I am impressed with how attentive the General Manager, Tom Kastrati, is with his customers. I purchased a new 2009 Ford Escape from this dealership back in late 2008, and it lasted me over 212,000 miles with reliable service. That is why I came back to this dealership when it was time for me to get a new car and I wanted a Ford Escape again, because I really loved mine all those years. Even before I purchased this one, I knew I'd need a new one 2 years ago and Tom sat with me and discussed how much I'd need to save if I wanted to purchase it outright versus financing, because that was my goal. His guidance helped me understand exactly how much I needed and what I would get for that price - for that I am grateful, because I did save that money and I got what I wanted, thanks to him and his salesman, Avlor, who diligently worked with me to find it. Avlor was very patient with all of my questions and worked very hard to find the car I was looking for, as well as graciously taking the time to show me how everything worked so that I understand it. He let me know that I can contact him, Tom, or anyone there if I have any questions or problems with the car in the future. I feel that his customer service was exceptional! Excellent dealership that really understands and show quality customer service. First let me say it's a really nice and modern dealership with many many vehicles (wide selection) and inside there's nice accommodations for customers. It was a drive for me but well worth it! I did an online search for a specific truck and Gerald Ford had one of a few available within 200 miles. I called and spoke to Armando the Sales Professional and he answered all my questions on the phone. We set up a day and I drove 1 1/2 hours out and he sat me down and went over all the numbers and the process to purchase to make sure I understood. He then walked me out to truck that he had parked out in front and went over EVERY function and option. I mean he went over each and button in the truck and admittedly I needed such a thorough orientation. I'm a car enthusiast and did research the truck but Armando showed me functions I didn't know existed. We took a leisurely test drive so I can get a feel for the truck. I liked the truck but wasn't sure it was right for me so I asked them for time. During this time they periodically checked on me but never pressured me even as I told them I was doing comparison shopping. After my research and review of competitors even other Ford dealerships it was determined that Gerald offered the best deal including their unmatched Lifetime Drivetrain Warranty and more importantly genuinely treated me with respect so I decided to go with them. I like to search for vehicles with my own pre approved outside financing to have one less thing to haggle over and they were accommodating not like the other dealerships and only once ask could they attempt to beat the rates of my credit union and I agreed believing they couldn't. This is when I met the also friendly and professional Brian the Sales Manager who quickly took my information and surprisingly did beat my quoted rates within 10 minutes. Even at this step I thought I needed to take some time to sort out is this what I really wanted and again no pressure no questions. Most places when you leave 1-2 upper management want to speak (high pressure interrogation) speak before you leave not here, Armando said okay and told me to call if I needed anything. They allowed me the additional time I needed to insure this was for me. I eventually decided it WAS for me and called and we set up a pick up date. The day we planned for (weeks after first contact) they had the truck cleaned and detailed and conveniently parked in front. By this time the original Sales Professional Armando was no longer employed there (congrats to him) apparently moved on but they transferred me to Aaron who performed just as dedicated and personable as his predecessor. He went over all the functions again even help set up my phone and set up my Ford Pass app. When it came time do complete the paperwork they handed me over to Des who was very cheerful, upbeat and funny while helping me with the paperwork and offering some of the dealership provided services. I was like everyone here is so friendly so I asked Aaron was it something in the water lol. After paperwork completed I got my new truck and plates (which Aaron installed quickly) and I was getting ready to leave trying to take pics and then he even volunteered to take pics of me and my wife that I wanted before we drove off. Last thing he did was give me his card and told me to contact him anytime with any questions and gave me a handshake and I went on my way with a smile. I left that dealership confident that I not only picked the right truck at the right price but more importantly picked the type of dealership that I want to do business with because they are really invested into their customers experience and treats them well. In October I took my car in for service; asking to change out my headlights to be brighter. Service did not have the part, he gave me a spec print out & said if I bought the bulbs, they'd install them. With print in hand my husband bought the suggested bulbs. On 12/30, I went in for a scheduled appointment. After a 1.5 hr delay, the suggested bulb did not fit. After explaining AGAIN what I needed, they seem to not understand or care.- not sure. I was working with Ronaldo and he showed me a couple of vehicles however the problem was I had no built credit and it was a little harder to get me approved but we got it done! Got the car in and out by 12, and it was perfectly washed, and I am very fussy. He also got a part we had been waiting for on a recall for the last year and could not get when we were home in Florida. Not impreesed with this Stealership at all. DONT buy into the sales scamers bs lie about how they have the "BEST Warrenty" read the fine print it doesnt cover anything. It doesnt take a rocket scientist (autozone does this for free) to hook up a scan tool, but yet they charge a "diagnostic fee" for every issue your having with the vehicle, when the 1 connected scan tool tells them everything at one time. They never answer the phone when you call to check on your vehicle and then if they do, they have to transfer your call to someone else and it goes to voicemail, what a crock, what happen to customer service ? making sure the customer was happy and would be a repeat customer ? I would never buy anything from ANY Gerald Stealership, and never taking my vehicle back for service there. read more

