had left the wheel lock attached to my lug nut. Another careless mistake. Because it was close to closing time, they asked me to bring the car back the next day. I told them I had to work. I asked about Saturday and was told no -- they "only have one team" then. And that was it. No follow‑up. No appointment. No offer to fix the mess they created. Nothing. I ended up googling how to clean the oil mess up and went to the auto parts store and purchased what I needed to clean it up the best I could. The burning smell and smoke finally went away after a week of driving. My takeaway? If you're stuck using this service department because of a contract, do not leave the lot without checking their work yourself. Pop the hood. Look for tools left behind. Check for leaks. Walk around the vehicle. Start it and wait to see if anything smokes or smells. Because clearly, they won't catch or care about their own mistakes. This appointment was a terrible experience, and Gerald Subaru absolutely lived up to the stereotype of dealerships that say all the right things, but don't actually care AT ALL about their customers.

I was sold a Legacy with a blown motor. My mechanic said it was well hidden. Total cost=4k for the car and another 4k to repair. So I'm driving a $9 thousand dollar '99. Karma (or an angry person with a firearm) will eventually get the owner of this shop...they always do. Remember: EVERY CAR HERE IS BROKEN OR WILL BREAK VERY SOON! THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IS INVESTIGATING THIS COMPANY AND MAY SOON PUT THE OWNER IN THE SLAMMER. CALL LISA MADIGAN AND LISTEN TO WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY... Caveat Emptor. This place is a scam of the highest order.

Before the sale, Jeff Albert mentioned that Subaru's commonly have issues with their timing belts and head gaskets. However, he never mentioned that the 2004 Subaru Outback that I ended up purchasing currently had a blown head gasket. The gaskets, heads, and timing belt all had to be replaced for $1,800 in repairs. In addition, I later found out on the first warm day that the air conditioning unit is also non-functional, and will need to be replaced. The blown head gasket became apparent after I noticed a collection of coolant and oil underneath the vehicle the morning after I purchased it. These leaking fluids were not present when I test drove the car, and I presume that Jeff Albert wiped off the fluids prior to my arrival as he told me to call him before I arrived. When I called Jeff Albert to inquire about how he would handle the situation, he said that the best he could do for me was refer me to his mechanic, Robinson's Firestone in Aurora, IL, where he could save me a couple of bucks by getting his low rates on the repairs. He mentioned that he already saved me $500 dollars on the deal by reducing the sale price from $6,500 to $6,000 (which is just basic bargaining), and he was totally unwilling to compensate me for the repairs. I refused to take my car into his mechanic and throw good money after bad by falling for this ruse. Jeff Albert was completely against standing behind his cars and his company, and he summed it up perfectly when he told me, "Well, you should've had it checked by a mechanic before you bought it." He is a smooth talker, but is very deceiving and tricky. Be very cautious when dealing with this man. If you must buy a car from him, have your mechanic, not his, look at it first. Also, refuse to sign anything that voids out the Illinois State Law that grants a used car warranty to buyers. I hope that you have found this review helpful, and can avoid making a mistake like I did and buying a car from Jeff Albert.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE!!!! I was informed by another Subaru dealership that the…read moreservices I was paying for were NOT done. All of my services were done there except the last two. So, for every oil change that I also requested my tires be rotated the rotation was not done. My tires on my new car never even made it to 34,000 miles. Prior to this my check engine light came on and they scared me into believing my car was not safe to drive but, when my husband called them out on it, they back tracked fast! I was going to take it to Gerald and asked for a loaner. I do not live or work anywhere near them. but i purchased my car there. I was told they had to diagnose it before I could get a car. I am done with this dealership and hopefully this reaches others before they have the same problems.

Before yo u buy a car here and get excited over the Lifetime warranty, Call the service department…read moreand time the call. You will be answered by an operator who is nothing more than a gatekeeper to keep you from talking to anyone who has any knowledge of your vehicle. In fact, I don't think these operators are even on the property. I made an appointment to get 4 new tires.... I brought the car in. Moments later the service guy "Mike" came out, said they made a mistake and they don't have the tire in stock. So he gave me a loner and said they whirl order the tire and it would be done tomorrow. (Friday) The next day I called twice. I finally got an answer from Mike who said the tires still were not in. Maybe the next day (Saturday) The next day I called and called and only was able to talk to the Gatekeeper/Operator who told me that this "Mike" guy was sent a message to call me. NOBODY ever called back. So, I knew I was not getting me car back and I knew it wouldn't;t be until Monday because Sunday they are closed. Monday I called them three times. Never got a chance to talk to anybody but that operator/gatekeeper again. Now I am worried the car was stolen or damaged and they are afraid to tell me. So, I started going on their Facebook and social media and posting what was happening. I also left a message with the sales department and the parts department as well as leaving a message on that automated chat on their website for someone to please call me! Soon, I got a text from "Mark" the service manager who said he would call me first thing in the morning once he got in and got to the bottom of this. Next morning- it's 10:30 am.... still no calls. I finally called today Tuesday! (for those keeping score they have had my car 5 days now) I finally got through to the original "Mike" guy, who apologized and told me my tires were NEVER ORDERED. The M IGHT be in today and the car MIGHT be done today.... SUBARUS ARE GREAT AND I LOVE THIS CAR!!! But Gerald Subaru dies not measure up to the service Subaru provides. Buy from a different Subaru dealer and avoid anything with the name Gerald on it. They've let the place go to Hell completely and avoid phone calls instead of being receptive.

Was dealing with CJ he told he would see he could fine one. Most dealers would try to talk you into different color by CJ found it and had on his lot in 2 days.We made the deal and I assumed we were done car was delivered and it had a 90 day temp plate. I had not received my plate after 45 days so I called in and was told they get up to 90 days to send to me. Nick was my sales person he was great very efficient and always called or texted me back. Now the bad part I was called today by someone I didn't really listened to what said name was but he was arrogant, disrespectful I told him I showed that I paid $503 for registration fees. He told that a 3rd party vendor handles there dmv fees and registration for them.he said they let him know today that they needed an additional $446 to complete my registration. I said so someone in the finance dept made a mistake and calculated wrong and now he expects me too pay the additional amount. This comes 10 week after I've had the car? I'm upset because there is only 2 weeks left before it expires. C Good customer service to means.Any calculations after 10 weeks of ownership the dealership should have taken care of it. This a dealership thing once the deal is done the customer service end. UPDATE! As of 8/25/2025 my temporary 90 day registration has expired and I DO NOT have my new license plates. As I stated above on the 80th day they didn't call me to tell me that my registration would be late. This dealer had the nerve to ask for an additional $446.00 for my registration that would expire in the next 10 days. Now we are forced to not drive our car until the plate comes which they can't tell us when that will be because they use a very bad 3rd party registration company. As you can see the owner responded to my survey saying he/she would look into it.As of the wring of this update I have not heard from anyone at Genesis of North Aurora. Be careful and ask questions and what they tell you get in writing this dealership back office or whoever handles registration seems to be very incompetent.