I had taken my car in for repairs and after getting the estimate back I decided it wouldn't be worth putting that much in for as many miles were on it. I then contacted them over the phone to sell my Explorer. I wasn't expecting much at all (figured they would be able to scrap it for parts at the bare minimum). I was put in contact with a salesman and given an offer I was happy with. I go into the dealership a few days later and talk to the manager at the front desk and give him the estimate with all the cars information and he says "yeah there's no way in hell we're taking this car. Who did you talk to?" I give them the salesman's name and he comes to the front (maybe a coincidence but I give a name of a current employee who is a salesman?) and he does not move off of the point that we had NEVER spoke even though one of the other employees showed me the log of him taking my phone call and confirming my number. Additionally during this whole conversation there was a group of 4-5 other employees who should not have been involved either eavesdropping or making comments about how "we would never take this car". Really felt like a group was trying to bully me in some way. After the manager explained that they wouldn't be able to make anything on it because there was x amount of repairs on it (acting like it costs them the same price to fix the car as it does the customer. Get out of here man are you for real? We all know it wouldn't even be half of what you charge us.) after that I just walked out. Honestly one of, if not, the WORST experience I've ever had at a dealership. Would not recommend and also will never buy from any Gerald dealerships in the future. Doubt they care but just wanted to share my experience since it left such a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Worst service! Had an appt in April for a recall, after having my car all day, nothing was completed. They said a new part was needed, they would order and notify when the part was in. 2 months later I call, they never ordered the part. Now the part is in and I'm told they need my car for 2 1/2 hrs, I had a 7am appointment. Inform them that I need the car by 11. I call at 11:30, a message is left for my service advisor. I call again at 12:45 and my service advisor tells me it will be ready between 3-4. I call again at 4 and now my car will be ready at 5! One star is too generous, no communication and was told that they were backed up from the day before so they couldn't work on my car. Awful service!! read more

I bought a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan at Gerald Ford. Before I ventured out to Aurora, I texted with a salesman, explaining exactly what I needed, and that I would spend no more than $20,000 out the door. When the salesman got back to me IN A VOICEMAIL THAT I STILL HAVE, he said his manager said I could have it, for $20,000 out the door, including tax, license and all other fees. I arranged to test drive it the next week. When I arrived at the dealership on Tuesday, the van was filthy. It had not been cleaned/vacuumed/detailed or prepped for a sale at all. Because it drove fine, and it was on budget, I said I would take it. I said I needed it detailed and the paint repaired before they delivered it. Then it went south. I was seated in someone's office - not the guy I had started with. Then I was taken to someone else's office and congratulated. Then I was hauled off to the sales manager - at least he was the person who had supposedly approved my offer the Friday before. Everyone was congratulating me - for buying a bare-bones mini-van - like I had just purchased a Ferrari. When I was presented with the paperwork - finally - I was surprised to see that the sales contract was for almost $22000. I said that there must be a mistake, because I was told I could purchase the vehicle for $20000, out the door. The oh-so-nice gentleman seemed surprised and said they couldn't do that! They wouldn't be able to pay the tax if I got it for that price. Not my problem. I stood up to leave, angry that I had driven an hour to buy a vehicle that I was lied to from the get-go. The price went down $100. Then $300. Then $700. I felt that this was ridiculous, and I don't like being lied to. For some reason, I agreed to purchase it for $1000 over my "final budget." I was tired, frustrated, and just wanted to get out of there. Then came the used car salesman bs. I was asked to think of my "happy place." ("Let's get her to forget what she wanted to pay...") and again congratulated for my purchase of this oh-so-basic van. I just wanted to be gone, I was sick to my stomach and mad at myself for caving. Then I had to go to the "finance guy" who was friendly as he handed me a new contract with the original price on it. I crossed out the price and wrote in $21000. (I should have written in $20000 and signed it.) He took it back and brought a new contract for our new agreed upon price. Among the papers he handed me was one with large bold words: NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES. Why did I believe that? I realized later that I could have not accepted the car or taken it back after it was delivered. I said I would have the money wired from my bank, and they said they would deliver the car to my home. The cleaning and paint were discussed again, I asked for a second key, (was told they didn't have one) and I was assured Gerald Ford would NEVER sell a car in bad condition. And not only that, but they would always pick up the car in Chicago when it needed service. Two days later, one of the sales guys brought the car to my home. I accepted the key, thanked him and he scurried off back to Aurora. When I went out to look at my new van, I realized that it had not been cleaned, it did not have new tires (one is rapidly approaching replacement), the carpets were filthy (the drivers side mat appeared to have ice cream smeared across it) and there was food and detritus in every crevice. The paint had been partially fixed, but the paint on the hood was bubbling up. I took photos, wrote to the dealership, expressing my dismay, and hoped for a positive response (oh, I am such an optimist...) I was told they would detail it when I brought it in for an oil change. I have texted, online chatted and called the dealership. They will not get back to me, except for their automated emails telling me how glad they are that I am their customer, and my satisfaction is important. I am ready to go to the Better Business Bureau with my complaint about this business. This dealership is so rotten, I should have smelled it when I walked in the door. read more

Buyer beware. Tom, the GM, is rude, condescending and a liar. My husband and I came to Gerald 3 weeks ago to look at a variety of vehicles. In our first visit we asked for the appraisal of my car. After "test driving" my car for over a half hour, Tom came back in, pretended to type on his computer and gave us a number. Originally we came in to look at the EV options, where Tom expressed that dealers just don't have a lot of information about EV and questioned our interest in the EV options. He said chargers can be hard to find, places might start charging for charging your car, etc. at that time I asked why he was so anti EV, he said "we just don't know enough about them yet."Basically, subtly trying to convince us EV wasn't the route to go. My husband and I needed to discuss and explore exactly what we wanted, but remained in communication with the salesman Marlon over the 3 weeks. We included the original appraisal value we were given in the email/written correspondence we had with the salesman. We came back to Gerald, ready to buy the car we looked at 3 weeks prior. A new manager appraised our car for 5 thousand less than Tom's appraisal. Tom then flat out denied meeting us 3 weeks prior and denied the appraisal value he gave for my car. I'm not sure what he was doing for a half hour when appraising it 3 weeks prior...Then when told explicitly how our interaction went 3 weeks prior, he said he never met us in our lives. He then proceeded to talk about my husband and I loudly while we were feet away, telling his salesmen to let us walk away, how he'd never do something like that, and other extremely rude comments. He's a disgusting human. His insulting actions, lying, and lack of social skills go beyond just a "typical car salesman." I get it, you don't remember every single person that comes in to look at cars. Just don't be rude, try to make the customer look stupid, and then talk about them while they are in the process of purchase. Go elsewhere. read more

Took my car there because seat heater wasn't working. Quoted over $800 for repair. Was also told about water pump leak and repair would be $2300 on top of other quote. Cost $170 for diagnose. Went to interior repair shop and had seat heater module repaired for $418. Took to another mechanic and was told water pump is fine and no leaks found. Draw your own conclusion. read more

Brought my car to Gerald Ford to diagnose an engine noise. $189. The problems were significant so I opted to pick up the car and have the work done at a more economical shop. When I picked up the car the climate control system had stopped working for the driver's side . It only blew hot air . This was a brand new problem . I called them the next day to let them know . They told me to bring the car in on Monday . I did . They attempted to charge me another $189 to diagnose the climate control problem . When I said no the manager came out and explain there was no way they had anything to do with my climate control issue . I explained that it was working fine when I dropped it off and he insisted it was not his problem . He did offer to give me an employee discount if the problem turned out to be minor and they did not have to remove my dashboard . That would only cost me $444. I got back in my car and left . There is no way I would trust this dealership to work on my vehicle . They actually made it worse! read more

Disappointed in the experience. I negotiated a price with the General Manager and we agreed. Shook hands ( a common experience when buying a car). I filled out tons of paper work. Ready to leave with my "new" car - new to me. Suddenly they cite a mistake they made and my monthly payment must go up $70 per month. We agreed on a price. We shook hands. And now they try to make me pay more. Sorry, no deal. Felt like this was not mistake but part of a plan to get me back to the price they originally wanted. I can't recommend them. Not a fan! Had my car towed there after a break down on I-88. They didn't get it on a rack for 7 work days and called me with a diagnosis. parts were to arrive that Friday (10days later) of course they did not! Got my car back 14 working days later (including weekends almost 3 weeks without a car). They only had a loaner for me for the last few days of this ordeal. Getting mad at the service department during the ordeal solved nothing so I was nice and all I got were excuses (people sick, parts didn't arrive on time, all loaners out). Thank goodness I had help getting to work so I did not have to rent a car for 3 weeks to add to my cost. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN!! And the icing on the cake is after almost 3 weeks of no car and a huge bill to follow they didn't even give my car a bath. It had mechanic dust all over the side of the front of the car where they leaned against it while they were working! A day after having my car I noticed weird noises when braking. When putting windshield wiper fluid in that night I noticed the mechanic failed to return the brake fluid cap back on the reservoir. What a joke. I called ahead, and was told I'd be in and out in 20-30 minutes. When I got here there was only one car in front of me for oil. Which is fine! The worst service department... Many issues over the last months since the dealer became part of Gerald group. The last one: I went for a tire issue and they blame it on a bad sensor. I told them that I knew I had a leak on the tire because I checked with a gauge. They refused to look at my tire. Then I ended up having to fix the tire when I was trailering horses. BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH PLUS OVER CHARGING! I shopped around to get quotes for a 150,000 mile tune up per the Ford maintenance schedule on our Expedition. Gerald Ford's service department quoted that it would cost $400. We dropped off our Expedition the night before to make sure the car would be done early the next day. At 3:30pm Steve from the service department called to ask me if I want to a coolant flush ($180), a transmission flush ($295 for flush only), spark plugs and boots ($420), plus pay for the lug nuts to be replaced due to a Ford defect that they refuse to warranty. When I asked what was included in the $400 quote for a tune up, Steve avoided answering, and when asked again rambled nonsense about a computer issue. We called other dealerships as well as our mechanic to price check and found that these prices are $100 or more greater than what other dealerships and our mechanic charges. I called back to cancel all services and spoke to another man in the service department who tried to excuse their pricing as using synthetics. I was never told there were upgrades being used. I called four times with instructions not to proceed, yet when my husband arrived 45 minutes later, he found they disregarded our request and were attempting to start the transmission flush. I was expecting to have the tune up completed to be prepared for a long trip tomorrow with my children. Instead we received an oil change for $65. Never again. BEWARE! read more

I called trying to have a key replaced and they bounced me around from service desk to service desk before I got someone who told me how much it would be then promptly hung up. I eventually drove there and they said it would be about 30 minutes to get my new key but it ended up taking over 2 hours. Never going through the hassle of coming here again. BE WARNED. read more

I was recommended to this dealership by a friend who knew the branch manager. I bought a used 2015 GMC Acadia from them on 12/27/19. I went to pick it up on 12/28 and was idling in the parking lot when the engine began to sputter. I went to the sales person Jeff and they gave me a loaner and said they would take care of it. 5 days later, I got it back, was told they switched out some part, and it should be good to go. It happened again that week, I was told to wait 2 weeks for the warranty to kick in. I took it back and they sent it to a GMC dealership, who said to run 3 or 4 tank fills of premium gas and that will clear it up. That didn't solve the issue, took it back and after a week was told it's the fuel injectors for cylinder 1 and 5 and recommended I also replace fuel injector 3. I did so, still doing the same thing, after that, every time I took it back it was the same thing, they couldn't get it to duplicate. I asked to get out of the car and find something else, and they tried to sell me a new car that I had no interest in (a Ford Fusion). Then they sent me to the GMC dealership to try and get me in a different car, and because I was charged so much for it, I would have to pay to even trade it in. I tried 3 times to take it in while it was acting up. Once they said they didn't have time to look at it because the mechanic just went to lunch, to bring it back another time, once I had the mechanic ride with me, and I left it only to be told again they couldn't get it to duplicate, then I had the dealership manager drive it to see for himself what it's doing. They sent me to the GMC dealership they work with, when I dropped it off, it was acting up, 2 weeks later I was told they couldn't duplicate it. Out of frustration, I took it to another GMC dealership, was told the lifetime power train warranty could be taken anywhere for service, that wasn't the case, I ended up paying $275 for diagnostics out of my pocket to once again hear they couldn't duplicate the issue. I took it for an oil change at a local garage, it happened to be acting up. Was told they could see all the codes, that there was an oxygen sensor that needed to be replaced, that it's reading random misfires in cylinder 1, and that he hears the rattle of a loose timing chain, apparently that engine has 3 timing chains. Took it back to Gerald Ford, and was told they don't have the tools to fix it. They sent me back to the other GMC dealership. Finally someone decided to try something, they switched around some coils to see if it's the fuel injector or something else. They asked for payment, when they called the GM at Gerald, he refused to pay the $100 until I called and complained I was told to bring it back, and when I did, they wanted $275 for diagnostics before moving forward. Again the GM at Gerald Ford refused to pay, and evidently blocked my calls. That was a month ago (mid August 2020), the car is still there because I refuse to pay for an issue that has plagued this car literally from day one, an issue that they promised to fix, that was supposed to be under warranty, that I have been dealing with for literally 8 months from when I first got the vehicle. And after all this back and forth to be told at this point I have to pay for the repairs is infuriating to say the least. I have called the bank to get out of it, and was told the dealership has to cancel the loan. When I called the dealership, was told it doesn't work that way, when I told them what the bank said, they shut up. I tried sending multiple messages to the GM with no response, sent a message thru a friend's phone and he called back within 10 minutes, apparently he was appalled that I would go to the BBB and to Google and Yelp after everything he has done for me... at this point, I'm awaiting the decision on the BBB complaint. It's unfortunate that I have to go thru these measures to get this car either repaired or taken back, I don't even want a different car at this point, I just want to be done with this. I didn't buy a car to have it sit at the dealership longer than I have driven it. Any excitement I had for the car is completely gone. I just want this nightmare to be over. I'm sorry it has come to this, I really am, but I have been more than patient, and feel I'm being taken advantage of at this point. read more

If you go here to buy a car, be expected to be lied to and manipulated into buying a car. They completely lied to me, told me my truck was owned by a physician at Delnor. Lies! My truck was sold to me with a nail in the tire, and my engine was misfiring. I am now stuck with a piece of junk, no warranty and a 21% interest rate on a car that's not worth half of what I bought it for. When I called they instantly said the problems weren't there when I bought it and it's all on me to fix. I can not warn you enough to stay away from this place. Had purchased a 2015 Ford Fusion SE from this dealership about 4 years ago. After 10,000 miles of owning the vehicle I had nothing but transmission problems that were never resolved. Brought the car in 16 times within the first year of owning it just for transmission problems that were never resolved. Decided to trade the car in a purchased a 2015 Manual Mustang from this dealership. I did not know that this car was a manual and was my first car I learned to drive manual in, however, during the test drive the salesman tried to teach me how to drive it. Looking back, the man wasn't even shifting into first. He was shifting into third thinking it was first and the whole ride with him was me just getting jerked around the car and him stating "you will get use to it, I'm just not use to driving this car that's why I'm having some trouble." Brought the car in a few months later due to a the gearbox grinding and not shifting into second gear. All the mechanics and salesman stated "it didn't happen to us so the car is fine, it must be the way you're driving it." Brought the car in due to the clutch petal getting stuck while shifting, mechanic/salesman stated "we didn't see anything wrong with it nor did it happen to us when we test drove it." A week later the clutch blew out. Worst dealership in North Aurora. After trading the mustang back in I decided to go across the street and purchased a Hyuandai Veloster. Best purchase ever, had the car for over a year and had 0 problems other than bringing it in for regular oil changes. North Aurora ford is a waste of money and I would HIGHLY recommend to stay away. read more

My truck got rear ended so I went to the body Shop at Gerald Ford cause it was close to my house for estimate which went very well once the insurance company said to get it fixed I called George was very helpful with ordering parts and setting up appointment. We went to pick up truck when done and noticed the new bumper had a dent in it near lic plates Raquel who was helping us asked Tony who repaired the truck look at it with us to decided to order another bumper in to compare.The bumper came in 2 days later we went and looked at with them it came in the same it was decided that the machine that ford uses to stamp bumper cause the dent. Tony took the time to reshape the new bumper and now looks perfect on the truck in just 2 days Very Happy!! read more
